Feature Requests

I use voice-to-text transcriptions for interviews and Premiere always separates the transcriptions into arbitrary timecode "paragraphs" which I then have to manually merge. With long interviews, it is incredibly annoying and time consuming to go back and re-merge these paragraphs to make the interview text look coherent. Please include an option BEFORE transcribing to not break up the text and just make it one long paragraph per speaker.

I am new to text based editing, but am finding it very useful in my new job editing tutorial videos.  I love that markers can be created right in the transcript. I would like to suggest that BOTH source clip and timeline markers be available to view on the transcript at the same time when on the timeline transcript.  The extended marker is at the top of the text in both cases, but maybe the sequence marker could be on top of the text and the clip marker at the bottom of the text.  I don't think it would be possible to ADD a marker to a clip when editing a sequence transcript, but to be able to see the clip marker when editing the sequence transcript would be very helpful.

This is a feature request, but after playing with the text-based editing workflow for a few hours, it seems like we need some way to quickly generate markers from the text. Right now, the process seems to be that highlighting a section of a transcript creates in and out points on the timeline. It would be great if right at that moment of selection we could create a marker that spanned those start and end points. This could basically give editors a quick way to mark "good take" or "use this" or "this is the part about childhood" etc etc. Instead, unless I am missing something, it seems like after selecting the text, you have to click into the sequence, then hit "m", then do some other fiddly steps to get the marker to span the points that are already selected from the text. So, is there a way to automatically create a marker that has the in and out points as its boundaries? If not, these should be something to consider for this text-based workflow. It needs some kind of commen

I sometimes find myself copying and pasting sequence names (eg. adding " with subtitles" or " clean version" to the end of the names of many sequences, especially as everything is now 16:9, 1:1, 9:16...). I might then copy and paste a video clip between sequences. Obviously if I then try to paste the previously-copied " with subtitles" words to the end of another sequence name, nothing happens, because the clipboard now contains a video clip. It'd be nice if PPro (and in fact ALL apps) was clever enough to retain several pieces of clipboard information, and figure out that if I'm in a Timeline Panel, and do "paste", it should paste a previously copied clip; if I'm in a text field (eg. a sequence's name), it should paste a previously copied bit of text, even if I've more recently copied a video clip or chunk of audio. So effectively we'd have several clipboards, each containing a different type of content, and PPro would use whichever is the most appropriate thing to paste, not nec

I really loved the improvements implemented in the audio transcription of the new version 23.4 , and it gave me an idea that could improve it even more!!Now that the tool is smart enough to identify moments of silence, it would be awesome to have a button that could delete all moments of silence from the timeline!! The current version has already greatly streamlined the process! The fact of being able to select each silence and delete them, made tasks that used to take me 30min, to be done in 5! But something that made it automatic in 1 single click, could reduce it to seconds!!

When will we get optical kerning in Premiere Pro?It would be great if the type tools in Adobe were consistant across all the applications. Is that even a goal at Adobe, or is there too much fighting amongst the teams? Maybe first start with the color picker and make that the same in all the apps.

This is not a complaint about the new timeline colors! But at the same time those color changes were made, another change in premiere was made which made the white selection border for clips on the timeline much less visible. And that's a pretty big problem for me, because I have an extremely hard time seeing which clip (or clips) are currently selected. Several people have mentioned this in the various threads about the timeline color changes, but I'm pretty sure it's gotten buried in those threads and not gotten the attention of Adobe. I don't know if it's hard to see because I'm running at 4k or because I don't have flawless 20/20 vision or what, but this is a serious accessibility issue -- my selection is hard enough to see that I always end up going back to 24.3 so that I can see what I'm doing again, and I really don't want to be stuck on that version forever. This isn't a "get used to it" kind of situation in the same way you can't "get used to" being co

feature request: please add the "fill" feature that After Effects has into premiere. yes I know I could put a red solid on screen and use track matte in premiere. but its always such a pain the butt when things get moved around. FxFactory pro actually has a fill feature effect for premiere. i just dont have it installed right now. and native implementation in premiere would be great

It would be great if the audio keyframes that are written to sub-it tracks during automation with an external sound mixer could be linked to the sequence in some way.When the video sequence has to be extended or shortened after the mixing process, these keyframes slip backwards or forwards in the sequence and the sound mix of, for example, the sub-it track with a narrator is no longer correct. at the moment, the keyframes have to be moved awkwardly using the drawing pen tool, which is unrealistic under time pressure, e.g. for news reports.it often happens that you produce a different version of a report, for example, where only a short passage is inserted or edited. and here it would simply be nice not always have to remix everything.

This morning when I opened Premiere Pro 24 for the first time, I was dismayed at not being able to find the Capture option in the File menu. Hi, I ran into this problem today and went looking for this "Could not synchronize one or more clips in the current selection because a match could not be found" error on the internet. After spending half a night and a break in a bunch of forums, I never found the answer. After that, I just sat down and began to think logically why this could happen in Premiere Pro. And I found the answer, my education as a sound engineer helped in this. So, here are my sources: a live music video filmed with 5 cameras at the same time and an audio master file of the track of this clip with mastering! (those who understand sound know that in pursuit of loudness, the waveforms of modern music tracks are most often monolithic "bricks"). So, having synchronized the cameras with the sound using Premiere and replacing the bad sound from the camera with a clean "brick" on each camera, I tried to create a multicamera using the Create multicam source sequence ... But whatever I did, this error constantly appea

I wish there was a feature in premiere where I could highlight all the music in the bin and type in -20 and have it change every single highlighted song to -20 db.  Because right now it's a real pain to double click every single song, go into the audio clip mixer tab and change it from 0 to -20.  Back in my Avid days, they had a feature that allowed you to change the volume levels upon import. yes i know premiere has some feature to do this in-timeline but i dont want to do it in timeline, i want to do it in bin to affect the original raw song. No i dont want to do it with Audio gain. I hate how it reduces the size of the waveforms. I want a way to change all the audio clips from 0 to -20 without affecting the waveform size. When I do it my way by double clicking the clip in the bin and turning down the audio in the audio clip mixer tab, i can now have the same wavelength patterns that arent reduced in size while having quieter volume levels.

I just updated Pr to the lastest version. Before the update when I scroll the middle mouse wheel while having the mouse over the program monitor (the main window where it plays the video), the action was going forward or backward in the timeline like when pressing back or forward key on the keyboard. But now it's zooming the video, which I personally barely use. I thought having it able to scrub throught timeline is much much more useful than zooming, and I hope in the future updates it can be at least added back as an option so we can choose what action the middle mouse does deoends on personal preferences, as oppsed to completely reaplacing and removing it.

The workspaces management options are very limited and needs improving. When I choose to hide workspaces this works when using the workspace button top right, but the menu still shows all workspaces despite hiding them. Surely these two ways of looking at the same list should match? Keyboard shortcuts appear to be assigned to the first 9 workspaces that appear in the list. If we want to use a keyboard shortcut for a custom workspace this needs to be named in a way that forces the required workspace to the correct place in the alphabetical list. if I make a workspace called 1_Jason, it will take over the first keyboard shortcut. This is odd. Why not allow the user to define all keyboard shortcuts, and to manage the workspaces as they see fit. I will never use the Assembly workspace, so would always delete it. I would suggest coding all default somewhere hidden with a restore default workspaces option in the menu. But allow users to delete nd create workspaces as required,

Dear Adobe, could you please make it possible to access the hand tool functionality via the middle mouse button / scroll wheel. The same way it works in After Effect and all other 3'rd party software. It will excellerate all the workflow.Thanks in advance.  🙂

Dear Adobe & Community, I'd like to ask if Premiere Pro could implement propper VST3 Multi Channel Plugin support for things like WTAutomixer? This is supported in Audition and the plugin does "work" in Premiere Pro but there is one specific bug:When adding the effect WTAutomixer into the Effects Rack of one specific audio Track and opening it, the plugins hows no tracks. Then as soon as playback starts & there is sound, a track appears in the WTAutomixer interface. This is how it is supposed to work. Then when I add the WTAutomixer to another audio track effects rack it also works the same way. However, when removing the plugin from one of the audio tracks, the corrosponding track in WTAutomixer does not get removed. I tried this in Audition, there it works as expected. If the effect is removed from one of the audio tracks, it also gets removed from the WTAutomixer plugin interface. I contacted the WTAutomxier support and they let me know that this is somet

Does anyone else out there think the interface on the clips in the timeline is starting to become too cluttered, and too unmanageable? There's a lot going on, visually and functionally, with the clips on the timeline these days.- rubber band- keyframes- FX badges- Audio Type badges- crossfade handlesAll have a purpose and I'm not saying they shouldn't be there - and I know some of them can be turned off. I don't know if it's just me, but with successive upgrades and new buttons and badges added to the clip interface, it's becoming harder and harder to simply grab a clip and drag it along the timeline.At a certain level of zoomed-outtedness, it literally becomes impossible. Clicking on a clip no longer selects the clip - it selects one of the afforementioned buttons or badges or keyframes or drag-handles instead.  NOBODY'S WANTING TO GRAB KEYFRAMES WHEN THEY'RE ZOOMED OUT THIS FAR!!! I would like to request a simplified version of the Transcription/Delete-Pauses Feature. I'm also including a few other items I will like to see here as well.  It would look something like this....1. Description:We can set Audio Types, so a Dialogue track gets prominence & other Audio Types (Music, Ambiance, SFX) can be ducked against the Dialogue.It'd be helpful if there was a way to establish dominance/distinction for Person A's Dialogue v Person B (or Person C, for that matter).So if PersonA is talking at the same time as PersonB, then PersonB's audio gets ducked/lowered; but if PersonA isn't talking but PersonB is - then PersonA's Dialogue gets ducked in the absence of PersonB's Audio.Either as a "Priority Dialogue" selector, and/or a checkbox to generate "inverted" ducking keyframes.Would be helpful for interviews where there's one person talking at a time. We make streaming software, and have noticed some reliability and user experience problems with the new SRT streaming function in Premiere. Firstly, when SRT output is active, PTS (Presentation Time Stamp) per frame is increasing normally by 3000 at 30fps, but an inconsistent number of frames are received per second. There is no frame loss (in terms of frames being sent but not received), but the frames are just piling up in a client-side buffer somewhere and are being received more slowly than expected. The result is high latency and dropped frames in playback which is quite clear if you monitor an SRT output next to an NDI output from the same Premiere timeline. See attached video for an example. When it comes to user experience, Premiere offers no clear "stop/start" button for live streaming and you often have to go back into the settings panel and toggle the output a couple of times, or even restart Premiere to get SRT to kick in. My question here is: what

I have two issues with premiere pro 24.5 on a Macbook M1 that have been detrimental to my workflow and speed of editing. These are, the apparent removal of the "Get properties from selection" when on the timeline and also the move of the "fx" icon on a clip on the timeline from the left to the right. For the "Get properties ffrom selection" I have this set as a shortcut key and use this on most clips on a timeline to determine what percentage I can slow down the footage by. Without it is seriously decreases the efficiency of my workflow. It sounds like this has been resolved in the 24.6 beta? However I wanted to throw my hat in the ring that this is a necessary feauture for users! For the move of the "fx" button on a clip I use this to change from the default opacity to time remapping adjustment. Having this on the left (previous versions) makes sense because as you move down the timeline you come across it first. Now with it on the right I need to zoom out, find the end of the clip, s

In Playback Settings we have a setting for "step forward/back many frames".In Trim Settings we have have a settinf for "trim forward/back many frames".Both of these settings can be set to a user determined amount of frames.  For example: 8 frames so that when working in 24fps you can step/trim 3 times to equal 1 second. BUT for nudge we have no user defined amount.  We are stuck with 5 frames. So if you set trim and step to 8-frames you're still stuck with nudge being 5-frames. Thanks!

Currently if you make any changes to your captions after generating them and you then need a transcript your only option is to download the captions as a txt file and manually take out the timecodes. You can't download the transcript because changes made to captions don't sync with the transcript. If we could have an option to download captions with or without timecodes that would save me a lot of time! (alternatively allow changes to captions to sync with the transcript!)
