Digital Editions

Hi, Why is digital editions 4,5 sluggishly slow when scrolling through a book? When the book is set to "Fit page" the text is too small to read but not as slow to scroll. However, when changed to an adequate size for reading eg. "fit width", the scrolling is so frustratingly slow I can barely force myself to read the text. The app just keeps loading and loading. I need help in how to fix this. 

I bought a book with an acsm file and opened it with ADE. I need the book as a PDF file, to save it and edit it on my PC. So on my mac, when I go to documents > digital editions, there is an ".indb.pdf" but when I try to open it in Preview it says:The file “XX.indb.pdf” could not be opened.And I know I can open it via ADE, but I need it as a regular PDF.I hope anyone can help 🙂

Although the Tech Spec page lists macOS v10.8 as the minimum, I tried running on macOS v10.9 with partial success.  The menubar commands are disabled, but right-clicking on an eBook allows just enough function to read.  Also, navigation is possible only via dragging the scrollbar handle or the trackpad scrolling gesture.  I also tried on macOS v10.12 where all functions seem to be enabled.Does anyone happen to know the precise minimum macOS version where all functions work?  Should all functions work on macOS v10.8?  Can Adobe produce software up to the minimum spec they advertise?

Adobe Digital edition won't read files and library from KOBOWhen I connect my KOBO to my PC, only two books seem to be available on my KOBO.   These books where transfered many months ago  I don't have access to the library in the KOBOOnly two books  When I tried to drag and drop from PC to KOBO, I get an error message "Check Activation" Snap picture: check activation  I could use the file manager from my PC to see the library structureBoth PC and Kobo  got the proper autorisation What else shoult I do? Adobe 3.0Windows 10 64 bits Martin   

Can someone help me with this please. It's probably pretty easy for someone who knows what they're doing - this isn't me. I made the mistake of buying an ebook that had to be donwloaded onto digital editions. I can see it on the phone (Pixel 6) but I can't see it on the Lenovo Yoga laptop. I made the mistake of buying Adobe in the first place and have spoken to a few of their 'help' people. What a laugh. I've uninstalled and reinstalled at least 12 times and have de-authorized and re-authorized access on phone and laptop.  AAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!  HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have a number of books from Google Play (65 that have DRM) which I am trying to load to my Kobo ereader. When loading to ADE, 21 of them load with no issue. 44 give an error message E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED. I have contacted Google Play and they've run me through a bunch of troubleshooting I already tried:1. Checking my date, time and timezone (yes, they are correct and automatically set).2. Redownloading the ACSM files.3. Deauthorising and reauthorising ADE.4. Checking I can access http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/ (which I can with no issues). They've told me to contact Adobe support. So here I am. Can someone please help with getting these ebooks loaded?

I have been using digital editions for a couple of weeks to read a book, highlight in it, and take notes. It was downloaded as a loan from a university library, which only allowed me to view the book in its entirely in digital editions - I could not download it as a seperate PDF. When I opened it this evening, all of my work had disappeared - all highlighting, notes and bookmarks are gone. The book had not been deleted or re-downloaded. No changes at all to how I was using things. This was all for a dissertation so I am understandably quite upset that my work is gone. I was initially told by support that digital editions is old (helpful...) and that potentially, attempting to open the file in acrobat would resolve this issue and save me many hours of redoing my work. However I have already tried to open the file both on acrobat and reader, and simply receive the message 'The security plug-in required by this command is unavailable.' I have spent an hour and a half being passed to

 can someone please help mei bought a textbook off flatworld for a college class then downloaded the textbook to read it but i have to read it through Digital Editions. i have a chromebook so i downloaded the app off google play and made an adobe account but i cant seem to figure out how to get the textbook into the app or my library, is anyone able to help?

I need to deauthorize a vendor (campus ebooks) from my adobe digital editions account, but I do not have the vendor user name and password (which it requires) and have no way of getting it. How can I deauthorize this vendor so I can authorize a new one? Please help!

Hi all,  I'm having problems with some images when trying to open a PDF in ADE, those images are not JPG2000 and those images showed in other readers like Adobe acrobat reader, or MAC preview without issues. Could you give me a hint about how can I solve this problem. Thanks in advancePablo

Good afternoon,The Problem:Every time I download an .epub book from my local library, it downloads as a .acsm (Adobe Content Server Manager) which is not a problem.  So I open the file using Adobe Digital and then drag the .epub book to my Kobo.  Unplug my Kobo and try to open the book on the Kobo and I get a message about can't view content because not authorized please contact adobe for more help.Things I've Tired already:1) I have deauthorized both the computer and kobo and then authorized again then attempted to drag epub on kobo and I get the same error message2) I have taken the .epud (which adobe digital created) and converted it to either a PDF or Text file using numerous conversion softwares.  This also did not work3) I have contacted my local library seeking help and they stated "this is an adobe issue"4) did an online chat with an adobe person (twice) and the only suggested they made was to start my own online forum, so here we are.5) tired to open the .epud (

Bonjour,  Lorsque je tente de faire l'emprunt numérique de documents de ma bibliothèque municipale, ce message apparaît : « Erreur lors de l'obtention de la licence. Problème de communication avec le serveur de licences E_IO_CANNOT_OPEN  ». J'ai tenté l'approche d'accéder au terminal afin de réinitialiser les authorisations à partir de mon Mac, mais le terminal précise que le fichier est introuvable. Puis, j'ai aussi tenté d'exécuter l'application en appuyant sur les touches control+shift+D simultanément afin de réinitialiser les authorisations en les désactivant, et ensuite les réactiver. Bien sûr, j'ai aussi essayé de réinstaller l'application afin de pallier à ce problème, mais malgré toutes ses méthodes, le message d'erreur apparaît de manière persistance.   Je ne possède aucune aptitude informatique, alors s'il-vous-plaît répondre de manière simple et précise ! 🙂 Merci pour votre aide ! 🙂    

I have 4 ebooks that can not be opened in my Adobe Digital Editions. I get this error everytime: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER I have just bought them and wanted to put them on my ereader.

Dear all,  all my life I have used the same Adobe ID. I have bought several ebooks on authorized online platforms back in 2020. I have been trying for hours to download said ebooks again and load them onto my new Tolino e-reader. It's been a real pain, nothing gets recognized, I get an error saying that the ebooks are matched with another Adobe ID (which can't be, I only have this one ID - never created another). I've tried everything from de-authorizing my PC to doing the same on my reader but nothing works.  Please help me. I have about 10 unread books that I have bought and cannot use... please note that these are not borrowed or library books. I have bought them on official German bookseller websites, they are mine.  All the best and thanks in advance. 

I download books from multiple sources, often free ebooks from archive.org, etc. I download the books into the Digital Editions folder on my computer, but there doesn't seem to be a way for ADE to automatically find epub files in a folder and add those to its own ADE library. If I open a book from the folder, ADE wants to add it to the library. If I accept, it makes a copy of the file in the Digital Editions folder where the original file already is. I don't really want lots of duplicate files on my computer.One, is there a way for ADE to find epub and pdf files in a folder and automatically add them to its ADE library? Am I missing something?Two, if not, what do you do?

Hi all! I'm trying to add an ebook to my ADE library but I'm getting a pop-up window saying that the "license is already fulfilled by another user". Help! Back story:I borrowed a book from my public library using Libby (the library no longer uses the Overdrive app).The book is showing up on my iphone and I'm able to open it using Libby (so no problem with the library file). My ebooks in Libby are not syncing to my Kobo Clara, so I'm trying to use ADE to download the book directly. I've done this before and I'm familiar with how to get the epub file onto my ereader.When I first downloaded the .ascm file to my computer, it successfully loaded into my ADE library. But when I moved it to my Kobo, I got an error saying I didn't have permission. So I realized I needed to de/re-authorize my ADE. But now when I try to add the .ascm file to my ADE library (which is now deauthorized and reauthorized several times over) it says that the license is already fulfilled by another user. I have de

Hello.I recently borrowed an ebook from my local library and transferred it to my Kobo Clara manually via ADE (because Kobo doesn't have the book so I cannot link that library loan automatically) . However, a message popped up saying that my ereader is not authorised and cannot be read because of the DRM file to that ebook. I contacted Kobo themselves, and they guided me through de-authorising both my computer and Kobo, then authorising them again. I was even instructed to do a factory reset. The message still pops up despite everything. I contacted Adobe, they told me to post my question here, so here I am. Does anyone have any idea?

It's Dec 2022, and in the battle between a Kobo Glo HD vs ADE 4.5.11, the Kobo loses. Same problem other people have had with transferring .ascm files to ADE then to Kobo Glo HD. Both ADE and Kobo have been de-authorized and re-authorized, problem files removed, new book downloaded... but when I try to open the book on the Kobo Glo, I get "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book... Because you previously deauthorized your eReader you need to re-import the book using ADE." So unhelpful. Old threads said to download ADE 3.0 instead, but Adobe has removed the download, at least for Mac (operating system is Sierra). Can't afford a new Kobo right now. Does anyone know where I could find the older version of ADE for Mac if not from Adobe? Thanks in advance!
