I would like to see the puppet in the pose that I put him in on the timeline without having to move the playhead only to see his actual pose in that spot. I discovered that this is somewhat possible by deactivitaing the triggers behavior in the scene but then I cannot change swapsets or use more triggers until I activate the triggers behavior which then makes the puppet again revert to their default pose. Am I missing something very simple to just see the puppet as they have been posed on the timeline without moving the playhead or deactivating the triggers behavior? If anyone has a suggestion please share it as this is causing many mistakes and redos as I work on trying to improve the puppets' performances. Thank You!
I have a single arm that is rigged as per ArmIK suggestion. When dragging said arm, the Forearm moves behind the Upper Arm.How do I solve this?
I'm triyng to animate the front of an house, simulating that the house wall is talking. I need the wall not to move (I mean I created a puppet wall) How can I manage the shaking movement of the head in order to remain architectural fix?
Hi,when trying out characterizer I noticed that even in a neutral resting post my puppet's mouth is always open like for an "A".After this I now opened two included puppets (Dr Applesmith and the red monster), and they also show me a gaping A-mouth in my (mouth-closed) neutral resting pose.(Also eye tracking seems off and erroneous.)Any ideas what the reason could be?Thanks a lot in advance!
I cant do anything with my Character Animator. I can't create a new puppet; nor create a new puppet in Photoshop; nor create puppet in Illustrator. HELP!
Hi everyoneI have this puppet who has a gold chain connected to both its shoulders. I want each end of it to move along with each arm and dangle in the middle, without warping or breaking.I've tried using magnets, but that makes the whole thing go crazy, and I suspect it's because of those leafy gold objects that are also connected to the arms by magnets and have a physics behavior with dynamic and collide. Is there a proper way to get this done, or some cheating workaround? This is the puppet:This is the chain not responding to the dragged arm:Hope my question was clear. Much appreciated!Gil
I'm trying to make a puppet with multiple expressions, for which I wanted to specify multiple sets of eyes, brows and mouths to swap between. Having multiple mouth sets works fine with the Lip Sync behavior. However, it seems that the "Eye Gaze" and "Face" behaviors only detect the top most elements tagged with their respective handles (only one for each handle). For example, in the "Face" behavior, under Handles > Left Eyebrow, only one element is listed despite having tagged multiple elements. Moreover, the "Rigging Issues" panel lists all other tagged elements as "Handle tagged as Left Eyebrow not being used by any behaviors." Is there a way to specify multiple handles for "Eye Gaze" and "Face"?
I have a puppet that is a tortilla chip. I have a head with face and mouth and a body layer with nothing on it but limbs are parented to it. My puppet's feet won't stay fixed to ground even though I have them pinned.
when I import my animator scene link in after effects, it seems sth wrong with the puppet lip sync, it lost some frames and the audio does not keep up with the body movements. Is there anybody met the same problem before? please help. Thanks a lot
My problem is if I wanna to export my puppet without background and I wanna add background in Premiere Pro. Then do you have any solution for this.
It seemed pretty easy to add layers or groups to a newly created swap set. Just drag them over. Suddenly, it's not working. I drag but nothing happens. Are there limitations to what you can drag to include in a swap set? Do the layers need to be independent? Or am I just experiencing a glitch?
Hi everyone! I used a blank puppet to replace it with all my graphics. For my first trial it worked fine, but I have now made the eyes smaller and noticed that their blink state is not following the eye gaze.My Illustrator pupet is very simple. I'm actually just using the pupils as eyes with a blank eyeball. Think stickman dot eyes. So my blink is just the pupils narrowing - is it normal for the pupil to jump to the center when blinking since it would hardly ever be noticed? How could I navigate (around) this issue? For referance:
Is there an easy way to scale mouth sets?
This is my first Character Animator project. I imported a puppet. I added a background and my puppet disappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated. See attached Character Animator file. Regards, Mike
What's the best approach for creating a sad mouth set? My photoshop skills are still really bad.
Hey! I have two questions both related to each other and ofcourse to the same character. I'm wanting to animate a character of mine that has Minimal Facial Features - just eye brows and a big nose. No mouth, eyes, ears. Image attached. Before i get into it i'd love to know: 1. whether its possible? Does Adobe CH need all those other features to recognize where things are and what is what? 2. If within my animation i want my character to start headless - and have the body pick up the head - is that possible? Or is that something that must be done in Animate CC?
Hi i cannot start a project offline synked from google drive, on opening i get this error:libgit2 error -14(2/failed to lock file '/Volumes/GoogleDrive/Delade enheter/Flamman_Produktion/1260_Flamman_ESS/Graphics/Character Animator/Coach Duva/Ch Data/repo.noindex/refs/heads/master.lock' for writing: ) returned from git_commit_create_v(&oid, rawRepoP, "HEAD", signatureP.get(), signatureP.get(), NULL , (const char*)message.c_str(), tree.p, numParents, parentCommitP0.get()) and cannot get past it even if i take a copy offline.
In the rigging issues drop down box my sad mouth it is telling me that "Layer tagged as F is not being used by any behaviors". It is repeating this message for all the sad mouth visemes.
How to Make an Animal character?
When clicking the Start First Tutorial button in Character Animator, a message (3.3.1x6) pops up and indicates that there is an error with the file. This happens on every computer I have tried it on at our school. We have a teacher who is wanting to use this for her students. I have tried updating Creative Cloud and Windows with no luck. When you click the Start First Tutorial button, it acts like it wants to create the project but immediately bounces back with this. The folder that it is mapping to continuously creates a new version of this file every time you click the start button. Any ideas?
Hello,I was wondering if there was a way someone could delete my first post or remove the images of the puppet on my first post. I just don't know if I was supposed to share screenshot images of the puppet like this on a forum where anyone can see. I am working on with a group of people and it just now occured to me because of something we were discussing. Solved: Re: Funky distorted arm - Adobe Support Community - 11465891Thank you!
Hello! I have a question about the most optimal and correct sizing of files. My work flow is AI Puppet -> Character Animator (for lip sync, face, and triggers) -> After Effects (dynamic linked - where they all come together in a 3D scene and the rest of the movements happen). I generally try to have my puppets as big as possible, full body in CA, so I can do all my close ups in AE. They are all pretty simple 2d puppets. For this process, what do you recommend to be the optimal sizes in each step of the way, allowing for sharp closeups of characters in AE, balanced with reasonable file sizes to make dynamic linking/rendering work smoothly? Here are some numbers/info for one of my puppets, each step of the way: Illustrator- between 500-1000 pixels Character AnimatorPuppet:- Auto Sync with Artwork (always checked)- Render as Vector (Typically don't have this checked because it doesn't always work correctly)- Resolution: High 400%- Trans
Hi. When I first started using Ch - a couple of years ago - Dave recommended in one of his Okay Samurai videos to have a default dragger behaviour for the most basic arm position, then create new draggers for each arm, so that the arms didn't keep moving back to their default position. I've been doing this ever since, so I usually end up with three dragger behaviours - one for default, one for the left arm, one for the right. But lately when I do this, the new arm draggers don't seem to work correctly. I can only lift the arms to shoulder height, then they become distorted. Only the original default dragger gives full arm movement. Is there any reason for this? I'm using Arm IK with default settings.I've attached a short movie to illustrate.
When I open Character Animator, the error window shows. Tried reinstall the program, but still the same. Please provide me advise if anyone had the same issue. Thank you!
