Bring Back Video CaptureNot Prioritized

This morning when I opened Premiere Pro 24 for the first time, I was dismayed at not being able to find the Capture option in the File menu. Upon contacting customer support, I was told that feature had been retired, and I was directed to the following page:   https://helpx.adobe.com/in/premiere-pro/kb/retiring-tape-based-workflows.html#sa_src=web-messaging   Here's my problem. As a professional media archivist, I used the capture system frequently in the process of digitizing old video tapes (mostly VHS and U-Matic, sometimes DVCPro) for digital access and storage. The article above seems to think tape-based capture is only for transferring tape-to-tape, which is wrong. There are professional archivists and media professionals all over the country, or all over the world, whose job it is to preserve tape-based media via digitization. Adobe has now effectively abandoned an entire industry because it thinks people don't need this feature anymore. Adobe is wrong. As I write this, I have several dozen VHS tapes at my desk waiting to be digitized, and now I have to come up with another software solution because Adobe evidently does not care about customers like me who do this for a living.    Dear Adobe, this was a poorly researched decision, potentially affecting a lot more of your customers than you realize. I am asking for the tape-to-digital capture feature to be restored to the software for video professionals like me who were using it faithfully.   Mod note: Title changed slightly.

Audio Solution for "could not synchronize one or more clips" PP 13.1Open for Voting

Hi, I ran into this problem today and went looking for this "Could not synchronize one or more clips in the current selection because a match could not be found" error on the internet. After spending half a night and a break in a bunch of forums, I never found the answer. After that, I just sat down and began to think logically why this could happen in Premiere Pro. And I found the answer, my education as a sound engineer helped in this. So, here are my sources: a live music video filmed with 5 cameras at the same time and an audio master file of the track of this clip with mastering! (those who understand sound know that in pursuit of loudness, the waveforms of modern music tracks are most often monolithic "bricks"). So, having synchronized the cameras with the sound using Premiere and replacing the bad sound from the camera with a clean "brick" on each camera, I tried to create a multicamera using the Create multicam source sequence ... But whatever I did, this error constantly appeared Could not synchronize... And when I returned the original sounds from the cameras, not overloaded by the limiter, instead of the "bricks" - then the synchronization of the multicamera went perfectly!   Conclusion! Premiere Pro's own synchronization algorithms are far from being as good as those of the same PluralEyes - during synchronization, Premiere tries to match audio files by waveforms and peaks on them, and when instead of a waveform it analyzes a "perfect brick" - it simply cannot with which to compare the waveform. The same applies to badly recorded, overloaded tracks from cameras: if the limiter built into the camera severely cuts the input sound, Premiere will also have difficulty analyzing such a waveform, so synchronization will end with an error.Don't overdrive your original audio, write at the recommended volume settings, and give Premiere a clean waveform (and less extraneous noise during recording, of course) - and you'll be fine with sync. Sincerely, Vadim.   [Moderator note: moved to Ideas due to content of post.]

P: Profile ImportOpen for Voting

Dear Adobe Team, First, I would like to commend Adobe for continuously improving its products, including Adobe Lightroom. The addition of the ability to import not only traditional presets but also custom profiles (creative profiles) in the desktop version of Lightroom has been a significant step forward. These profiles, especially those built on LUTs, represent the future of color grading, offering far greater flexibility and potential than the classic preset. Moreover, they are crucial for seamless work across both photography and video. For many years, the mobile version of Lightroom on iOS lacked even basic functionality, such as the direct import of presets. It took a decade, but finally, the ability to import presets directly on iPhone has been introduced—a long-awaited and much-appreciated feature. However, as the industry evolves and modern presets are increasingly based on profiles, there is an urgent need for the capability to import profiles as well. This functionality is essential for photographers who need to stay current with the latest tools and techniques. It is somewhat disappointing that in 2024, despite the advancements in AI and neural networks in the mobile version, Adobe has yet to implement a feature for importing profiles or even LUTs. My question is, when will Adobe introduce the ability to import profiles in the mobile version of Lightroom on iOS? This feature is vital for photographers to remain competitive and to work effectively using mobile devices. We sincerely hope that this won't take another decade and that Adobe will prioritize this functionality in the near future. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We are eager to see Adobe continue to lead in innovation and support the needs of photographers worldwide.

clips are getting very cluttered - and it makes dragging them difficult!Open for Voting

Does anyone else out there think the interface on the clips in the timeline is starting to become too cluttered, and too unmanageable? There's a lot going on, visually and functionally, with the clips on the timeline these days.- rubber band- keyframes- FX badges- Audio Type badges- crossfade handlesAll have a purpose and I'm not saying they shouldn't be there - and I know some of them can be turned off. I don't know if it's just me, but with successive upgrades and new buttons and badges added to the clip interface, it's becoming harder and harder to simply grab a clip and drag it along the timeline. At a certain level of zoomed-outtedness, it literally becomes impossible. Clicking on a clip no longer selects the clip - it selects one of the afforementioned buttons or badges or keyframes or drag-handles instead.  NOBODY'S WANTING TO GRAB KEYFRAMES WHEN THEY'RE ZOOMED OUT THIS FAR!!! Nobody's ascribing audio types when they're zoomed out this far. The only thing people do zoomed out this far is slide things up and down the timeline!!!  Personally, I think common sense should prevail. Let there be a threshold beyond which none of these buttons, badges, handles and - especially - keyframes activate. Clicking on a clip selects the clip. Nothing more. If you want to twiddle keyframes or whatever, zoom in to the appropriate scale.  I know I can turn keyframes off, but turning them on and off everytime I want to grab a clip is just as annoying as grabbing a keyframe instead of a clip. It's not really a solution. So I wonder, does anyone else in the community have this problem? Would they like to see a simplification of the clip interface when zoomed out?
