Dreamweaver

I recently had to subscribe to Creative Cloud after my old CS3 license expired. So I lost all my stored FTP connection credentials. I'm trying to reconnect to my client's site to make changes and edits, but just can't connect. I'm 99% sure I have the correct username and password (my client sent that today) but suspect it might be the Server Name and FTP Address. I spent time online with AT&T chat, got the Server Name (series of numbers -- I seem to recall using the URL before) and they claim FTP Address is not required. But it's a required field in Dreamweaver FTP. I have no problem connecting to my sites, is there something different about AT&T hosting that the agent helping didn't get? Is there a way to look up these settings by URL? Thanks for any guidance. Dave

For the last couple years I've been using a really cool video player app from Envato which works very nice for various pages on one of my websites. It's called the "HTML5 Video Player with Playlist" and has worked great for a few years now. I liked it because it was a rather simple player with image icons along the bottom, w/ description option, etc. However, that specific video player app for websites is now outdated and I'm looking to upgrade to another which may have more options. So I went to Envato and chatted and was directed to this ONE called the "Modern Video Gallery Player". After doing some reviews along with seeing how it works I like it a lot. One question I asked was will it work with all web-building programming (i.e. Dreamweaver CC) and the answer I got in return was "I can't answer that." So the question I would have here is: how can I gaurentee before purchasing this product that this will be able to work well with my Dreamweaver CC version 2017? Hi,I'm an average HTML programmer who knows just enough about PHP to use includes.I have a simple website layout that uses PHP includes like this :<?php include ('../_header.php'); ?><?php include ('content.php'); ?> <?php include ('../_footer.php'); ?>Can't use root-relative paths in includes because, as you pros already know, root-relative on the server means something completely different.Is there a quick and easy way for me to remedy this, perhaps with an added line in either the header or htaccess file? The convenience of being able to move files outside of DW without having to worry about links like these is worth the initial bother, I find.Thanks!

My old web pages print fine. When I try and print a page from my new website that is more than one sheet long, only the first sheet prints. This happens with Chrome, Firefox and other browsers. I doubt that the problem is with the browser, but rather with my web pages. I'm running Windows 10 and the differences that I can think of that might make a difference are: (1) The new site uses responsive web design, and (2) the new site uses Bootstrap 3. From experience I know that there are some things built into Bootstrap that must be over-ridden so that your coding will do what you want, e.g. a black rule is not the default. Could there be something in Bootstrap that is affecting the printing? Thank you for your help. Marcus

14 years ago I was using Macromedia Dreamweaver to develop PHP and MySQL database driven websites.For the last 14 years I was not using Dreamweaver nor developing websites.I wish now to develop PHP and MySQL driven active website.Does now Adobe Dreamweaver has same features as previously Macromedia one?  

Does anyone know how to get a Bootstrap Menu created in Dreamweaver from appearing below my page content. I have tried adding a Z-Index property of 10 to my navbar elements but they still appear under the page content. Can I ask for a PHP programmer here, or can anyone give me recommendations where I can find a PHP programmer, who also knows Dreamweaver? HelloI am trying to install Dreamweaver CC 2021 October 2020 (version 21.0), when I run the set-up.exe file with administrator rights, it detects automatically the language, I select the default path then I press the blue button to continue and the installer is stucked at the 81%...This is very frustrating really.Searching in Google I have read people is experiencing similar problems and they say it is a permission issue that Adobe & Microsoft refuse to fix (in a timely manner), but no idea about what is this exactly.Some people recommend to run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, but they do not explain how should I run this tool and what should I do exactly when running it? Should I delete Dreamweaver CC 2021 with the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool or what? and then? reinstall it again? I have a responsive web designed page. It changes from two colums to one column for small devices. I need to make the web page print friendly. I understand about using a separate CSS for print media and/or media queries. I can use that to turn off parts that I do not want printed, e.g.. menus. What I need help on is understanding how I can force the 2-column design to print as a single column. Basically I want it to look like it was designed for a small device. FYI, I'm using Bootstrap 3. Can you give me any suggestions on how to do this? Cheers.Marcus Libkind

I learned Dreamweaver CS6 years ago. I have not found a good way to learn the CC version. I bought a Missing Manual, but it is a 2015 edition and not up to the task. There are so many changes I am forced to relearn. Where can I find it, and what is the best book to study the latest version of Dreamweaver CC? Please advise. I can learn this stuff from books. Trying to plod up the learning curve without one is not my way.

In the past I have renamed the ssh_hosts file to ssh_hosts_old and restarted Dreamweaver.I can no longer find the ssh_hosts file.Has it been moved? Removed?Is there another way to reset the hosts file so I don't get the above error?

Not to be confused with Ege Animate which was ended by Adobe (irritatingly). I am trying to embed non-Flash content from Animate. I tried embedding the HTML via iFrame without success. How do I achieve this? I can't figure out how to publish anything I made in Animate online. The info I found online is old and refers to Flash.Thank you

I'm teaching Dreamweaver and, i'm trying to help my kids keep their code organized and (important to them) separated. When you insert either and HTML or bootstrap element, Dreamweaver deletes any empty lines between that element and whatever is next in the code.Yes, yes, I know most people, myself included, prefer to not have extra spaces, but it would help my students get comfortable, not to mention stop them from not knowing where the hell they are in the code.Please and thank you.

I have a fairly simple HTML page that I use for photo tracking.  Since updating to 2021 version, the app is constantly crashing when I attempt to edit my document.  I'm unsure of what is causing it since it happens completely randomly.  Its become even more frequent in the last week or so. Do I need to rebuild something or delete a cache file somewhere?

I'm a mostly retired web developer with one client left (I detached from all the others).  The client is a friend as well and wants her site converte to be responsive so it displays well on phones.  The site was built in 2001 when people were still using modems and was made small & light per the custom in those days. I have Dreamweaver 5 (!) which as served me well, but to make her site responsive, I'd need to upgrade to another tool.  So I have questions of course: 1. Does the current version of DW really create responsive sites?2. How difficult is this to do?3. How realistic is it to assume that I could could convert this dinosaur to a responsive site using the latest version of DW? I'm sure there are other questions to ask, so please feel free to offer any additional advice if y'all would.
