InDesign

Hello!  I recently downloaded @Peter Kahrel, price_adjuster.jsx script, for InDesign. The script works great, and i managed to add my own currency symbol, but the only problem i have, is how do i change the code so the position of the currency symbol, will be placed from the beginning of the text line, to the end of the text line? For example: Instead of: €5.500  Then i want it to look like:5.500€ In advance, thank you very much! 

I saw the new Generative AI feature in InDesign and created a couple of images while I was working on a document for print. I deleted the images from my layout, but noticed they still appear in the Links panel. The images are neither embedded nor linked and I can't find any way remove them. I fear that they may cause problems when putting my files into a print production RIP, so hoping to find a way to delete them.  

I was trying out the new Auto Style and Style Packs features. I had some inconsistent results when applying them. Sometimes the heading wouldn't be styled the same way. Other times, numbers at the beginning of paragraphs went missing (that were part of the text). Would also like to be able to change the number of mapped styles in the Style Packs, like if I only need 3 styles in the text and not the 6 that are there. [see defaults in screen shot]. Not all texts have lists. I've been using a lot of GREP style features as well. The auto style seems like a step in the right direction, but it could be better with some customization. Any thoughts comments greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm facing issue in InDesign PAC validation, that it shows error 'Link annotation not nested in link structure' even though pdf has <link> tag and inside it have Link -Objr. But the <Link> & Link-Objr point to some other text, along with its tagged text. IS there any solution to fix in InDesign or PDF.

How can I import an image into InDesign, in a ten point frame, without the image being cropped by ten points on all four sides? Can I fit the image to the inside of the frame?

Well, it was gone for some time, but now the screen teraring is back in Indesign 2024, and InDesign 2025. Reset prefs and all; preview on CPU doesn't change anything but turning off the GPU acceleration seems to work for awhile. I thought this issue had been fixed, but apparently not.     <Title renamed by MOD>

Hi, this is my first post hereI have seen many posts about this issue dating back 10+ years, and they all talked about reinstalling, restarting, deleting preferences, deleting cache. I tried most of those today, except reinstalling here's the short of it:I CANNOT move objects (shapes, images, or even rearrange pages) with a MOUSE/TABLET on InDesign. It happened suddenly today. I thought I pressed a button like Lock/Alt/Insert by accident by even unplugging keyboard doesnt helphere's a history to make it clearer1. SETUPI work with a Laptop + 2 monitors + 1 XP Pen graphics tablet. I have been using this setup for 4 months with no issues. I also take it home and sometimes work with a single screen. or 2 screens. The point is I've swapped around with display setups and I know that could trigger some errors, but this has been unique today. Laptop is connected to Monitor 2 via HDMI. Laptop is connected to Tablet via USB C. Laptop is connected to USB hub via USB C. USB Hub connects

Hi community,  I'm puzzeled for an hour now, on why my texte doesn't to wrap to the next line in a simple text box ? example:As soon as I reframe it, the text disappear and didn'T wrap to next line... ** I basically tried at first to copy text from MSword then copy it inside a text box in indesign. This undesired behavior happend. Now it does it also when I'm typing (not wrapping to next line automatically...) Frustrating, Thanks for helps, Charles C. 

I'm having an issue when I publish my file online, on the last page there are missing text boxes and logos. It is a part of a master page, but all other master pages are loading fine!!! When i export into regular PDF the missing items are there, so I'm not sure what's wrong!

I recently updated to the latest InDesign 2025 version via the creative cloud. Now every couple of hours when I am using it and I hold option and drag a text or object frame to duplicate it the program now crashes. It doesnt happen every time and when I reopen the program the drag to duplicate function works fine but then after a couple more files or an hour or two go by and it will happen again. These are all different files with different elements with no common link between them and it was not occuring before this latest patch.

Hi, I'm trying to upload an Epub to the apple store as I've been doing for years, but now I'm getting this error:ERROR ITMS-9000: epub_igualdade_racial_7ed.epub: OEBPS/content.opf(28): [OPF-027] Undefined property: 'pageBreakSource'.The pageBreakSource export option is a new feature added in the 2025 version. It's manly for epubs based on a printed version. I can validate the Epub with no errors in epubchecker. I don't want to create an extra epub only for Apple. Is anyone getting this same error?

Can anyone recommend an Open Type Font for lettered and numbered lists? When Postscript was still an option, I would use Circle Frame MT or Bundasbahn. I think some people refer to them as 'OMR bubble fonts'.

How can i remove all texts of a document which are assigned to a specific character style?

Hi, I was hoping someone could help as I have always used Indesign on Microsoft and recently have started using a Mac.  I am basically looking for the Mac version of Ctrl and Shift when resizing images in Indesign. I have tried all different combinations and cannot get the same outcome on the Mac. (the images do not keep their ratio)  Thanks! 

Hi fellow designers, I'm creating a document in InDesign working in RGB mode since it's purpose is only web-view pdf. It consists of both text and images. On one of the pages I have to insert a certain amount of logo's from several companies. However, one of those logo's (a .png created in Photoshop, using greyscale workspace) causes the colors I use in the document for e.g. text, to change from bright RGB colors to flat CMYK-like colors. At first I thought it was only an indesign preview thing, which would be solved by creating an RGB PDF. But unfortunately the color stays flat even in pdf. I've tried all sorts of ways to both save the images and export the pdf but the problem continues. Does anybody have to answer to solve this problem? Thanks.

I have created 3 xmlElements inside the story. All three have same paragraph style.// Just a dummy script for demo. if (app.selection.length > 0) { // Get the selected item var selectedItem = app.selection[0]; var test = 0; ... }   In debugger, selectedItem.textStyleRanges.length1selectedItem.textStyleRanges[0].contentsparagraph 1 paragraph 2 paragraph 3What I want is since I selected 1st tag(1st xmlElement with content paragraph 1) only that should have displayed on debug console.I need all the different style ranges  and contents from perticular xmlElement and not the contents from neighbouring xmlElements I know textStyleRanges returns that. But  is there a way to do what I want?

All the  assets were created the same way, from the same Illustrator build file. The ones that I created recently and loaded via Adobe Express show grayed out and display "This item is not supported in inDesign." Same thing happens if you try to use the library items in Illustrator.  The strange thing is that if you select the asset and then right-click on it, choose Place linked from the drop down menu, it will place it for you as normal. I have tried replacing the assets in the library to see if I can make the grayed-out status disappear, but it didn't change.  Screenshot attached of error message. Cuando utilizo la función de combinación de datos para poner los nombres de los participantes me aparecen con palomitas y otros símbolos en donde lleva tildes y ñs.Ya probé hacer el archivo con los nombres desde excel y también desde google sheets exportándolo como "valores separados por tabulaciones" (.tsv), todo se ve bien pero al momento de usarlo en indesign aparecen esos problemas.

Hey, I have a problem I have difficulties solving on my own.I prepare file in Indesign, keeping everything in sRGB IEC6...1. Export PNG files with transparent backgrounds from Procreate2. Place them in InDesign (linking)3. Indesign is set up for sRGB IEC6...4 Then I Export to pdf using sRGB IEC... as an ouput (embeding profile)I wanted to try using Adobe 5 format compatibility, to avoid downsides of Adobe 4- lines and dividing pictures to triangles, as I observed at least one printing result where printer lost parts of the images. For most of them, these lines resulting from flattening are only visible on screens (something I still would like to avoid if possible). Also, clickable table of contents would be great.So I exported PDF file with Adobe 5 compatibility and received such result on two different printers.What can I do to avoid lines, fractals, and have clicable ToC and not end up with black PNG backgrounds?Have I done anything wrong?All help appreciated!

Since my InDesign updated this morning (can't say for definite that this is connected, but hadn't noticed it before) my contextual taskbar is now 'stuck' onto the right-hand sidebar.  It's not as though it's pinned, as such, as it will move up and down, but is locked into it's horizontal position.  Clicking 'unpin' does nothing; if I hide it and then open again it reappears in the same position, in the same state. Any ideas on how to solve this ?

Hi all,Not an expert user here, but I'm usually able to solve my own problems. This one has me stumped. I am designing a children's book interior that uses Ten Oldstyle 11 pt as the main font. Occasionally, however, I want to indicate that words are text messages so I'm using American Typewriter 10 pt for that. The result is that I have some paragraphs that use both fonts. Obviously, this is throwing off the leading, which then makes it so that the bottom margin of the page is different from the rest of the pages. Is there a quick fix for this? I've tried adjusting all sorts of things in the paragraph style and the character style, but I haven't gotten any good results. See screenshot.Thanks, Suki
