Is there a way to parallax horizontally only? I have my characters flat top hair that moves down and shifts out of place. I just want it to parallax horizontally so it stays lined up with the original hair line. Refer to the attached picture. Any help is greatly appreciated. Feel free to send me a link to any videos that may help. I appreciate your time.
After Effects has a relatively new system for track mattes where the heirarchy of the layer assigned to the matte does not matter. You can even move the layer around and the connection between them remains. And you can assign multiple layers to one matte. This functionality would have great use in Character Animator as a replacement for clipping masks which have to follow a precise, restrictive layer order. There's probably a more obvious example, but for a puppet with long eye lashes... If I could assign everything in the Left Eye group to be masked by the Face Background (edge of the face), except the lids, my puppet's lovely lashes could extend naturally beyond the face.
Can we import videos in Character Animator?
How do I import a rig from adobe after effects into adobe charecter animator?
Hi.I used to use Adobe Characte Animator alot when it first came out and i had a lot of fun watching OkaySamurai on Youtube and learning from him. I used my face to create animated movements. I later started using Adobe After Effects for my character animation just because the head movements in Adobe Character Animator were not very suitable for my style of videos. Like using rotation keyframes for Head using Adobe After Effects looks really smooth and professional, where as tilting the characters head in Adobe Character Animator using face camera was always not very smooth and shaky, no matter what settings i used. I am curious if theres any update on Adobe Character animator where i can tilt my characters head using buttons, and not my face ? Thank you
Newbie - New rig - Blink works, and the left pupil follows the camera, but the right pupil does not!I've looked at the character, and I cannot see any attribute differences between the two eyes, other than obviously, left vs right symmetry.I've also compared this to some of the "Example Characters" and the only difference I see is for PUPIL RANGE both the eyeball AND range are blue, but this is the way the rig auto-imports from Photoshop. Again tho, the left eye works fine, but the right eye is stuck Any suggestions?
I have 3 triggers but my Binder Paper trigger is not showing up on my record timeline. Does anyone know why ??
I am on character animator and I can't seem to get my charcter to walk off the scene like she did before. How do I fix this?
Hello everyone !I am working with Alex puppet. When i do a positional walk to the right, once reaching the destination, he currently maintains the right profile for an additional second. I would like him to immediately return to frontal view once arriving. What setting needs to be adjusted for this ? Bonus question : How am I able to combine a positional walk, with a left/right arrow key walk into a single video ? Do I make seperate videos and combine them later in permiere pro ? Or am i somehow able to do it with different scenes? There's so much to learn and I'm still a beginner. Thanks for your answers!
i downloaded the template from tutorial and opened in photo shop .and in face background layer i make a circle as he told in tut.and when i tried to save it it showed this msg. if anybody knows the solution pl help me.
Is DAZ 3D Studio compatible with Character Animator? If so, it would make my 3D animation project move along much quicker.
Hello, everyone. I have weird shenanigans with my quarter and profile angle eyes behaviour.First, the quarter angles seem to have only one pupil moving, while the other is as still as a rock (happening on both left and right quarters).Second, the profile angles has an even worse problem as the entire eye was rotating and moving around like crazy (as if the entire Eye group was tagged as Pupil, in which case it is not). The Front angle is working just fine, and all the other four angles has identical layer format (I am pretty sure I was using a conventional layer format widely provided by multiple tutorials) and tagging as the Front angle (with each angle groups tagged to their own matching angle tags).I have went through every thread here with similar problems but still not finding myself being able to replicate the solutions available in those other threads, leading to this attempt of mine of posting another thread, fearing that I might have different cause of the same problem.Pr
I am trying to animate a character running towards the camera using scale but it is slowing down as he gets bigger. I need just the opposite. He should start off slow and small then as he gets bigger, move faster. Any body had this issue?
Hello, How do you camera record without the mouth moving? meaning I do not want the mouth data
Hi, I am trying to use Character Animator to automate the mouth movement of my stop motion videos. I figured out how I wanted to set up the mouthes and everything, but I can not seem to import my voice over audio file into the project. Could you please tell me how to import an audio file into the animator for lip sync? Is this posible or do you have to record within the app (which is very inconvenient).Thank you for your time,Justin nifong
I want to first say that I am far out giddy about this fantastic tool. It works! So now, I've almost got my "self portrait" character almost looking and behaving like me, but the eye pupils a drifting a bit out of the "eyeball-socket", particularly when I roll my eyes a little far up. I've played a little with the "range" tool (the brackets around the eye tags), but there's little change - probably because I'm not using it correctly. Any places I might look next to solve this? Many thanks!
I've searched for a few days for the answer, but couldn't find it. My apologies if this is duplicate. I'd like to animate a custom drawing using motion capture. I'm unclear on how to prepare the custom artwork for mocap animation -- both facial and body animation. Do I have to break it down into pieces (e.g., eyes, eyebrows, arms, etc.)? Or, can I just use modern rigging to create a rig for the image (including the face), and then do motion capture? If you could break down what exactly needs to be done to prepare a custom drawn character for motion capture -- both facial and body -- I'd really appreciate it.
Hi CH lovers, Could you please shed some light on how we can make the puppet:1. Sit in a fixed position in a side view2. Walk then sit in a fixed position3. Walk in a different direction, rather than from left to right and vice versa. Any tutorials are highly appreciated. Thank you so much,Tony.
Hi everyone, I created a frame and a background in photoshop with size 450x750 each as PSD.i verify with selection size, image size, canvas size... they really, really are both 450x750px.Next I go to Char Anim and set the stage size to 450x750. I import both images ... the frame lines up perfectly to the pixel with the scene but the background is wider than the scene, appears to be stretched horizontally an extra 10 pixels left and right side . I check transform properties, everything is default. I don't understand what could possibly make the 2 images different ! Thanks for any help
I have added sticks to my puppet following @10959849 Samurai's instruction but it seems that doesn't work on my puppet. Please kindly have a look. Your help is really appreciated. The puppet file could be found here: Boy 1.puppet Thank you.
I'm hoping somebody can assist e. I'm trying to have my character standing with his hands folded (Like holding handshake 🤝) I'd love to hear what anybody has tried or what has been tried and true! Thank you in advance!
My puppet is done rigging, but when I switch to record mode it doesn´t appear. It showed up previously, but after adding behaviours it is gone. What can I do?

So I've tried using the compute head movement from speech with about 3 different puppets now, and eveyr single time I do, rather than moving the head fluidly, it sort of just makes the puppet's head jump to a slightly different position every few seconds, as if it's lagging, when it isn't. I also have pose-to-pose movement set to 0%. That was the first thing I checked, so it shouldn't be the issue. Adjusting any of the "Face" parameters has any effect either, at least not on the jumpiness. The funny thing is that the last time I tried this feature quite some time ago, I had the issue of the face and it's features moving far too much regardless, so now somehow, without having edited any of the puppets since that last time I tried it, it's producing a very different, albeit still broken result. I can provide video if you want a bit later on, but I feel like I've spelled out the problem pretty clearly, especially since there are several other posts in this discussion board
