Hi Its probably been asked but I work on a restricted network in my workplace. I have got them to Download OBS and NDI toolkit to my laptop. Can anyone just quiclly explain to me how to get from Character animator to Teams live? I am doing some live training materials and need it to work asap but all the steps Im seeing online and different opinions have me confused
Hello I have a puppet that i rigged last year before all of these new Character Animator Updates came out in 2022. Now that I am going back to finishing my animation I've noticed that my puppet is walking very weird which it wasnt before. Im figuring this is happening because of the new updates to CH. I see new behaviors like "Motion Library" and i would love to start using it. Before I start using my puppet i would like for someone to fix the rig on my puppet so that it can walk properly...just a little tweek. I also need an explanation on why my puppet was walking funny if possible...THANK YOU Google Drive Link to Puppet: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Blds2pYH66X_AUpqbPPJc89Tar8y-iRD?usp=sharing
Hello,I have rigged a girl in a wheelchair after following a youtube tutorial, however when she pivots, the wheelchair is supposed to keep still and not move with her body movement. Any idea why the wheelchair is not staying fixed?Screenshots of my rig attached.Video of the girl in the wheelchair:https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BodkgjSVVLjrsyOgeJwvMGMEQCDovoU2/view?usp=share_link I dont really understand the rig but this is what i learned from the tutorial and applied to my character:The puppet origin should be above the fixed lineThe wheelchair origin should be below the fixed lineThe frontal head origin should be above the fixed lineThe body origin should be very low Thank you in advance 🙂
Hello there! This is my first post here, and it is to ask for help.I would like to make a character that holds a dog on a leash.I don't want to make the dog move I just want the movement of the leash to be a bit realistic.I added in the swap set a hand with a leash and the dog.I added some fixed handel on the dogThen, I get a leash movement that I like but when I move my head the dog moves at the same time, which does not suit me (screen.mov file). Is it possible to make the dog stay put? Thank you in advance for your helpKind regardsThierry
I've added the walk behaviour to my puppet, which is working fine, but when I add the head turner behaviour, the rig breaks. What should the AI file structure look like for a Right quarter body (walking) WITH a head turner behaviour?
I am new to Character Animator. Is there a way to concatenate, say, ten 1-minute videos and create one 10-minute video? Or do I have to create one long 10 minute video?
Helllo,I am having a strange issue where my puppet disappears from my scene when I try to mask the eyes in frontal, quarter and profile views. I need the mask because my pupils are big. The mask did work before I added the walk and head turner behaviour, so maybe the head turner behaviour is causing it? or the walk beahaviour? I can send markers from CA to AE no problem, I can edit them in CA and update the markers in AE no problem, but is there a way to send or edit Markers from After Effects to Character Animator? I'd like my puppet to sync up with visuals in After Effects, and Markers would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!
I have made a scene in Character Animator and opened it with a dynamic link in Premiere Pro where I've added a video background track. I want my character to make gestures based on what's happening in the video background. So I would like to be able to add timeline markers in Premiere and see them in Character Animator. Is that posssible? If not, how can I see where to add a gester in Animator (other than just looking at the time)?
I've noticed the new feature in Character Animator for commuting head movement from speech. It is commuting but the facial expesssions are a little off than what I expected. The nose, mouth, and eye brows are moving but without the head. I have it rigged like you normally would, maybe there is a different rig setup for this work correctly. Let me know your thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, when I add the walk behaviour to my puppet, she even won't "float" after applying Hip and Neck tags, so obviosuly she also cant walk at all, she just stands still. I've added head turner, Limb IK and walk behaviours. I've tried to upload the puppet file but it says its not supported. It's also not letting me uplaod my AI file. So how can I share my puppet file? Please can someone loook at my puppet file and see whats wrong? I am very new to the program so help will be greatly appreciated.
The following information applies to Character Animator version 23.1 and later, which use Metal (on macOS) and DirectX 12 (on Windows). For OpenGL-related errors in version 23.0 and earlier, see the OpenGL FAQ. If you see a "GPU Error: Updating your graphics card driver may fix this issue." message upon launching Character Animator or when trying to view a scene in the Scene panel or puppet in the Puppet panel, it is usually due to an older graphics driver that does not support DirectX 12. To diagnose and resolve GPU-related issues, try the following: Install the latest supported/qualified graphics driver for your graphics card/chipset. Check for the latest OS updates, graphics/display updates available on your computer manufacturer's web site (e.g., from Dell, Lenovo, etc.) or chipset manufacturer's web site (e.g., from Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD). On Windows, confirm that the driver supports DirectX 12; if you do install a new driver, restart the machine. On macOS, al
Does Character Animator 2023 support M4A audio files?
Is it possible to have the "Head and Body Turner" and "Walk" behaviour active at the same time on a front-facing puppet? And if that is possible, can the puppet turn left and walk across the screen?
I've been using Character Animator for 8 months with no problems. Last week I opened it up and the camera couldn't identify my body. The handle lines show up randomly all over the screen. The webcam still works. My setup is exactly the same as it has been for 8 months. Lighting is the same. I've tried restarting, reinstalling Character Animator, installing an older version. The body behavior is active. The body icon below the camera is clicked. I've re-calibrated a hundred times. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas what the problem might be?
I am trying to export an 11 min scene from CA but every time I try to export it, it will only export 2 seconds of the scene. I have already set the duration of the scene to 11 minutes so I am confused. This is my first time encountering this issue.
Hi, I was wondering if you had an example puppet that was rigged for Motion Library AND Head or Body turning. I'm trying to figure out where the tags would go, for instance, on the Stardust Unicorn Puppet example file. Thanks
Hi Everyone,I have a puppet with head and body turner applied, and the arms in front of the head and body on their own layers. Everything is displaying correctly but limb IK is not applied to the front arms (any arm attached to the body level works fine). I have tried adding Limb IK on every front arm level and I still can't seem to get it to work. I am just wondering if anyone can help or point out what I am missing!Check out the video for a more clear explanation and a look at my rigging.Thank you in advance for any help you can give!Cheers,Cherie
I am a newbie! I am having trouble getting body tracker to work for arms. I have been experimenting with the included puppets and a couple from graphicmama. When I look at the rigging, it looks like it should work. When I calibrate, I see the nodes, but nothing happens with the arms. The character follows my head and my mouth, it also leans and follows my body...just nothing with the arms. They are draggable...but, I'm lost as to what to do for body tracking. Any advice.... if someone has a character that they know works, I"d love to try it... because I'm not exactly sure where the problem lies.
Hello. I am very dissapointed because you took off the Syphon support, in version 23. I bought a MacBookProM1Max64GB because so many reasons, but one of those is because Syphon in Character Animator (Ch) just worked flawlessly with OBS. I mean, If I use Ch with NDI, have a little bit of delay. Wth Syphon, there is NO delay, and computer works with at least 2 or 3 degrees celsius lower, that means that NDI uses more resources. With Syphon, is something that OSX have it and it´s perfect, so I just need you to implement it again. On Syphon webpage, your software is there advertising that it uses Syphon. You have to think in all your clients, and I´m a huge client of you, that uses Ch and can be a benefit for you as thousands of people sees my project live, every day.
Camera is VERY powerful when it comes to operating models. Currently when you use your mouth, it can get "Suprised" and "Smile" on the mouth setup, but what if we went to the next level? My suggestion is making facial recognision that is more than mouth. For example tongue recognision (when it's sticking out), or when we make a sad face our model goes sad too. The same goes with fear and anger.More harder to do would be facial recognision through learning: make a particular face (for example one brow down, smiling) and tag it as "Facial Expression A" and it triggers whatever we want. This could also be used to set how our face looks when we are sad, angry or scared. so it gets detected properly. The same goes for hand recognision (not fingers) so it hows when it's front or back.Maybe we can do similar things in the current version? I have no idea.
I have an M1 macbook with 16 gigs RAM and when I first started using CA it was fine. Now I'm 4-5 projects in, and EVERY change I make results in the spinning beach ball for 1-2 seconds. Is there a setting I can play with to help CA run more efficiently?
Hello I'm trying to import WAV files that I saved out from Premiere.I've checked the files and they play back fine in windows, but when I try to import them into Character Animator it just says "Error in Ch version 23.0x52" and says "Unable to open the audio file" any ideas? Thanks
Internal Error Code :(726879107:4261+46) compiler could not bootstrap. Just one of a few problems I am having. I am trying to use Character Animator in a high school computer lab and all the mechines are giving this error.
