Drive any parameter by another layer's luminanceOpen for Voting

You know how awesome Compound Blur is? I want that power everywhere.   That is, it would be extremely powerful to be able to switch a parameter to be "driven by" another layer.   You would set your minimum and maximum values and pick the layer it's pointed to. Just like how Compound Blur blurs more or less depending on the luminance, this would drive whatever the parameter was by the luminance of the referenced layer. (You could also include the ability to posterize it and soften it.) Oh, and the min and max values would be keyframeable too, of course.   Some use cases: Drive the complexity of a Fractal Noise layer by a depth map. So you have big fog up close and denser, more complex fog the further away it is. Some very cool, stylized effects by driving the size of the Venetian Blinds effect by footage. The size/density of CC Ball Action balls Mosiac sizes Glow size and intensity being driven by a different layer would be neat Stylized directional blurs where the blur angle changes based on the luminance of another layer (or the same one) Soooooo many more There are some third party tools that do things like this and it opens up a ton of creative options. Red Giant's Mir lets you displace a 3D mesh based on another layer's luminance and Form lets you drive all kinds of particle parameters with another layer's values.   I've been thinking about a feature like this for a very long time, but now that Red Giant has released Depth Generator and I've been playing with depth maps, I keep wanting to drive things besides the opacity, blur, or color of a layer with these maps. The more I think about this, the more useful it could be. I'm aware it would likely require some significant refactoring (and some parameters wouldn't make sense for it), but sooooooo many things could benefit from this. I know you'd have to have the ability to restrict it. For example, particle tools shouldn't change depending on the pixel values of another layer - I mean just think of changing the particle count based on another layer's luminance: it'd be simulating 255 times in an 8-bit project instead of 1! But this could unlock so much procedural coolness.

COLOR the Background of an entire track on the timeline or any clip that gets MOVED to the timelineOpen for Voting

I am cutting 2 feature films on Adobe Premiere.  I have many video tracks and even more audio tracks.  I organize the audio tracks into groups like A1-A11 for DIALOGUE, A12-A13 for ADR, A14-A22 for SFX,  and finally a bunchy of tracks for MUSIC.  Similarly on the video side, i have various tracks for multicams, overlays, text files, temp graphics, subtitles etc.  This is important to keep myself and my AE organized, but also to have things clean when we have picture lock and the films go on to sound mix. With so many tracks in my timeline it can get a little confusing trying to orient yourself and make sure that things are placed on the correct track.  I would LOVE to be able to do one of the following: 1) Select a color for a video or audio track that will color the background of that track all the way down the timeline, or 2) set a color for a video or audio track and any clip placed on that track will automatically turn the selected color.  This way I can easily see which clips are SFX or Music or Dialogue etc.  While you can currently select the color of specific clips, what I am asking for is a bit more nuanced and global.  The less real estate you have on your monitors, the even more necessary this request is.  Hope other people need this in their life too!  Avid already has this function (and we cannot let them win!)

Features from other programs (Global Colors, Responsive Text Box, etc.)Open for Voting

[ENG]I understand that the focus today is on AI, but functions that would make our lives easier as a whole, even basic ones to speed up work, would be very helpful:Global Colors: Incorporating "global colors" from InDesign into other programs. In Photoshop, for instance, when we need to change a color within the same file, but the color is within "smart objects," Layer Styles with color overlay/gradient, or multiple loose elements, it would significantly speed up the process and file updates.Responsive Text Box: In InDesign or Illustrator, we can place text inside responsive shapes, so when we resize the shape, the text automatically adjusts accordingly, or vice versa, when we change the text, the shape adapts. This is possible by linking an .ai file to Photoshop, but every time we need to adjust something small (like a "comma"), we have to open more programs. Another idea is to make changes directly within the file without opening the program, by having a "Change Text" option within the properties, which would intelligently modify the root file.Smarter Layer Style: It’s well overdue for this feature to have more capabilities. For example, the "Color Overlay" section has editable information blocks that are easy to adjust right when opened.
