InDesign

When I open Adobe InDesign, a white screen saying "Loading Plans and Pricing" pops up about every 10 seconds.  How can I stop it?     [Subject edited to remove "Photoshop"]      

My flip horizontal is moving the entire frame that is housing the image. It flips the while box to the left. It used to just flip the image inside of the box, but doesn't anymore. Im working in InDesign CCThis is the document in question, i want to flip the image to show the garage roller door to the opposite side.this is what happens when i use the flip horizontal tool in both the tool bar and by right click options.

Recently, I'm finding "Mojikumi: line end all 1/2 em + Kinsoku: Hard Kinsoku" is being spontaneously added as the last settings in my Para Styles, and I do not have, nor have I ever had, any Asian language installed for InDesign. Whatt's going on here? Does anyone know?

I upgraded to InDesign 2025 about 20 days ago, but I encountered several issues. The program ran very slowly, crashed frequently, and making changes to numbers required multiple clicks, which was quite odd. The final straw was when it randomly dropped text while converting to a PDF on just one page in a 36 page document. Since I was on a tight deadline for a client and couldn't afford such risks, I had to downgrade back to InDesign 2024 to complete my work. Now, as I'm trying to work on new projects, I receive an "Import failed" message 75% of the time when attempting to import a vector file. Has anyone else experienced this issue after downgrading back to 2024? If so, is there a fix?  I've been using InDesign for 20 years and have never faced such disruptive problems before. The other possibility I considered is that my files in Dropbox might have become corrupted, but the issues began right after I downgraded InDesign, so I doubt that’s the cause.

I've created an object style that includes a 3 pt stroke with a maroon color around an image box. The menu at top says those attributes are applied but you can't see the them on the image itself. I've attached a screenshot. I'm using Indesign 19.5 in CC on a Mac mini desktop. I did try quitting and restarting. No luck.

Hi everyone!I always use custom page sizes in my InDesign projects. They are handy for having multiple page sizes in a single document.The use case for this is where I will be creating different layouts of the same design such as:Print: A0, A2Digital: Landscape ScreenSocial Media: Instagram Story, Instagram Square, Instagram PortraitSUMS: Website Banner, Page Banner, Page TileThe issue I have is that the list I have created is in a random order. I would like to be able to rearrange it. As it is slowing down my workflow trying to find the page size I want from a hudge list of custom page sizes. Yes I could delete them and start again but I really don't want to do this.I've attached a screen shot to show what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance!Micky 🙂

Hello. I have a script that helps me work with documents. Now I need to work with InDesign logs (I need to display the number of the page that contains an error). Is it possible? For example, if I have an InDesign document with 3 pages and an error on the second page, I need to print a log like this: "There is an error on page 2.

Using macbookair OS14.6 ID 20.0.1   I have a book laid out with 6 indd files that are linked with one indb file. The book is a long novel and was laid out with facing pages. I want to export a flowable epub document in a single page format — not a spread format. I went through each of the 6 indd and in File > Document Setup > deselected Facing Pages. This worked on 5 of the 6 indd files. They are now just single pages. But the lead indd file, no matter what I do, even when I deselect Facing Pages, remains in facing pages format.   Any idea what is going wrong and how to fix i?   <Title renamed by MOD>

Hallo allerseits, es geht um ein ›Darstellungsproblem‹ mit InDesign: Vor etwa anderthalb Monaten habe ich einen neuen Rechner (Win 11 Home; 64-Bit-Betriebssystem, x64-basierter Prozessor; AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor 4.70 GHz; Grafikkarten: AMD Radeon (TM) Graphics, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060) installiert. Die Adobe CreativeCloud-Programme laufen einwandfrei, nur ›verrutschen‹ oder ›brechen‹ bei InDesign (20.0.1) immer wieder die Ränder oder Linien. Sie laufen nicht mehr durch, sondern sind unterbrochen. Anhand des angehängten Bildes/screenshots wird hoffentlich deutlich, was ich meine; rechts und links des Satzspiegels sind die Grundlinien gebrochen. Wenn ich die Anzeige aktualisiere, indem ich etwa in die Darstellung hinein- oder herauszoome, bauen sie sich wieder normal auf. need some help here... had same problem in the past and the only easy way was to change the font in Word before I bring it over to InDesign. The problem with doing this is that I am restricted. Some fonts in Word will change the italic and bold if I change overall..... ughhh.there must be an easy way... help thanks

How do I quickly position the layout origin to the centerline?You can double click on the top left corner to position the origin to the top left corner. How do I position the origin directly to the centerline without dragging and dropping?Drag and drop sometimes doesn't line up. It would be great if you could double click on the top left by pressing Alt or Ctrl to position the origin to the centerline. Hi all, I noticed something, but I don't know if it is actually related. InDesign 2025 on macOS runs slowly sometimes.  Seemingly unrelated, but I go to Photoshop > Preferences. Everytime Photoshop patches, the memory usage is reset to 70%. I adjust it to 30% (of 64gb memory). After adjusting Photoshop memory usage, InDesign runs faster. Related? Imaginary? What do you experience?

Bonjour,Depuis l'achat de mon disque dur externe pour stocker mon travail, je ne parviens plus à enregistrer les fichiers Indesign dessus, ni à exporter en pdf ou jpg, les fichiers n'apparaissent pas sur le disque dur.Je suis obligé de passer par le bureau pour enregistrer et exporter mes fichiers, puis ensuite les copier sur mon disque dur.Si vous avez une explication ou une solution à mon problème je suis preneuse ! Using Indesign 2025 v20 on OSX 15.01 I print hundreds of docs from Indesign and have for last 7 years - to a fine art printer (Epson SCp900) I have to use Indesign rather than Acrobat for a number of reasons. Switching to acrobat is not an option  I've always had preset documents for various paper sizes which all have 'print as bitmap' unchecked. Up until now my files have honoured that selection and remain unchecked - however Ive just realised that since (I think) v20 everytime I go to print the bitmap box is checked again.  Ive tried creating new presets, saving new documents even reprinting the same document without closing brings it back on again.  Printing as bitmap produces jagged edges (600dpi) I just uploaded my printer driver, no difference. How do I fix this? Thanks if anyone can help

Beware of InDesign 2025 - everyday a new problem. Today, CAN'T DELETE ANY BOXES - select any TEXT BOX, IMAGE BOX , press delte - it just beeps at me. The items are NOT locked, nothing on the page is locked. InDesign 2025 is GARBAGE. BEWARE, and keep InDesign 2024 Installed. 

I have a project I designed for print and my client now wishes to have this viewable online. Hello.I would like to know if there is a setting to change so that, when I close Indesign, a dialog box appears asking me if I want to close all open indesign files (if any), like in PDFs where the same question is asked until I check “Don't ask me again”.Is this possible? Or does this option not exist?

Hi!I lost my progress on a file when restarting my mac, and have been trying to retrieve it the whole day. I see my correct version in the creative cloud "previous versions of file", but with some grey rectangles with X's in them. However, when i revert to this version and open it in InDesign, the program opens an even earlier version of the file. I searched around the web and have tried different things, from deleting cache, deleting files (copied them first) from the IndesignRecovery folder and also reinstalled InDesign numerous times, both the newest version and the version which the file was created on. Additionally, i cant delete anything from the file, as InDesign then crashes and tells me that "the file is damaged". Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm creating an interactive pdf form in InDesign. There does not seem to be a way to create a form field to let the end user "add an image". The only way I have found to do this is to first, export the InDesign document as an Interactive pdf, then open the pdf in Acrobat and click the "Prepare Form" option. At this stage you can click the "Add an Image Field" button which lets you click and drag a box in the location of your choosing.Is there a way to create the "add an image" field directly in InDesign? This document is something that I need to update from time to time. Any time I need to make edits to the InDesign document, I have to export a new interactive pdf and then recreate the "Add an Image field" boxes in Acrobat. This seems like extra work that could be avoided if those "add an image" boxes were created/saved in the original InDesign document.

When I place a transparent rectangle behind some text, to make it more readable, the font of the text on the opposite page changes in weight.  It's not only a preview error in InDesign, because when I export it as a PDF the difference in font weight remains visible. This is without the transparency: This is with transparency on the left page, and the font weigth on the right page changes.  On the next spread, the font is normal again.The font I use is Jost. Why does it do this and how can I fix it?Please help. Kind regards
