Captivate

Hi. I have created D&D activity. The requirement is that users should be able to move their choices around from one location to another prior to hitting the submit button. I selected Replace option in Accepted Drag Sources. When we checked in HTML output it is observed that the drag object becomes invisible after certain instances of replacing when dropped on target. So for time being I have kept Go Back option.I have used custom Submit button. It has 2 attempts. It has 2 different incorrect feedbacks. For that I created 2 slides. On first incorrect Reset button appears. On clicking Reset button (custom button) user jumps to next slide. On incorrect attepmt it displays another incorrect feedback. I have duplicated the slide before implementing D&D functionality.  Can you please let me know what could be the problem.    Thanks in Advance.

I'm using Captivate 11.5.1.I created a VR project and attached a video to one Hotspot. The video plays fine, but after the video ends, or if I close the video in the middle of playing, all hotspots on that slide dissappear.Is this a bug?Thank you.

When I publish (HTML5) a project from CP 2017 the HTML is not starting automaticallyI need to click a play button, displayed in the center of the first screen. I know there are already more post on this topic.But I never had this problem on my windows 7 laptop with CP 2017 installed.I recently moved over to a new laptop with Windows 10 and installed CP 2017 from scratch.Now I encounter this problem.I still have my ould laptop running.When I publish on that one, auto play works fine.When I publish the same project on my new laptop, I need to click play first.So there must be a setting somewhere that solves this issue.For now I edit the HTML file and enter the line "cp.movie.play();" as a work around.

Hello, I want to import a Powerpoint presentation into Captivate on my MacBook. Everything seems to work normal, but the presentation is not rendered correctly by Captivate: it seems that the text is enlarged so that it shifts and the layout is no longer correct. On Windows, importing with the same presentation works fine. What could be a solution?

Hello,I really need help.I've tried and tried and tried a lot of possibilies for publishing SCORM from Captivate to SABA LMS Plateform.I have found a way to publish a CPTX compatible with SABA when the navigator used is CHROME or EDGE. The completion mark is ok.The problem is that my Company is using Internet Explorer by default. In that case, my SCORM don't open in SABA platform. It runs without being able to be openedSABA told me that it is either an issue about the way I publish it (please find enclosed the way we do it in HTML5, I also tried a tip find in another post just in case : "Try publishing to SCORM 2004 and set the option in Quiz > Reporting > LMS Advanced dialog > Set Exit to Normal After Competion.  Select that checkbox and republish before testing again in SABA" )My version of captivate is the newest one, uploaded today.I also join extract from an email from SABA, just in caseI precise that our CPTX were done with older versions of Captivate and rearr

MP4 video has been inserted into Captivate 2019, it won't play in preview or when published.Verified that video works in editing software.Video image displays on pasteboard.I read in another post that Captivate requires a specific type of mp4.  Not sure how to accomplish that 

Hello everyone, I would like to create a complex interactive presentation with animated texts, illustrations, elements and those things. I took a look at Adobe XD, but it seems to have limitations, one of them being the need of internet. Which Adobe program would be ideal for this? Is it possible to save in an especifc file format, put on a pen drive and use it as a presentation in every computer with no need of external softwares? How do I remove the video progress bar, so users can't skip ahead?

Hi,I have an event video, set to play automatically. As the video plays I want the key points to appear to the left.  The video is:-An event video-Plays automatically-Displays for Rest of Slide-Does NOT have Pause slide till the end of the video selected.  Each Text Caption is:-Displayed for a specific time-Is arranged on the timeline to appear in time with the video's audio It works fine in preview, but when trying to view in HTML5, the text captions do not appear, and the slide does not advance after the video is finished. It is as if the slide is pausing.  Please, could someone advise what I am doing wrong?

Hi, all. I'm new to Captivate and am having some stressful challenges making my training module accessible / ready for easy use with a screen reader.  On quiz slides, I can get the reader to read the answers, however, it is not reading the question. AND, once I manage to submit a response, the feedback is not read by the screen reader either.  Please help!

I am using the latest captivate version. When I try to preview my project it opens a broswer window that does not contain the usual localhost:xxxx/  E.G.2019 HTML5 Preview URL: http://html5temp8804310345721pre/index.html2017 HTML5 Preview URL: localhost:9806/HTML5Temp7052315390622Pre/index.html I tried adding "localhost:9806/" to the 2019 URL, but still did not get the preview. Help? 

Hello I am unable to download characters from the asset library. I receive a  message saying it has been 100% downloaded but when i got to the character download page there isn't anything there. Is there a lag? Please advise   

Since yesterday, my Captivate projects are not loading when trying to preview. It's just a continuous circle spinning. Is anyone else having this issue?

INTRODUCTION:I have 11 sections within a chapter (only 4 are displayed for now), with 4 to 5 questions after every section.  BACKGROUND:With the help of 'Branch Aware', I can display the results slide after each section.  DESIRED OUTPUT:On clicking on 'Continue' button, the user needs to go to the next section.For example, let us consider the user read through section 1, they have attempted the quiz for Section 1 and the result slide is displayed. Once the user clicks on 'Continue', they should be diverted back to Section 2.ORAdd a Results slide after every sectional assessment. ACTUAL OUTPUT:What is happening now is when they click on 'Continue', they go ahead to the temporary Slide 45 which is created. The 'Continue' button executes advanced actions for last slide of each section as follows: How do I code the 'Continue' button or add sectional Results slide?Thanks in advance 🙂

I need to have a button inside an HTML5 animation (oam) or web object which makes the parent window (Captivate) navigate to the next slide. I've seen this working in Storyline with a button inside an HTML5 object which triggers this javascript function when clicked:Function next(hypedocument, element, event) {console.log("go to next");var player  =  parent.GetPlayer(); /* player */player.SetVar ("next",Math.floor((Math.random() * 100) + 1));} The user needs to navigate an interactive HTML5 animation in a slide before proceeding to the next one, so that's why I need the button inside the web object to tell Captivate to go to the next slide.Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, does anyone know if Adobe 9 allows close captions on mp4 files without having to insert the caption in the project? This would be a huge selling feature for us as we need to be AODA compliant.

Are there any tips, tutorials, or best pratices out there for specifically using Animate CC with Captivate? Thank you

Using Captivate 9 on Windows 7 64-bitI am working on a training video. I do not want the learner to be able to advance to the next slide by clicking NEXT until the video is done playing, which I have successfully succeeded doing by going to the skin editor and taking off all the forward options. I also placed a next button after the slide completes.I'm wondering if something can be set up so that if the learner has watched the video and advanced and then comes back, they won't be required to watch the entire video again before advancing. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!

Hi there guys!I'm new to Captivate. I've been using Captivate 2019 version  11.5.0.476 on Windows. I was asked to use it because the company I work for already bought a license.Everything was going okay until I needed to validate a simple text box before letting the user navigate to the next slide. I only need the user to enter a specific IP address, let's say: 10.10.150.20. These are the steps I have taken:1. I created a variable called v_ip_address already set to "10.10.150.20". (I have tried both with and without the quotation marks)2. The text box to be validated is called S03_Text_Entry_Box_1 and has an associated variable with the same name3. I created an Advanced Action called S03_Address_Validation with a condition that checks if S03_Text_Entry_Box_1 is equal to v_ip_address and only runs one action: "Go to next slide"4. Then, on the text box to be validated I assigned that Advanced Action called S03_Address_Validation both On Success and On Focus Lost5. On the text b

Hello!I have a problem that never happened before with me regarding captivate. I start a project from a power point presentation and added some interactive processes. However, when I publish it, the quality of image is not good. It is blurred and almost painful to read the text. I have already selected high quality in publish settings, but this didn't seem to change the final quality.Does anybody has an idea of what can I do? This is a very important project to me, and I am afraid for this bad quality.Thanks in advance!

Wenn ich eine Folie mit Textfeldern ausdrucke die ein Teilnehmer ausgefüllt hat  (Siehe Screenshot 1) damit hier eine Unterschrift geleistet wird übernimmt der Druck die persönlichen Angaben und ergänzt diese mit Datum- und Unterschriftfeld sowie einem weiteren Text unten (Zutritt zu Tamol-Cluster usw.).Das ist dann auch in A4. (Siehe 2ten Screenshot)Wie kann ich das in Captivate erstellen? Freue mich sehr auf FeedbackIf I print out a slide with text fields filled out by a participant (see screenshot 1) to make a signature here, the print will take over the personal information and complete it with a date and signature field and another text below (access to Tamol clusters, etc.). ). Hi, I'm confused about the purpose of the Language option in the publish settings. I've tried exporting to different languages but I don't see any changes in the published file.  It's my understanding that any text or audio files that need to be translated must be replaced with appropriate files. I just want to make sure I'm not missing some magical auto-translation function that I don't know about.  Thanks much!

I am creating a project for a school LMS, and I have a few slides to create a Custom Care Plan that the students can enter in their own ideas and thoughts and it will generate all the ideas they have at the end (a separate slide). I am not quite sure how I can get this to work, as it isn't a quiz to test students with, but a written response section on four or more slides, each with separate areas of the Care Plan that we want them to fill in their own ideas on, so it will create their own unique Plan at the end, with a slide with the results of their input. Not sure if that can be created or not using Captivate, or if this is something I would need an outside source, such as a website to do this or another program to create the Plan, that can then be imported into Captivate either through a hyperlink or button? Also, if it can be done, is there a way to make it printable within Captivate's publishing features or would it depend on the internet browser that the project is played on?
