Captivate

Hello Two quick questions I'm trying to get two rectangular shapes in a responsive project to be the same size; however, when it try to resize one shape in the fluid box it alters the size of the other shape. I've tried dragging and I've tried the postion tab in properties. How do I get both shapes to be the same size? When I copy and paste the two shapes from one fluid box into another, there's resizing happening that makes things out of alignment by a pixel or two. When I try to resolve this I'm getting stuck with the problem mentioned in question 1. Both fluid boxes have the same settings. This is taking my OCD to another level. Assistance appreciated.

Having issues with an embedded mp4 file playing in a resposnive project on ipads. The file plays with no issue on android devices. Has anyone else had this probelm and how do you fix it? Captivate 2019 version 11.5.1

Hi,  I’m having an issue on my slides, I have added a 'next' button for users to click to continue to the next slide, my manager is wanting this to be taken out. I have a voice over on pretty much every slide and instead of it continuing to the next slide it’s automatically stopping unless I use the play bar along the bottom to continue or the user clicks the next button I have created, is there a reason for this also, am I missing something? Thank you,Meghan 

Hello everyone,I am wondering if it is possible to limit your learners to only 1 selection on a HotSpot Question? I have been stung by this a few times when answering a hotspot question, I have clicked in the correct place, then misclicked the submit button, not realising another selection has been made, then correctly clicking submit and failing a question due to having registered 2 locations, rather than just the original selection. It would be really helpful if I was able to limit the number of selections a user can make.

Hi...I'm finding Articulate is not powerful enough to automate tasks as I'd like.  For example, I want to create hundreds of branched scenarios.  While I could break this into maybe 20 per mini module, it's still hundreds of branching scenarios which I'd like to find some way to much more rapidly create.  Does anyone know how well Captivate does this?  Possibly with additional programming? (I haven't used it in more than 5 years.)  Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have been struggling with an issue when I’m doing my text entry boxes, I have voiceovers on my videos now when they users inputs the word correctly there is a big delay from one slide to the other.. I believe it’s because of the voice over, could this be the reason why? And if so how do I stop the delay once the user has inputted the correct wording? Thank you,Meghan 

  

 I receive errors when attempting to link a YouTube video using the following methods:Interactions - Learning Interactions - Carousel  "Error loading video content. Please check the video id and try again." Media - Video - Slide Video - YouTube .  Freezes at 50%; cancel then get error "Video encountered an internal error."Interactive Video - Insert Video - YouTube.  Freezes at 50%; cancel then get error "Video encountered an internal error."From the ribbon - Video - Insert Video… - Slide Video - YouTube.   Freezes at 50%; cancel then get error "Video encountered an internal error."  Then I used our old template that we created when we had to manually embed YouTube codes in order for the videos to work.  Captivate has removed this from their program, but since it is in the template, I was able to access it.  This is what happened when I used this method and selected Address rather than Embed Code as the method  "Please update y

Hello everyone,I have a problem that I have not been able to troubleshoot, and I hope that someone here will be able to help me. I have created some carousels, and each panel on the carousel contains an image and some text. When I test the carousels, I can click the right arrow and progress forward through as expected. When I click the left arrow to go back through the carousel, everything works until I get to the default slide (which is the first slide when viewing the carousel from the start). The text displays, but the accompanying image does not. I am attaching screen captures that show the following: the default state, the state that displays when I click the right arrow, and then the default state as it displays when I go back to it using the left arrow.For reference, I am using Captivate 2019 and have installed the most recent update. HelloGood Morning/Good Evening, Sorry for the trouble.  Tried to solve the problem, but couldn't solve. That is why reached out.There is a scenario in a captivate with the diferent topics/groups.1) Challenge2) DiscussionThere are two buttons in challenge group & two buttons in discussion group, in "Challenge" group, out of 2 buttons any 1 button should be clicked & in "Discussion" group, out of 2 buttons any 1 button should be clicked to activate the next button on the main slide. If the learner click the two buttons from the same group then the next button should not activate/appear.Challenge button 1 will jump to chapter 1, Challenge button 2 will jump to chapter 2Discussion button 1 will jump to chapter 3, Discussion button 4 will jump to chapter 4. Is there any advanced action to solve this problem? 

So this is my first foray into using Assign Values, and I might be missing something.I have 5 buttons that lead to 5 slides I want the viewer to visit. I built an advanced action that takes them to the slide, changes the button color to visit state, and assigns a value (one for each button) to 1.Then I have another advanced action set to look for each of the 5 values and if they all equal 1, to show an exit button. But the exit button never shows. I know that the rest of the advanced action is working. The color changes and we go to the slides. And I know that if I change the conditional from "If all are true" to "If any are true" then the button always shows up after I visit the first of the 5 slides. Am I missing something with the "If all are true"Advnaced actions shown below.

HiI have a course where the user must answer a question by typing in an answer containing certain words. When the feedback for correct answers show I would like to display what the user have typed in.Example: Your answer "the users answer" is verry good. The answer "........." would also have been correct.I would like this to show up inside a text box that is triggered to show if the words are in the answer using advanced action.

Hello all, I have a problem with a content carousel slide not "resetting" upon a return to the slide. Here is the flow: 1. Slide A is a 3 item content carousel (content is placed on a smart shape with the following states: Normal, Notes01, Notes02, and Notes03). I have shared actions for forward and backward buttons. The smart shape button to go to next slide (which I have labeled as Continue) remains hidden until all the content in the carousel has been viewed. Users can go back and forward as much as they wish in the content before leaving the slide by hitting the "Continue" button (which I have set as "on succes" to take viewers to next slide). It works as intended on the initial visit.2. Clicking Continue takes viewers to a knowledge check slide.  The knowledge check slide has submit and back buttons visible.3. If a view opts to go back to review the content carousel from the KC slide, the fwd and back buttons are inactive, or they become inactive after a few cl

Version 11.8.1.219 I have reordered some slides and everything shows the correct order in the filmstrip. When I preview to HTML5 or Scorm Cloud the new order is not reflected. All other edits to the slides are present. Is there a step I'm missing to make these changes?

I am working on a medical project, and there are quite a few words that are pronounced incorrectly, as well as there is a propriety lexicon that my organization uses, and they just dont get pronounced appropriately by the TTS.  I know that in older versions there was a English User Dictionary Editor that allowed you to define to Captivate how something should be pronounced... but I cannot find it in Captivate 2019.  I would be very grateful if anyone could point me to the appropriate location of this program!Thank you in advance!

I created custom closed captioining with an advanced action and it worked properly.Upon start the CC would not show. If learner wanted to view CC and clicked button it would show. Then I added and removed the Captivate Menu/ Table of Contents.From there the CC starts automatically and I can not get it to hide upon start of course, like above. I tried to copy and paste the entrire cousre into a blank course.Though the course copied over, the problem remained.Maybe someone here can see something I am not doing correctly.Advanced action uploaded (please ignore that the tab is called mute/ unmute).Thanks in advance! 

I'm working with multiple png files to build up a scene; however, try as I might, Captivate isn't giving me the image sharpness required.I'm importing the png files at precisely the correct pixel dimensions, no scaling up or down required once in Captivate. I'm also working with shapes, but the shapes I create using the Captivate tools are not the clean, crisp, super sharp shapes created in Illustrator or PowerPoint. I'm new to Captivate (using trial version), so I think I'm missing something basic here, but what? Set up:Captivate 2019 (trial)iMac Retina 4K running Ventura 13.2.1

Hello! I have a video that has a transparent background that I am trying to get into captivate. but it is telling me that the file isn't supported.  Research says I need to do an FLV file but media encoder doesn't allow that anymore?? Anyone know how I can import a QuickTime video with a transparent background? The transparent background is key here!!

Hello everyone,I know this question has often been asked, but is it possible to matter in a transparent video in Captivate? I found tutorials showing that, but it was on the old version of Captivate and especially with a .flv file, but now it is no longer possible to export this way on After Effect, therefore I am forced to use a "Quicktime" file.There is any alternative ?Thank you

Any help on this is appreciated.I have a Captivate project that needs to have 4 slides with videos separated with a quiz question (that is acting as a 'save point') in case the project is closed and the viewer doesn't have to start from the beginning. When I preview the project, I am able to view each slide with it's following quiz question all the way through without any problem. But when I click the "rewind" button on the toolbar, so the viewer can watch the content again, I can make it to the first video and quiz question, but when I try to advance past that first question, it sends me to the second question, then third, then fourth. I am unable to view the other three videos that are on separate slides. Does anyone know why that 'advance' button during reviewing is skipping the last three slides with videos and how I can get it to just review the entire project again? Thank you!

HiI have added interactive buttons to slides in Captivate but these are not working when publishing to video. Can you please give me a heads up if this is possible and how to do it? Thanks so much

Hello every onei have macOS system montery and when i install Captivate 2019  This problem occurs and that. I can't find a solution for itWhile installing the 2019 release of Captivate, the following error message displays: I found a solution to this problem in this link: (https://helpx.adobe.com/mena_en/captivate/kb/error-183-installing-captivate-2019.html)But for the Windows system and I want to know the correct way for the Mac systemThx 

I am simply trying to copy and paste an object from one slide into a 360 slide. I am fairly tech saavy, yet this simple function is beyond me. I also cannot upload assets (buttons) that I can paste into slides...so how do you insert consistent custom buttons in a project? In canva, I can go to a panel and clieck on what I want to insert, for example. I should be able to upload images (buttons) to use throughout the project, particularly if I can't just copy and paste them into another slide. 

Can anyone describe the difference between these 2 offerings?Many thanks.
