Lightroom Classic

After the update that came both in Lightroom and Photoshop (normal and beta) in June 20. 2025, I found out that in Lightroom classic the remove with generative ai is not working. Not only it takes ages to process, but in the end it gives an error. Hi, I am currently (still) using LR4.4, but would like to try LR Classic perhaps for a few months to see whether or not it is worth a montly conscription fee. My question is: does downloading/installing Lightroom Classic delete/overwrite my LR4.4 install? Or can I go back to LR4.4 if I choose not to continue with LR Classic.  (I know that catalogues from Classic cannot be opened by LR4.4) - so this question is about the app/software, not about image/catalogue compatibility. Thanks in advanceErik Jan

Hi, I'd like to make it hard for me to delete certain photos in my library. For example, I'm a bird photographer, and sometimes I'll have two photos that are nearly identical, so I'd normally delete one of them, but sometimes the two photos show two different subtle features, so I want to keep both. However, if I'm later just looking for nearly-identical photos, I might delete one of them forgetting about the subtle feature. It'd be great if I could "lock" a photo and only be able to delete it once I unlock it to save me from myself. I can't any way to do this. I did think of adding a special keyword and then writing a Lua plugin that deletes photos which are rejected unless they have that special keyword. Before I did that, I wanted to see if there was an easier way. Thanks, Eric

Hello friendsMacOS and latest LRC I have just noticed that files imported on and after July 1, 2024, are not creating xmp files, even after editing. The raw file is there, and when opened in LRC, the edits are there, but there are no xmp's. Any idea why?John

In the Adobe Camera Raw supported cameras, the new Canon R5 MkII is listed as already supported.   But, altough the "Camera matching profile available" collumn is marked as "Yes", it has a 6 in-between brackets, something that looks like call to a note (the R8, the R50 and the R100 also show this).   However, I don't seem able to find any not, both at the end of the Canon cameras table, nor at the end of the full cameras list.   What dos that (6) mean?   Thank you in advance for any help.   AK

Before the installation of LRC 14.4 Release and Camera Raw 17.4, I tweaked photos by using the Smart Preview version of the photos. It is because I experienced significant lagging if using the original versions of the photos, with longest side of 8,192 or 6,000.  Further, I sometimes take my laptop out for meeting clients.As I have installed the said updates, LRC asked me to turn off editing by Smart Preview as the new AI process would be affected. I did so.  Then, I imported around 500 photos to LRC, and I experienced much lagging again.  When I applied a preset (without AI mask) across 10 photos, it took a few minutes to update the thumbnails.  (When I turned on Smart Preview, it was much smooth (but not rapid at all).) Can you advise when should I use Smart Preview and when should not? (It takes quite some time to generate Smart Preview indeed). 

Just lost all edits and cull in catalog after exiting and coming back into it 3 hours later. Reverted back to imported images with no edit history or my star ratings. Hello,I have the last iteration of the "perpetual license" Lightroom 6 with Camera Raw 9.When trying to import files by Canon 5D Mark IV the preview thumbnails appear grey with a message "Preview unavailable for this file" (screenshot).The files are the regular type, not dual-pixel and are in both sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spaces. My PC runs on Windows 10. I am aware that this issue has been around since around 2017 at least but I could not find a working solution so please help with advice. I had to downgrade to version 13.0 to get the tethering function to work again. See a lot of people have the same issue with several different cameras. With the new version of Lightroom standard, the link to edit in photoshop just hangs. Going back a version there too. Had no problems on previous versions. Using Windows 11 on a dell computer. PC custom buildt for handling video and graphics.

I was all excited for the new native tethering support in LR Classic for the Fuji GFX 100. I just got a new MacPro M4 Max. Installed LR 14.4 and tried to connect the Fuji GFX100. I would not connect. I tried all the settings in the camera for USB connect. No go. I tried installing the Fuji Tether plugin 1.31.03. With that I can connect to the GFX100, but not from within LR Classic.  I moved the camera over to anohter Macbook Pro M1 Max. I had just upgraded LR Classic to 14.4. It no longer works. I can no longer connect the camera. I downgraded to LR Classic 14.1.1 on that machine, and voila! Camera works again.  Me thinks there is an issue with the tethered support on LR Classic 14.4 and it breaks camera connectivity.  I've had to downgrade back to 14.1.1 on my machines as that works fine using the Fuji plugin. 

Dear All I set up LR classic to synch with LR CC and all worked fine. The computer crashed later on and now whenever I open up LR classic I get the sync error meessage (see below). I have tried uniinstalling restarting and reinstalling but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks Paul 

Hola, Necesito poder automatizar el proceso de hacer "Update" en el módulo "Transform" del panel "Revelar" para hacer el proceso del click en el botón "Actualizar" de forma masiva (1000 fotos). Es decir, no sólo aplicar el modo "Automático" dentro del panel Transform - Upright, sino que el click posterior en el botón "actualizar" para que se aplique el cambio, también se pueda aplicar en lote. Si no se puede hacer una aplicación en lote del proceso "Transform" -> "Auto" -> "Update" que se pueda crear un shortcut para este proceso, ya que el botón "Actualizar" tarda en activarse al cambiar de una foto a otra. Hay que pasar por cada foto (en procesos de 1000 fotos), esperar a que se active el botón "Actualizar" y hacer click, es un click por cambio de foto y otro en el botón "Actualizar", ralentizando mucho el proceso de revelado. LR 14.3.1 Camer Raw: 17.3 .1.   Mac OS 15.5Problem:  Import preset (Preferences > Presets tab) looses appled edits if .ARW raw file is converted to .DNG    Works fine if the file is imported as .ARW   This has occurred for about 1 year now but was not the case prior to that.  This occurs at import time if "copy as DNG" is select or if the file is converted to a DNG after import.   If I manually apply the preset in the Develop module to a .DNG it applies fine however I import different raw files from different cameras thus have different presets so this is labour intensive.  Be nice if it was fixed as it did work. I have attached the raw preset and    Raw file attached which will take the preset fine.  Converting it to DNG will loose the preset settings. Seems like a bug to me.  

Hello everyone. I stumbled upon a problem with Ai denoise thing. You see, it was working all right past months, and even last week, but today it decided to not generate new DNG (Ai denoised) pic. I click on "denoise" as always, choose reasonable amount of denoising, click "enhance", it shows that it's processing in top left corner as always, and then nothing. No denoised picture. Anywhere. Doesn't show any errors either, just generates it for ~30 seconds, and that's it. I'm stuck with undenoised pic. Any tips? Thank you!

Sorry for the vague term "whacko", but I think that is correct. I have seen multiple crashes while typing into the caption field, many instances of the text shown in the field being not at all what I typed, and different text displayed depending on whether the field is active for editing or not. In short, there are multiple incorrect behaviors that may be related. Hence, it is whacko. At this point I am restarting LrC about every 5 minutes due to crashes or serious anomalous behavior.  Any suggestions for a work around?  I can get a video of anomalous behavior if anyone cares. Bug report info: 1. LrC 13.2  2. macOS  14.3.1. 3. enter a a bunch of captions. I am working through a set of 60 images. I get maybe 2 or 3 in a row without problems. Then I have to restart. The text is simple English, only letters, space and simple punctuation (“.”, “,”). I have spell checking while typing turned on. The captions are probably less than 40 words. 4. Hi All, Hoping you can help me out.  I recently tried to backup my LRC catalog on my Mac and it got stuck about halfway and stopped backing up.  The blue progress bar just stopped moving to the right.  When I force quit LRC, and tried to reopen it, it says the catalog is corrupt and cannot be repaired.  So, I switched to a backup catalog from a backup from 2 weeks ago and it opened just fine.  But when I backed it up immediately to test the backup, the blue bar got stuck again in the same spot and the process repeats.  I've done this twice now with my last 2 backups.  I have several more backups from farther back in time, but I'm afraid they will get corrupted as well if I use them.  Any ideas? Thanks 

Good afternoon, I've been having problems with GPU acceleration in Lightroom.When I enable graphics acceleration, when using masks, it gets slower.When I disable the graphics card, it gets faster.I've already replaced the graphics cards and the problem persists. I used an nvidia rtx 5060 TI 16 gigabytes I used an nvidia rtx 3060 12 gigabytes I used a radeon rx 7600 16 gigas The problem occurs with these 3 graphics cards. The system I have is the following: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor 4.30 GHz Asus tuf Gaming x870 plus wifi 2 T nvme 64.0 GB ddr5 6000Mhz Windows 10 Home How can I solve the problem?The drivers is up to date

Hello. I've tried researching training videos for LR but it is challenging to find ones that are not for LRC. Can anyone point me in the right direction for LR workflow videos? I'm switching over after all these years. Thanks!

I've created a slideshow in Lightroom Classic that includes slides with NEF, DNG, HEIC, and MP4 files.  It plays perfectly on my PC.  I tried exporting it as a PDF, but the videos didn't work.  I tried exporting it as a video, but I don't like not being able to move from slide to slide at will and some of the videos don't play in full because of how long each slide plays.   I think that if I could copy the slideshow to my iPhone I could then cast it to the TV and that would work perfectly.  The question is how do I do that?   

Just updtaed LR.  Now when I use Zerene Stacker to do a focus-stacked set of images, if I have cretaed more than one file I can just import the first one back into Lightroom.  It shows the correct number to be imported but then it pops up a message that says No photos or videos were found to import.   Is there a way around it or do I need step back to the previous LR version? <Mod:> The title has been updated to reflect the change in how Duplicates are handled in 14.4.

Hi, I'm using LrC 14.3.1 on a new Mac Studio (M4 Max, 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, 64GB RAM) running Sequoia 15.5.  Everything is up to date.  When I use the AI Lens Blur tool in any capacity, it initially performs correctly, until I zoom in.  The blur does not appear to sync up with the outline of the subject, causing rough edges and even disfigurement of the subject.  Unfortunately these issues are also present when I export the image, making the Lens Blur tool unusable.   Below is an iPhone photo of my screen.

The new 14.4 lightroom update now will detect duplicates based on capture time. I sometimes rename a file to be able to upload it to lightroom when processed elsewhere. I want both in lightroom folder. Will the new update prevent that? How do I get around it?

Buenas, estoy intentando instalar unos presets .xmp para editar .Utilico macos sequoia 15.3 ,  lightroom en su última versión lso archivos estan en  .xm p. los intalo en lightroom en ajustes preestablecidos > importar   y sorpresa, no los encuentro por ningún lado.  Cosas que he hecho:he entrado a la carpeta de "develop presets" los he pegado ahí también.he ido a ajustes de lightroom > preferencias> ajustes preestablecidos >   mostrar ajustes preestablecidos . y ahí he vuelto a pegar la carpeta con los .xmp y nada.  No se que más hacer, pero no me aparecen por ningun lado. 

Hallo miteinander, seit einige Tage habe das Problem, ich bearbeite fortlaufend die Fotos teilweise auch mit KI genererator, und am Schluss wenn ich die Bilder exportiere, werden die Bilder in Original (unbearbeitet) exportiert. Ich muss die Bilder bearbeitungen aktualisieren und dann sofort einzeln exportieren, erst dann funtioniert, kann mir jemand helfen an was das Problem liegen kann? Habe Lightroom neu installiert und die Gallerie aktuialisiert aber geht es trotzdem nicht.

Can anyone with help?Why can Lightroom read all 300+ files on my SD card but Lightroom Classic only seems to find 2 photos? Last shoot it could read all with no issue but the time before I had the same problem, 500 files on the SD card but only 100 according to LRC. & when I tried the workaround of uploading the photos to the Cloud via Lightroom it freezes when syncing the photos to Lightroom ClassicThanks
