Captivate

Hi, I have a PPT slide deck (32 slides) and would like to add a pop up text box to each. I have slide 1 set up the way I want it, with a "show text" button, a "hide text" button, the text box itself, and advanced actions for applicable showing/hiding. Is there an efficient way to replicate this interaction for each of the 32 slides (same structure of interaction, but different text in each box)? So far I figure that duplicating/renaming each advanced action for each slide will work, but then I will have dozens and dozens of actions to sift through and I'm hoping someone out there has a smarter approach!

Hi, I am still learning Captivate 12. I am having a lot of difficulties getting the buttons to work correctly. I added a new slide in and changed the interaction of the button to go to the slide I just created. When I preview it, the project skips the slide I want it to go to and goes to the one after it. This has been happening constantly on any new slides I'm adding to the project. I've worked on this for hours trying to find a way to make it work correctly. I've tried restarting the project and even uninstalling and reinstalling the program.I've added some attachements inculding a video of what's happening. Is there anything I'm missing?

Hi All:I have been waiting for Adobe support to get back to me, but a client is waiting....ABOUT MY PROJECT - I created a blank Captivate file. I added to that file a VR slide. Within that slide I have multiple Hotspots, most only to show Display Text. Two to navigate to a different (not VR) slide.PROBLEM - No hotspot works upon publish.SYMPTOMS :Previewing HTML5 in Browser results in functioning Hotspots as expected / intended. It is only upon publishing and reviewing in the same browser as the preview worked in... that the hotspots no longer function.This brokenness is apparent in:Windows 10 Captivate (64 bit)ChromeIEFirefoxEdgeWindows 8 Captivate (32 Bit)ChromeIEMacOS Mojave (64 Bit)SafariChromeFirefoxThe Adobe support person accessed my Captivate file and recreated the same issue on her machineThe Adobe support person created a brand new file and created a single slide with a single hotspot and recreated the issue.I have done the same with multiple computersAnd finally, frustrating

Hi there. We recently moved over to Captivate 12 and I was trying to set up the navigation in our projects the way we had it in Captivate Classic, with the Next button appearing at the end of narration upon first visit only, and then appearing right away on slide revisit. I reached out to Adobe and although they tried to provide support, the steps and instruction I received were not correct and did not achieve the functionality I was going for.  In order to document my solution for the rest of our team, I created a Captivate project that demonstrates the soution with the buttons and includes instructions for how to do this in your own projects in the tabbed widget on the first page. Unfortunately, I'm not able to upload the project to a web server to share it with you, so I've included screenshots of the project with the instructions in a PDF. Hope this helps someone! I'm struggling with the Media Blocks and adding and editing images in the Captivate 2023. What am I missing? I'm about to go back to the old version where I can easily select Media > image and resize the image by dragging the corners and can move the image anywhere on the slide so easily. In the new version, I have to add a Media Block and right-click and do Replace Image and there doesn't seem to be a real resize and move option. I tried the button thing with the logo that someone mentioned but that's not a good solution at all. Anyone else have options. I feel like I'm missing something obvious regarding importing images, logos, and so forth.

Hi,I have embedded a video (mp4, <1mb) on a slide.When I preview it as HTML the video plays. however, when I publih it as an mp4, the slide where the video is embedded shows a loading icon or a blank frame. The rest of the slides play fine.It worked fine in an earlier version (11.5.5), it does not seem to work in the current version (11.8.0.586).Any insights would help. Thank you. 

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else is having this happen but I've run into a number of issues with the forum. I'm unable to read any discussions/posts when logged in, the discussions won't load. It won't let me scroll down past the top of the page. If I create a post, like this one, I'm unable to add pictures or attach screenshots. Lastly, I'm unable to reply to posts in any way. If I click either 'reply' buttons they simply disappear and nothing happens. This is leaving me unable to reply to a post that I made late last night: https://community.adobe.com/t5/captivate-discussions/issue-with-images-not-changing-states/m-p/14189596#M304781 This issue has occurred on two different computers, different browsers and an iphone. I've tried clearing cookies/cache and nothing changes. Any ideas on how to solve this? A Google search shows that this has happened in other forums before but I'm not 100% clear on the solution.

Hi, I have both Captivate 2019 and Captivate 12 installed in my laptop. I used Captivate 2019 for software simulation but I got only empty mp4 files when published. The file size is 0 bytes. I tried opening the videos in both WMP and VLC but I just got errors only.  Could anyone help me with this? Thank you.

A button that I'd covered with an image still caused the cursor to change to a hand and still responded to a mouse click. I believe that in HTML it's normal/expected that a mouse click event on one element doesn't bubble/capture to a separate element unless those elements are nested. I doubt Captivate nests a DIV within an IMG so I guess Captivate is doing something with Canvases or tracking the click coordinates instead of the targets to (in my opinion) decrease usability.I find the behaviour confusing. Does anyone know why it works like that?

Liebe Community, ich suche nach Tastenkombinationen um in Captivate produzierte Scorm-Dateien benutzen zu können aus Sicht des Lerners/Users. Welche Tastenkombination beispielsweise für "Weiter" oder auch für die Beantwortung von Quizfragen - vor allem für Blinde Menschen. Die für Erstellung von CP PRojekten kenne ich schon - bringt mich aber nicht weiter. Danke

Hi, my Captivate 2019 is so slow when I am in template! It take forever juste to move an item! Do you know why and what I can do?  I have already try to clear the cache project. I pass to many time in my template juste because it's incredibly slow.  Thanks!

Hello, When I preview my training, the table of contents works fine, going through slides works fine. Everything is good to go; however, when I publish, it skips to the graded quiz at the end; when using the TOC, it skips around; knowledge check slides are generating a Quiz result after them; some slides aren't showing up.Nothing seems to be going correctly for publishing, and I can't understand why.  Any help would be appreciated.

Each quiz question seems to require the response to be clicked twice before it can be submitted. The first click highlights the response but doesn't actually select the response; the second click actually chooses the button next to the desired response. Is this normal or do I have something set incorrectly? I've included screens and timeline shots. Thanks for your help!

Is it possible to remove the TOC button in the playbar while keeping the expand/collapse buttons (Overlay)?

Hi, I'm using the new Captivate 2023 and I want to insert an image into a block of a slide without it being cropped. Also, to be able to add text blocks both above and below the image. This seems like it should be simple and straight forward but any help would be gratey appreciated!  For it to look something like this:  

Big no no... can't even add a company logo without hard printing it on a background image ? basic functions are missing, I love all the features and the concept but in the state that it is right now it is useless to me. Also text is not centering on different screen sizes, it sticks to the left side.  Might check back in a year or two

If you try to put an icon in a timeline it loads rotated 90 degrees to the side. There isn't a way to up the flip vertical/horizontal to get it upright.

Hello, after the upload to our LMS and an initial start of the eLearning an error occures that a connection to www.adobe.com  was declined. How can I fix this problem? Thank you for your help

I have a quiz that allows for 2 attempts. So, I need the Retake Quiz button to show if they fail. I would love it if the Continue button only appeared if they pass or if they fail after their 2nd attempt. Once they pass, I want them to continue to the next slide to congratulate them. If they fail after the 2nd attempt, I want it to jump to another slide to say that they need to talk to their manager. Both of these are attached to the Continue button. However, both the Retake and Continue button appear when they fail and I highly expect learners to hit Continue rather than Retake and it will take them to the final fail slide. In searching through community answers, it seems like the previous solution was to hide the Continue button under the Retake button. However, that is not an option in the All-new Captivate. Does anyone have a solution for this? Help is greatly appreciated!

Running into an accessibility issue with a narration for visually impaired slowing down the speed at which sighted users can go through a presentation. Can the audio file be disabled via an Advanced Action, or other mechanism that would allow a presentation to proceed at a faster pace by using a NEXT button to go to the next slide? I am thinking here primarily of speeding up the way quizzes are viewed and responded to. [And yes, the VO is AI-generated, so I am seeing if speeding up the AI VO resolves the complaints, so this question is kinda academic, kinda not.] Thx! Don
