Hello, My printer says that my croplines are too narrow. Instead  should enlarge them to 3 mm. How do I do that? I first wanted to change Off-set from standard 2,1117 to 3. But I'm not sure... Can somebody help me?

I have  a book with an extensive index which is being published as html5. The index works fine in HTML5, but I get no highlight of the chosen index words when I click them in the published output. Making it pretty cumbersome to figure out where exactly the source of the index word actually is on the page. Is there a solution for this? FrameMaker Version: 17.0.5.725

I have a structured document I am creating through XML in FrameMaker. After struggling immensely with getting the appropriate master pages applied to each page (including a blank page between "chapters," I am now finding that the pdf output when publishing does not match what I am seeing in FrameMaker. I have an FM book with a FrontMatter.fm file that contains title page information (2 pages), a List of Markers that is the Table of Contents (2 pages), and then the main document with all of the content imported from XML. When I look at the FrameMaker .fm file for the main document, all of the appropriate header pages are applied (through the EDD with context labels, not manually applied). However, when I publish the document to pdf about 1/2 of the way through the document the output starts to differ from what I have on FrameMaker. I want to publish a single DITA topic in PDF format with a book title and TOC. I am selecting the book title and TOC from Publish > Change Settings > Edit Options, but FrameMaker is not publishing the DITA topic with the selected book title and TOC. Could you please suggest how I can achieve this?

Hello,I have a problem with Frame Maker. I can open the files .fm, but I cannot open the file .book. So I cannot refresh the TOC and the LEP and I cannot create the PDF because I only have the section separetely, I do not have the book. In the corresponding the book is created but when I open it, I does not appear.Could you help me with that? Thank you all!

This just started happening across several different projects: Using the Publish routine, everything proceeds normally to the every end. Then the routine hangs with two progress bars show and gives a message "mapping tags to marked content." The only way out of this mess is to kill FM in the task manager. Conversely, the "Print Book to PDF" routine works fine.  I've never been clear on what the differences between these two routines are supposed to be, and the PDFs produced by the Print Book routine seem fine. What does the Publish routine offer that the Print Book to PDF routine doesn't? In other words, should I care about this? Thanks in advance,Bill  

I have combed through these community pages and there does not seem to be an answer to this question. I have several documents that have blank pages at the end of them. The first thing I tried was Format/Document/Delete Pages. The window pops up with the page numbers I want to delete, and I hit "Ok." Voila! Page gone. But the minute I save it, page comes right back. Then I thought I'd resolved the problem by using Format/Page Layout/Pagination and the selecting "Delete Blank Pages" from the dropdown menu in the window. This seemed to solve the problem, BUT....When I published the book, guess what? Blank pages return, in all their glory. I have played around with Book properties and there is absolutely NOTHING that allows me to delete empty pages at the book level. I have to assume this is a bug, or FrameMaker is just that un-user friendly. I am publishing a large book to HTML5.  I have this issue that some of the images become too small when published as HTML5. Text becomes difficult or impossible to read. I CAN scale the images in the FM document before publishing, but it is a tiresome and error prone process. Is it possible, somehow, to have FM scale certain images automatically during publishing?

I am working on a script for someone using FrameMaker 12. When were Object Styles added to FrameMaker? Were they on FrameMaker 12? Thanks in advance.

Downloaded new version, FrameMaker 2022, Version: 17.0.5.725. We use product interface FrameMaker, and my Save As for book or a single file is grayed out. I uninstalled and reinstalled.  No joy still missing.  

Has anyone noticed the Auto Save Every x Minutes check box in Preferences not staying selected in FrameMaker 2022? Yesterday, FrameMaker crashed and none of my changes were saved. The Auto Save check box was not selected, which I thought was strange because I was pretty sure I had it set to save every 5 minutes. I selected the Auto Save check box and set it for 5 minutes. I worked the rest of the day with the file automatically saving as expected. I was working in the same file today when FrameMaker closed without warning. None of my changes were saved, and when I checked Auto Save, it was deselected again.

I would like to insert these, subscripted, characters in a glossary marker:   I would expect that there are numbers in unicode which will do this - but how do I find them?

I did make sure to make sure that element banner text is checked in the View menu. What am I doing wrong?

Greetings, everyone:I am trying to insert a registered trademark symbol in my Framemaker 2019 document, and it's not working.According to the help, the combination is Ctrl+q Shift+9, but this isn't working. All I get is an e character from the Ctrl+q.I'm using Arial font.Please help! Thank you!

I have FrameMaker 2019. I'm using custom fonts which are installed on the computer. When I select a custom font in the Paragraph Designer and apply it to a paragraph, the text changes to random characters. So something like the word "Characteristics" becomes "B12YGN/32Rtul4N." I copied the errant text into Notepad and it still says "Characteristics" but that's not what is displaying in FrameMaker. Any ideas?

こんにちはお世話になっております。例えば、ブックに先頭から「A.fm」、「B.fm」の順にファイルを登録してあり、「A.fm」のファイル内には「B.fm」への相互参照が貼られているとします。全ファイルを開こうとした時、ブックの先頭にあるファイルから開かれていきますが、この「A.fm」を開いた時には、まだ「B.fm」は開かれていません。そのため、FrameMakerは、「参照先が無い！」と判断し、実際には参照先があるにもかかわらず、アラートを出してしまうのです。そのため、ファイルを全て開ききったあとにブック更新をすると解消します。しかし、ファイルを閉じた後に再度、データを開くと同じアラートがでるのはデフォルトの仕様なのでしょうか？ご教授のほどよろしくお願いします。

Hello,I am reaching out for assistance regarding links to drawings and tables. I am working on an extensive document (over 1000 pages) concerning a parts list (drawing and parts catalog). The problem essentially consists of three parts: I would like the program to automatically take the user to the corresponding position in the parts list table, which would also be highlighted, upon clicking the drawing in the appropriate place.I would like hovering over a number in the drawing to highlight it.I would like the user to be automatically taken to the corresponding number in the drawing and have it highlighted upon clicking the table. I use Framemaker 2019Is there a way to automate the process due to the number of pages in the document.I kindly request your assistance and a prompt response. Best regards,

I've been working my way through our various deliverables to setup PDF tags so that we can use the PDF comment import feature. I've only done two books so far, but this second book is throwing me for a loop. Maybe someone can tell me what magical spell I must utter or the underlying logic of how it works.  I'm setting up the "Tags (Distiller)" part of the PDF Setup for Print options. I set up one file and wanted to import to other files. I've done this once before with no issue. However, on my second book, it imports partially correctly. Or a tag that is listed in the setup file is not on the included list in the imported file. For example, the included paragraph tags will include tags that are not in the included list in the first setup file. In some cases, a particular paragraph tag might be level 8 in the setup file, but level 39 in the imported file.  Anyone know how the Tags (Distiller) actually works? Or how to solve this problem without manually adjustin

Hi y'all! I'm new to using FM and have inherited a particular documentation template for my job. One change we want to make it to add a autonumber counter in a BugFix element prefix for Fixed/Current Issues in release notes, but no matter what I try, I can't seem to get the autonumbering to work. For context, here's a sample of what the Fixed Issues looks like in vivo: Basically, what I want to do is add an autonumber counter in front of the "Issue" prefix. For this element, the "Issue" prefix value is followed by an attribute value where the particular bug/issue number can be entered via a value text box in the ZOI attribute. The document is structured, and this is what the structure looks like (the "ID" is a random jumble I typed in to see what it would change. I have inherited a FM project that uses DITA 1.3 and FM2020. It has been working with FM2020 for a few years, and I am now trying to upgrade to FM2022. The first problem I have encountered is that in FM2020 all <draft-comments> were hidden in the published PDF, whereas they are now included/shown in a PDF published using FM2022. I am trying to solve this problem and realized that I have no idea how/why the <draft-comments> are hidden in a PDF published using FM2020.
