Captivate

Hello,I am having multiple issues with 508 compliance with Captivate 2019. For some reason any text (regardless of if it has alt text or not) can't be read by a JAWS screen reader. The only time I can get anything text based to show up and be read via a screen reader is if I make it a transparent button which if you do that will always end not matter what with "click enter" so that is not a viable solution. I am not sure if this is an oversight because I wasn't having any of these issues with 2017 captivate. In fact, I have a fully 508 compliant course in 2017 and when I converted it to a 2019 file none of the former text was working. This is leading me to believe that captivate 2019 is not 508 compliant. Has anyone experinced this issue and/or have a solution? I have checked https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/creating-accessible-projects.html which has not been updated since october of 2018.

I have a SCROM package created in  Adobe Captivate 2019 (11.2.2.53) . File  size 193MB.  Page is not loading, when i importaed file to Moddle on hosted server envirnmer .. However it workes perfectly in Moodle cloud .. Any thoughts .. 

When can Mac users expect a release of Captivate compatible with the latest Mac OS? I think I'm paying the same kind of money as Windows users for my subscription.

Hello,I am trying to find out if it is possible to extract the source files from a Captivate project that has been published to a Scorm package for an LMS. I got an issue with state views on Android and IOS. It works ok on a IOS and Windows computer.I made my own "question slides" where I got four check boxes withad smart shapes (id=button+something).Each check box got two states "button" and "pressed". Hi, I made an advanced action to make a custom fill in the blank quiz during the slide using Text Entry Boxes (TEB). I have an advanced action that scores each TEBs and yields a variable (score_total) for total score, by adding each scores earned for all TEBs, and it is a user variable. Is there anyway I can report this variable (score_total) to LMS? Also, I know it is not possible to manipulate system quiz variables, since they're read only, but I was wondering if there is alternative that I can override system variables. FYI, I made this advanced action, rather than validating user input, because it creates multiple submit buttons corresponds to muliple TEBs. Also, if I were not to use sumbit buttons by using auto submit function, I have to set maximum letters and in that case, user can't type in any words exceeding max letters.

Hello,I would like to ask if what is the possibility to make Adobe Captivate presentation to resizeble that on moodle platform an user can adjust the size of the presentation to his own computer monitor?Is the changing presentation to resposive project the only possible way?Thank you for answer. Regards

I need to provide SME's with a storyboard template that will be used for developing in Captivate.  Does anyone have a good one for use.  By "good" I mean one that will make my life easier as a new user of Captivate.

Hello, I am new to Captivate.  I have taken the basic course on Linkend Learning but I need some one-on-one training assistance. The 2-day workshops offered by training companies still left me with many questions.  This is a critical need, as I have recently taken on a job that requires me to know Captivate.  I thought I knew enough, but I need help.  I will definately make myself available to others in need once I learn the tool.

I used the Millionaire Widget for Project Management Training that I do twice a year.  When I went to run it recently, it didn't work because it was a SWF file.  When I open the file in Captivate and Preview in HTML5, it looks great.  When I publish it to HTML5, the screen just says "loading" and doesn't run.  How can I get what I am previewing to be the published version?

I get this message when I try to publish the course and also somethimes when I try to open the file. The file gets corrupt and everything I have worked with is lost. Any ideas?

Hi,Can someone recommend me any text to speech website or software that uses human like voices? Best one I have found thus far is Lovo. I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket so any suggestion would help tremendously. Thanks!

Hi all 🙂 I have a slide in a simulation that recorded me scrolling down the screen and it recorded as such on the timeline:   Is there any way in Captivate to make it so when the user goes through the simulation it doesn't scroll as quickly? It's about 4 seconds now but I'd like to increase it to about 7. I think I could probably create a video of the scroll and then import it into the project, but is there a way to do this inside of Captivate? Thanks in advance 🙂                 

Hi, I am trying to have a video as a background on a slide in my project. When I import the video, I adjust the size of it to the slide (1280 by 540). I removed the skin and set the video to auto rewind and loop. I added to text boxes to slide that sit on top of the video. When I preview the slide in Captivate, it works perfectly. However, when I publish the file and upload to my LMS (SABA TalentSpace), the video is not the same size.  What am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I am overlooking? Could it be the LMS?  The video is an mp4. Does the video need to be another format?  

Whenever I try to publish my project to Prime, I get the error: "Upload failed. The system has encountered an error. Your content X failed to upload."I have uploaded via Publish to Devices (zip) and uploaded the zip onto Prime, and this has worked. The project looks fine on desktop, but on laptop, the formatting immediately gets messed up, which is why I am not trying to publish direct to Prime.

Hello all; I'm having an odd problem that I've not had before. I have been creating simulations for a project at work - which I do often as it's what we use Captivate for most these days - and my recorded slides are much larger than the first and last slide that come by default when I start a new project, even though the project is set to 1280 x 720. I don't know what happened but I assume it's related somehow to something I did while recording...? It's never happened before but now it's on all five of the simulations I'm working on.  You can see in the shots below an example. The first slide, which is just there from the basic theme is at a view of 66 and size of 1280 x 720, and you can see how much space is around the stage. The second slide also has a view of 66 and is 1280 x720 but there is much less space around the stage. All of the project slides are like this except the first and last, which are the default with new project. The third slide is what it looks like

HiI have built an html elearning course in Captivate 9 and selected to have a player bar stretched at the bottom of the course. In preview mode it looks as it should but in the LMS the navigation buttons are also stretched across the screen as per screenshot. Please help

Good evening, I am looking to implement the HTML jsPDF code to enable me to create a PDF certificate of a course. I've got the print.html and jspdf.min.js files as mentioned in the post, but I cannot seem to embed the files. Every time I publish the project the 2 files are getting deleted. How can I add the files so they don't get deleted when re-publishing the project? ThanksPhil.

Hi All,I have a PowerPoint with multiple audio clips that have been trimmed in PP, but when I try to create a new project and publish to SCORM in Captivate 9.0.2 I lose them. If anyone can advise what I am doing wrong I would sure appreciate it. I tried it in iSpring and it worked seemlessly, but I really don't want to switch 🙂Thanks in advance!

Hi all,Possibly a newbiequestion that is so obvious that I am the only one who has missed it.Is it possible to have only those layers affected (designed to be visible)  be displayed at the play head location when the playback is paused, or during editing the timeline?What I see now are ALL the layers I have created appearing at the paused playhead location, making it difficult to edit the one object I need to adjust, without turning off all the other layers in the timeline. There must be a better way, but I have not found it yet. Many thanks!

Hi:I have a drag and drop that is the first question of a pre-test. If not answered correctly it is set to take the leaner to the first lesson. Instead, it is continuing with the test, and not going to the first lesson. I checked and triple-checked the Success and Fail setting, and navigation is set correctly. How do I get the question to work?!

I have set up a page with multiple icons, when the user clicks the icon they are redirected to a URL in a sepearate window. This works for the first icon, however if i click on any of others it doesnt take me to the URL and instead it plays the rest of the project. I have tried using click boxes and pausing the project and i have also tried clicking the icon click box using the accordian next to the URL selecting NEW and unchecking the box to continue playing the project. Nothing is worked so far...Please advise.
