Hello everyone. Sometimes, after several hours of work, the InDesign menus get completely misaligned! For example, right now when I click "Save As," the "Print Booklet" window opens instead. It’s a real hassle—everything is off! Thanks for your help, and have a great day. Olivier

This happens to me every now and then: InDesign completely messes up the preview on my screen. If I zoom in or out, it usually disappears.At first, I blamed it on my old computer, where the graphics card was probably failing, but the same problem persists on my new Mac Mini.It doesn't seem to happen at all; it's completely random. This issue is still not fixed with the latest update (21.0.1), and it's even worse.If I move an object with a drop shadow, InDesign "moves" the entire shadow. Zooming in and out doesn't help; I have to completely close and reopen the document for it to work as it should.

Mac, OS Tahoe 26.3.1 (a)In the past I have had this problem with Illustrator and Photoshop. Now it sometimes appears with InDesign as well. If I try to drag the active window to another place on my screen, by dragging from the top of the window, it disappears behind all other apps currently open. Oddly, any free floating palettes stay on top. If I can still see a part of the window, I can click on it to bring it back to the front. If not, I have to go to the dock to bring it forward. Nothing is lost so this is an annoyance rather than a real problem, but why does it happen and why is it now happening with ID as well as the others? 

OS: WindowsVersion: 21.6 x64While trying to import files or place SVG when the show import options is selected it doesn’t open the options dialogue window. I need to rasterize the vector graph because the chart is 100% clear in PNG but SVG typical density is distorted and high density clears/wipes out many things in the chart. high density display 

Description of Issue:When managing large-scale brand guidelines containing dozens of colors nested inside multiple Color Groups (folders), importing swatches via standard methods (Import .ase or Load Swatches from .indd) completely breaks the user's intended layout order and folder hierarchy.Steps We Tried That Failed / Had Major Limitations:Direct .ase or Layout File Import: Importing the master palette causes the internal sequence of the Swatches panel to reverse entirely. The top color folder stacks at the bottom, and the bottom color folder pushes to the top. Individual swatches inside the groups are also flipped upside-down due to sequential bottom-up reading during import. Batch Moving Color Groups to Correct Order (Option 1 Failure): Highlighting multiple inverted Color Groups simultaneously and dragging them to snap the order back causes InDesign to completely collapse the folders. It dumps all individual swatches into a massive, disorganized vertical list, losing all structura

why is the aspect ratio in indesign always off? i have to turn it on everytime i have to resize an object.it used to retain its last position used.is this a bug or is there a way around making default the proportionate resizing?mac os 15.1.1indesign 20.0

For the past month or two, any time I try to Place a file or update a Placed file, InDesign usually freezes. The cursor turns into the spinning circle. I can close and save the files after this, but cannot close the InDesign app. I try various ways to place the files. File > Place or Ctrl D or copy and paste the placed file from another InDesign file. The files I use are typically on my Google Drive and I’ve installed the Drive app on my machine.This is REALLY getting annoying. Adobe used to be so good with bugs. Any ideas? I’ve read a few posts that say they thought version 21.3 fixed this issue but I’ve still got it.I’ve reset preferences, cleared old versions of InDesign, reinstalled InDesign. InDesign 21.3Core i9 processorWindows 11 home64 GB RAM500+ GB hard drive space Thanks in advance for any tips.

InDesign crashes and shuts down whenever I try to update links. The application is up to date, and the crash log has been submitted to Adobe. Is anyone else running into this issue?

I've been trying madly to find any version of the IDML (XML) specification online. I've found many resources, both Adobe and third parties, that reference this URL: https://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/indesign/sdk/cs6/idml/idml-specification.pdf ...but that now results in an error. For the life of me, after extensive searching, I cannot find any mirror of that document anywhere. It seems very strange, as it's supposed to be a public specification, and is used by several other software vendors. Past discussions also reference an 'IDML cookbook,' which may have also resided in the same place, but which is also now gone. Can anyone from Adobe -- or otherwise -- try to find a current link?

I can start a project in any of the three programs (In, AI, PS) I can create shapes, content boxes, or insert a photo and click and drag it into place at the scale I want.However when I try to resize it after the original placement it will not resize. I can move things with the arow keys, I can select corners and click and drag to select things, I just can not move the items once I click them. Sometimes, It will also work for one or two click and drags and then stop working again.I have rename the Adobe Illustrator XX folders.I have uninstalled and reinstalled. New and older versions.I have deleted previous versions and all the folders in my system.I have tried closing all other apps and only running one of these programs at a time.This is a recent thing, within the past month on my PC.  It works on my Desktop, something changed in the last month when I installed the latest update and it will not revert to the previous version.Please help,

I'm trying and failing to get variable width columns using 'text frame options' dialogue.  For example, two columns, one 2/3 the width of the page and one 1/3.  Is it possible?

I have a book with some dozen files. The files are all open, synchronised, page numbers updates and fully preflighted. I Have Generate Index.,Include Book Documents.Enable Replace Existing Index.Yet, the index fails to pick up numerous entries.See image, there are many many entries for ‘Kevin’ but only one picked up. Grateful for any help

Hi, Is it really still not possible to use custom icons for a custom UXP script panel that we write? No matter what I do, I'm still stuck with the default icon. UXP has been around for a couple of years now, and this is still not supported? (It was totally possible in the outdated CEP), but not in UXP? whole panelsicons: IconsThank you.

The developer release notes state that starting with version 22 (InDesign 2027) the SDK will only support Visual Studio Enterprise 2026. The requirement to use the enterprise version of Visual Studio was never ther in all the years that I have developped plugins. Did anyone try to compile v22 plugins using the Professional version of VS 2026 ?

Is it not possible to use "Track Changes" in footnotes? Is this by design, or is it a bug?

After a recent update, my InDesign is now showing all these stupid pop-ups the whole time. Screenshot attached.  To be absolutely clear, I am talking about the entire dialogue box, not the tool-tip illustrateed in a section of the dialogue box shown.   How do I kill them off once and for all ?  I've looked through Preferences but canot spot anything obvious.       <Title renamed by MOD>

InDesign crashes every time I mount a picture. I have tried different versions of the program but same result. It happens no matter what picture I mount. I have changed computer but that didn`t help either. My co workers with the exact same computer have no trouble mounting the same pictures that I try to mount, so the pictures can`t be the problem. What can I try next?
