I am up dating all the programs I use. When I got to Character Animate all downloading stopped. It stayed that way until I finally just cancelled the one for Character Animate. But now, an hour later it still shows 'cancelling' as the status. How do I correct this?
I'm still working with my one eyed monster, in an attempt to understand how each component of Ch works, but the monster don't want to play ball! So, I decide to go back to one of the first tutorials and follow it, step by step. The tutorial is, Building A Puppet From Scratch.I kept testing it in Ch, to ensure it was doing as it should, but it didn't, it started doing the same strange results that I've been getting all morning! Here is a snapshot of both my Ps layout and one of the Tutorial; But this is what I'm gettingI tried changing setting and I can not get it to run as it should!?Anyone help.... please?
Now I don't know if I dreamt this, or if there is something different!?I thought there were Eye Ball Tags? It seems now they're .. Pupil Range.... I could be going mad!
Everything was going swimmingly until I decided to arm the duck with a water gun and set up a cycle layer for the shooting process. He has now entirely disappeared from my timeline. However, when I select mesh in the timeline view I can see something is there. Any ideas on what is going on? I know it is something simple, but just can't figure it out. Thanks, Paige
I've been adjusting my WorkSpace...Window>Workspace>New Workspace and I've found one that works for me.All the settings and adjustments are together and you can see the Puppet and Scene at the same time. You can make adjustments and see the effect of these in real time.. and no swapping required!I know this isn't to every bodies taste, but this feature, that allows you to customize the Work-space to the individual is great! It is simple to do, so well worth a go.In Ps you can save and share Workspaces, but not sure if you can do that in Ch!? If it can be done, I'm happy to share this Workspace with anyone who would like it!
I've been playing around with the layout and noticed that I could view the Scene and Puppet at the same time... no need to keep switching.I found this useful, because I could try out the Puppet setting and see the change.I'm use to having the layer panel on the right side and wondered if there is anyway to do this? This would make the viewing of the Puppet and Scene better too... well for me anyway!
Hi,As Preview 4 isnt able to open Preview 3 files, I originally went through the process of uninstalling After effects and then installing Preview 2 so that I could update to Preview 3 again. Now I have run into the issue where I have an animation running past the maximum time allowed in Preview 3 and will need to use Preview 4. Is there a way to simply install Preview 4 separately without it updating over the top of Preview 3? As I have many animations created in Preview 3, I really need to keep it.Thanks in advance for you help!
Error Infinite loop in puppet mesh refinementError code: (Container.js:365)Error code (engine.js:1157)Error code: bootstrap.js.3)This message shows up when I go from my puppet to my scene. After I click OK it says "Failed to create scene, please report previous error in the feedback forum", so here I am!
Creating Character in Ps...After following one of the tutorials that said... 2000 x 2000 pixels... I set up my Ps file accordingly. However, when I came to view in Ch> Scene... I couldn't see the character that well.... I tried zooming in and out, Fit option, but it didn't really work that well.Questions:1. I note that the 'Blue Guy' measures up to:and this works well.... 50%, or Fit (42%) ..... So, is there an optimal size that works well in Ch?2. If the image is larger than the viewing screenRichardI've just tried making a Basic Template: Using the same measurements as the 'Blue Guy'But.... it doesn't show the same in Ch!? Why?
I've noticed a few things when creating your character.1. When you are in Ps... you have to, Save before the changes show up in Ch. Cmd+S2. I can't change the Layer Names in Ch... you have to go back to Ps..... I take this is because it is a psd file?3. Having Named the Groups in Ps the sames as the Tag Names in Ch... when the file is open in Ch the Groups are automatically linked and ready to animate. This seems to be true for the Head and Left Eye, but the Right Eye did not automatically link. I'm not sure if this is a slight error, or something I'm missing? To correct this is easy enough, It is a simple matter of clicking on the Right Eye in the Tags Panel of Ch.
I'm starting working with Ch... making basic Face in Ps. Only creating Head an Eyes at the moment, so I can see how the intergration between Ps and Ch works and how Ch works with just the eyes.. Hopefully I'll get a better understanding of how Ch works this way and before I add further parts of the face.I have a question; In one of Dave's tutorials he mentions using the Tags in Ch as a cheat sheet for the Ps Layer and Group Names.. Good Idea!I checked this out, but I noticed that they were different colours... I think this denotes Groups and Layers, but not sure.... I thought the Green could be Groups and the Blue Layers.... but then I saw... Mouth Group!? So can someone tell me what the colours refer too?If they are Groups and Layers... a future idea could be having them as nested Groups and Layers to mimic the actual Layers Panel in Ch? This would help with forming a connection between the two? If that makes sense!?
I am very new to using Character Animator.I have followed the initial tutorial to create my own puppet in Illustrator. It worked fine at the beginning but now, all I get is the following graphic in Character Animator.I don`t know how to refresh and render my graphic to what I've created. Anyone has had this problem? My created image in Illustrator should be as follow:
I'm getting head distortion too https://www.dropbox.com/s/ipcd5j66e4ua237/Robin3SmallFront.ai?dl=0 Any help would be greatly appreciatedAnd here is the Character Animator filehttps://www.dropbox.com/s/oq495m8ss4rexxt/Character%20Animator%20Robin.zip?dl=0
i tried to send a message to you, via message in forum, but it just sat there... doing nothing... then told me there was an error! Lost my post! So, I thought I would start again, but here and hopefully it would work this time. You sent me a link to check out your latest video... New Features November 2016..This is very good... I particularly like the part about Independence. As a teacher, this got me thinking about the tutorials online, not just yours, and wondering about the real intention of a so call tutorial.A tutorial should be about imparting knowledge, which the videos do, but a true tutorial should also be a part of a learning process and this is where I am at a loss of Tutorials online. They just do a part of the process. If I was looking at teaching, or learning a new skill, such as being competent with Ch, I would follow a more progressive method.. a process where the emphasis is on learning by doing, hands-on, expeditionary learning, done in small steps.A basic le
When I tilt the head toward the shoulder the eyes, nose, and mouth move out of the bounds of the face. This is different from when the pupils move outside of their bounds.I have two characters, one works the other doesn't, so my guess is that I missed a minor step somewhere.
Ever since updating to Character Animator 2017 I can't create a new project on my server. I can make a new folder when selecting "new project", but before the new project loads I get this error:Internal error code: (726879107:1331+85) libgit2 error -1 (2/Failed to write out file: Permission denied) returned from git_treebuilder_write(&topTreeOid, rawTreebuilderP)I use TerraBlock Manager from Facilis for our server. However when I create a new Character Animator project file on my local drive, it works fine and a new project file is created. Any suggestions?
I think I get the process of rigging.... in it's simplest form... it's building the skeleton on which the body moves... so without the rigging the character doesn't move.I take it that in Ch... the rigging is mostly to do with movements with the face? The other part of rigging would relate to bones in the body!?However, I'm at a bit of a loss to auto-rigging?I read this: You can start by auto-rigging in Photoshop.... does this just mean name the layers so that Ch recognizes them?It states that you can either assemble a puppet from individual layers via, Puppet Panel in Ch, or by auto-rigging in Ps... I think this just relates to how Layers are named!?
So I've reverse engineered the Funkenstein and Andrew characters in Ps to see how they are built, but I am unable to drop them into a new scene in Ch. The character PSD's seem to import fine into Ch and I can view the puppet setting but I am unable to see them in a new scene as long as Keyboard Triggers are visible in the track item behaviors panel. Any suggestions?
Just as the Simpsons famously did for their live broadcast, we'd like to output the Character Animator video signal, either to SDI, or to an encoder we can then live stream on YouTube, or maybe even Facebook. I've just been made aware of Syphon, but we're on Windows so not familiar. Can we use other applications such as OBS to achieve the same result?
Hi everyone, thank you for the information on live streaming available in the tutorials. (Please make one tutorial only for that…) Please can anyone help me with this: I CAN already stream live into my youtube channel via ChAn --> Syphon (AE plugin in the AE-plugins folder) --> OBS --> Youtube.BUT I'm afraid there is hardly any movement for the framerate seems to be too low. PLEASE can you tell more about the settings of whatever application involved? These are the 4 tutorials in which - as far as I know - live streaming is being dealt with: 1. Making Your First Character (Adobe Character Animator Tutorial) - YouTube (Live Animation)2. Character Animator Tips & Tricks (August 2016) - YouTube (Twitch Streaming)3. Character Animator Live - Episode 3: Dude, Ramirez, Italo & Boney - YouTube (Streaming a Live Cartoon)4. Character Animator Tips & Tricks (September 2016) - YouTube (Multiple Puppets - Live via Syphon)The Links should lead to the specific part o
When I drag a scene from Character Animator Project panel into Premiere Pro Project Panel, I see the Arrow with a plus sign. However, when I release the drag, nothing happens. The Scene does not show up in Premiere Pro Project Panel. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.
I have sorted it out so I can live Skype or screen share my character using OBS but a problem I am having (this isnt to do with OBS) is audio bleedIf there is an audio on the computer, other than my microphone, so example the person I am speaking to on Skype, or just for example, a video playing on Youtube, my character not only lip syncs to my audio from my mic, but it is picking up audio from elsewhere on my computer. Is there anyway to control the incoming audio so it is limited to just my microphone?
I'm a retired teacher. I had to retire when I became disabled and ended up housebound way back in 2000. Nice start to the Millennium! I didn't want to give up teaching, so the Brittish's Department of Science and Education kept my registration and I started teaching PS, as an art tool, from the unit I now live in.As my condition is progressive... I find my ability to teach is becoming more of a problem and I started messing around with the idea of getting my support dog Finn, to talk and be my voice online. I tried CrazyTalk, but it is so unstable and cumbersome that it wasn't worth the effort. Then I saw Character Animator and the way that this links to the face and possible live animation.... I just had to give it a go. Getting the package was the first problem. I teach from home, I don't teach in school... because of my disabilities, but try telling Adobe that!? Anyway.. I'm here and just about to try out CA for the first time. I have two goals:1. Create a Finn persona that I can ad
Please excuse me for the following, simple question, but I'm just working my way through the Users Guide.Creating a Puppet. You have to select a file from either Ai, or Ps and this is done by going to the Welcome Page and selecting New Puppet from Ps, or Ai, or Importing the Ps, or Ai files. So, my questions are... Are the Template Files at the Welcome Page... psd files, if I had chosen Ps? If they are, is Import; File>Import and Puppet>New Puppet from Ps, the same?
Hi!I was wondering if might be possible to someday in the future be able to set a specific facial pose as a motion trigger? I'm currently working on a floating/ talking head type cartoon, made entirely possible by Character Animator btw and thanks! , so I'm ending up setting up a lot of keyboard triggers for particular facial expressions etc. And while that in-and-of itself is awesome, as I'm animating the puppet with my face I'm finding that I'm naturally doing a lot of "extra" acting with my face anyway. For example, I have this one puppet that is just a face, no nose, but has a lush handle bar mustache. I've set keyboard triggers for each side of the 'stache, which have really made him more expressive, but even as I'm using the keys to wiggle the 'stache I'm also doing a kind of Elvis lip. I was thinking it might be cool if I could set Elvis lip to 'stache wiggle and cut out the key trigger all together. Maybe the application for that would be to narrow to be really useful, I don't
