Captivate

When I select the video demo option, Captivate has the camera to turn on automatically as default and I would like to see how to disable this. All my videos do not require me to appear in the video so it gets a little frustrating after that 100th time to always select NO CAMERA. Thanks.

Hi,Since this morning, Adobe Captivate doesn't add Text Captions or Smart Shapes or Highlight boxes on Click during the capture on Demonstration mode !Was working perfectly the last days. I didn't remember changing any settings...For recording Demonstration, I got to the settings, recording, modes. There, "Add Text Captions" is checked, "Use Amrt Shapes..." is also checked and "Add Highlight boxes on click" too.Result after clicking on "ok" and starting the capture: Adobe captures only the screen for a few seconds, without anything else visible on the timeline!What can I do?Version : 11.8.0.586Thanks a lot in advance!BrDavid

Hi all, Just wondering if you can help please... starting to experiemnt a little with advanced actions I have created a slide which has multiple buttons on, all of which jump to a slide where they view the content before retrning back to the initial slide... as they do this, each button greys out. I have created an aditional button that i would like to appear once the each of the other buttons have been viewed.I created a Variable for all of the buttons above so once selected, they move to '1'. I was hoping i could say on the quiz button... If all variables are equal to 1, then show the the button - its not working though so wondering if i could get some help please 🙂 So you know... when viewing the project, the 'quiz button' appears on the slide as soon as entered... and whilst it looks like i can click it, its not doing anything at all.... i have checked and once i have viwed all the subjects, the variables have moved to 1. any further info required,

Hello,For my quiz, I have set my answer buttons to play audio on success, this works very fine.The quiz is in a LMS and with the LMZ user can leave the course and come back later to finish the quiz.The problem is that when I revisit my quiz, the sound of my buttons won't play anymore. There are also sound playing on other slides on the timeline and they are all working fine, I also got videos that play fine, it's only the answer buttons that don't play the sound anymore. The buttons are working fine by themself, they show the answer then go to next slide, etc.Has anyone had this problem and have resolve the issue ?Here is a screnshot of the setting of the button 

Hello all, I've seen a few posts regarding the NaN error occuring for branching courses, but they don't seem to replicate the problem I'm having.. I've created a branching course, dealing with training two different teams working with the same database, but with different job roles.  So each branch covers each team, and at the end of the training is a test, specific to their training. But I've found that my test fails me even when I enter the correct answer and I can see "NaN" on several fields of the test results. To troubleshoot, I created a blank project and set up the following slides Slide 1 - IntroSlide 2 - Menu to select "Branch 1" or "Branch 2"Slides 3 & 4 - "True or False" questions for branch 1Slides 5 & 6 - "True or False" questions for branch 2Slide 7 - Quiz results When I take the course it works fine, I'm able to select whichever branch I choose and take and pass the test (see below)So I know that my branching tests works, b

Hello,I have Captivate 9 and I am using the built-in Captivate widgets (not the ones via Assets). I have created my project as a Responsive Project to be able to view in tablets. Captivate told me the widgets are not HTML5 compatible. When I publish to my LMS, I can see the widgets and interact with the course on my laptop via Firefox, but I cannot see the widgets at all in IE 11. Is there a way around this, or do I need to tell my people to download a different browser to use my course?

I'm new to Captivate and trying to create a training webinar which will sit on our website. I'm using a couple of different fonts (our specific brand fonts) but when previewing my project they show as Times New Roman (or whatever it is) It it possible to get them to show correctly for people who don't have the fonts installed on their computers?  

I'm using Windows 10 and Captivate 2019.  I can manually upload files, but when accessed, they never open - just keep spinning.  I cannot publish directly from within Captivate.  I never get the log in screen.  I get an Adobe publish screen with a question mark.  I've deleted and replaced the name and url, but still have the same problem.

Unfortunately, I am struggling with the reporting in Captivate.I am not able to setup a course which is reporting the slide progress to the LMS.With and without Quiz, there is not slide progress reported.Even when I set slide progress 100% for finishing this course, it is only reporting the quiz results.Any idea what I am doing wrong? Any example course I can learn from?Thanks

So I had a file with the same message about not being able to open it.  I cleared the cache. That didn't work.  Now I am trying to resotre from back up file but the program won't open it.  What am I missing? 

Don't know if anyone here uploads courses to TRAIN or other non-listed LMS programs.  I created my SCORM course from a PPT file.  I am not getting the course to show as completed within the LMS.  It was suggested to me that I add a "Completion" action to the last screen but I can not find it.  How can I get the course to indentify within the LMS as completed? 

Both in the preview and the published version of the project, the bottom part of the slide is cut off. Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

Hello everyone! I noticed on one of our old builds some of the transparent buttons have areas where there the cursor is not registering, so the states don't change or the scoring is submitted. I've attached a video recording to show what I mean. However some areas of the button work as intended. I have also included a video of the button settings and states. Everything on this button is the same as buttons on other slides that work correctly. Is this something corrupted on this slide since some slides within this Captivate file work as intended? If I duplicate the slide, the button is still broken, however if I add and build a new slide the new button works. So I can rebuild the broken slides if need be, but thought I'd ask the community before committing too much time to rebuilding!

I have created a a slide as part of a software simulation where the user should double click on a certain spot. I have tried using a button and  a smart shape. In both cases, I "hid" the box, not by using the eye, but I changed the opacity and the frame width to zero. I then created a custom state with a red 2 point frame. I created an advanced interaction that changes the state from normal to the custom state if the user does not click in the correct spot after two tries.All of the slides with a single click work with no problem. On the slide where I need the user to double click, it will work if they initially double click in the correct spot, but if they do not and the state changes, the double click does not work.Any ideas? What I have done so far.I have moved that object to the top of the timeline.I have the object pausing the slide halfway through (1.5s)Screenshot to see if that helps.The question is, what is causing the double click not to work?

I cannot publish any project to HTML5 without getting the "Error(s) - Could not copy Folder to /...." I am on a Mac and just upgraded to the latest version of the OS. I am running Monterey Version 12.3.1. Troubleshooting/Things I've already tried:Created a brand new blank project - nopeUsed a project that had previously been able to publish on a PC - nopeCleared cache - nopeTried publishing it in MANY locations, same error. My project is not located on a shared drive, and I am not publishing to a shared driveUninstalled and reinstalled - this kind of works, but only the first time I publish. After that, the same errorI've installed the special version of Adobe Captivate 2019 that is supposed to play better with mac - still getting the error. I tried removing all spaces, punctuations, numbers and underscores from my project name and the publish name.   If anyone has ANY suggestions or things I can try, I am all ears! 

I am trying to update the skin for my Captivate 6 project, but all of the options are  greyed out no matter which skin template I select. This appears to be an issue with just this one project, but I have no idea why they have become greyed out. Likewise, In the Table of Contents tab of the skin editor, I am unable to enable navigation and deselect the option that prohibits users from moving to a slide they haven't yet viewed. So, when I publish the project, there is no navigation bar nor is the table of contents active for navigation - even for slides that have been viewed.I need to get this project done today and just realized this was happening late yesterday. Please HELP!!!

I have 13 days to make a product demo with captivate.  I have been using storyline for 4 years, and the learning curve with adobe is challenging.   One of my issues is using a video on a slide, and I wanted to put callouts over the video (text boxes fading in and out describing things in the video) and I cannot get the video to play in the timeline so I can add and adjust timing of objects.   I also cannot seem to figure out how to get the submit button to work using the text input box, I hit the button and nothing happens, nor can I figure out how to get the "next" button I have put on the slides to be hidden, and triggered to be visible when the user hits the "submit" button that is attached to a text input box.  

Set defaults for new text boxes in a publication Right-click the text box that has the formats you want to use as the default. On the shortcut menu, click Format Text Box, and then click the Colors and Lines tab. Select the Apply settings to new text boxes check box. Click OK.   Moderattor: URLs are not allowed, took it out. Moreover this post doesn't relate to Captivate at all.

Hello there, I have a Captivate compliance course that is marking "complete" for most of my test-user population, however, not for others - specifically a Chrome user. There is not a quiz in this ecourse, so I used the "incomplete->complete" settings, with completion set to 80% Slide Views. The LMS being used is SAP SuccessFactors. The several other users did not have any issues. I've also tested this in SCORM Cloud and received no parser warnings, and "Congratulations, your manifest looks great!" - I'm not sure if I should be looking for additional information on possible errors or red flags with the zip file. I do have some buttons and click boxes, but I don't believe there is not a lot of space left at the end of those slides to cause completion issues. I also have an Exit button at the end of my course, which exits the ecourse, and I believe closes the LMS. Could this be the issue? I've included my publish settings below.   Any help with this w

Hi all, I had a 30 day trial in Captivate and made some projects. I've now purchased the software and all my projects are corrupted. I've looked at the recovery instructions and downloaded dcache.zip but my computer says I also need to install adobe air. Air is a paid program as far as I can tell and I'm having trouble finding a link to it on the adobe site (the installer just links to a blog) and it's paid on reputable sites elsewhere. Is there an alternate to adobe air? Or a more simple way of getting corrupt Captivate files back? Adobe assured me that you could recover projects if you reinstalled the software after the trial. Boo. All that work.

Hello,I would like to use a variable inside of the "Accessibility Title". This variable is updated every few slides to a new name, which is why I chose to store the text in a variable rather than hard-coding it. How can I apply this variable to the Accessibility Title?
