Character Animator

Hi everyone,  I'm new to Character Animator. I made a simple rig of my cat Sagan and everything works fine but the left eye. The big problem is at certain (and random head positions) the left eye folds in on itself. The pupils are not tracking either, which is a lessor concern at this moment as I could just use the mouse to move them later. But I feel like I've tried everything and can't get that left eye to work correctly. He blinks just fine. They are attached to the torso, set to weld, tagged correctly, the "Show Rigging Issues" function just says no behaviors are attached to the eyes, but when I tried adding Eye Gaze, it made it worse. BOTH eyes started folding in on each other.  See screen grabs below. Any suggestions would be amazing.  Thnx Jay  

Pulling up an old character file that has clipping masks for each mouth viseem. I tweaked one of the mouths and when syncing back to character animator the mask is now gone.  I then tried recreating the clipping mask in character animator but you can see (3.png) that it is maksing incorrectly. Therefor I have come to the conclusing that but lies with Character Animator.  System info    Application: Character Animator v25.0.0.46                          Illustrator 29.2.1    OS: macOS v15.1.0, RAM: 16.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 10

I designed a puppet, and it turned out well in the Ch scene. However, I imported an audio clip I needed to record, and after recording, the entire mouth part disappeared. I tried everything I knew to restore it, but it didn't work. Even resetting didn't bring the mouth back. I am redesigning a new one, but I am worried that once I make it record, the same issue might reoccur.  What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this? 

Hi,I’m working on a project where I’ve got a character’s mouth rigged in Blender using shape keys. I want to use Adobe Character Animator’s lip-sync technology to generate mouth shapes from audio and then bring that data into Blender to align it with my shape keys.Does Adobe Character Animator allow exporting lip-sync data (such as visemes and timing information)? If so, what’s the best way to export this data for use in other software like Blender?Thanks in advance for your help!

Is it possible to create a puppet in Adobe Character Animator that includes five distinct head turns and is fully rigged for walking animations?

Is Character Animator supposed to be the premium version of Express? I just tried out Express and its Lip Sync is way better! I don't even have to manually adjust the visemes because they were so good. I can't achieve the same speed when using Compute Lip Sync with or without transcript. They end up ok but I notice I still spend a lot of time adjusting the visemes compared to Express where everything just aligns perfectly.

Every time I try to select a puppet in character animator, I always get an error like this. I've gotten the software up to date and have restarted my computer. I also can't open puppet maker.  

Whenever I add " NEW SCENE CAMERA"  with the intention of moving the camera to have close and wide shots, the triggers move the puppet instead of the camera, what should I do?

I have two eyebrow groups, each with a normal, worried, and angry state. I set the up the way it is shown in the Chloe example puppet.My triggers for angry and worried were working fine until now. But now, when I trigger the worried or angry state for the eyebrows, the default layer ("normal) remains showing show I get a double set of eyebrows. I can't think of anything I've changed that would cause this. I tried reconnecting to the AI file, re-saving, deleting all puppet triggers and rebuilding, reordering the layers in AI. No luck.I've included a pic of the puppet rigging and the problem.Rigging:Triggering Worried eyebrows (normal brows pink to show difference)... Normal state eyebrows should be hidden!

I hope all is well 😃 Yesterday, I used the Animate From Audio feature on Adobe Express and fell in love with the character Amora lol  I was interested in using her in an animated series created using Adobe Character Animator.  Does anyone know how to export Amora as a puppet so I can use her in the pro mode of Adobe Characte Animator?  Best, J

HiI don't know if this is a bug or a setting, but when I look at my puppet in Rig view, the 'surprised' mouth has a tongue, but when I move to Record view, the tongue has disappeared. This doesn't happen with the Oh mouth shape (I'm in the middle of creating mouth shapes), so why this one? I've tried renaming the tongue in Illustrator, and breaking up the tongue group, but it never shows up in Record view. What's going on?

Hi, I'm very new to Adobe CH, and for some reason it won't detect head or body movements from my webcam. This is not an issue with puppets or their setup, because I've used lots of different Adobe pro puppets to test, and none of them work. I've had 2 different sessions with Adobe technical support, where they've remote-accessed my computer, and neither were able to find a solution. I've bought an external webcam today, and its the exact same issue. My webcam connects, I can see myself, the audio and lip-sync works fine, but no tracking lines appear on my face, and no response from the puppets (adobe tech support did the same, and also couldn't get it to work). I've tried lots of different positions for me and webcam, also tried maximising lighting, I've disabled all other software from accessing my webcam, I've changed webcam settings, I've uninstalled and reinstalled CH multiple times (and installed previous versions), I've updated windows, graphics card drivers, webcam dri

I'm using the left a d right head turner. I created the head turning profiles with side mouths.  When I apply the sync to audio the mouth only syncs to the front view? HELP! Just need to fix this last bug.  All images and info is copyrighted and trademarked to Mr. Snackosaurus  2025  

Or is the best/only way to do that by deleting the puppet in the project and reimporting the Illustrator file?

I am very new to Adobe Character Animator and am trying to create a Pilot Episode. My Character moves up when walking, it's as if he is walking on air.  I think it is something with my rigging but don't see anything that sticks out.  Can you help?

having a weird problem that i didnt have before, i am unable to adjust audio DB normally, i can decrease it like normal but i cant increase the volume of audio tracks?

Is Character Animator still being actively developed? Was there even an update in 2024? Is this the final product? I'd hate to believe that after 10+ years, this is the end result.

I'm trying and failing to import a video with transparent background to overlay on another video in Adobe Express.  I've tried using Media Encoder about 8x with various permutations of a .MOV file using Export with Alpha via Media encoder and then choosing Alpha Prores 4444 with Alpha (I've tried Prores 4444 regular too, and other settings).  Every time I drag my huge video file into Adobe express over another video it renders out with a black background.  Is there a bug in Express?  Do I have to use Premier Pro to utilize transparent background or is it not rendering properly.  I'm completely baffled here.  Thanks folks!

Hello everyone,I’ve created a character in AI and set up the two arms to be animatable via draggers. According to the recording tutorial, you can animate the arms separately by assigning a second dragger. However, after adding the second dragger, both arms are still controlled by the first one.In the error window, CH shows me the message:“The handle tagged as magnet is not used by any behavior.”Can someone help me fix this so I can animate each arm independently?Thanks in advance for your help!Bjoern
