Captivate

Hi,Is there any way to change the text to speech properites? I need Captivate to read read "slash S" in stead of "per second" when i type "/S"? I also need the Closed Captions to display "/S". I am also trying to find a way that captivate will read "20160" as "two - zero - one - zix - zero" instead of "twenty thousand one hundred sixty" I need the closed captions to display "20160" while it is reading what I want it to read.  I have been googling but haven't figured out if it is posible to change how Captivate reads the text to speech. I have tried different combinations, but the closed captioning and the text to speech always wants me to regenerate the audio/closed captions when I update one and not the other. Any advice would be great! I've seen multiple posts about this, but no real answer that makes sense or worked. I am on captivate 9 and I'm trying to import audio over some slides and I keep getting this error "You have reached the minimum display time for slide X" I've read every community post and yet no resolution. Frankly, I don't have time to clips this over all of these slides. Here is a video of the issue so hopefully I won't get unrelated questions like  "Did you try the muli slide option?"- Yes I did and nothing"Did you change the length of the slide?" Yes I made the slide as long as I could See this video (no audio) to see what I mean. Captivate 9 error Minimum slide duration  

I'm using Captivate 2019 release 11.5.1.499 on my Macbook Air running Mojave version 10.14.6. I'm creating a project from PowerPoint and I've added an extra blank slide that I'd like to play a YouTube video on. I go to the Media drop down and select "Video" and then "Slide Video". I add the url for the YouTube video and click Ok. The video looks good on the slide and the audio plays as I would expect. Then I go to the Publish drop down and select "Publish to Computer". From there I change the top option from "HTML5/SWF" to "Video" and click publish. I immediately get this error:A few slides or objects in the project are not supported in a SWF output format. The project will be published without the following unsupported items:360 SlidesSlide Video with overlay slidesYoutube or Vimeo VideosImage as ButtonSVG as ButtonI click OK and the video saves without the slide I added that includes the YouTube video. 😞Any suggestions or advice?Thank you! Marci

Hello, I export my quiz project in HTML5 with scalable HTML content option. All work fine, just I got issue when user wants zoom in and out, only on Safari on Apple smartphone (maybe the same on tablet) --> the project restarts. I saw fews old feedbacks with same issue, but not really answers. Help !Thanks 😉

I created a question pool and the background is set using Master Slides. For some reason when the quiz runs the last two options do not show a parenthesis after the letter.  On the Master Slide, it only shows two options so I don't know if this is why, but it won't let me add additional options on the slide master. I cannot seem to edit anything on the slide master.This is what it looks like after the test is generated:This is what the Master Slide looks like. Why can't I edit the Master Slide options to increase it to 4 choices instead of two?  

Thanks to anyone you reads my post; even more thanks to anyone who cares to make a knowledgeable post to my question. Ionsidering licensing Captivate but must be able to address one specific video production need.  We have a very tiny team who video production.  Some are content experts who record the raw content and others deal with the editing and post-processing. My present perception of Captivate is that video production is one of several main functions but it may not be it's strong point.   Before I can license even just one copy, I need to know if Captivate specifically supports the sequential process of one user recording video content and another user editing that same content. I know that it sounds like a basic question but it is one that I've not been able to get answered anywhere else thus far.  And, this question is mission critical for us.  No other combination of (non-video) benefits that would come from using Captivate co

I am trying to move the text on this quiz to the center of the photograph.  How do I do this?Also, can you insert images from Adobe Stock into a virtual reality presentation?  I've got a living room and I am wanting to put some paintings on the walls.  Is this possible?  If so, how do you stablize them?  Thank you in advance!

I keep getting the below error when trying to create video demos after i finish recording I am running as administer, please help  

I have created a knowledge check slide with a multiple choice question. The radio button for the correct answer is selected on the slide. When I 'Preview HTML 5 in Browser', and it gets to the knowledge check slide, the radio button does not work. I can click on the answers and hit the submit button and it shows if i'm right or wrong but the radio button does not turn on to indicate to the user that they have selected an answer. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

I need to do some (hopefully) automated edits.I have let's say a course, it has a few dozen images in the library - however, the images are in bitmap format (BMP), and I want to shrink the size of the BMPs by converting them to jpg while retaining the same pixel height and widths..  Of course just saving them as jpgs will save me all the space I need and then some.I've managed to create a folder for the course and put the offending BMPs into it.  Ideally, I'd like to run a macro (on either the Captivate Library folder, or my manually created folder, that does a "save as jpg" - doing so retains the same pixel height and widths on the whole image Library.  Getting the jpgs to automatically replace the BMPs in the Library and then of course Captivate screens would be a bonus.  I have done manipulations like this in the past with different authoring tools, yet can't remember what tools I used.  I can probably get what I need however.  Any suggestions to run th

I have a short quiz at the end of my topic. I have it set for a passing grade to continue. I also have it set so that the user can review the quiz after the results page shows.    Problem is that if you fail the quiz and select 'Review Quiz', the user reviews the quiz but is not afforded the opportunity to retake the quiz. Just the 'Review Quiz' and 'Continue' button are showing. Continue does nothing as the score still reflects a failing grade.   Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,I have developed some responsive courses and published as SCORM 1.2 (have to for our LMS -Vector Solutions, Convergence). I've checked Never Send Resume Data so the bookmarking is shut off. I've had some people experience the following:Launch the trainingClose before completeWhen they relaunch, they get a message asking if they want to pick up where they left off (image is attached to this postWhen they say "yes" and they complete the training, the training does not "complete" (because they haven't satisfied the completion criteria since their initial session progress was not saved)Any ideas why the system would still ask if they want to pick up where they left off if bookmarking is shut off? Is this not a function in responsive and/or SCORM 1.2? Thanks

Dealing with 508 compliancy I have built a customized project to address the various issues for keyboard users and this is the last one I have. Hi all,I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a quiz with multiple questions. If the user doesn't pass, is there a way to have a message stating links to videos they might like to review? something like.You got question 3 wrong - You may like to review xyz(link) videoYou got question 7 wrong. You may like to review zzz(link) video Im fairly sure I can put it on the failure message on individual slides, however is there way to display a message at the end with the results? I assume it would be something like 'If "Interaction ID 56525" is incorrect, display xyz message"' however im unsure how to accomplish this exactly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi! I have a problem with a file. Hope you have a solution. I converted Powerpoint slides and added audio to a Captivate project. It is more like a video playing with audio on one slide in Captivate and no buttons nor progress bar because the client wants the course to be very limited in options of viewing. Everything seems to work fine and works fine but when I publish or preview HTML, if I multitask and work on something else and have the course playing in the back, the audio goes in one speed and the slides in another one like if the slides show in a more slow speed so the audio looks like it's not synched. Of course if a learner does not multitask and focus on the course this does not happen but if by any chance they get distracted they may feel the course is not ok and get confused. Have someone experienced this? Thanks.  

How to disable forwarding for slide videos but keep the replay option enabled? Is there any way for this?

So one of the teachers wants the students to practice writing a script. But they might want to retrieve their script in the future. Is it possible to do that with Captivate?

When I publish my project to a Video MP4 it is blanking out any CPVC slides within the project.  The background music is still there and all other slides.  It works when I preview as HTML.  How can I fix this? 

I have tabs/sections on the left hand side of each page/slides.Each tab consists on 2-3 slides. After one tab's slides are completed next tab gets activated automatically and its slides run and like that all tabs get completed. I have copied all 7 tabs/buttons in each slides. The requirment is when the user completes a section. For example "introduction" is completed after all 3 of its slides get completed. In that case on the "introduction" tab there should be a tick mark to indicate that its completed.For your reference attaching images over hereExpected output:(tick marks on the tab based on slides completion)Please help. I ried many advanced actions but its not working. I would appreciate if you could provide a step by step solution. Thank you in advance.

Hi,I'm having some weird results happen on my quiz slide. I have 5 total questions at 100 pts (20 pts for each question). Users need to get 80% to pass. Me and my colleague have been testing the results and they're accurate for everything except if you get 1 question incorrect. For some reason, the score for 4 out of 5 questions is 60% every time. I can't figure out what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas? 

Hello! In my e-learning in captivate I need to give 2 attempts to learners to pass the test. After that, they can only re-take the test if they complete the entire course. If we only give them two attempts then they won't be able to re-take the test after completing the course. We also prefer not to re-assign the course everytime they finish it. Is there an option maybe with java to give those instructions? To tell the system if they fail two times, they can re take the course and the test? Thanks. Sofia 

I am facing an issue with my Captivate course timing out of my learning system.System/Tool specs:Captivate 5LMS – SumTotal (v 8.2)Output:Flash SWF (v9) / HTMSCORM 1.2Our LMS is set to time out after 1 hour of inactivity.  I have an audience of around 20,000 employees and many of them have to be on the phones while taking the training.  If for some reason they get a call that keeps them away from their training for longer than an hour, then the LMS will time them out.  That is perfectly acceptable.  My problem is that I am trying to figure out how to communicate to them that they have timed out.  Even though the LMS has timed them out, the course is allowing them to continue in the training.  The learner never realizes that the LMS is ignoring their progress.  When they get to the final slide that submits their completion, the slide just hangs there and my users assume that the training is broken.  Not too big of a deal with a small audience, but
