Captivate

I use stock photos I purchase online for some of my background photos.  When I go to preview the slide it is just a blank, white slide.  The background music still plays but nothing else shows up.  Is anyone having this problem?  I called Adobe twice and they keep saying the photo is corrupt.  That's not the issue.

Good morning:I am new to Captivate and am creating a course and want to have some object animations start as soon as the new slide is open.without having the playback control visible.  there are a series of pictures and text that move. I have set up the timings and everything works.  But when I preview the slide the animations stop or never start.   I just want the learner to click next, have the slides advance to the next one, and all the animations just play till the end.Help??Art

I created a quiz with Captivate 2017. I did not find a possibility in version 2017 to export for version 9. In the “Save As” dialog is one file type “Captivate File(*.cptx)” only. So it looks like the version number does not matter. As I tried to open the file created by version 2017 by Captivate 9, I got the following error message box.

We have a project built from a PPTX that we have applied a theme to.  We've checked the box for putting master slide objects on top.  However, when we've tried to add a title to additional slides the title doesn't show.   The master slide has a placeholder for a title but and the box will show up but when you copy or type a title in the box it disappears when the slide loses focus.

Hello - I have found another oddity on the iPad. When using a Sequencing question on th iPad we are seeing some odd behavior.It looks like the item being dragged gets duplicated. Then the duplicated item persists through out the rest of the lesson.You can see this on the video below. You can also see how the drag item when pressed and held, gets small and jumps to the left side of the screen. After that is when the item is duplicated and then will not go away.Has anyone seen this and found a fix?We are on Captivate 10.0.0.226.

Anyone seeing an issue for Captivate 2017 courses in Chrome? I thought I saw a few posts about this, but I am not able to find them.I'm just getting a blank gray screen in our LMS when I try to view them in Chrome. The files I started with were Captivate 9 files and now I saved them in Captivate 2017, so that might be the issue. I tried reimporting the files. I thought I saw something about inserting a blank slide as the first slide. I tried that with no luck. I export in both SWF and HTML5. Any other ideas?

Hello!I have created an E-learning course using Captivate (2017), and I let my learners jump through the course using the table of contents.Now, if they haven't viewed the slide yet, I want them to listen to the whole thing, but is the slide has already been viewed, I don't want the audio to play again when they revisit it. I want the slide to basically show the "end" view, all objects visible.Is there a straightforward way to accomplish this?Alternatively, is there a way to have a playbar that lets them navigate just through a specific slide, instead of the entire project?Thank you!

I don't currently have access to the cptx for this project but hopefully today I will.  We have a quiz posted to our LCMS that when the course is taken and the quiz completed the quiz results page shows a score of 70% out of 100 when all the questions are answered correctly. I took it after it was brought to our attention and it happened to me also.  I even did the quiz review in case I hadn't really passed all the questions but I had.Any ideas would be appreciated.Thank you,Susan

I have recorded some audio however it only plays for the first slide of my project. I would like the audio to play while the next several slides are displayed. Can I do this?

Hi,On the attached the blue icon appears on mobile output only.  I'm playing around with custom fonts so our corporate fonts can be seen on mobile devices.Ive got this working (sort of) but this arrow appears next to the font - pressing it just magnifies the screen as you can see.I've had to edit the 'CPLibraryAll.css' file to add 'cp-actualText span{font-family:EENobblee-Light;' to get the custom font to display, but it now displays with the attached arrow - any ideas?!Thanks,Chris. 

Hi there,I am playing with the Captivate 2019 and I created a VR project. I use the photos in the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\Gallery\360BGAssetsI checked the notes on the Adobe site too, but I could not find an explanation about the preview of the VR projects.Do I absolutely need a VR device to be able to see the project?When I try to preview with F11 this is what I get (see image).What am I missing? Can we use the VR projects in a browser and drag with the mouse?Thanks in advanceBobby

Hello all,I'm building a pretty "progress-restrictive" course in Captivate 2017 and trying to put in a "Redo Chapter" button at the end of my project files. I want it to Jump to Slide 1, Assign all variables used to track/control progress back to 0, and Change the State of buttons from Visited to Normal. All of that seems to be simply accomplished by piling those Actions into an Advanced Actions attached to the Redo Chapter button.While I don't think the Knowledge Check slides will be a problem, there are 1-2 Quiz Question slides that must be answered correctly to mark the project as Passed. These slides are located before the slide with the Redo Chapter button on it, but I am not trying to truly "test" their understanding at this point (there is a separate project for the quiz, and they're given unlimited tries to get the Quiz Question slide correct), I just needed something to make sure they are working through all of the material (slide views is not an option).My question is what is

Hello,I have unwanted characters showing up within the Quiz responses when publishing quizzes xAPI in Captivate 2017.Within the answer selections to choose from, there are spaces within the answers.  Example quiz question setup:Q. Which activity do you like to do in the morning?1. Take a nice walk2. Go for a swimWhen I publish Captivate xAPI to an external LRS and view the xAPI Activity Statement, everywhere within the response wording where there was once a space, a %20 was substituted.  It does not insert %20 within the question wording itself, just the response wording.Here's what I get:"success": true,"response": "urn:scormdriver:All%20of%20the%20above"Here is what I want: "response": "All of the above"How do I get Captivate to NOT INSERT  urn:scormdriver: AND %20 in the response?  I cannot give this to my client without cleanup work.Any guidance around this would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Sharon

Hi All,Adobe 2017 - Creating Instructional Videos that must be hosted on Vimeo and then embedded.These are software simulations (not Video demos) that show users how to use an desktop application. Step by step instructions that help users navigate around the application and carry out common tasks.I'm flexible on settings when recording - using windows..I've been working with Captivate for a few years on and off and always found it a challenge to create videos that compress well and don't appear fuzzy in online streaming sites like Vimeo. I've never found a clear solution to this issue and seem to get caught in a google/youtube loop everytime I investigate it again. Surely it should not be so challenging with a tool that is designed for this exact kind of challenge?So again, I find myself on a new project and the same issue. Hello all. So I've asked before about hiding certain buttons on a slide until other buttons have been clicked. Got that working using variables/states/advanced actions combinations on slide entry. Same with playing audio. I have it working where audio plays the first time a slide is visited, but not on subsequent visits to the slide (again, using variable/advanced action combo). Does anyone know if there is a way to essentially combine those two ideas into one solution? For example, I want audio to play on slide entry, but I want a certain button (continue button) to stay hidden until all other buttons on the slide have been pressed. When one of those buttons is clicked, it takes me to another slide to view content. I can return to the original slide, but I want the "continue" button to stay hidden AND the audio for the slide to be suppressed. Captivate 2017I've built a drag 'n drop interaction (the 2nd of 2, 1st one works perfectly). I've indicated the drag sources in the interaction wizard and they show up in the Mark as: line as Drag Source. When I preview it, none of the drag sources show up on screen.I didn't have any issues with the 1st drag 'n drop and this one is just like it.All help appreciated.SmilesSusann

Hi….I’ve reached a defining moment (I’m standing on a ledge ready to jump!).I’ve successfully used Captivate since ver 4.  How to publish Captivate 2019 software simulations in SWF or HTML5 that will run off of SharePoint 2016 in Chrome. I’ve searched and tried everything.Fails:Can’t get published HTML5 to launch from SharePoint 2016 in either IE or Chrome.  Have been working with SharePoint admin.SWF launched from IE but everybody uses Chrome as default.  I don’t have control over our users’ browsers nor settings. So when users click on a link, it launches their default browser.Need the interaction/simulation functionality.How do you successfully host your eLearning simulations in 2018???

I have some drag and drop interactions that look fine in SWF, but in HTML5 the Smartshapes I use for my sources and targets don't appear in HTML5 output.The text contained in my drag smartshapes do appear however, and the interactions work.My drag smartshapes have an inner shadow, stroke, and contain text. When published as HTML5, the drag smartshapes show the text over the correct shape, just no inner shadow or stroke.  My target smartshapes have a solid fill and a stoke set at 1 with no text.  They are the rectangles with the rounded corners. But they just don't show up onscreen in my browser when published as HTML5.  Just wondering if there's a setting I'm missing.   Thanks.

Hello,We are experiencing this on all of our Captivate 10.0.0.192 demos sending 3 xAPI "Attempted" statements when the demo is closed before completion.  I've included a screenshot of the three xAPI statements side-by-side as well as our settings.   1st statement (left) is when demo is launched.  2nd and 3rd statements are sent when the demo is closed before reaching the point where it is considered completed.  2nd one sends the scores.  3rd one sends the duration.  Three statements are skewing our numbers.   In addition, why would the 2nd and 3rd statements send "attempted".  It is not reflective of the learner action.  It should be something like "abandoned".  Does anyone know why this is happening and how to resolve?

HelloI often use the Rollover Image function, but it works not run reliably in the Internet Explorer. In the preview of Captivate it works perfectly. If I publish it and open it in Inernet Explorer 11, it will not work properly. The same problem in Chrome.Here is a video in which I show the problem.Is there generally a future-oriented function with which is similar as the Image Rollover function?Thanks for your help!

I just installed CP 2019 on my Win10 machine and I'm having an odd issue where it will open and present the full UI and the new project selection window, but it closes after only a few seconds. I should mention that this happens when I "Run as Administrator." Has anyone else experienced this with the new version?Thanks!Message was edited by: Tim Harkins
