Why doesn't it show up and change to this font when I try to select it?? 

I'm having a struggle with InDesign 20.31 (and earlier versions of 20). I have a document that is 66 picas by 102 picas. The margins are 1p6 on all sides with single page spreads. If I option drag a page, copy a page or drag a page down from a parent page, the guides move and the text frames change size. Everything moves down and to the right. The first time the top and left margins change from 1p6 to 1p4.2. If I option drag it again, it moves from 1p4.2 to 1p2.8. If I set up columns when I set up the margins on a parent page, the colums don't move, but the guides and frames do.Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon? For what I need InDesign to do for this project, this is a severe problem and it has made me question all of the other parent pages I have created with guides.Thanks for any help!

In my studio one of my colleges is having trouble exporting a piece of artwork using PASS4PRESS, exports fine an interactive but when it come sto print it never gets passed 18% both of PASS4PRESS and Quality presets. But the strangest thing is that when we try it on other computers in the studio it works fine.  As it works fine on other computers it isn't a links issue. only difference is the computer with the issue is an intel core i7 and the others are intel core i9. There is plenty of memore and RAM on the i7 too so that can't be the problem, plus all update are all installed too. Anyone with any ides why this happens?

Hello there, i am having some troubles with a document i need to convert to pdf. I have added an image after which Indesign crashed for the first time prompting an error message ressembling something like " not enough disk storage " and automatically closed the document. Luckily i have Adobe cloud and the document saved automatically but ever since this crash, the document crashes everytime i try to open it. No error message whatsoever, i can see the document for a split second and then it just closes the tab. i've tried everything : Uninstalling indesign, clearing preferences, saving locally and even saving to IDML which InDesign can't read for some reason but i know my file is deeply corrupted. is there anyone that could take a look at it or help me with other solutions available. What is the proper way to set up saddle-stitched booklet layout with separated cover?I am going to create a booklet as shown above. It's going to be saddle stitched. And the cover and the inside pages are going to be different stock.My current method is to have two separate files for cover and inside pages so I can easily output two files for printing. But the client also wants a "soft" pdf proof with all pages in correct order(so the cover file will be split into front cover and back cover and be placed at both end of the inside pages).Is there a proper way to set up file for this kind of jobs?

Hello, I'm trying to get rid of the margins on pages/slides, so that they look like the first attachment (No_border) and not like the second (Border). Any ideas? While I'm at it, how can I define document-wide setups once I find the one I like (margins, borders, etc.)? Thanks!

I cannot get the character and paragraph selections to appear in my control panel. I've tried all the suggestions from previous years (shift-control-option-comd) upon startup, and deleting Indesign's cache to no avail. I've reverted back to the last version and updated again. Reset all workspaces. Tried to customized my workspaces. Rebooted my laptop. Nothing.  I am on a Macbook Pro with Sequoia 15.5, running Indesign 23.3.1 (which just stinks). This upgrade is chock full of bugs and messes.  What can I do? This is a true handicap. 

Hi there!Just wondering ...Is there some proper way to do »radial« text setting with InDesign, like setting up some »bent baseline grid« and having a text flow from line to line finally? Or should I switch to Illustrator for that purpose? (Where things won’t be so much easier, I guess ...)Thanks –Klaus

I recently updated my Excel and since then the .csv files won't merge into indesign. The indesign and Excel are both updated. When I go to merge the data none of the data fields show in the data merge window to click and insert into the document. When I close the file and reopen in indesign, it says that "the data source cannot be opened." I am only importing .csv files and have not had this problem before. In fact, I used an older .csv file created with the older version of Excel and it uploads just fine into indesign. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?

ok so I have a situation where I have 30 pages.  I created the file as a "facing pages" file.The first 3 pages are meant NOT to be numbered.From the fourth page I want to number the pages.When I do this the fourth page or Page 1 becomes a RHS part of the spread instead of LHS.I really want this to be on the left with the rest of the pages moving into their appropriate spreads. I've been going into the Pages settings under Numbering options but it doesn't seem to be working.  I can reallocate page numbers but it changes the spreads - how do I keep the spreads the same and not have the first page of the new numbering on its own alone...out in the cold! Thanks for your help - not even AI can help with this one. Lisa

Sometimes I want to draw a text or graphics frame that is the full height of the page. Indd won't let me do that anymore. The frame automatically begins 6 pts down and ends 6 pts above the bottom of the page. Then I have to do two adjustments.I don't have any grids turned on.I'm using CC 20.3.1 x64 on Windows 11 Pro.Any ideas?

Bei meinem Dokument lassen sich die Ränder nicht ändern.Das Problem hatte ich schon mehrfach. Die Ränder stehen auf "0", links im Dokumentsieht man dennoch die violetten Linien, die sichüberhaupt nicht ändern lassen.  

SDK and indesign version compatibility:I have compiled my Indesign plugins with SDK of 20.0.1 and used InDesign 20.0.1 which is working fine.Now I have upgraded the indesign version to 20.3.1, but still my old plugins are working.Is that ok? should I still recompile or continue with the existing old plugins ? Does Adobe provide a compatibility matrix to help users determine which compiled SDK version plugins can work with a particular InDesign version?

I have a book file: INDBI also have another file for the same book which I have labled "edits".I am trying to take the INDB file and paste edits from the "edits" file (they are both completed books and the same book),I copy text from the "edits" and paste into the final version book INDB.When asked to save the INDB, I did. Now it says this when I try to open it: Can’t open /Users/holybenguin/Desktop/Recovered.indb as a book file Don't know what I did wrong, what it utltimately means and what can I do about it. Any help here? thanks ahead of time.  This is indesign 2025It also appears I have 2024 as well How do II go about uninstalling 2024?
