HiI'm have a problem with my file. I can't Open file after 20.0 updating. It just appear coverting file pop-up only.  So can I back to previous indesign version or can i do anything that make it open again Thank you.      <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi everyone, I am exporting high res pdf's for a book. My problem is, when I export the pdf's the colours take on a very slight green hue and appear a bit darker. All of my images are CMYK, the document is set to CMYK and the output settings are set to CMYK Fogra. i am viewing the pdf's in acrobat so I assume the viewer isn't the problem Can anyone tell me why this is happening and a possible solution? Thank you!

I just updated my indesign app and now I can't drag and drop images into a frame like i previously could... Now every time I drag and drop an image, it creates a brand new frame. Is there a setting I'm missing that I need to change? Or is this feature been completely abandoned?Please help!

I was sent an InDesign file to copyedit and when I opened the Story Editor, all the text was backwards! Also when I try to type something in the Notes field (not in Story Editor), it's also backwards. The owner of the file doesn't know what's caused it. The actual text in layout looks fine.

I don't understand why Adobe, which provides GPU support for Photoshop, doesn't do it in InDesign on Windows. Why? At least allow computers with integrated cards, e.g. Intel Arc and dedicated NVIDIA RTX 1000 Ada, to choose the dedicated one. Since there is no way to do it through Windows settings or Nvidia panel, it doesn't switch to the dedicated card, despite these settings, InDesign stays on the integrated one. Why? We also don't have the option in the computer BIOS to use only one card or set priority. Please improve this. My hardware configuration far exceeds the requirements of this program, and yet InDesign runs very slowly.

Is there a way I can adjust the spacing between the text and the para shading style for ebooks? Example below, I want it to be close to the print version but the ebook removes all spacing even after I try offsetting the shading.

I am having trouble importing a module. I don't know if the module file should be idjs or js but I have tried both and they don't work. I am getting an error on the require script.UXPScript Error!Error String: Module not found: "../../Samples/alert". Parent module folder was: "/"

The box for catalog styles is too small, and it is sometimes inconvenient to select which styles to extract as a catalog. Is it possible to manually put all the paragraph styles to be extracted into a group? After running the script, all the paragraph styles in the group will be added to the catalog extraction dialog.This is handy if you have a lot of directory entries.For example: group name (Need extra)style name:aa1 aa2 bb1 bb1If possible, you can also create styles for them directly in the catalog (preceded by an @ for the corresponding reference):@aa1 @aa2 @bb1 @bb2

When I open InDesign the menu bar is there, but none of the menus respond—well, the "File" menu flashes on and then off, and never again. I have to force quit to leave the program. I have restarted the computer, I have repaired CC, and I have deleted and reinstalled InDesign many times today. Thinking it might be a connection problem, I tried to start up the program from my desktop. It won't respond. When it did briefly work, it quickly stopped responding. Could this be a hardware problem? I'm trying without much success to be patient with the software.

A week or so ago I accidentally clicked a button to allow Indesign (or Adobe?) to automatically activate fonts that are missing from a document. I can't find where to turn this feature off.Cheers, Mike

I have recently had two proofs made for a book that I have written and illustrated. I would like to print in black and white if possible to keep costs down, however I've been having trouble with the grayscale images losing their contrast and rich blacks. The second proof was done in color, and the sepia images look great. I've put them side by side for comparison (the b&w appears more washed out in person). Is there something I should be doing to the b&w files to avoid the loss of values? I edited them in photoshop, converted to grayscale, increased contrast, saved as PNG's, dropped into my InDesign book file, and then exported for print. Thanks!

I have 10,000 names that need to be flowed into multiple linked text boxes. As the names are different lengths, I am getting some bad rivers. I'd like to find a script that will re-arrange the names (they don't have to be in any particular order), in order to best minimize bad rivers. Hope this makes sense.Any ideas, anyone?

My understanding is that importing/placing a PDF with multiple pages into InDesign has gone through some recent revisions. I'm not looking to convert the PDF into ID objects...just place each page of the PDF into an ID doc as-is. No script necessary. I'm am able to make a bunch of individual PDF files from the multiple page PDF and import those one at a time. Thank works fine. I was able to import the first few pages of the multiple page PDF but it just stops importing after a bit. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Hank

Users are facing issues with InDesign and illustrator. Application is getting stuck. USers have to quit session in order to work. Troubleshooting steps have been completed by the users.No one from the Abobe Support is helping or calling back even. Very dissapointed by the service and support.

One necessary skill completely eludes me. (Actually, lots do, but I only need to add this one now.) I have a multipage document. I need to add a page in the middle of it. I know how to add a page and how to draw a text box in it. What I cannot seem to grasp is how to fit that added page within the flow of threaded pages rather than as a separate story. I'm annexing a file so I can express my problem in concrete terms. I need to have a page viii following page vii. I know how to thread between vii and viii. Then I need viii to thread to page 1, and that's where I get messed up. When I click on viii's out box, I get a loaded cursor. If I position that loaded cursor in the upper left-hand corner of page 1 and click, the page 1 material ends up starting on page viii, and then I can't add the text I need to. Will it work if I type my new text before the page 1 material and then add a next page break? (I apologize if I'm not making much sense.) If not, can someone give me a step-by

For example:You now have 6 objects selected that may contain text frame and images。 How tu  use a script to find out the text frame, ,  theb release 2-3 lines of overflow text if there is any. whole file here      

Hi. I've used the Publish Online capability for many InDesign documents, and this has never happened before. When I choose to share this document on Facebook, instead of the cover image, I get a generic image. Why? I'm not doing anything differently than ever before....

HI!! im looking to achieve the fill/highlight look u get from just selecting the text like image 1, but of course when I change the fill of the text box, it just makes a rectangle out of it (img 2) , is there any way to achieve this? Thanks a bunch!!pS: if there's not a way to make this i highly encourage adobe to put it on, i think it's rlly useful considering the modern trends in design xoxo  

InDesign is lagging after I run the latest update. It takes at least one minute to do any action and is very frustrating.  I noticed that if I change the view settings to Fast Display, it goes back to operating normal but I don't like working with that setting because I can't see the images while I am working on a document. But I thought this might give some extra information on what the issues might be. Anyone has any advices?  I am working on a MacBook Pro with 2,6 GHz Intel Core i7 6 core processor and a 16GB RAM and I never had those kind of issues with Indesign before.   

I'm trying to resize several images together on a page. I try to select more than one image frame by holding Shift, but it doesn't register. It simply deselects the previous image frame and selects the new one. If I try dragging from outside of the document's borders, it selects the image frames but also selects other frames I drag across. I thought perhaps it has something to do with the images each being anchored to different text, but I just tried importing a few images without anchors and still I can't use shift to select them all. Any ideas? I'm using 19.5.4 on Windows 10. Thank you.

The checkbox for hyphenate is not in the pragraph styles window. When I select the dropdown, it doesn't show "show options" . How do I get this back or has it moved? 

So basically I'm doing a layout for bible in malayalam. However, I'm stuck with it's headers. So basically, it should have Chapter Name - Chapter Number. (For eg: Mathew 3). But in some cases, where there are 2 chapter numbers or continuation of chapter from previous page with new chapter is where i met with problems. So, i'm using 2 master pages. In first master page, one with <Chapter Name> text variable & <Chapter Nu> for single chapter pages. For others, I'm using <Chapter Name> <Chapter Nu>-<Chapter Nu2>. Chapter Nu 2 is using last page running header feature and Chapter Nu is using first page Running header. I can make it work but when there is no clear visible chapter number in that page it doesn't detect and gives me Mathew 4-4 instead of Mathew 3-4. Please anyone help

I suddenly realized that manually setting the objectstyle of a group separately does not affect the original objectstyle of objects in the group.But I want to use objectstyles to control groups, and I found that the objectstyles in the group will change to the objectstyles of the group.Is there a way to achieve the effect of manual setting without affecting it?
