The image is untagged, so it assumes the RGB Workspace which is sRGB. The Safe for Web dialog shows you converting to sRGB (which does nothing as the image is sRGB) but you preview with Monitor Color. Did you previously work in Adobe RGB possibly? What are the thre color fields’ values?
We open the print dialog from our CEP panel and hand over the icc profile as well as the render intent. At the moment when we hand over the print space (icc) to the print dialog, the proof colors mode in the document switches to an other profile which was used sometime before. Here is the code which we use to open the print dialog. How to avoid that the ICC profile changes in the document? drucken : function(icc, icctext, render, rendertext, scharf){ var doc = app.activeDocument; var ps = doc.printSettings; //Drucker oder PS ps.colorHandling=PrintColorHandling.PHOTOSHOPMANAGED; // ICC muss uebergeben werden ps.printSpace=icc; // Renderoptionen if(render==="Img "){ ps.renderIntent=Intent.PERCEPTUAL; ps.mapBlack=false; } /*if(render==="Grp "){ ps.renderIntent=Intent.SATURATION; } */ if(render==="Clrm"){ ps.renderIntent=Intent.RELATIVECOLORIMETRIC; ps.mapBlack=true; } if(render==="AClr"){ ps.renderIntent=Intent.ABSOLUTECOLORIMETRIC; ps.mapBlack=false; } exec
Hi!I have some problem.PS Color profile = Adobe RGB (1998). Color mode=RGB.I set the black color R1 G1 B1 and in accordance with CMYK, so I get C91 M79 Y62 K97. But if I first enter the same code in CMYK I get R5 G5 B5. Now if I ask the RGB color R5 G5 B5 in Smuk I will be shown again another code C91 M78 Y62 K97 Why is this happening? How to understand which RGB code in CMYK best matches the code. Are there colors that translate back and forth and give the same code values?Thank you.
In the photoshop printer dialogue box, under color handling, I chose Photoshop manages color, then under the Printer Profile I would choose the profile for the epson paper I'm using. I don't see those any more. Any ideas?
When I change 'Rendering Intent' (Color Sttings => Conversion Option => Intent) the size of the 'out of gamut' area changes (View => Gaumt Warning). Why is this? My undertsnading is that 'rendering intent' defines the method for handling out of gamut colors. I did not expect it to have any effect on which colours are in or out of gamut.
Hello, I'm looking to script a dropdown menu like this one that allows me to convert to the profile selected. Is this possible? Thanks in advance
I have this weird issue Ive seen certain posts that could be related to where when I drag photoshop from my xp pen display tablet onto my main display, the colour will become more saturated. This only happens when I let go of the mouse and actually drop it in the window. I did some reading about colour profiles etc, I also have a spyderxpro calibration tool and have attempted multiple calibrations/profile matches but the issue persists. The only thing which stops it from happening is if I have both displays set to their pure default settings, but then the colours are mismatched on both displays. Its only when I try to calibrate them to look the same that Photoshop changes colour. Whats vexxing for me is that other software dont do the same thing. So with Paint Tool Sai there will be no change whatsoever, both when the monitors are set to default profiles, or when calibrated. Any help to stop it from doing this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Don't change anything in Photoshop's color settings! That's not where the problem is. If you changed anything, change it back. This is a broken monitor profile, probably distributed from the manufacturer through Windows Update. That happens a lot. The proper way to fix this is to use a calibrator to make a new profile. If you don't have one, replace the current profile with sRGB IEC61966-2.1 for now. It won't be entirely accurate, but better than a broken profile. Relaunch Photoshop when done; it needs to load the new profile at startup:
I've noticed that when I go to print images in Photoshop, the print preview is less vibrant and more washed out than the actual document. Here is an example. The vibrant gradient below is the basic document:Here is the profile dialog, to confirm that its in sRGB v3.0:When I open the print option, you can see the difference (mostly in the upper right corner). The pink looks...I dunno...washed out? Here is the full print dialog, with the color management options: The images are printing sort of washed out, which I worked with the Canon rep to confirm that the printer is correctly reproducing colors. We tested the color on other colleagues' computers and they were able to reproduce accurate color. I'm not if its something off with my Photoshop settings or the printer settings? Can anyone help my diagnose this discrepancy? Thanks!
My primary edits are in ProPhotoRGB I then copy and paste into a template for export, which also changes the colour profile for printing I noticed the eyedropper tool no longer reads the same RGB values in the greyscale spectrum, i.e, 0,0,0 > 2,2,2 and (50% grey) 128,128,128 > 152, 152, 152. etc. The same applies for all the grey values. I assume something similar would be going on in the colour values too. - Should I apply a curves to change these values back to what they read in the ProPhoto original? Or at least change the black point back to zero? - Is there a reason this is happening? It seems odd that even the zero black point would change in a conversion to a narrower colourspace. Thanks,Jonathan
Hi!Currently I have the problem that in Ps, Lr and Capture One 20 all exported jpgs and tifs turn out darker, more contrasty and I loose detail especially in the shadow areas, when opened in the system standard apps, irfanview, chrome e.g.. Only when I open the jpg in the programs mentioned above they look correct.Converting the image to sRGB in Photoshop did not help in any of the mentioned programs. When open the "Save for web" (using conver to sRGB) dialog in PS they already start looking wrong, when the preview mode is set to screen. Changing it to "Use Document Profile" fixes the preview, but not the exported file. My Windows 10 system (GTX780) is calibrated using displaycal and their profile loader. All programs are using the profile as far as I could see from checking with a blue tinted profile. The same problem arises on my Notebook (Win 10, Intel gpu), which is also calibrated with dispcal, turning it off doesn't help. All color management settings in PS are standard
I have been doing this for years. Suddenly my profiles are gone in ACR. I make specific profiles for my cameras with a Xrite Passport. When I save the profiles, they are not available in trhe dropdown. Where should they be saved to apear? I just get the Adobe defaults. HELP
Hi! I'm writing because the last months I notice something that never happened before.I Edit raw photos in camera raw, then I get into PS and finish retouching (layers color etc). But when I export to jpg the color change a lot: dull, less saturated, cooler and les contrast.I can see this comparing both psd and jpg files in bridge also in finder. Really I don't know what has changed.always I edited in adobergb 1998 and export like this. Never see difference between psd and jpg, sometimes a very minimum, almost nothig. But know it's too much I Edit in MacBook Pro 2012 and 2017 both with high Sierra and last adobe versions if anyone has a clue about that, I will apreciate your help thanks and cheersnico
There have been a lot of posts about images not rendering properly in browsers. My case is a little different.I have been using Photoshop to design a GUI for the web. I set the color space in Photoshop CC to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and identified Hex values for the UI.Our web designer then created styles using these exact values, (verified with code inspector). However, when I capture the screen and examine what Chrome has rendered - the values have all shifted slightly. In general the colours read as lighter and less saturated than identical Hex values are rendered in Photoshop, using the same working and document color space. The proof setup in Photoshop is Internet Standard RGB (sRGB), though it doesn't seem to make any difference if I fiddle with that. While the monitor will display the captured graphics differently if I play with that setting, the Hex and RGB colour values detected by Photoshop don't change. For example, if I define the color #2c3741 a
I have Photoshop 21.1.2 that I have intalled/uninstalled/installed again. Every time or type of file I try to open gives me the error ICC Profile description is invalid. I don't know what this means or how to fix it. All the help I've seen in this forum is Elements. And I need help with PS 21.1.2. I have a new 2018 Macbook Pro running Catalina. Thanks for ANY help. Hi there, I am facing an issue with image colors, as I shot with Canon EOS 90D in RAW and JPEG, when I open images in Preview on my mac and also in Photoshop I can see color distortion. I have been trying to play with the settings, but as I am new to photoshop, not able to find out how to make it look as it is supposed to. Any suggestions would be appreciated. {Thread title edited by moderator}
Hi 😉I think I'm missing something with ICC profiles in Photoshop and I hope someone could light me up.I'm need to send files to the print company that conform to Amber Graphic ICC profile. Profile is installed and I have assign it to my RGB picture. Up to now, everything is fine and my Total Ink Coverage is fine (less than 260%).I want to make some color, hue, saturation corrections to my file. I'm using adjustment layers and flatten and save the file when I'm ok with the result. But my corrections has change the ink coverage to more than the 260% authorised by the ICC profile. So, first question: is it logic that, with a specific ICC profile assign to my file, I'm able to modifying it up to going out of the profile specifications like Total Ink Coverage? (The analogy is maybe/surely false but for me it's a little bit like I would be able to use color in a grayscale mode image?!)Next question: Is there a way to re-assign the same ICC profile (try it but does nothing to my ink cov
Hello,I'm trying to allow users to access the profiles on their machine via a selection box - how can I do this? The same one that's in the 'convert to profile' option in Photoshop. Please see attached screenshot - I can't find this anywhere! Thanks!
I originally meant to keep this post as it is, but for some reason adobe automatically selected a incorrect answer as correct & won't let me change which answer is marked as supposedly correct...NICE GOING ADOBEAlso, a lot of ppl commenting clearly not knowing what they are talking about and having never tested this actually is kinda annoying. I thought this is a professional community? Please don't and pretend to know life if you have no idea what you are on about... thanks.Hello, I ran into a issue with my current project where I work in ProPhoto RGB 16bpc and convert this to sRGB for web use.Now the website has a set background color of #f0f0f0, the images transition to it to make them appear seamless so in my Photoshop workspace they are #f0f0f0 correctly. Now If I convert them with whatever settings to sRGB, their background changes to #f3f3f3.I sadly can't find a conversion setting either which keeps the correct hex value.Does anyone know how to get this to match? Thanks for yo
Hello, Will appreciate your help. My work setup was changed from a Dell laptop hooked to an Eizo to MacMini hooked to a Eizo Colour Edge CS 240. Ever since we have switched to the MacMini, my print outs are way off. Think there is some problem with the profiles, I am not able to figure it out......it's driving me crazy! I calibrated the monitor using Color Navigator 7 w/ Spyder 5 Elite to a brightness of 120 cd/m, white point 5000 K, gamma 2.2, chooisng a target of " Print Proofing" as I failed to get good results with the " Adobe RGB" target. I think the brightness should be lowered but that is not the only issue. The print is way off. I printed a target image from 'digitaldog' the skin tones are yellowed. Thinking that it was my eye. I viewed the printout hours after swtiching the monitor off.....even if I am not referencing to anything the skin tones are off. The printer is Ep
Hi, I am a self-taught illustrator. I'm using a graphic tablet with adobe illustrator. I usually draw in illustrator and then I use photoshop for shadows. But when I export the image in jpeg from PSD, the colours change completely. I use RGB as color profile in illustrator. Then in photoshop I select "use the embedded profile (instead of the working space)". When I export in jpeg I select "included color profile". When I open the image through Google Chrome (e.g. after the storage in Dropbox), colors are different. But when I open the exported jpeg image again in photoshop, colors are the same of the original. What's wrong in this process? Thank you for your help.
If using a calibrated display, a scanned image...1. I am able to understand "monitor profile" and how it helps me to "view" correctly as I work and make changes to color in my image.2. I am able to understand use of scanner profile to get the colours render correctly from the file it created. So far so good.3. Now comes the printer. How can I know what final print will look like? Nearest bet is to use an "output profile" of the printer, AND use soft-proofing, to see actually how the image will come out in print, on my monitor. Right? Is there any other purpose of the profile? I am confused about it...a. As I output all my work (Indesign or PShop or AI) as PDF before printing, I get confused with PDF setting AND printer settings. Should I use printer profile if choosing ACROBAT manages color in Acrobat?b. Should I use printer profile in printer settings, if choosing PRINTER manages color in Acrobat?c. Did the created PDF already have the printer profile, or was it use
Hi, This is what I am working on, as I see it in LR / PS:And this is what I get when I export it, without any changes. If I open the dark photo in any Adobe Programm again, it is correct. But in Paint, and any other programm ( including if I send it per whattsapp and so on) it appears to dark. Monitor is calibrated. PS / LR / Camera is set to sRGB. Thanks in advance.Oliver
I hope this is a easy fix. when I open images in photoshop the faces are very very magenta. when I open them in another program on the same computer they look fine. Ive found that if I assign a profile to the image it will look better but still not accurate. When I print its really close to what I see but still a little funky. Can anyone help with this?
HiI have problems with the pantone colors in between the Adobe programs. They do not talk together in the latest version. When I choose a Pantone Color Brigde CP color in illustrator it turns into a pure cmyk color in Indesign. What is wrong. This has worked just fine in all years. I have also posted Pantone Color Brigde CP in Libaries in indesign and everything is correct whenI work in indesign. It is then a process color as it should be. But when I use the color in illustrators and get it from Libaries, it is turned into spot color.
