InDesign

Hi all, I am having a very frustrating time trying to get my paragraph rules to edit or save in my paragraph styles setting. I am able to initially create paragraph rules and edit using all the typical functions. When I save the document and open it up later, or create a copy and try to edit the paragraph styles --> paragraph rules on the new document, none of the currently displayed paragraph rules settings are saved. THUS, the original paragraph rules are stuck on the page!! I cannot delete them or adjust them or do anything at all with them. Please help!!!

Hi,I have the impression that InDesign only exports documents from the InDesign format to PDF. Is that correct? Is it possible for InDesign to export directly to Word, or is PDF the only option?

When I copy a book with its documents to another computer.My files are not ready to be packaged and merged. I've had to copy to another computer to modify it (such as required for a business trip).I need to take the whole catalog with me for now.Their “Document fonts” are almost the same. If I have 10 documents, is it too much space for me to have 10 Document fonts?Can all documents share a single MyDocument Fonts? 

J'ai fait tous les forums, testé chaque paramètre un par un mais rien n'y change.Actuellement des blocs dépassent dans mes fonds perdus et mon imprimeur me demande bien qu'ils dépassent (logique) pour faciliter la découpe.Or, après exportation, mes fonds perdus apparaissent vide.Si quelqu'un a déjà eu ce problème et une solution, je suis preneur !Merci.

Never figured it out, was it forgotten or did Adobe feel it wasn't needed?It's necessary when links are missing and you need to find images. Also, I wonder what the difference is between “copy full path” and “copy platform style path”? Suddenly there's an idea, wouldn't it be beautiful if InDesign allowed to add custom menu functionality directly, rather than in the form of a script.

Hallo, ich habe seit einigen Tagen folgendes Problem: Das Zeichen Bedienfeld lässt sich nicht bedienen - egal wo ich klicke, es schließt sich. Ich kann weder eine andere Schrift auswählen, noch einen Schriftschnitt etc. Wenn ich den Weg über das Menü - Schrift gehe, funktioniert es. Ich habe den Arbeitsbereich schon zurückgesetzt, das hat nicht geholfen. Kennt sich hier jemand aus? Habe ich unabsichtlich etwas verstellt? Danke für die Hilfe, LG.

Salve! Estou com problema em trazer texto do word pro Indesign. O conteúdo até chega no Indesign, mas quando vou editando as caixas de texto, o arquivo fecha inesperadamente. Alguém tem alguma dica pra resolver isso?

I would like to pass a jsx file as a paramter to indesign like C:\PROGRA~1\Adobe\ADOBEI~4\InDesign.exe -s "jobXml=D:\CheckX\job1.xml" -r "D:\CheckX\app.jsx"The app.jsx gets the job1.xml like app.scriptArgs.getValue("jobXml"); and opens a template, and so on.But Indesign messages "cannot open the file adobe indesign may not support the file format a plug in....."Is there a solution to the above issue or could i open an Indesign 2025 object in C#

Problem:     I was trying to match Linespacing via word or google docs of 1.15 to InDesign. I have googled the conversion between linespacing and Leading and contacted Adobe assistance. It seems the exact number should be 12.65 agreeably. However, if I print the copy on google on white paper and then from Indesign on transparencey  and overlay the two the leading is way off.  There are no over sized texts. The text was copied and pasted perfectly and the font, style, font size, and paragraph indicators are all the same and I ensured the leading would be 12.65 throughout. Target is to get exact print match Bookman oldstyle Regular 11pt font 12.65 LeadingBaseline grid is off Snap to grid is offAll text is the same (selcet all to check)The text is in a text boxText box object paremeters is aligned to topAuto sizing is off Solution:It was determined that by all indications the assumed number 12.65 provided on many platforms was inorrec

Is anyone having issues when pasting transparent vectors from illustrator into Indesign 17.2?Opacity seems to be removed altogether. This workflow has been successful with previous versions.

Ceci n'est valable que sur PC, ça marche sur MAC. Comment contacter Adobe poru qu'ils arrangent cela. Merci pour votre aide 

I'm placing German text into InDesign. The text is coming from Word and has the German language setting applied to it. However, when placed I'm constantly running into the problem of the German close quote facing the wrong way. So for instance, instead of coming in as „Weltschmerz“ (where the close quote is the equivalent of an English open quote mark) it comes in as „Weltschmerz" (where the close quote is the same as an English close quote). I'm certain my German friends don't have to deal with this...they'd be jumping up and down. So what am I doing wrong?

I'm creating a collection of PDFs from google docs and although copy and pasting from docs to indesign works pretty well, I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the links to paste as well. Seems like a lot of work to go back into the indesign documents to select words and then create hyperlinks which is actually kind of a clunky process to begin with.

I have installed INDD CC2023 version 18.1.0.051The "Package" option is not availble.  It is grayed out.Running Catalina for the Mac OS.Any thoughts?

It seems like a lot of plugins, font packing scripts can't pack composite fonts.What's the best way to do it?

i recently update my mac ventura to sequoia 15.4 previously only indesign has some proble so i downgrade something its working with little error so i though lets upgrade and will update the my adobe software but after updating problem goes more high previously only Indd 2025 error now all the adobe software is creating a problem and low performace any idea to i need to downgrade mac os or reisntall adobe software Adobe will fix in comming updates or any trick to solve this.

With nested styles: is there any way to control the last character of an irregular paragraph. For example, the two paragraphs below are basically the same, except that the first paragraph has two extra sets of brackets.I now want to use only one paragraph style, nested control of the last "(Idealism)" and "(Best Memories)". Characterless styles are applied to the text before them. Is it possible? Or do I have to use regular? I feel that nested styles are rigid and inflexible. This has never been an issue before. My document is in English: USA, this has never changed or been reset to something else. My brochure that I'm designing has content that has already been edited and peer-reviewed and contains zero spelling errors. InDesign has almost every single word underlined in red, and suggests spelling changes to what APPEARS to be French, but by no means can I speak French, so I'm not sure. I will say that this template in InDesign was provided to my company by our sister company in Germany. I've asked them what language it was created in and they claim it was created in English: USA. I think that this HAS to be related to the issue, but I'm not sure. Other documents do NOT have this problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi guys I have search the internet for a solution to converting an old PageMaker file, so i will be able to open it again. The answer seems to be Adobe InDesign CS6 - which i do not have. InDesign will no longer package files even if they're saved locally and working locally. The package process starts but never completes. My files are small in size (13MB), I'm running the latest INDD using macOS Sonoma 14.3.
