I've always liked the delay on the Return to Rest feature under the Dragger behavior. Usually I'd set it to .5 seconds and then if I, for example, drag up my puppet's arm it would lower in a graceful 1/2-second fashion. Now, I find it waits half a second and then snaps back quickly. Is this a change in the latest (2.0) version, a new bug or user error? I'm hoping it's the last and someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong.Martin
Hi,Getting following error while generating controls from triggers (Andrew sample)...How to fix this...TIAI am having Adobe cc 2018 Full collection.Updated graphic card driver and windows updates also ...
I'm working on a project that will have a woman in a dress, and I'm wondering what's the best practice for incorporating that into the walk animation. Should we set it up with her legs (under the dress) rigged for the walk, and the dress as a separate layer over top? Is there a good way to make the dress move as she walks to mimic her legs underneath? Any examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hello guys you good ? I just finished my animation project but there's a scene I forgot to put at the first so I added the scene and taped it but I after I'd taped it ; it mixed up with the current scene which is after it and I don't know how to like push the scene ( which is after it ) away little so they don't get mixed you know what I mean ?Example : you taped number 2 and 3 and you forgot to tape number 1 so you taped number 1 and put it behind number 2 & suddenly number 1 got mixed with number 2 and you need to push number 2 away from number 1 so they don't get mixed Got som
Hi,what are the preconditions that collide work? I have build a puppet with draggable right arm, tagged it collide, add "collide" as mentioned in the tutorial. The hand should go hidden into a right bag. That works. Then I draw a "frame bag" that should prevent the hand to go outside the bag and did the same "collide" procedure. But it doesn't work. The hand always goes "through" the bag...Appreciate an answer.BR Thomas
First let me say, the physics behavior is awesome. I love that you can control the gravity, weight, friction, etc. It is advanced enough that you can create an animation to resemble a Rube Goldberg machine. The physics in my animation are mostly working as expected. There are a couple of sticking points for me. My first puppet (I'll call it the Swivel) is like a stick and has dynamics and collision as well as a fixed point at its center so it will swivel around when contacted. My second object (I'll call it the Ball) is a circle and only has collision, so it floats near the Swivel. I want the Swivel to be hit and begin to spin, then collide with the second, causing the second to fly off quickly. It'd sort of be like a bat swinging around to hit a baseball. The Swivel doesn't seem to spin very quickly and the Ball doesn't go far or fast. Each has its own physics behavior. I've adjusted the gravity for the Swivel. I've adjusted th
Hi! I've got a problem. After rigging the arms, i move one arm and the other arm moves too, why is that?

I have added all the 7 sides of face but the head turner behavior is not showing neither it's following my webcam. What should i do?
Hi all, I have duplicated the bottom half of my characters head to apply a nutcracker jaw behaviour as shown in Dave's example with Almasol (here), but when the head rotates (or scales) the jaw layer becomes offset (see image). I have tried changing the 'Attach To' to 'Front Profile', I have tried deleting and redrawing the sticks in different positions, etc. I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. Any idea how to fix it? Thank you!
I'm having eye issues. I currently have CA 1.5, I'm a teacher and the school can't upgrade to CA 2.0 yet. The eyes are a little off and when I look at each individually the bounding box is too big, both are different sizes and can't resize them. I made it in Photoshop and there isn't anything I can see in each layer that explains what is wrong. Any advice would be great. Here is a link to it.MrG2017.puppet - Google Drive
Merci!
Hey, i did my first project overall in character animator. You can see the result here. That's the way I went about it. I recorded the arm movements and lip synchronization in Character Animator, exported them as MOV with Alphachannel and edited them in Premiere. There I think the other animations are easier to make and you can work with keyframes. Is there an easier way, how do you proceed with your projects? Now to the video itself. What I don't like is that the arm movements are so slowmotion. (I recorded in 0.75)also the characters I think react a little emotionless.Which technique would you use to build in more emotions? Should the characters also be shown from other perspectives? I'm unsure here because they talk to each other all the time. I am grateful for every tip. You are always so helpful. There it makes so fun to learn new things.Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator
is there a way to hide all the controls for elements that are hidden in a rig? Say i I have two characters that are triggered using a swap set. All of the hidden objects controls are still visible making a lot of clutter to sift through.
Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity or something?
I have two logitech usb cameras and both have the same issues with audio in CA. I just bought a c922x because it can record 1080 video. CA with not allow audio capture with this camera even when you set the audio capture the same as camera which is 4100. This is more than a little strange because there are a lot of logitech cameras out there in computer land. Every other app I have that records audio works great with the logitech camera, if fact I have to turn down the audio in-put in the core because the stereo mic on the c922 picks up so good.I have a scarlett 2i/2 on my desk and if I screw around enough I can get it to record audio in CA. The odd thing is that when I turn the scarlett on the camera is disconnected from CA. At this point I have audio and no video in CA. If I shut down CA and have the scarlett running with the camera, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work. What it boils down to is a little tap dance flicking back and forth until finally CA will recognize b
I’ve tried the Wacom cintiq13 and the iPad Pro, with astropad for external display capabilities from your Mac (works beautifully I have to say), and I cant seem to figure out how to get either to respond to multiple limbs (Or dragger points) in Character Animator. it’s mentioned once or twice in the forums that the cintiq has the capability. Any tips would be much appreciated.
Dear all,I am really just starting with Character and would like to find some info on how to import a Character project into a Captivate projet and Premiere Pro project. My idea is to create a kind of coach using Character and then using in my different Captivate and Premiere Pro contents. Is it the right way to do it? And how? Thanks in advanceCéline

Hello Ch users ! Could you help me concerning my problem of rigging ? When my puppet is walking fix points seems to appear creating distortions i don't understand what i missed..My .ai file is based on Kaufman puppetThanks for your help !
Hi GuysSo i've had no problems with cpu usage up until i've wanted to put an overlay to mimic light coming through the trees and over the top of my puppet.Having it as a part of my .ai puppet is unusable, so i've got it as a new puppet (saved to like 150kb .psd as anything larger was still slow) in the scene and it works ok i guess, but the cpu is still staggeringly high and affecting the response rate. Thats with basically everything apart from Ch closes aswell. Is there a way to stop this overlay being so labour intensive?Without the overlay it runs low and smooth (around 30% CPU)I'd put it in post but this puppet might be used live so i can't have it lag and i'm going to have the light fading in an out :SCheersRob
Hello, I've been getting a fair grip of Character Animator for basics, despite never being familiar with anything even remotely similar. Watching YouTube tutorials has been a great boon and I'm confident about basic character design. Granted, I've only been at this a few measly days but I'm very enthusiastic about what I have learned thus far. However, I think I MAY have bitten off a bit more than I can handle with this latest attempt to expand my horizons.I have a character I want to open the maw (not a traditional mouth) of when they "speak" but between the layering and not having any clue how to manipulate the top to reflect my intentions and do anything realistic to give off the impression that it is actually a maw lifting up and changing perspective to reveal the open mouth underneath...well, I'm just stumped.I have a few concerns which may or may not be relevant as to why I cannot achieve this effect so please advise if I'm on the (now) correct pattern of thought, for lack of bett
Hello,i have recently discovered the fun that is ADOBE Character Animator. I have spent considerable time creating a floating head version of myself. My problem is that now that I want to go back to it and do things like add a nose and a body, I am unable to get Animator and PS to talk to each other like they did when I started the project. So, how can I reopen a project in both Animator and PS in order to make changes?Thank you.
When I start recording a performance, I need to navigate away from Character Animator in order to use another program, which immediately ends the recording. Is there any way to prevent this from happening, aside from implementing the countdown (suggested here)?
Hi, just downloaded the Proteus puppet and was changing the looks in rigging and when I go back to the scene the changes have not "stuck". Do I need to export a new puppet after rigging or something? Thanks in advance!
