InCopy

I have an issue with InCopy when create the InCopy file from InDesign. I'm not sure how it's being create and I haven't figure out how to fix it. See the attachment in the red box. This is a body copy but it's looks like each letter has a hard return. .

I want to learn Adobe InCopy cc and what it can do to enhance my working experience.Does Adobe have any video tutorials? If not, can anyone suggest some good video tutorials online that are free.Thanks

Creative Cloud Library links show as missing in InCopy on my machine as well as all collaborators. Can see them fine in every other Adobe program, but InCopy shows the icon, a generic filename ("graphic", "Adobe PDF", etc). I am connected to the libraries and can confirm so in all other programs and in browser.When trying to update I receive the "Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application", none of which is true.This is really killing the InDesign to InCopy workflow that I worked so hard to implement so I really appreciate any help fixing this. I have talked with Adobe support in India but they haven't been much help. Thanks in advance, I really appreciate it.

I'm using InDesign to create a book and InCopy with a separate user so they can make edits.  When the other user tries to export a PDF from InCopy the photos and vector files are pixelated.  When I do it from InDeisgn they are fine.  Is there a way to adjust the settings in InCopy so they can export a PDF with high-quality images?

Liebe Community,ich hoffe, ihr könnt mir Klarheit verschaffen.Eine .icma-Datei (extern aus InDesign vom iMac, InDesign-Version unbekannt) konnte ich in meinem InCopy CC (Windows 10, reguläre Kaufversion, gekauft im Juli 2017) problemlos öffnen, bearbeiten und speichern. Nur danach sind die Punkte zum Weiterleiten und Senden NICHT auswählbar, d.h. ich kann kein Paket packen und zurücksenden.Alle Punkte der Rubrik, u.a. "Für InDesign zurücksenden und per E-Mail senden" sind NICHT auswählbar und stets grau hinterlegt, egal was ich mache.Was mache ich falsch? Habe ich etwas übersehen?Oder liegt hier ein Kompatibilitätsprobem vor?Der Arbeitsbereich ist auf "Erweitert" und "Vollständige Menüs anzeigen" eingestellt. Meine eigene InDesign Version ist übrigens InDesign CS3, ich denke aber, dass dies nichts damit zu tun hat.Ein Screenshot ist dabei.Vielen Dank schon mal im Voraus,herzliche Grüße,Jasmin

Hello,At work, we have just moved on to InCopy 2014 and there is one particular bug that is breaking my, and other subs', will to live.When we try to open a story from design, the message 'you must check out the contents of this frame in order to make changes' appears, which is fine and completely expected.However, when you check it out, you can delete, tab, return, squeeze, etc. but you cannot actually write in the text box until you physically click the mouse on the box again.Apart from checking a box out by using the 'file' tab with the mouse, is there a way to make this work as it used to with the previous InCopy we were using (InCopy CS5.5)?ThanksGary

We are just starting to use InCopy at our office and the question has come up--what if someone checks something out, forgets to check it back in, then leaves on vacation? Is there a way for someone else to check it back in? We use laptops here so we would not have access to the hypothetical person's computer. Thanks!

Hello all,we use Incopy with success in our small team but we have a little problem.(All computers are running up to date systems Sierra and the latest Incopy version)Some users don't see all the text in a textbox (little "+" sign on the bottom right of the textbox) and others can see all the text (without any problem) in the .icma document.I had a look in the system language used but it's the same on all computers. May be the trouble comes with a conversion between different units (I don't know...)If someone as an idea where to look for.Thanks

Dear All,I am a beginner to InCopy application. After I have installed the application, I find everything appearing too big and the zoom option is greyed out at 100%. Can someone please suggest what needs to be done so that it fits my screen? All other applications seem to work fine.Best,Soham

I filed this as a bug report earlier but thought I'd explain it here in case someone was interested. This has probably existed since CS3 when you could first track changes in tables. This can be reproduced in InDesign as well if you're working with ICMLs.If you are using track changes and make a change to multiple cells (by copying and pasting) these will initially be tracked. However if you save the document and then re-open it the tracking for these changes is gone. To reproduce this:1. Create a table in InCopy like this:2. Select two cells:3. Paste the contents of these cells in two other cells:4. Initially these changes will be shown in Galley/Story view as tracked:5. However, as soon as you save and reopen the document they disappear:This basically occurs any time you copy and paste from more than one cell into two or more cells. I haven't run into this before.When I open my Assignments files, created from my InDesign document, in InCopy many but not all text boxes are vertically justified "center" rather than at the top of the text box as they appear in InDesign. The text boxes are threaded several on one page, and then from page to page, where the first text box is bottom justified. That one is behaving correctly in InCopy, however the next text box in the thread is center justified (vertically). Is this a known issue, and has anyone discovered a fix for it. I have many other similarly laid out files that don't behave this way.Thank you for any help you can give.Kraeg

Hey guys,I'm running CS3 (I know, I've tried to get work to update but they refuse). I started noticing an issue where formatting was being stripped from .doc files, so I reinstalled CS3, and have cause myself even more dramas.Now, "InCopy" no longer appears in the Edit menu, and I can't export .incx files anymore. This is a critical part of our workflow and I need to get it back. I also can't update .incx files that have been updated by our writers -- equally as important to our workflow. I get the error message "Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation."Any help? As I said, I've just reinstalled, so that shouldn't be the issue.Cheers,Ben

Hello,we got a problem managing/editing texts in Incopy over different fileshares on a linux server.We are using Incopy 2017 and Indesign 2017.The Problem:Texts from Volume 1 will be connected to a Incopy file on Volume 3.The text can be displayed, but not managed.If you click on the text, we get the following message: Textfile could not be opened.If the textfile is located on the same Volume the textfile could be managed.Any ideas?

We got the problem that connected texts in indesign documents can be edited by more than one user.Usually you the message "The text is being edited by ****" but here we wont get it.This parallel editing leads to losses of changes in those texts.We use InCopy CC 2017/2015 and InDesign CC 2017/2015.Any ideas?

InCopy is like a subset of InDesign. InDesign has document preferences and application preferences. Would the same be true of InCopy? Are some of its preferences document-centric as opposed to application-centric? I'm trying to compile a list of which is which.Mike Witherell in Maryland

Using latest release of inCopy on macOS 10.12.4. According to the documentation (and as demonstrated in a Lynda.com video), panels can be docked on the top and bottom of the screen in addition to the sides.However, when I try to do this, I do not get the blue line/highlight that indicates a panel will dock when the mouse is released.I have restarted the app, the OS, and have trashed preferences, to no avail.

I have incopy CS6 and am working on a project with a designer who has a current subscription. I haven't used my incopy for three years, but it did open when I tried it.  It seems to be working with her layouts, but when it first opens, I get the message that "Incopy might be damaged. Please re-install." Then it opens, though it's not allowing me to add notes to the file. Any advice? Am I doing some damage to the files that we don't know about? Thank you.

How do I stop a reflow of text that has been edited in InCopy when I update the assignment in InDesign?I need to select all the copy and reapply the Optical spacing option to get it to fit my layout again.In this example, the end of the story is not even visible until I do this step.

I'm about to setup a workflow with an editor for new project, which involves her to sign up for a sole InCopy CC monthly subscription. I wonder: does this license also incorporate the use of Adobe Bridge?

We and the editorial office of monthly magazine and organized a new workflow with InDesign and InCopy. Yesterday we finished the project, but it was a bit horrible. The magazine has roundabout 124 pages or 180 pages. Lot of information and roundabout 300 / 400 pictures. I am the designer and i organized the workflow in different categories. These categories are also the tasks for InCopy / InDesign. There are roundabout 3-5 editors which work with InCopy. Two or three editors in the office, two editors outside the office. That's the reason because we had organized all files in a dropbox account and every worker has access to this central cloud server.The workflow is good, but the problem is, that InDesign or InCopy crashes constantly if we refresh one or more tasks, boom. Its very horrible, and we made every 1 or 2 hours a backup from the indesign file. i
