Not sure if this is possible but maybe with some configuration in the published files.To be able to change the background on first slide visible to the user at also change the play button is really usefullBut what if I would like to remove the button all together and make the user click the button I would like. As seen in the example below I would like the user to click the black button reading "starta kurs"Or, alternativ, alow the full area to be clickable to "activate" the course.Could this be done by for eample edeting some sourcefiles in the export? 

Hello,Captivate 2019, Build 11.5.5.553.I have been fighting this issue for hours - literally. I have a slide with 81 seconds of audio and two pauses (Click to continue). As you move along the timeline, the synchronization between the audio and the slide objects gets further and further out of sync. I've seen this before but not to this extent.I had to add a 2.5 second gap to prevent the audio from continuing at the second pause and then after that, I had to shift objects to the left to ensure they appear at the right time in sync with the audio. I had to make these adjustments after publishing because it is even worse on the LMS, so I'm basically guessing where to drag the start of each object. As you can see in the two images, after the first pause, I was able to align my timeline objects with the gaps in the audio. Starting with and after the second pause the gap in synchronization increases.First pauseSecond pauseIs this common and are their any solutions? I did get it working

If I want to change from perpetual license to subscription how can I do that? 

In my project, a number of slides are built where upon entering the slide, a smart shape button object displays with text and pauses at 1.5 seconds. Upon clicking the button, an Advanced Action is triggered and the playhead advances through the slide. One of the objects at about 3 seconds is a shape object with audio attached - maybe a 5-second narration. Let's call this shape ABC.When previewing, everything works fine, including all the Advanced Action logic that shows and hides objects and also jumps the play head around. So there is some complexity, but it all works fine.However, after actually publishing the project, some of the ABC objects, with the 5-second narration, have the tail end of the audio cut off. And, it's not always the same slides that exhibit this behavior. All the slides in question have plenty of room for the audio to play. And other objects with audio attached don't seem to have this problem. I know the playhead is still moving because I'm monitoring the current

I had installed adobe captivate 2019 on my computer which has now completely stopped working. How can I deactivate captivate 2019 from a computer that is no longer available?

In previous versions of Captiave (Cp9 and 2017) occasionally I'd end up with what appeared to be a duplicate of a course, but it had a .cptx.bak extension, and was larger than the non-bak version..  For instance, Mycourse.cptx would become Mycourse.cptx.bak. What does this indicate?  It happens much more often in v2019 (11.8.1.219).I can usually just delete the .bak version, provided I have a normal version with the same date and roughly the same time.  Or I'm pretty sure I could manually remove the .bak and then the file would open again and seemed to be fine, though it might be missing the last edit or edits.Thanks! 

Hi,I'm trying to create a custom hotspot that works as a quiz object. I want to show a different non-animated image at the location of the click depending on whether the answer is correct or incorrect (only the same animation is currently allowed for all hotspots on the same quiz page). I feel like there should be a way to do this in javascript, but I don't any experience coding. Is there?Thanks!

Hi,wie kann ich bei den Quiz-Meldungen (Success/Failure/...) Beschriftungen (Captions?) statt Smartshapes verwenden? Ich habe ein bereits fertiges Projekt (von einer Kollegin erstellt), in dem dies der Fall ist (sie konnte mir leider nicht erklären, wie es dazu kam) - aber ich schaffe es nicht, das in einem neuen Projekt selbst zu erstellen. Die Formatierung soll aber identisch sein - das ist leider so nicht möglich (ich benötigen den Beschriftungstyp "Frozen"). In den Voreinstellungen kann ich nur die Smartshapes auswählen, keine Beschriftung. Im Objektmanager kann ich beides bearbeiten, aber nur die Smartshapes werden verwendet.Ich habe in den Voreinstellungen die Option "Textbeschriftung für SFH-Beschriftung statt Smartformen verwenden" aktiviert, nachdem ich in Blog post zum Quiz davon gelesen habe - das hat leider nichts geändert (vielleicht habe ich auch nicht alles richtig verstanden). Vielen Dank!

hello all.I need to create documents in many languages, now in Arabic.First problem: normally i duplicate an english document and put the new language there step by step.For arabic I set the default to right to left and nothing happens in the document. But in a new document it works - at first glance (more about this later).I suspect this is a bug(?)  Because it is similar with the default textes in the quiz slides: they only change when you insert a new slide, but not with in the existing slides.It is a lot of work to create the documents again. Does anyone have any experience?Second problem:  When I create a new document in arabic the following happens with texts:1. the point at the end of the paragraph is always at the bottom right of the text box. It should be at the left of the last word. Does it work for anyone?2. there are some german words in the text (e.g. product names). When this happens, the word order suddenly changes completely.(see picture)Many thanks in advanc

Hello all! I have seen posts in here about Drag & Drop slides not resetting but I haven't seen an issue similar to mine so I'm hoping someone out there may have a suggestion. I have been trying to create remediation with a D&D slide and followed along with a great video by Paul Wilson that does exactly what I want. However, when Paul tests his project, makes the user 'error', does the remediation and returns to the D&D slide, (at 12:42 in the video), his interaction is reset. My test project works perfectly until that point. I test the project, make the user 'error' until I force the remediation button and do the review, but when I return to the D&D slide the interaction is still completed. Further, the project just continues on and goes to the next slide.  I'm fairly sure I followed the steps as Paul does in the video - it's not a complicated process - but then again I'm also sure I'm missing something silly, as otherwise it should work.  

Looking to animate a screwdriver unscrewing a screw and completing after holding the mouse down for 5 seconds.  Really just need screwdriver to animate from starting position to on top of screw head. This is my first attempt at doing "advanced animations" using Javascript so any advice is greatly appreciated! 

I was gonna submit this to the Captivate Feature Request/ Bug Report page, but it seems to be broken and heads to an inMoment login. (boo Adobe...) Anyways, being able to auto add a (var fontlink in JS) to have the typekit fonts appear in the local preview would be very helpful for those people who dont have a local webserver for testing. its' great that they have a typekit button and integration, but it kinda falls flat when you can't preview the slides using the fonts because it hasn't uploaded them. (perhaps it could auto-create a typekit web project based on the fonts used in the captivate project. Then create and embed the link for testing.) 

Hi folks,I´m creating a content with it´s own buttons and playbar, but the TOC always covers the whole slide height and therefore my playbar area. How can I adjust the overall height? I did a little research in the published project and found the div class "tocfooter". now I´d like to remove it, but not every time after publishing ... Is there a way to set the height or dismiss the footer somewhere in the templates?? Thanks!

We are trialling our first captivate project, and were about to purchase a VR headset to view back on, thinking about a meta quest 2.Just wanted to see what experience people have had with this - what headsets work well, and has anyone ran into any issues getting it set up?

I am trying to scope out a project and wanted to see if Captivate could be the edit software to use. I would like to create personalised videos in which users fill out a questionnaire and this data is used to create a personalised video based on their responses. This video then needs to be downloadable. Could captivates branching tools be a solution?Thank you in advance 

HiI have recently notice a very strange thing has happened to my stored Captivate files. I have found that a large number of the Captivate files I created last year (pre-July) have mysteriously been converted from being straightforward .cptx files to backup files. The existing backup up files have been converted to backups of the backup.In addition, before that time, I am now unable to successfully open Captivate files because they (unnecessarily) try to replace fonts, but the program freezes at 50%.Can anyone help? I certainly haven’t touched these files. Is there some sort of timer only files?

Every single CBT I have created is now generating "unknown error" at the end of assessments. Even courses that have previously run completely fine and have been live on my companies LMS for months with no issue. I was advised by adobe to update Captivate to version 11.8 (which I have done) and that this would fix it, and it hasn't. I have done the trouble shooting of copying and pasting slides to a fresh project to test if they run, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which slides are corrupting or not. I have some instnaces of sides being completely fine indpendently, but as soon as I put them together, they generate the "unknown error", some that will not generate the error during one preview but will during another. It's sometimes even generating the "unknown error" on a brand new, blank project made from scratch to test. Changing publishing settings does not seem to affect this at all.  I have 2 years worth of CBT development (Almost 100 separate cour

MBP M1 Max using macOS Ventura 13.3.1External 32" LG HDR 4K Display When working on a project, if I drag the window to be larger, the 'slide' will move up into the corner of the window out of frame. I assume this is because the UI hasn't been fully updated for 4K screen sizes. Used to have a similar problem with Illustrator a long time ago. Not a problem per se, but annoying if using a large sized display. 

Hello all,I've created a Captivate project where I am adding knowledge check overlay slides to a video but for some reason when I go to preview my project in HTML 5, each knowledge check overlay slide jumps to another overlay slide instead of continuing the video. How do I fix this?

The newest release of Captivate has a bug.  When inserting a PIP video to a CPVC project, the process seems the same as the previous version, there is a step of extracting the audio visible, however, once the video is finished importing/inserting, the audio is not available:  It does not playback with the inserted video.  The audio is not in the library.  HOWEVER, in the library, the "thumbnail" at the top has a play button, and the audio can be heard as the preview plays.The only workaround I can think of is to extract the audio manually outside of Captivate and import it separately into the CPVC project and add it from the library to the appropriate PIP.  Any other ideas?  Am I missing something?  (Btw, this occurred in a colleague's install.  I had not executed this task in my own update, yet, but both install updates behave the same.)

To start - I've read several blog posts and forum entries before creating my own post. Ive also spoke with my LMS (Absorb) support and they said that Captivate can send this kind of data to the LMS and Ill be able to report on it.  In all of my tests I can pull the report in Absorb, but its being sent as a Multiple choice quiz, not a survey. So! I'd prefer to do this without using Quiz slides, but if thats all I can do, thats all I can do.. I simply need to have text entry boxes that can report the text entered by the user to my LMS. I've tried a method of assigning variables based off this blogpost http://blog.lilybiri.com/answer-key-for-surveyBut that got me nowhere for reporting. I tried doing Short Answer questions set as Survey - no luck either. I tried this as xAPI, SCORM1.2 and 2004. Any detailed help would be appreciated. What am I missing? 

Hi guys, apologies for the n00b question. I have a slide with 3 button that are multi state: I just need an image to pop-up when each button is clicked.  The problem is lets say I click "button 1" and then go to click "button 2" the clicked state from "button 1" is showing up behind the pop-up state of "button 2". I want the other buttons to revert back to their default states whenever a new button is clicked.

Man kann diese bei Bedarf einfügen, aber ich möchte sie nicht vorab für jeden Button automatisch drin haben. Da die verwendeten Smartshapes verschiedene Farben haben können, ist es leider auch nicht hilfreich, den Status "Rollover" und "Answer" im Objekt-Manager bestimmte Farben zuzuweisen, die sich immer mit dem "Normal"-Status decken.Vielen Dank für Tipps!Tina

There is a consistent ask from the users/customers for short/micro videos not more than few seconds (less that a minute). I am trying to figure out a way where we can build multiple short/micro videos and combine them into a full elearning couse as and when required. Typically, I would have 5 different .cptx source files of micro/short videos. And when I need to combine them into an eLearning modules I will create another source file and just copy-paste content of these short videos into one big video.Any tips on this? Or is there a smart/better way to do it?

I know I can do this easily with an on success action and it works perfectly.I also know that I can play the audio with an advanced action and it works fine.But...
