Captivate

Good day, all;Just a quick question: I have added a playbar to a project and only want it visible on 1 or 2 slides. I have set the OnEnter action to Hide Playbar on all the slides I don't want the playbar on and everything is working great. The issue however, is that when the project starts, the playbar is visible on the first slide (the slide with the 'play to start' button. Below are images of my project start (with an image we add to start) and a more generic one, both with the playbar. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the playbar from that starting slide?  Thanks!samamara

Has anyone figured out how to edit the captions that appear on quiz slides? I see that I can change the caption background color through the theme and the actual text for the caption through Preferences, but I can't change the font, size, or color. The caption font is Times New Roman which I do not have that font in my theme. This is posing major accessibility issues since I can't change the font color. I watched the Adobe video and they even had contrast issues on their captions.

This is my first captivate project and I was so excited to be wrapping up and all of a sudden I'm trapped at the finish line! The last slide of my project is showing up completely blank both when I preview the project and when I publish it to HTML5. It's not the final slide I worked on, it's not a complicated slide, just a thanks for taking the training with an exit button and some images of the scenario characters... Why is this one showing up blank? I'm not having the problem with the other 20 slides. 

I am using Captivate 2023. When users testing my LMS module get to the end, they can't press continue. How do I edit what that button does? The normal interactions are not available.  I am trying to create a "Yay you finished" slide or a certificate slide... is that possible?  The On Pass and On Fail actions can be selected, but I'm not sure what to select... I could have it go to the next slide and build the "yay you finished" slide. How does the user close out their training and ensure the score is recorded? Is the score automatically recorded once the user completes the quiz?   

Hello all:I am doing some testing of Captivate Classic outputs and my remote colleague received the attached error message when trying to load the .zip file: "Error - unable to acquire LMS API..."Our LMS is Oracle. Are there tweaks I might beed to make in certain files to get the .zip to play nicely?  ( can try to get specific version info as needed...it wasn't immeditely to hand as I'm not part of the LMS team and any uploads have to run through my colleague)  

When trying to change to a font from my computer system a error message apears saying unexpected error which may cause captivate to behave unexpectedly? 

Hey everyone, this is my first post here so please bear with me. I'm looking to create checkmarks for the slides the user visits (this can be seen in the image below). When the user vists a new page, the checkmark will turn orange, when they leave, it turns green. I already have this working by executing an advanced action script on enter. The problem is that i have a different advanced action script for each slide, and tying this functionality into every single one quickly becomes messy, especially when you have different amount of slides for each lesson. Is there a more global way of doing this other then tie it to every individual slide? Maybe through a javascript or something? Best regardssvardz

How to set a screen size for responsive project in adobe caprivate. specially in smaller screen size [portrait and landscape].

I wanna add music at the bakcground of my course, but I only find the "music per slide" , I don't find the option like the Captivate Classic, It is possible?

I'm a total newbie to instructional design and working on my first LMS module. I was on a call with a company that I'm working with, and they set up a call to "review how the captivate package will emit tokens and variable substitution for different languages (13 languages)." I have absolutely no idea what they mean by the captivate package emitting tokens... Any thoughts on this one?  Also, does anyone have any idea on variable substitution for different languages??  Online resources or even a starting point would be great. Thank you!

When I attempt to import an audio file to the background,the file loads, the window opens to review and edit the recording,the issue is that there is no Save or Cancel command button as indicated in the YELLOW box at the bottom right of the screenshot.I have to use Task Manager to close the window and re-boot the app.NOTE: I have been able to perform this function successfully for many months, on many projects, for some random reason, it is not working now.This is true for all project types: Blank, Video, Software Simulation.I cannot figure out why the imported file displays in the window as Narration: (name of file) As shown in the RED CIRCLE below:I appreciate any and all assistance. This is a really tough issue given my project deadlines 😞

I cant publish or preview in html5 in browser... It worked well and then it stopped doing so. It just puts the loading icon forever. I have to turn in 4 modules this week for a client an none work, help please!

Hi everyone,I'm having a strange problem with Captivate.It's asking me to buy the software, but I already got it? It appears fine in my plan overview in Adobe CC. Otherwise, Creative Suit works just fine. I have tried on several computers and unlinked them. Has anyone else experienced the same?RegardsJacob

Hey everyone,  This is my first time posting here and I hope what I'm posting is OK! I'm a teacher in Ireland where my students are in the age bracket of 12-18. I currently use Google Slides to create content for them and use different apps for quizzes and learning checks. I am wondering if anyone else here teachers in this age bracket and uses Captivate. And if you do, how do you find it, and how do your students find using your created content? I'm obviously remote teaching at the moment as all of our schools are shut. And I want to find a way to create content for my students that is engaging and easy to use for them. Any response is greatly appreaciated and thank you for your time!

Hello, When I add bullet points in a slide and try to get a "preview", I get an error message and can't see the slide. If I replace the bullet points by a simple -, it works.  Strangely, in some slides, there is no problem, and in other, there is the problem.  Any explanation or tip, please ? Thanks and best regards, Marily

I’ve designed a slide with three shapes configured as buttons. Each button has a different term on it, and each button’s Action is "On Success Change State of" a multi-state shape named text_placeholder_shape.  As the user clicks each button, a different state displays the response from a different country of each button’s term in text_placeholder_shape.  I can preview the slide and the text size of all three states are the same. (See example.) But when I view it in the SCORM cloud the size of two of the states changes–the text is very tiny. (See example.) I am including all the screenshots. I am at a loss as to why one would stay the size I programmed it to and two would change. Any thought? 

Is it possible to publish or print a storyboard/handout with thumbnails in the new Captivate or do I have to use Classic?

Hi everyone, Just would like to ask around about an error I am encountering, specifically in creating a glossary. After publishing the module all fonts or characters suddenly change to a diamond character. I tried several ways  like uploading a word file, uploading a png or jpg, doing tweaks on the fonts like creating hidden white fonts yet nothing works. It also does not acknowledge the "apostrophe' when I use it. Can someone help me on this? Thanks

Hi.  Suddenly I found Adobe Captivate on the main screen of my Android 10Q right where Bluetooth and Location are.  It goes off with a flash randomly and my pictures started being deleted as well.  But that's a story of cloning I believe.  I can't uninstall it though.  It's embedded somewhere. Not in apps. No APKs. No downloads etc.  Can someone help?  Short of a factory reset?  Thanks a lot. 

I created a course from scratch with recorded audio.  I don’t want the "Next" slide button to appear until close to the end of the audio.  I tried setting timing for that button to ‘Appear After’ and set the time close to the length of the audio playback.  I have it selected to display for Rest of Slide.This works for slides where I have a picture linked to an external video and my button appears near end of video.  If the slide is just text with voice over it is not working.I am including a screen shot of the timeline with one of the slides this is not working for.How can I accomplish my goal?  Do I need to use an advanced action, and if so, how?  I have not used those.I am using the 2019 Classic Captivate.Thank you!Cheryl

Hi, first of all thank you for any help provided. I have a simple show me, try me and test me project. I have 100 slides for show me all with one single text caption providing guidance. For test me I am providing one text caption for guidance and one hidden text caption accessed through a hint button for assistance. Instead of hiding each text caption manually is there a way to wildcard hide the lowest numbered caption using javascript  and then this can be set as the page enter action to the 100 try me slides. I could also use this on the hint button to show the hidden caption. Aware there may be slicker ways of working in terms of setup but as this is an established project I'm looking to align to the current practices. Thanks again in advance for any help. 

Curious if this is a commercial product or something homegrown by someone, as I can't find any documentation on it.Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I'm still doing development in Captivate Classis. The upgrade seems to have gotten rid of the preview next 1-5 slides. I don't want to have to publish/preview an entire 80 slide lesson to just see if a couple things are working. Did that option get relocated somewhere? Also, I used to use custom motion paths in advanced actions. But I don't see the ability to do that anymore either. Again, am I missing something? Or did they get rid of it?   Anyone know how we can get these missing things put back in? Thanks,  Lori
