I am running into something weird.I am creating a lesson where the user will select the group to which they belong, one of ten groups. This will set a variable with a value of the group id.I have some slides and some knowledge-checks that unique to each group.I have some advanced actions running on enter  that checks the group of the user, if the slide is not meant for the user's group, captivate is issued the command to go to the next slide.When going through regular content slides, when a user comes to a section of slide not meant for them, the content area is blank for a fraction of a second and you can see the playbar advancing rapidly through those slides. Once the user hits a slide they are supposed to see, content shows up and everything works great, as expected.BUT once I add in knowledge-check slides things go wonky.The scripts and navigation still work fine, a user will rapidly progress through the slides until they reach a slide they are supposed to see. Beginning a project in Cp 2019 (Windows) and wondered if there is any way to flow text content between Fluid Boxes (or any other type text boxes) between slides, similar to reflow between text boxes on linked separate pages in Frame Maker. Some of the text is longer than fits on a single slide and could benefit from responsive flowing to the next slide.I suspect this is not possible, but new to using Fluid Boxes, thought I'd ask to be sure before creating a work-around to present larger amounts of text. For example, a work-around for larger amounts of text on a single slide: the overflowed text calls up a scrollbar for scrolling that text.Any suggestions appreciated.(BTW new Cp 2019 is impressive!)

Certificate Widget not working in Captivate 8.01.242 in responsive project when previewed in Chrome on Mac OS 10.7.5?I tested as a Flash project and the Certificate Widget works, but not in a responsive project (HTML5).The Adobe user manual seems to indicate that it should.  The HTML5 tracker does not show it as not supported.The certificate looks like it is loading...but then just does not show.  The other text on the page does show...just not  the certificate.I also tried under the Edge Preview and it had the same issue.Can someone please try this on a newer Mac OS and let me know if it works there?Thanks.-troy challenger

I am using an s8 android phone, and find it keeps crashing. I am losing content and need to get my clips done tonight, or should I say redo them it has done this about 12 times now. Hello,We're having some troubles with the tracking of scores on an lms called "knowledge4me". The lms cannot track any scores.Also, I cannot find any imsmanifest.xml file in the folders after exporting. Can this have anything to do with the lack of tracking? Some important information : - the project's format is SCORM- users must be able to repeat the quizzes if they haven't succeeded- users pass the course only if they get more than 75% at the quizzes I join two screenshots so you can see the settings of our quizzes. Hi! I'm trying to create an exercise where users can write a "to do list". I have a pdf template with text boxes and i want to transfer the text from text entry boxes to the pdf so the user can download it. my idea is to make a button that open the pdf in new window but i don't know how to transfer the variables. help ❤️

Can't see my mouse!?!? I just downloaded Captivate 2019. (I've used a few different previous versions.)  I cannot see my mouse pointer; I can occasionally tell where my mouse is because a box in the ribbon menu highlights when my [invisible] mouse hovers over it. How can I make my mouse visible? I cannot even use the tool without seeing where I'm supposed to be clicking. Very frustrating because I've spent the past hour trying to find a solution in the online Help. All I found was how to modify the pointer for a specific slide. Just to clarify - this is not for the end user to see the mouse in a recorded simulation. This is for me - the author - to be able to see my mouse so I can create content. As it stands, I can't see my mouse and can't even use the tool. Thanks for any feedback!!

Just thought I'd share a blunt force fix for a project that was generating one those "Adobe Captivate - A fatal error has occurred and the application is being terminated. Adobe Captivate has tried to save all your work in the respective project folder as .cpbackup files. Please restart Adobe Captivate." messages on a PC, and simply freezing the program on a Mac.At some point a few days ago, when I selected a few particular slides in my Filmstrip, the program would freeze up. I tried all the standard things, deleting Preferences, Cache, etc., with no positive results. I couldn't select a slide to delete it. I'm using the Neospeech free voices, and started thinking that was the cause. But I couldn't delete either the audio file from the Properties > Option panel or from the timeline of the slide, nor could I access the menu Audio > Edit, nor could I select the audio files in the Library. All these attempts resulted in a freeze or fatal error. I was finally able to delete the audio

I would like to seek input on how other Captivate professionals go about their curriculum planning. I hope to come up with a few short Captivate projects for my portfolio using Adobe Captivate 2019. How short would you think these eLearning modules should be? I want to have several modules teaching on several different subjects and this is the reason for keeping them short.In addition, I want to to show potential clients documentation on each phase of the curriculum planning procedure.

Hi,I'm having a problem with a captivate SCORM project in Moodle - it works perfectly until I get to the first question slide and its like the slide is inactive and I cannot select any options except for submit, and when I click submit the incorrect answer message appears but when its cleared again it won't allow me to select any of the options. When I close it and re-open it works fine.I've also tried changing the first question and the same problem occurs even with a different question. I've built 2 other modules with the same template and the quizzes are working fine but I just can't figure out what is causing it to freeze on the first question...Any suggestions would be great.Thanks  

Im using 2017 captivate and I am importing audio clip into captivate however, when I select edit the audio, it gives me this unfinished loaded screen and therefore I cannot exit the pop-up screen, so I lose anything edited and must force quit. I've restarted my computer several times and saved the a new file version on a different local folder and same results. Please help.Lilybiri​

I am using Captivate 9 and the purpose of my project is solely for the user to have multiple random quizzes in one location. There is no LMS and the project will be published to HTML5. Upon entering, the user sees a screen with multiple buttons. They select which quiz to take, go through the quiz, and then arrive at the Quiz Results slide. They are able to review the quiz but cannot retake it if they fail. I have the project working perfectly to that point. However, if they pass a quiz I need to generate a certificate of completion that they can print. This certificate needs to include: their name (remember, no LMS) and which quiz they just passed. I know how to get the certificate to print, but cannot figure out how to get them to the appropriate certificate based on what quiz they completed. Having a page after the Quiz Results slide with a button that Executes Advanced Actions sounds like the right answer but when I do this the button performs no action when previewing the project (

I often use smart shapes for basic shapes rather than importing external graphics, however, any smart shapes with rounded corners look terrible when previewed or published. I am aware that Captivate converts vectors to png when publishing, but the quality looks far worse than any other graphic on the screen. Example below. I exported a rounded corner square in png and svg from illustrator to show as comparison to the smart shape. All shapes are 150 x 150 with a 6 pt line thickness Viewed at the native project resolution, not stretched to fill screen etc. The project publish settings in Captivate are set to high. You can see the smart shape looks horrible in comparison to the other two. It obviously gets worse the smaller shape you draw. This is using Cp 2017, with the same results showing in the new 2019 version.Any suggestions? Cheers,Mark

Hello, everyone, I have encountered a very strange problem in Captivate 2017 that I need help with: I built about 9 projects in Captivate now, and for 3 of them, I used the same template, or rather, I built one of them, and then used it to build the 2 others.  Well, all three seem to have the same problem: a few slides (about 4) seem to pause themselves even though there are no elements that should trigger a pause at that point.  I have a skin on the slide, and basically, I end up having to click "play" for each element that is yet to appear, instead of them flowing naturally without pausing.  I have examined each element, and I cannot identify any obvious triggers for a pause.  I have completely rebuilt those slides from scratch and had mixed success with that.  One slide seems to have gotten fixed, the other 3 did not.What's most baffling is that the problem does not seem to be permanent.  If I run the project 3 times back to back without changing anythi

I have an issue the ' " and captivate bullets (and possibly other characters) turning into symbols. Only in Internet Explorer.Now, in order for this to happen, I have to upload the course to our LMS, suspend/exit the course WHILE the audio is still playing, and resume the course. From then on the characters are replaced with symbols.I received this course built by another company built in a newer version of captivate where it is required to hit a play button to start the course. We do not want this functionality for our courses. I am under the assumption that this is part of the cause, but am unsure. Problems have appeared from the moment we received the course and before we edited the courses.Any insight or direction is appreciated on how to fix this.

Hi All,im newbie on captivate..and i was searching and not found s about my problems..okay this is my problem:in slide 1 (i call is menu) : i've 2 menu button, 1st menu is jump to slide 2, and 2nd menu is jump to slide 5 but it cant be clicked if they didnt pass slide 2,3,4 and got alert "please complete 1st menu"..and if they was pass slide 2,3,4 this menu can be clicked (its maybe happen if they click back button from slide 4 to slide 1 again) .thank please help,Kaleng

HelloDoes anyone know why you have to press this button several tomes to get ahead? Its the button for the quiz funktion. After several clicks it continues. The function of the button is otherwise ok, but i would to keep pishing only once times to go ahead. Is that possible?Here is a video:Thank you

I use stock photos I purchase online for some of my background photos.  When I go to preview the slide it is just a blank, white slide.  The background music still plays but nothing else shows up.  Is anyone having this problem?  I called Adobe twice and they keep saying the photo is corrupt.  That's not the issue.

Good morning:I am new to Captivate and am creating a course and want to have some object animations start as soon as the new slide is open.without having the playback control visible.  there are a series of pictures and text that move. I have set up the timings and everything works.  But when I preview the slide the animations stop or never start.   I just want the learner to click next, have the slides advance to the next one, and all the animations just play till the end.Help??Art

I created a quiz with Captivate 2017. I did not find a possibility in version 2017 to export for version 9. In the “Save As” dialog is one file type “Captivate File(*.cptx)” only. So it looks like the version number does not matter. As I tried to open the file created by version 2017 by Captivate 9, I got the following error message box.

We have a project built from a PPTX that we have applied a theme to.  We've checked the box for putting master slide objects on top.  However, when we've tried to add a title to additional slides the title doesn't show.   The master slide has a placeholder for a title but and the box will show up but when you copy or type a title in the box it disappears when the slide loses focus.
