Hi,We have a client who wants to do essay questions.Is this an LMS thing or can I do them in Captivate. rgds Renovator

When you make modifications in the Speech Management with already generated speech, for example adding a new sentence in the slide, or cutting and pasting text in different sentences, the editor makes a mess in most of the times, mixing-up the speech texts. It's not necessary to generate speech, also it's sufficient to scroll down the Speech Management windows, and the changes are messed up. This reflects also in the closed captions, which mess-up the text of the subtitles. I have sent many times to Captivate teams this bug, which is not solved yet after all the updates. In the last one, just to add a new bug, the speaker voice is changed. As example, I use James and Kate as voices, and I have noriced that if you generate a new speech, changing the text, the old "Kate" voice changes: you must re-select again the "Kate" voice for all the slide speech again. I use only Speech Management as audio for the slides, and those bugs are really annoying me. Thank you for reporting to the program

I'm using the scrolling text widget and I am having a problem. I have a version that will be used outside of an LMS and it's not working. In the LMS it works but locally it doesn't.  It's blank. Is there a way to see the widget when viewing from my desktop. Also, when I go to preview project it works but not when I click in index_scorm.html to open the project. Using Captivate 2019 11.5

I have used a mp3 files for a project and when I play the audio back using the speaker icon in the filmstrip it sounds fine. When I do a preview it sounds like there is files overlayed. Any idea what the issue is. I also have the audio files not sticking to the slides and the audio files will show all one file. I delete them and add them again to the slides and it shows the right file then it reverts some again. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. I am duplicating my slides then changing the audio. Any syggestions?

I'm trying to set up the knowledge checks so that there is feedback given based on which of the wrong answers they've selected.  Figured out how to do that, no problem.  I set the advance answer option action to "No Action" so they can finish using their attempts to answer the question.  However, I noticed on the last attempt, the project stopped.  I'm guessing a combination of no more attempts to answer and "No action" on the incorrect feedback led to stoppage.  So my questions is, is there a way to show a "final" incorrect message and then allow the user to move on?   Thanks!

Hello, Thank you for all your helpful tips. However I am facing an issue with the Dropdown preview in Captivate 9. An icon like a picture icon appears (like below) in the HTML5 preview in the dropdown before clicking on it. Do you know how to resolve this. Thank you in advance

Hi I am creating a project on captivate 2019 and have seen that the app frequently goes on  "Not Responding" mode. Please suggest what can I do about it.  

I get this error code 213:11 while launching Captivate.

I need to revert to a previous version because the new 11.8.1 version is buggy and stalling my project creation.  But my experience is each new version of Captivate has been able to edit projects made in previous versions, and makes it it's own... but, you cannot, then, take that project back to an older version - is there a workaround for this?  Must I recreate in the older version?(Edit newer-version Captivate project in an older version of Captivate?)

Hey guys! My coworker, a subject matter expert, recently did some audio recording while she was screen recoring using the video demo feature of Adobe captivate. There were 3 separate projects open because she had to re-record some audio. When she was finished, she said that she checked the audio to make sure that it recorded and said it was there. When I came to export the audio, I was able to export the first project and audio was there and is included in the Captivate timeline. After exporting (or "publishing" if you will), there was no audio in the timelines in any of the other two projects to my dismay. I exported them as well and they were silent. My coworker swears she checked to make sure there was audio there. Did we do something wrong or did Captivate lose the audio somehow? Unfortunately, I can't post the samples because there is confidential information that I need to redact still. 

Hi,I have a scenario where we upload eLearning courses on an LMS. The users complete the course but it is not getting marked as complete. This is the setting we have:We do not have any dependency on Quiz and the course is configured to be complete when user completes 90% or more.Not sure if anything is missing from the .cptx/source file. LMS is still not marking it as complete so would something be on the LMS side that is preventing it? Or is it something we can handle in the Captivate source?Any pointers?

HiA bit of an annoying problem when using buttons made out of smart shapes. When another object are placed on top of the button, the button is still clickable? Why is this and are there some way to prevent this. I can use disable and all that but in this case its not that great 🙂

Hi All... tough one here.  We have a few simple demos that will not play on our VPN network.  No complicated actions, simply click here to continue style.  They play great when connected to the wired network, but when users access through the VPN, it's hit or miss. When they can't access it the preloader just stops. Granted, I know what you are saying... bandwidth, security, etc.  Here is the thing.  Captivate 5 works fine, flawlessly, even larger files.  I've tried removing the AllowScriptAccess in the htm file, nothing.  Putting the CSS inline in the .htm, no luck.  When it is not working for VPN users, it's as if the file does not exist.  We get a page not found if we try to hit the swf directly. Our IT is currently looking into it.  But the question is, what is different in the published SWF between 6 and 5?  There must be something going on in the AS that controls the published SWF that is causing this issue on our VPN network

Hi ,I am using Captivate 2017 (10.0.0.192) and am trying to apply a slide transitions (for the entire slide, not content or objects on the slide).This webpage provides simple instructions to do this, however I cannot see the transition list.I have a slide selected from the filmstrip and these are my options.Appreciate any advice. Not sure if this is possible but maybe with some configuration in the published files.To be able to change the background on first slide visible to the user at also change the play button is really usefullBut what if I would like to remove the button all together and make the user click the button I would like. As seen in the example below I would like the user to click the black button reading "starta kurs"Or, alternativ, alow the full area to be clickable to "activate" the course.Could this be done by for eample edeting some sourcefiles in the export? 

Hello,Captivate 2019, Build 11.5.5.553.I have been fighting this issue for hours - literally. I have a slide with 81 seconds of audio and two pauses (Click to continue). As you move along the timeline, the synchronization between the audio and the slide objects gets further and further out of sync. I've seen this before but not to this extent.I had to add a 2.5 second gap to prevent the audio from continuing at the second pause and then after that, I had to shift objects to the left to ensure they appear at the right time in sync with the audio. I had to make these adjustments after publishing because it is even worse on the LMS, so I'm basically guessing where to drag the start of each object. As you can see in the two images, after the first pause, I was able to align my timeline objects with the gaps in the audio. Starting with and after the second pause the gap in synchronization increases.First pauseSecond pauseIs this common and are their any solutions? I did get it working

If I want to change from perpetual license to subscription how can I do that? 

In my project, a number of slides are built where upon entering the slide, a smart shape button object displays with text and pauses at 1.5 seconds. Upon clicking the button, an Advanced Action is triggered and the playhead advances through the slide. One of the objects at about 3 seconds is a shape object with audio attached - maybe a 5-second narration. Let's call this shape ABC.When previewing, everything works fine, including all the Advanced Action logic that shows and hides objects and also jumps the play head around. So there is some complexity, but it all works fine.However, after actually publishing the project, some of the ABC objects, with the 5-second narration, have the tail end of the audio cut off. And, it's not always the same slides that exhibit this behavior. All the slides in question have plenty of room for the audio to play. And other objects with audio attached don't seem to have this problem. I know the playhead is still moving because I'm monitoring the current

I had installed adobe captivate 2019 on my computer which has now completely stopped working. How can I deactivate captivate 2019 from a computer that is no longer available?

In previous versions of Captiave (Cp9 and 2017) occasionally I'd end up with what appeared to be a duplicate of a course, but it had a .cptx.bak extension, and was larger than the non-bak version..  For instance, Mycourse.cptx would become Mycourse.cptx.bak. What does this indicate?  It happens much more often in v2019 (11.8.1.219).I can usually just delete the .bak version, provided I have a normal version with the same date and roughly the same time.  Or I'm pretty sure I could manually remove the .bak and then the file would open again and seemed to be fine, though it might be missing the last edit or edits.Thanks! 

Hi,I'm trying to create a custom hotspot that works as a quiz object. I want to show a different non-animated image at the location of the click depending on whether the answer is correct or incorrect (only the same animation is currently allowed for all hotspots on the same quiz page). I feel like there should be a way to do this in javascript, but I don't any experience coding. Is there?Thanks!

Hi,wie kann ich bei den Quiz-Meldungen (Success/Failure/...) Beschriftungen (Captions?) statt Smartshapes verwenden? Ich habe ein bereits fertiges Projekt (von einer Kollegin erstellt), in dem dies der Fall ist (sie konnte mir leider nicht erklären, wie es dazu kam) - aber ich schaffe es nicht, das in einem neuen Projekt selbst zu erstellen. Die Formatierung soll aber identisch sein - das ist leider so nicht möglich (ich benötigen den Beschriftungstyp "Frozen"). In den Voreinstellungen kann ich nur die Smartshapes auswählen, keine Beschriftung. Im Objektmanager kann ich beides bearbeiten, aber nur die Smartshapes werden verwendet.Ich habe in den Voreinstellungen die Option "Textbeschriftung für SFH-Beschriftung statt Smartformen verwenden" aktiviert, nachdem ich in Blog post zum Quiz davon gelesen habe - das hat leider nichts geändert (vielleicht habe ich auch nicht alles richtig verstanden). Vielen Dank!

hello all.I need to create documents in many languages, now in Arabic.First problem: normally i duplicate an english document and put the new language there step by step.For arabic I set the default to right to left and nothing happens in the document. But in a new document it works - at first glance (more about this later).I suspect this is a bug(?)  Because it is similar with the default textes in the quiz slides: they only change when you insert a new slide, but not with in the existing slides.It is a lot of work to create the documents again. Does anyone have any experience?Second problem:  When I create a new document in arabic the following happens with texts:1. the point at the end of the paragraph is always at the bottom right of the text box. It should be at the left of the last word. Does it work for anyone?2. there are some german words in the text (e.g. product names). When this happens, the word order suddenly changes completely.(see picture)Many thanks in advanc

Hello all! I have seen posts in here about Drag & Drop slides not resetting but I haven't seen an issue similar to mine so I'm hoping someone out there may have a suggestion. I have been trying to create remediation with a D&D slide and followed along with a great video by Paul Wilson that does exactly what I want. However, when Paul tests his project, makes the user 'error', does the remediation and returns to the D&D slide, (at 12:42 in the video), his interaction is reset. My test project works perfectly until that point. I test the project, make the user 'error' until I force the remediation button and do the review, but when I return to the D&D slide the interaction is still completed. Further, the project just continues on and goes to the next slide.  I'm fairly sure I followed the steps as Paul does in the video - it's not a complicated process - but then again I'm also sure I'm missing something silly, as otherwise it should work.  

Looking to animate a screwdriver unscrewing a screw and completing after holding the mouse down for 5 seconds.  Really just need screwdriver to animate from starting position to on top of screw head. This is my first attempt at doing "advanced animations" using Javascript so any advice is greatly appreciated!
