it keeps crash with the SyntaxError when i am trying its functions at the right panel. After that the tested character becomes still and not following my action anymore. Any advice for me to fix it up?
I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH THE NEW WALKING BEHAVIORI have been working with the new wonderful walking behavior on a pupette - but cannot overcome a problem regarding the arms. it seems they are moving like spinning in circle all around and wont stay in place...I tried playing with the arm angle an swing button with no success. what should be the default position in the walk behavior.I would be happy to send you the puppet to check. you can have a look on a work I did using Character animator in here:HORA - YouTube thank you from Tel Aviv. I would like to export a transparent background scene from Charcter Animator and import it onto Premiere.Transparent Background ...Does anyone know how to do?Thank you,Ardoq
Hey friendlies,I've nearly finished my first puppet I just have a couple of issues. The first is I can't get the head to move like in the Chloe puppet for example, and the head just stays fixed in line with the body of my character as I move back and forth. I've tried moving the head tag thing to the base of the chin like on Chloe but doesn't seem to make any difference. The other issue I'm having is with the dangle behavior. My character has a cloak on, and I would like the very bottom of the cloak to dangle but not the whole thing. I tried doing just the part I want to dangle on separate layers, but it created obvious tearing (for lack of a better word). So then I tried applying Dangle to the whole coat, and experimenting with the Pin and Stick tools to see if they would help section off just the bottom of the coat to be effected by the dangle but more or less ended up just creating more strange problems. The base of the character body has two fixed points so the character doesn't spin
Hello all, If anybody has a free second to take a look at my project it would be much appreciated. The objective of my piece is extremely simple which is why the frustration has finally set in. All I am looking to do is make my characters head tilt slightly like an inquisitive dog and for his hand to move up and down once, although the issue I am currently dealing with is that my whole background and body is also moving when I am in the record panel. I have tried restricting this movement with fixed points, although still, the issue persists. This could be how I have my layering set out, although it could equally be something much more in-depth. I appreciate any feedback on this as anything would be more helpful than what I currently have now. Thanks,Alex
Hiya,I've exported a PNG sequence from CA and now want to edit it and build backgrounds in Premiere. Most of my background elements will be JPGs and other PNGs and my character was created at 1920 X 1080, 24 fps. I would like to maintain this size and frame rate. What would be my best sequence settings in Premiere? Does it matter?Funner and funner,Martin
I am making a lip sync video with an animated face. I watched a tutorial on creating my face and I have an audio track that I made. How can I sync up my animated face with my audio track so it looks like the face is talking?
I'm animating a PhotoShop puppet based on a series of photos of a real person. Because I'm new to this and a little clumsy I've had to return to PhotoShop many times to refine my puppet. I knew I would have to do this so I kept the PhotoShop image size really large (5763 px X 4200 px) so I'd have plenty of detail to finesse. But I'm finding it's really slowing down my computer. Switching between Rig and Record takes a lot of time and in Record mode my puppet moves slowly. I have not had this problem with smaller, lower resolution puppets. But when I resized my PSD image all my handles and I think some other things went haywire in CA. Is there an easy way to adjust down to 1920 X 1080 (the size of my scene in CA) in PS without reeking havoc?Martin
Hi guysTrying to get the hang of CA and I am running into a problem with distortion of the graphics when I view a rigged puppet in a walk cycle in the record screen. He looks like he is walking just fine, but there is horrible extreme distortion of the graphics around the limbs when it plays. I also had trouble getting the limbs to auto attach, now that the staple tool is gone. none of the limbs were attaching to the body, so I used the pin tool to pin them down.Tried using an illustrator file, thought maybe there was some problem with that, so I created a photoshop version too, exact same thing happened.I even tried opening the walkbot file and trying to change his psd to see if that helped. The walkbot animation would play fine, but when I substituted one of his limbs for a layer I created, I got the same weird distortion..see attached screenshotany help - at my wits end here! : )David
Is this tutorial suppose to end with, "We've run out of time"?It's still a great ending because it demonstrates that everything takes more time than you think it will.Thank you!Dan's Advanced MAX Lab Project: http://adobe.com/go/chexamples
Hello,I'm interested in livestreaming my characters. Unfortunately I'm unable to find Mercury Transmit for MAC anywhere nor am I able to download Syphon (the website doesn't show me a download link?) . Besides I'm looking into broadcasting, any recommended programs?Perhaps someone knows a way to fix this issue? Thank you!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHW9INtT6ogHello! I mentioned in a thread a while ago that I'd been working on a UK based American-style cartoon and people were interested... so here's the finished thing. Hopefully some of you enjoy it. All animated in Character Animator, After Effects and Premiere.

Character Animator CC 2018 functions perfectly fine in the Record Workspace, but as soon as I open the Rig Workspace I receive the following error:"OpenGL setup failed -- the Scene panel will likely be blank. Updating your graphics card driver may fix this issue. See adobe.com/go/ch_opengl for details."Drivers are all up to date and I've tried the recommended solutions found here with no success: FAQ: How do I diagnose and resolve an OpenGL-related error? ///// GL REPORT /////Renderer: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000Vendor: IntelMemory: 2112 MBVersion: 3.3.0 - Build 8.15.10.2712Shading language version: 3.30 - Intel Build 8.15.10.2712Max texture size: 8192 x 8192Max vertex texture image units: 16Max texture image units: 16Max geometry texture units: 16Max anisotropic filtering value: 16Max viewport size: 8192 x 8192Max Clip Distances: 6Max samples: 8GL Extensions: 131\i0 GL_ARB_half_float_pixelGL_EXT_compiled_vertex_arrayGL_WIN_swap_hintGL_EXT_packed_depth_stencilGL_EXT_texture_lod_biasGL_AR
Hi,I have a student (beginner) who is trying out the program with an Illustrator drawing of her grandmother's face/head. Every time she blinks the whole head is bending/distorting. Not sure what's wrong. Anyone know?
I've got a character I'm working on who has a bunch of dials on him, and rather than frame by frame rotating them I thought it would be cool to just record spinning them with the Rotation control, the problem I'm having though is the control spins the whole puppet and I can't see any way to assign it to one of the dial layers.
Triggering the head turn causes the head to move up away from the body slightly. All looks good in photoshop and in the Character Animator puppet mode ie everything sits correctly in position in each turn tween.Right seem to have answered that myself in that doing some more work on the puppet and removing the arms as sub puppets and doing a bit of body pinning the problem has been corrected. Not sure why though. Need to look at more puppets doing similar things to mine.
Hello Friends,I'm trying to find a fix for this. When certain puppets to a scene and scale them up, they look pixelated, even though they were initially imported as Illustrator files. The weird thing is this only happens to two out of 4 puppets I am using for this project.Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you,Nancy

Second attempt at doing another interview scenario, shorter than the last but more polished.
I have been trying to use character animator and can only have it run at all while the webcam is disabled. I have tried to use a brand new webcam connected via usb to see whether it was my integrated webcam causing problems. I have also tried to follow other conversations within the forums and disabled/reinstalled drivers, graphics drivers, complete system checks to ensure there are no updates required. When I was running the Beta version of this program, it was able to operate with my integrated camera. Is there anyway of resolving this issue? All of my other adobe programs work fine, this is the only product that crashes as soon as it tries to activate completely.Dell Inspirion 15R 5110Processor: Intel Core i5-2450M CPURAM: 6 GBWindows 10 64 bitIntel HD Graphics 3000 & NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M
Hey,I just loaded a Character from a recent project, where we used DUIK to create walk cycles, into Character to see how it performs on setting up automatic Walk Cycles. I have come across some strange behaviors so far.In my workflow I intended to use CA to do a stationary Walk Cycle, export it via a png Seq and than let the Character walk in AFX using some Expressions. Which works fine so far. However the Walk Cycles have some problems:at the start of the Animation the Character dips below the ground. This also happened in some situations where I used the keyboard to trigger the animation. In my case I could walk around the problem by rendering a 2sec Walk Cycle and ignoring the 1sec but in other situations this could be a major problem I guessmy Character also moves slightly up and down where his feet should stay on the ground. At the start of the WalkCycle his heal touches the ground but during the phase where the leg should stay put it slightly lifts up and goes back down.his runni
If semitransparent (Opacity less than 100%) layers in a Photoshop document being used for a puppet are appearing even more transparent when viewed in the Puppet or Scene panels in Character Animator, it is due to the Photoshop file not including color profile information. The working space in Character Animator is sRGB.To workaround the issue, resave the .psd file and enable the ICC Profile option (checkbox labeled "ICC Profile: sRGB IEC61966-2.1") in the Save As file dialog box.
I've been following along on the Character Animator New Features Part 1 video with my own puppet. I dragged the Position X Transform into the Control Panel, but when I push the slider, unlike the puppet in the demo, my background moves with my puppet. I'm guessing I have my background incorrectly placed in relation to my puppet, but I'm not clear how. I don't see the background listed anywhere in the demo's array. Any ideas anyone?Martin
Hi. I have quite a few very important puppets and scenes in Character Animator and am looking forward to updating to the latest version but I'm hesitant out of fear I won't be able to open them. I'm struggling to find the answer elsewhere. Can anyone confirm that when you upgrade to the latest version, it will open and all my puppets/scenes will be there? Or does updating require completely re-rigging and re-animating? Thanks.
