Captivate

Hi everyone. I did a series of text entry boxes in four consecutive slides. The problem is that in the fourth entry box, when visiting a second time such slide, a tooltip with previuosly entered data  appears, but I don´t want it. Funny thing is that in the three previuos boxes no tool tip appears. In all cases, the "retain text" is unchecked. Why in the last box the tooltip appears? Any hint?

Hi All,I'm trying to allow learners to pause an event video - I used Paul's tutorial to create play/pause buttons (which works great!). Now I want the learners to receive feedback if they pause either too early, too late, or at the right time.So - video plays, learner is instructed to pause when they see a certain thing on video, if they get the right timing they get a Positive feedback, if they are too early  or too late, they get a "too early" or "too late" feedback. Any suggestions? Tutorials? Help please?gator

I've seen a lot of posts on how to compare a value to v_null in order to make sure a field is not left blank. I'm trying to solve the opposite -- I need some fields to actually be blank and can't figure it out.  Help! (please!)

Has anyone found a way to stop the browser autocomplete dropdown choices from being shown on TEBs in a published project? Preferably by adding the form or input autocomplete attribute to the Captivate publish template, but even manually adding it post-publish to every project would be better than nothing. We're seeing the same issues previously reported where if a user picks an item from the autocomplete choices, the form auto submits, causing a loss of data in the record. Primary browsers are Chrome and IE. Thanks!

Hello, I've imported a CSV file into Captivate to create a quiz, using a template that a teammate made. On some of the answer choices the parentheses is missing behind the letter A) B) etc. Almost looks like it's on the line below the letter (see picture). Any idea what's causing this or how to correct it? It's not broken but aesthetically it's driving me crazy.

Hi,My drag-and-drop interactions aren't loading when I preview or publish the course. It's a super simple interaction because it's meant to be an example exercise for a more complicated one later. However, with just two drop sources, I can't get it to run right. I have 5 drop targets because there are 5 options for the users to choose the correct ones. I'm only using two of them as correct answers for this example interaction. I've tried removing the 3 unused drop targets and still nothing. I tried using the D&D wizard and using the D&D panel, as well as establishing the Correct Answers, but nothing works. I also made sure all the necessary objects start at the beginning of the timeline. It's affecting my whole project. If I preview any five slides without it, there's no problem. If I preview the whole project or any 5 slides WITH the D&D interaction, the whole project won't load. I've tried restarting Captivate and nothing, thought I would post here bef

This question is about using the skin editor in Adobe Captivate 2019 and displaying the playback control bar.In the published project, press the fast-forward button during playback.Then, the screen progresses faster, but the sound disappears simultaneously.Whether this phenomenon is a matter of course or whether I have not made any necessary settings, I continue to be unable to solve it.Please let me know if anyone has faced a similar issue or has any tips. Thank you.

Hopefully someone can help me. None of the previous questions on this topic have yielded a solution that works for me. I am running Captivate 2019 11.8.0.586 on Windows 11. My default browser is Google Chrome. Whenever I try to preview a project HTML5 in browser, a webpage opens that says "This page isn't working. localhost didn't send any data, ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE".  I have tried changing my default broswer. Didn't work. I tried clearing my Chrome cache. Didn't work. I tried resetting Captivate. Didn't work. Restarting my computer. Didn't work. Also please note that I get this same result no matter what is in the project. Even a completely blank, new project still gives this result. Please tell me there is something else I can try, this is maddening. 

I'm using Captive 2019, and I recorded a demonstration in some software that involved typing in fields and selecting options from drop-down lists. In playback, these appear offset, like in the images below:   Any idea how to fix this? And - how to avoid this in the future?

I'm developing a course with several videos, with 1 video on each slide.I need the LMS to read "in progress" if the student has not watched the entire video, and read "passed/completed" if the student has watched the entire video. Any idea how to implement this? Note: The LMS is Atena UOL EdTech and accepts SCORM 1.2.Thanks!

Here's the set up.  For a quiz questions, the learners have to answer the multiple choice question based on what they see in an image.  Once the right answer is selected, the image changes so they can see the correct version of the image.  My first attempt had an indication to show the correct caption, change the state of the image on success and uncheck the "Continue playing the project" box.  But then the project would just be stuck on that page with no way to advance (because I removed the forward and backward buttons from the skin).  I then clicked the "Continue playing the project" box, but it advanced too quickly, not giving the user enough time to review the correct image.  Fine.  So I wrote an advanced action script that on success changed the state of the image and showed a "Next" button pausing the project until clicked.  Worked exactly how I wanted it to.   I then did the EXACT same thing for a hotspot question

I got a CPM.js located in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\HTML\assets\js. I tried to update the index.html file to use the above file and put the following line before /head:</script> <script type="text/javascript" src="C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\HTML\assets\js\CPM.js"></script>However, when I look at the CPM.js file that is produced after publishing, I do not see the custom CPM.js file change reflected.I used to have this working, but needed to do a reinstall and forgot how to make this work again. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.  

The place where I work has just gone through a major rebrand which has included changing all typeface to the Google Font "Outfit". I installed this on my windows PC, which then appeared in Captivate and ran nicely on some help guides I am creating. I get caught in other work then go back to Captivate a coupleof days later only to find it won't launch. A quick search suggests it's the new fonts so I uninstall them from my PC and lo and behold Captivate opens just fine. So, question is, any way around this that anyone has come across? The font in question is Outfit.

I added some image, effects,  & text layers to a slide in an existing project.  They play and reappear with proper timing  when I play the audio track on the slide, but they don't appear when I preview them in a browser, or when I publish. except for one image that appears for the whole duration of the slide, which it should not.  What's wrong?

I am experiencing a severe issue with Captivate 6. Although my courses play properly when previewed in Captivate, once they are published and posted to my LMS (learning management system), the audio cuts out in random areas. I say random areas because it doesn't always cut out in the same place or even the same line of audio. I've tried re-recording the audio in the areas where I've experienced issues, but it still cuts out randomly. I've also tried copying and pasting the slides into a new project (as this seemed to fix the issue for others in the past), but that also did not work. It is extremely important that I fix this issue as these courses are the main source of training for a large change for a very large global company.

So I was trying to do this with a few key ideas in mind: I need the audio to be slide audio, since I'm using closed captions on some slidesI did not want to create custom variables for each slide, to record if it is visited or not. I am making a framework with templates that will be used for many courses, so I need it to be generic and just ... work without having to create a new variable, each time i copy and re-use a slide.I did not want to pause the timeline. Some slides may need to use the timeline regardless of the sound playing. The first thing I needed was a way to make a way to store what slides are visited and not. I wanted it more generic than a custom made variable for each slide, so I opted for a js Map(). This stores two items [key, value] and you can easily .get and .set values. So in the On enter-advanced action I create a tab that executes a javascript. I create the map, if it does not already exist. I then loop through with a for-lop, using cpInfoSlideCount a

I have a variation on a drag-and-drop quiz with a bit of a twist and I'm having trouble finding a solution. I have 4 drag objects on the left that have to be dragged 3 separate times each to 3 different cells in a table - the drag and drop objects have all been created and named in CP. Any idea on setting this up? Is it possible?  

Hi, I created a new responsive project and tried unsuccessfully to import assets into the project.  Initially, after I selected the asset (project, slide, character), I could see the message "Insert Asset" although nothing happend except for the message being refreshed on the screen. After I restarted my laptop, the "Insert Asset" message didn't appear anymore, and the asset was still not inserted.  Adobe Captivate is installed on MacOS (Monterey), and the account is not personal. I did reach out to our support team, but I am curios is somebody else had this issue and figured out how to fix it. Thanks,Beatrice

I have a slide with a video and at the end of the video go to the slide where there is a random question from a pool of three questions.If the student submit the rigth question continue to the next slide and i don’t have no problem but if he failed question jump to previous slide and when return on the random question, the question is the same to the last attempt and is not random. I would that the question will be random from the pool of questions.I’m using (cp.resetQuizData()) a script in Advanced Action to restart data to make interactive the question at the next attmept.How can i resolve this?

Hello, We have an odd situation in one of the courses we have developed. We have used mostly default templates in the course. We have customised a Try Me (Assessment) in a course, with Default scoring functionality. We have used a customised 'Retake Course' button on the Results page - with this Java script code [cp.resetQuizData();]. We have used a manual reset for the rest of the variables in the course. The course goes smoothly in the first attempt (the screens do not get stuck anywhere). But on clicking the Retake Course button, it sometimes gets stuck on a few screens (Forward navigation gets stuck, Backward navigation remains ok) - and Captivate throws some error in the browser console. Captivate 2019 version 11.5.1.499: I want to use the Glossary widget for my project, but will be creating many additional projects that will use the same glossary. The widget allows for you to upload and XML file, but the only help I can find on how to start the widget XML writing process is from the captivate versions 8 and 9. I have been able to understand what to write in the XML file, but have yet to figure out how to start it in terms of the Root and the Child being that the Glossary widget hides all the words under the corresponding letter to make the glossary organized and searchable. I am using XML notepad to write my XML file. Any assistance on how to start the root/child relationship would be greatly appreciated. This will allow one glossary file to be created and uploaded into several trainings vice having to populate numerous glossary widgets.  

I am using Captivate 2019. I made the Tab key work as a shortcut for a published HTML 5 file from Captivate in order to allow students to go to the next slide and it works fine on Chrome but not on Firefox. Is there a fix for this? Thanks 

Hello,I was wondering if someone can help me. I am trying to create an LMS for our client, who uses Opigno as their LMS server. No matter what I do though, their LMS is not registering the course has succeeded or completed.I am using SCORM 2004, 3rd edition. The program is a series of videos with no quizzes. I tried setting the completion and success criteria to user access/Slide view (15%) and quiz (i programmed points in the next buttons) but nothing seem to work, their LMS always display: "Please complete this activity to proceed" Their Opigno FAQ states that it retrieves the following variables:cmi.score.rawcmi.score.mincmi.score.maxcmi.score.scaledbut that mi.completion_status, cmi.success_status are not conditions of completion. If anybody would have an idea on what to configure, it would be immensely appreciated. Hello all!I am not good with Javascript but was able to come up with random numbers using these forums and Google.Does anyone know how to come up with a random string?  IE 6 to 8 characters of numbers and letters?  I have seen some Javascript that seems to work but not sure if getting it to work in Captivate is different as I have not had success.This is what I used for number:function getRandomInt(min, max) {   var jsRandomNumber = Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min;   alert(jsRandomNumber);}getRandomInt(0,1000);Appreciate the time!
