I am a young instructor a local college and I am really trying to provide my students with the best possible experience. I went out and purchased CAPTIVATE out of pocket and was really looking forward to using this powerful program.Firstly, my VIDEO DEMO (Recording my lectures with a webcam) is out of synch. I was expecting there might be SOME video lag where I could cut and split the audio and video to synch it up but the video GROWS out of synch so it's impossible for me to match my webcam audio and video and then to my lecture.Secondly, the ASSET page is blank and I have ZERO access to any elearning assets.  I have worked so hard to try and work around these problems but I am so dissapointed with how many problems I am having. Why can't I use this powerful program so seemlessly like the users on  YOUTUBE? I have a gaming laptop and although not the GREATEST it should be powerful enough for this program. I have installed and re-installed. Can someone ADOBE please

The book marking is not functioning properly, It is working till slide 26 after that if I move to next slides(27, 28 ....) then close the course and relaunch it again in SCORM it resumes on slide 26. (Note : We don't have captivate player, we have made custom player for this) below are the publish settings.

Hi all 🙂I'm wondering if you can help. I'm trying to create an animation where a set of stairs sort of grows up and over, up and over, from the bottom left of the stage to the top right. The idea is to reveal images on each 'step'. The images will be revealed via timeline adjustments, but I can't figure how to make the steps 'grow' or even if I can. I made a series of straight lines (vertical, horizontal, vertical, horizontal, and so on) to create the staircase, and I thought I could apply effects of fly in from bottom, fly in from left and so on, but I can't seem to make the starting point of the next line match up with the end point of the line before it. Does that make sense? I've played with the arrows and tried to match up the coordinates thinking that might be it, but it doesn't seem to help.  At this point I'm about to give up and just start with a complete, static staircase and reveal images as planned, but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas of how I can ma

Hi All,  I've run into an issue, which I know has been discussed before, but could not see an answer that meets our needs. We had created lessons, which includes a quiz at the end of it using an older Captivate and flash. The LMS is set to "Other Standard LMSs" and SCORM 1.2. What we did was at the end of the quiz uising a pdf widget was create a certificate based on the results and emailed to the office. When using flash it would work fine with no errors. I've been in the midst of updating the lessons using Captivate 11.5.5.553 and before end of 2020 was publishing as an exe. When running locally it all fine and wasn't getting any errors. Now that I have moved to HTML5 it is producing the "unable to acquire LMS API" even though it is the same project. I was wondering what is fundamentally different in terms of the quiz between the exe (flash) and HTML5? Why does the HTML5 produce the "unable to acquire LMS API" and the exe version doesn't. Is there anythi

How do I get rid of this error!!!! I have read through your discussion thread for hours and see tons of people with this issue. I see no explanation of how to resolve it. What good is this program if I can't use it?I have re-installed Captivate, Updated Java and Flash. I tried to even create a new project with only pages created from your templates and no outside info and I still get "Please verify if any of the actionscript is used as user variable name."Some one said to remove the JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS environment variable. I have no idea what that is or where I would remove it from. non of the other suggestions to fix this issue have worked.

Hello,I'm looking to update an internal presentation tool and I'm wondering if there is a new Adobe application or feature I'm not familar with. The presentation starts with a common slide show, but then I need the ability to quickly jump around, in and out to specific case studies slide shows. It would be nice to dynamically search for these case studies by name, customer, industry, (categories I can create).In the past I have used Adobe Flash, expoerted EXE files for co-workers to use. However, the files got too big and Flash would be unstable. Currently I'm using html tool to layout an internal web site, co-workers need to download an entire file directory to run locally. Muse was so promising and easy for others to use. I wanted to use XD, but need it to play videos, and I cant always rely on internet connection during presentations, or have every co-worker need a creative cloud account to view. Powerpoint and Interactive PDF kinda work, but I dont like the linear clickable present

HiI am suddenly recieving the following 'This site can't be reached' message when I preview a responsive project. It was working fine yesterday. I have cleaned my preferences and tried other browsers and nothing works. Any other suggestions? Many thanks for any suggestions. M 

I am doing a closed caption for an mp4 but the length of the video is very long, have added few CC's to it but the CC's are not syncing with the slide video properly there is lag always like the captions are moving much faster. any suggestions on how to fix it ? Have tried adjusting the timing but it never ceases to save it.

I want to jump from slide 1 to slide 10 then click next to reviel slide 11, click next again and be sent back to slide 1, then the same jump from 2 to slide 10, hit next slide 11 then click next at get sent back to slide 2 and so on. Is that possible? I can't seem to find anything about it. 

Captivate 2019Is there a way to create a Knowledge Check - when an incorrect answer is selected it links you back to the slide where the content for that question is covered? Once they have reviewed the content it takes the learner forward in the training to the slide after the Knowledge Check where they left off.  

How do you loop a video?  I created an event video.   Changed the timing to specific time with the time equal to the length of the video.  I checked automatic rewind and checked loop.   It does not loop.  These are what I found on the internet.  What am I doing wrong?

I have six Captivate files that need converting to HTML5 over the next couple of weeks (as part of a larger, longer-term project to republish a whole bunch of Presenter and Captivate courses to HTML5). Today, I was working on opening each of those six files and running the HTML5 Tracker to see which slides were going to require fixing, in order to be able to republish that course to HMTL5. I opened the first four files (using Captivate 9 in Windows 10) with no problem. When I went to open the fifth (by double-clicking on the file in Windows Explorer, like I had with the other four), nothing happened. I tried this a couple of times. I also tried using the "Open With" option and choosing "Captivate.exe," but that didn't work either. Finally, I tried opening Captivate first, and then opening the file from within Captivate, but that just crashed Captivate. So I then closed everything down and rebooted my computer, thinking that might fix my problem. Captivate 2019 - I want my learners to be able to review the quiz but I dont want to provide them with the correct answers. Is there a way to make it so they can see which ones they got wrong but not what the correct answer should be?

Hi EveryoneI hope someone can help.I have a request to add text to speech in Hindi and Bulgarian to my Captivate project.I have successfully downloaded and used South American Spanish and Polish but when I download Hindi and Bulgarian microsoft speech agents Captivate does not list them as options in the speech agent drop down menu. I have tried restarting Captivate and deinstalling some in case there is a maximum number that can be in use but nothing seems to work. Can anyone advise? Thanks so much

I downloaded Captivate 2019 on a Mac (10.12.6). Click program to start. It begins to boot, and dies literally within ONE second. I guess I have a software conflict. But what? What program do I need to delete or download? Does Captivate 2019 not work on MacOS 20.23.6.??? What do I do?

I am trying to loop a video, but when I publish it is not looping.  I am on captivate 11.5.5.676.   I followed the directions I found, the time is the time for the video, 4.2 sec. I set it up as an event video.  It is my personal video.  I shot it on my iphone, converted it to a MP4 and added it to a slide.  The video plays great, it just will not loop for the length of the slide.  I looked through the discussions, but they are either for older versions or showed me these instructions.  What am I doing wrong?    

Guys,I have been trying to get google analytics (GA) to report usage of my HTML5 courses. I am wondering if anyone can help me make this solution a bit more elegant..We install GA by adding a bit of javascript to the header of each page. Because CP HTML5 projects only have one page, this should just be a case of adding the GA code snippet into the header of the index.html file. This however does not work. I believe that this is because the API hasn’t loaded at the point that the code is executed, so can’t reference the CP variables that I need to build a pseudo-URL (see code below).The good news is that I do have CP and GA integrated. The bad news is that I have had to add the code snippet to an On Enter event on each slide. Repeating code is terribly bad practice (and limiting), but it does work.What I would really like to know is if there is a solution where I can put the GA code in one place (e.g. index.html) and for the thing to work. Hi I have published my course as scalable HTML and uploaded it to scrom cloud . When I am play course in mobile after 15-20 slides it starts behaving wierd some design items does not apear, audio does not play. What might be the issue? Can someone help me here.Quick reply is appreciated.

I am using captivate 2019. I would like to use a drag and drop as an exam question. I know under drag and drop tab I can select include in quiz and have the scoring recorded. But is there a way to make this look like my other quiz questions with a back and next button and will it also show up in the Review Quiz?

If my user fails the exam I want them to retake the whole course. What action do I need to set in order for the user to not only go back to the beginning of the project and retake the course, but to also reset the TOC to ensure they cannot skip to locations they previously went to the first time they attempted the course. 

I am using smart shapes, specifically a rectangle.   I have text within the rectangle, but when I preview or publish the line spaces changes and my words are now close or on the line of the rectangle making it hard to read.  How do i prevent this?  I am using Captivate 11.5.5.676. Lisa

The text formatting on my caption boxes and buttons change when I preview or publish my presentation. The line spacing messes up and the fonts look physically different too. Does anybody know why this might be? I'm using Arial and Verdana fonts so there should be no problem there. Below are comparison pictures showing what I mean.
