Noticing that the asset cloud link has the ability to redline and comment, but that the redlines do not come over in InDesign as they do when you import Adobe comments/redlines. This feature would be hugeeee for our industry. <Title renamed by MOD>
The program suddenly closes when trying to edit a specific part of the text, and I don’t know why. This happens multiple times. <Title renamed by MOD>
When I insert text inside an object like a solid square block by selecting it with the Type Tool, I used to be able to double click the handles on the box to remove unwanted space. That doesn't seem to be working any more. And I'm not sure if this is related but when I go to the Object menu and select Content from the dropdown — Graphic, Text and Unassigned are all grey out. At least one of those three would be selectable at all times. I've tried resetting prefs but as usual this never seems to fix anything! Can anyone help or has this been a intended (but very unuseful) change in InDesign. I am using version 19.5. <Title renamed by MOD>

I am publishing an interactive project online for a client, but also want them to be able to download it as a PDF. When I am publishing it, I select "Allow viewers to download the document as a PDF." But when I or anyone else tries to download it, it opens a page that simply says "Not Found" I've tried selecting different PDF presents in the Advanced section to see if that helps, but it doesn't. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a way to resolve it? Thanks!

Hi everyone !I have an InDesign document with more than 400 times "CO2". I absolutely need to replace all "CO2" by CO2 : the "2" has to be in subscript. Is there a way to use the tool "Replace" with subscript ? Thanks
Hello everyone!I have an interactive button (Button A) that appears/disappears with the click of a separate button (Button B). Button A is made up of several rectangles that are grouped and then made into a button. The document will be updated several times, so I would like to be able to add rectangles to Button A without having to redo the "button-ing" process, but I haven't figured out how to do it. Is it possible?Thank you!/Kaj
How do I make InDesign zoom action focus on the spread or page instead of focusing on the selected object? Having to deselect everything, zoom, then select again It's extremely counter-productive, knowing that zooming in/out might be the one of the most swiftly utilized functions.<Title renamed by MOD>
I need to clean up my InDesign book filen and one think I would like to do is to delete all unused styles (object, paragraph and text) in all open documents (I will ensure the document which I use as a style master will be closed, then I will synchronise all documents)? This is my idea how to clean up and also deal with figuring out which of the document still use styles which have not been grouped and I will then address these styles using the replace function.I assume it is possible to write a script doing this, but am new to scripte in InDesign (use actions and scrips more frequently in Photoshop), so would be super happy if I can get som guidance in this.
Hi, CC 2018 Mac and Win has stopped working for. I haven't used 2018 for probably a year. I wanted to test a PlugIn in this version, it just does not want to work. InDesign > 2018 all work. When I launch 2018 I am invited to sign in ( I am already signed in, I can use 2019 ). When I do sigin again, 2018 behaves like a trial version. Anyone else seeing this? Thank you. I am trying to package an InDesign file on my Macbook and move it to a Mac desktop linked to my university's printers. When I package the InDesign file, two of the fonts are protected. I have managed to evade this by outlining the fonts- however, I am unsure why this happens. I am opening this packaged file on the same Adobe account (which has an enterprise subscription and all the same activated fonts), so I am unsure why the fonts are not coming across. Any ideas?
Hola Comunidad.Me podrían dar opciones de plataformas gratuitas donde subir Epub Interactivos (Con botones, transiciones, animaciones, videos, audios), ya que los que encuentro no reproducen lo interactivo.Gracias!!
Trying to get the correct colors on exported PDFs both for print and for web (interactive). Once exported the colors are saturated. I've tried these solutions but nothing has changed the output:- High Quality Print, Press Quality templates- Set your Transparency Blend Space to Document RGB- Use PDF/X-4- Check Color Settings- Making a new document and adding the images after checking settings above- Uninstall and reinstall After messing around a little, I found that the exported colors come out the same as if my Color Settings > Settings was set to Emulate Adobe InDesign 2.0 CMS Off, but it is set to North America General Purpose 2. On the screenshot: left is InDesign view + correct JPG colors, right is the exported PDF colors.
Hi all!I've recently noticed that in creating an accessible pdf, the Articles panel is giving me a little trouble. It seems that the order of objects on the Articles panel is not determining the Reading Order in PDF. All of the required checkboxes are checked, including one that used to say "Use for Reading Order in Tagged PDF" but now says "Use for Tab Order in Tagged PDF." Does the Articles tab no longer control the reading order in PDF? Is this a bug or just a feature that is no longer supported?
I am making an interactive document with Indesign, and I wanted to know if you could limit the words in the text field? – As for now the user can just keep writing in the textfield, which is not that slick. Anyone who have a hack for this issue? <Title renamed by MOD>
I'm having issues installing the latest version of Indesign Server on a Windows Server 2019. The application will not install. This message is shown... The logs don't mention any clear indication. The only thing we notice is this in the deployment report ... <errorCode>7</errorCode><errorSubCode>195</errorSubCode> After Googling, it seems 195 has something to do with prerequisites, but they all seem to be valid. The server did contain the Indesign Server 2022 version, which could be installed succesfully. How do I find out what the problem is quickly?
Hi, is there any way to get (or anyplace that shows) the total number of changes/corrections made in an InDesign galley? (with Track Changes on, of course) <Title renamed by MOD>
Hello InDesign gurus: Urgent help needed with Indesign book creation.I imported a file into the book (INDB) panel. The file has 9 pages (with 4 section starts within the file) but the book panel says the page range is 1-2. Attached is a screen shot of the Book Pane showing page range and another of the actual page range. How can this be fixed?More distressing and possibly related to the above: InDesign also crashes every time I make a test PDF from that file from the book panel. The 26 other files that make up this book all show the correct page range, are fine when exporting to PDF from book panel is individual PDFs and also as compiled PDF. But the problem file is crucial to the functionality of the complete book - it contains the table of contents, among other things. My troubleshooting steps so far: checked all links (there are hundreds) - they work properly cleared cache & preferences, then restarted InDesign checked fonts - no problem here saved the problem fi
I am working on a bibliography whose text includes all the usual font weights plus some words in all caps, some in small caps. Variations are from paragraph to paragraph. The Word document has been prepared to accommodate these differences. When it is flowed into InDesign, many peculiar things happen. Entire paragraphs are all caps, are italics, are both etc. No character styles have been applied. There should be one for the first word of the paragraph; this is not applied with the paragraph style. When the text is flowed in the various caps, italics, small caps etc. must be maintained while allowing the regular text to be regular text. I just checked a previous version, and this problem was not occurring. I did change the font, but surely that wouldn't cause this problem? Why would this happen? What do I do? I' am attaching the original Word document and the InDesign document. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi,I'm having the same issues. I can't keep creating new files for bugs on Adobe's end. Libraries are meant to resolve issues for us, not create more. My libraries work perfectly well, the files are perfectly linked when opened, once I package them I get no errors, but when I open them after packaging the linked files go missing, causing an enormous burden since I have to go link them manually. This shouldn't be happening and I shouldn't have to create new files. Any thoughts?
I've come across an issue where non-existent links appear in InDesign files that have been reused, i.e., when creating a series of branded documents. 'Go to Link' in the Links panel does nothing and, when you hover over the < > symbol beside the link, the tooltip says "XML structure element, not in layout". However, when you search the structure, they're impossible to find. I've now discovered (by exporting XML and viewing in Xcode) that structure elements are not deleted when you delete content from a file so that explains the non-existent links – they're throwbacks to the content of the original file. Indeed, if you open the Structure panel and delete content, you'll see the Structure panel does not update. So, how do you get rid of structure elements relating to the original file's content when there doesn't appear to be any way of identifing which elements are throwback and which are new? I've seen a fix that suggests untagging everything but that's too de
I have InDesign through Adobe Cloud and keep it up-to-date.I am trying to create an epub and have run into several snags: 1) When I export I get the message: "Custom Layout settings in Object Export Options have not been honored for group children, button states and inline objects."How do I resolve this? 2) The ebook looks great and works great on calibre etc. But when running it through an epub validator, I get the following:"ERROR(RSC-012): OEBPS/content.opf(54,109): Fragment identifier is not defined""ERROR(RSC-012): OEBPS/toc.xhtml(103,98): Fragment identifier is not defined""ERROR(RSC-012): OEBPS/toc.xhtml(104,98): Fragment identifier is not defined"How do I locate and resolve these issues? I also get:"INFO(RSC-004): OEBPS/font/Georgia-Bold.ttf" could not be decrypted""INFO(RSC-004): OEBPS/font/Georgia-BoldItalic.ttf" could not be decrypted""INFO(RSC-004): OEBPS/font/Georgia-Italic.ttf" could not be decrypted""INFO(RSC-004): OEBPS/font/Georgia.ttf"
