InDesign

Hi grep and script experts;I want to select all paragraphs that start with a number and end with "END". But I can't select all of them because there is a table in the paragraph. Can you help me? 

Olá pessoal! Tudo bem? Ontem eu estava editando um documento de ebook no Indesign (versão mais recente) e upei ele na nuvem enquanto limpava memória pro meu computador (ele tem 9GB). Então quando fui baixar hoje novamente, ele simplesmente não finaliza o download e aponta erro na sincronização. Já fiz de tudo, reinstalei os programas, a creative cloud. Vi se era hardware, testei em outros computadores e tudo mais. Mas sempre dá o mesmo erro. Não sei o que fazer, o pior é que as duas copias estao na nuvem e nenhuma baixa  

I'm currently building a new InDesign template for our monthly journals, and I'm encountering an infuriating bug with text boxes that feature rounded corners. Now I'm well aware that the corners can start to mess with your inset spacing when using a large radius for your rounded corners, but in this case the radius is very small (just 0p4 radius with inset spacing of 0p6). The problem I keep encountering is that the top margin/inset space fluctuates by at least a full point depending on the size of the text box, which just shouldn't happen. Even changing the radius to just 1 point does not resolve the issue. Just changing the size of the text box with the handle bars in real time, you can see the text in the box jump up and down as the top margin keeps changing. And of course removing the rounded corners effect immediately fixes the problem, so it's obviously tied to that.Now of course there are plenty of work arounds for this, like just creating the box with the rounded corners separa

When I export a PDF from InDesign 2025, I get a file that is dimensionally larger than the InDesign file.It should be identical in size.How can I control the PDF export to be the correct / identical dimensions? When I export as a JPEG and open it in Photoshop, I get a file that is exactly the 297mm wide that it should be (A4 landscape) . Exporting as a PDF and I get a PDF that is about 384mm wide, so a linear scaling of almost exactly 130%. It is driving me nuts! I've tried exporting as CS4, opening in InDesign 2024, exactly the same. I have searched here and on the web, and found lots of suggestions about turning crop marks and bleed, etc on and off, but it's not that. (and lots of AI-generated nonsense that is talking about controlling file size of a PDF output, not dimensional size) Do you have any thoughts on what might be causing this madness, and even better, how to correct it? Many Thanks Stephen

I have a green background box and have placed a pair of photos with the background removed, which are mean to allow the green background to be visible and uniform across the entire file. The images and background appear accurate and uniform in indesign but when I export as a pdf and print, there is a slight, but noticable tint difference between the image boundary boxes and the background, producing a slightly darker box around each image. Any ideas if this is a print, export, pdf or indesign issue?

   El viernes pasado compré e instalé InDesign 2023. Ese día y el día siguiente el programa funcionó bien (es cierto que salía un error relacionado con Adobe Cloud, pero eso no me impedía usar el programa). Hoy, al ir a abrir un archivo me ha sucedido lo que se indica aquí. He probado a desinstalar e instalar tanto el programa como Adobe Cloud y sigue apareciendo el problema. No sólo al abrir un archivo, sino también al abrir el propio programa.

I work on Wall Calendars. Each month has a photo and a description. On the back of the calendar there is shown once again the 12 month pictures (much smaller) and their descriptions. Is there any way to make it so that when I add the picture and description to the Month page, it automatically creates the smaller instance and text on the last page. I know I can copy paste, but I am creating many different calendars and I want to save time any way I can. I am using the latest version of InDesign. 

  

I cannot add pantones to swatches in indesign, the 3 dots are missing and the eye dropper is not working. I have un installed and installed emptied caches and spoken to Pantone, (don't ask…)Have artwork to send out that uses pantones and am going a little crazy.

I have a frame, I drag an image into it... how do I set that placed image to align to the top of the frame when it is larger than that frame? Is there a keyboard sc that does this? Even when I drag the image down there is no snapping to edge.

Bonjour ! Je rencontre des problèmes lors de l'impression de certaines formes sur Indesign. Pour les besoins d'un jeu de cartes, j'ai créé plusieurs formes vides, avec un contour de 5 points. Les couleurs du contour sont un dégradé que j'ai créé, grâce à la pipette en extrayant les couleurs de l'illustration concernée. Or, une fois imprimé, on dirait que le contour est d'à peine 1 point, me donnant des lignes extrêmement fines, voire invisibles. Je précise que le dégradé de couleurs se voit malgré tout. Ils possèdent soit une opacité de 69%, soit de 80%. Aussi, le PDF ne semble pas présenter de problème, les contours sont exactement les mêmes que ceux sur le fichier Indesign.  Peut-être que je n'exporte pas mon fichier correctement en créant le PDF (pour impression) ? Je ne sais malheureusement pas à quoi toucher pour résoudre cela. Je vous joins une capture d'écran du fichier PDF, et du résultat imprimé.   Merci d'avance !

Hi all, i have a 84 page document. i want to add some cross references but it's so extremely slow. I takes like 30 seconds to load the pop-up to add the cross refenrence. any ideas why this is so slow and what i can do to fix this? thanks

Over the decades, I've come to think that two of my main purposes in life are to (a) push InDesign to the limits and beyond (Slower than molasses in February! Freeze! Crash!), and then (b) get help from the experts on this forum on how to deal with it. This is the third in a series entitled "InDesign Best Practices" in which I hope to give back to the forum, specifically to newbies like I was, with the benefit of my painful experiences. Adobe InDesign crashes when trying to place text automatically.       

Sometimes, I'm working in InDesign on my 40" ultrawide monitor at home. Sometimes, I'm working whilst traveling using my 14" laptop screen. When I'm working on my laptop, I would really, really, REALLY like to be able to edit my document without having to scroll WAY right and WAY up to get to the next odd page. I would like to view the spreads as a single-page column, just for easy of editing. I want to be able to simply scroll up and down to review and edit, like in Acrobat. I don't want the document to BE single page spreads, I just want to be able to scroll smoothly downwards on my laptop to review and edit a document. Is this possible? If not, is this worth a feature request?

Hey all. First time here.So, the selection tool isn't working. I use it to click on an element, and it gives me the big 'NO' symbol (circle with the line through it), and I can't move the element. When I hover over the element, it shows a box  with dots around it and the selection tool.I've deleted the app, reinstalled; deleted and reinstalled an earlier version. Searched commentary and now it is day four and I've given up. I've popped in a quick video ...Any help would be really appreciated.ThanksGab

Hello, I want to change the height of  a text frame to a fixed value in mm, anchoring the text frame from top center.No changes in width of text frame. Please suggest a code.Thanks and regards.

I am making a study guide and each question has an text box with discussion points which is an anchored object. I have to place the object and then go through all the steps to modify the options for the anchored objects... there are dozens and dozens of these objects. It would be nice if the options could be copied with the object or if a "style" of options could be made and then applied to the objects.

Ich arbeite mit der aktuellsten InDesign-Version 20.1 x64 auf zwei Monitoren und habe meine Bedienfelder auf dem Zweitmonitor angeordnet. Leider ist die Funktion der Bedienfelder dort seit einigen Updates erheblich eingeschränkt. So lassen sich z. B. im Farbfeldfenster keine Farben durch Ziehen eines Farbfelds auf den Plus-Button duplizieren. Die gleiche Einschränkung besteht im Ebenenfenster (kein Duplizieren/Löschen von Ebenen durch Ziehen auf den Plus- bzw. Löschen-Button, kein Verschieben von Elementen durch Ziehen des Punktes rechts auf eine neue Ebene) sowie auch im Seitenfenster (Ebenfalls kein Duplizieren und Löschen durch Ziehen möglich).Wenn ich die Bedienfelder auf den Hauptmonitor ziehe, funktioniert alles einwandfrei.        Hat jemand eine Idee für eine Lösung?

We know that every time the scripts are reinstalled, or the scripts name changes.The shortcuts set for the script will not work and you will have to set them.My shortcuts File look like this: C:\Users\adm\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 19.0-J\zh_CN\Caches\myshortCut.txtC:\Users\adm\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\Version 19.0-J\zh_CN\InDesign Shortcut Sets\myshortCut.indk My scripts are stored in D:\Program Files\ID about\JS\Then, in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2024\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Samples\Created JS.likI thought of a way to use ID's script to modify the shortcut file myshortCut.indk( maybe myshortCut.txt), to realize the setting of script shortcuts.Take "Counter words【Ctrl+Alt+W】.jsx( or jsbin)" as an example:As long as the  storage path are not changed,  then read the Ctrl+Alt+W】section and write to myshortCut.indk to modify it.There is no 【】 will not need to set. Thank you very much.
