FrameMaker

Hallo zusammen,ich möchte in FrameMaker mittels Adobe PDF ein PDF ausleiten. In FrameMaker wurde die Seitengröße auf DIN A5 ausgelegt.Problem ist nun, dass bei den Eigenschaften des Adobe PDF-Druckers "A5" nicht vorhanden ist:Zumindest scheint es so ... Wenn ich nun über "Hinzufügen" das Format A5 manuell eingeben will, dann erscheint folgende Fehlermeldung.Weshalb kann ich das Papierformat A5 nicht auswählen, obwohl es in dem System vorhanden zu sein scheint?Viele Grüße,Julian

I need to populate a 2 column spreadsheet ( table) with the figure number and the object property.  Currently, this is happening manually.  I'd like to have a automated way to export this information.  Is the a mechanism or script available to do this?

Conditional tags have been created and formatted for style and color, and work exactly as they're supposed to between all documents.Suddenly, the conditional tags in one particular document stop formatting correctly. They appear when I move from the Hide to the Show screens of the Show/Hide Conditional Text dialog box and click Apply, but they're default font, no color, no underline (as originally formatted).All the conditional tags behave the same way - no style or color formatting. When the tag is moved from the Show to the Hide screen of the Show/Hide Conditional Text dialog box and Apply is clicked, they disappear from the body of the text, as they're supposed to.Can anyone please explain what happened to the style/color of the conditional tags, and how to fix this issue?

I'm getting FrameMaker 2019 availability notifications. I have a TCS Suite, which has FM 2017 installed. Under "Help" the update option is greyed out.How do I update the existing FM 2017 to FM 2019?

Hallo Framemaker-Community,Ich habe einen neuen Laptop von meinem Auftraggeber bekommen und musste alles neu installieren.Es funktioniert auch alles bis auf die Joboptions.Ich hab das File an die 2 wichtigen Stellen kopiert....das auch noch funktioniert. Framemaker erkennt im Menü des pdfs Erstellen das File auch.Aber wenn ich auf "zuweisen" also erstellen des pdfs klicke kommt "Die ausgewählte pdf-Auftragsoption ist bin der aktuellen Installation nicht verfügbar. Erstellen Sie eine entsprechende Auftragsoption oder wählen Sie eine verfügbare." Wenn ich den CMYK-Farben in RGB konvertieren Haken setze erzeugt er mir gar kein pdf, wenn ich ihn nicht setze erzeugt er mir ein pdf, aber mit falschen Farben.Kann jemand helfen?Grüße und Dank

I have an unstructured FrameMaker document with a trouble shooting guide made with a table. Three columns: Fault - Probable Causes and Control/remedy.I am publishing the document as an app and while I can make the table show up fine in the app, I would like to have the trouble shooting guide work in a more dynamic manner. "Something" with being able to click on the fault and being presented with a list of selectable probable causes from which you can click to the controls/remedies.Would anybody have some inspiration to how I can make markup in the document to enable "something" like that? I have been experimenting with cross references, but can't really figure something out.Best regardsBjørn

I'm using FM 2017 to publish structured XML files to HTML5 files. But for Slovakian, Ukrainian and Serbin-Latin, I cannot find the languages in the language drop-down list. Is there any method to add the three languages? Really appreciate your sharing. Thanks!

I've been customising our HTML5 colours to suit the corporate palette, but have come across some text that I cannot change the colour of.I've highlighted it with a big red arrow. It's the check box on the Search (Desktop) window in the layout customiser. Does anyone know where to find this colour value?

After last windows 8.1 patch, FrameMaker 11 crashes when trying to use command "Save to PDF".When printing to PostScript file, distiller gets "Undefined error"Printing to XPS works fine.

Hi,I am using Framemaker 2019 (p393 build) and the CMS feature to check documents out of AEM. When I connect to AEM (through Framemaker), FM 2019 crashes.  The pop-up is showing error "Adobe FrameMaker 2019 has stopped working"This occurs with both AEM version 6.3 and 6.4. Can someone check? Are there any tools to import IDML into Framemaker?

I have a collection of documents in PDF that are used to build a library of technical manuals.  I would like to retain the look and feel of these manuals but edit them in FrameMaker.  Is this possible?  If so how do I do it?

Hi,I am trying to use Framemaker 2017 to edit s1000d data modules that were originally created in a different program.  When we use the WYSIWYG view to edit and make pdfs, Framemaker re-structures portions of the document with it's own tags, such as <fm.graphic>, <fm.title>. I'm assuming this is from using the built-in structured applications (such as S1000D_description_401, etc.) to compose the document.However, the xml file is now useless to us, as these "fm" tags cannot be read in our customer's CSDB. Unfortunately we had done significant work on the files before realizing this.Is there an easy way to export a "clean" xml file from Framemaker without the "fm" tags?  Or perhaps to un-apply the structured application?Thanks!MG

Test driving the new version of FM and am happy to see that the colored icons are back. Tried printing to PDF and my white logos turned black in the output. However, saving as PDF works just fine. Any thoughts?

I have an enduser that is having an odd issue with Framemaker. They are trying to print a book to a .PS file, when the opperation is run, it is generating an empty .PS file. This ONLY happens to one file, and that file will work on other systems running the same versions of FrameMaker. Other Books on this system print fine. Also if you print to PDF you get the same results. We have tried to have another user on the same machine log in a the results are the same.Any thought?--Mike

I'm having the same problem. I added several sections to my chapter, but the mini TOC won't update. I tried deleting the TOC and creating a new one. This removed all the formatting. When I tried to add back the paragraph style, it won't let me select part of the TOC, just the whole thing. I want the first and last entry to be different. Is there a way to select just one line of the TOC?

I am using the FM 2017 release and have installed the FDK2017 from the official website.I open Framemaker, click on file-->script-->new script but nothing ever happens. I do not get a error message.I have read these two threads that suggest to install the FDK, which I already have. is there a way of getting a paragraph tag to make initial significant letters capitalized?

Hi,I have a few multicolumn tables I created that use my own cell formats called Table Caption, Table Heading, and Table Cell. When I created a table that spanned two pages, the table caption and the table heading did not continue at the top of the second page. This is with Frame 7.2.I checked my manual and it gave no clue as to how to make the table title and headings continue on multiple pages. Well, it did mention the table continuation variable.I then inserted a Format A table (one of the built-in tables) and it worked properly but I did not see any table continuation variable in that table. But the table formats were called TableTitle, CellHeading, and CellBody. When I examined them with the paragraph designer, I cold not see any setting that referred to multipages. This is frustrating.What is it about the built-in table and its formats that are different from the ones I created and why do the built-in table formats automatically continue the title and headings to the next page?Yo

By default, Framemaker opens documents as tabs. With Framemaker 2017 (FM 14.0.3.500), when I drag a document tab out of a tab group into into a floating window, the new window is always opened very small (approx. 300 by 250 pixels), and, making things worse, resizing the window is not possible. Also the commands Fit Window To Page and Fit Window To Text Frame are not functioning, which, in effect, makes the floating window unusable.On the same machine, I do not see this problem with Framemaker 10 or other programs providing similar functionality so I think that this is not a Windows problem but specific to Frame 17. Uninstalling and reinstalling Frame did not resolve the issue.Any ideas on how to fix this annyoing behavior are highly appreciated. Thanks!
