I have been using Lightoom Classic for several years with no problems. I am currently using version 13.4 on my Dell Laptop running Windows 11 and now cannot import any new mp4 video files. I uninstalled lightroom and started from scratch and tried importing all of my photos and mp4 files again. It now fails to import any of my mp4 files that were previously imported with no problem. I also run Lightroom Classic on my Macbook Air and that imports all my videos with no problem. What is going on?
Hi, I have been facing the beachball spinning issue in LRC. The Beachball starts spinning on every click, and it is delaying my editing. Please let me know if we can connect or if you need any more information in order to resolve this issue. I installed LrC 14.3.1 yesterday and the Denoise function will not work on any .dng files. It worked perfectly in 13.4 for hundreds of images. A "There was an Unknown Error" message appears. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions? I'm working on an iMac running Sequoia 15.4.1.

I have multiple older Lightroom classic backups, but after I delete the older ones (not latest) I have problems getting Lightroom Classic to open. I have to restore deleted folders to allow start up. This seems to have happened after V12 as I did not have issues in V 11. Does anyone else have or had this issue and how do I overcome this. I open the backup folder on my drive and find the backups and deleted the older ones from the file exploding in Windows 11
I have been having issues with my subject masking lately. It will not detect the outline of the person or any of the individual features; such as the hair, eyes, etc. When a subject is selected, it only shows a box around where the person is in the photo...not the person itself. I have an older version of Lightroom Classic on my laptop & have not had the issue with the older version; leading me to assume it is a bug with the newest update. Additional Information: Version: 12.3 on Windows10
Since some days, my Lightroom classic 14.1.1 run on latest MACOS version (15.2) on M2 max crash after some seconds after launch even without doing anything. I tried to stop synchro and face recognition without improvement. I tried to downgrade to 14.1 with worked fine without improvement. Now back to 14.1.1 and same problem.Send reports to Adobe each time.Any clue ?Regards [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
I have had LRC for several years but never really understood how to handle filing and storage. Now LRC has an error and corrupt catalog after ceding the Mac mini's storage space. Is there a basic tutorial w step-by-step directions for file management? I've mucked it up pretty good. Mac mini is 2018 so an intel processor. Current IOS and LRC versions. Thanks!
Im having an issue with generative AI fill where the selection that I draw disappears in my "refine selection" selection. Only the selection disappears, but it still works when I prompt it to remove. Oftentimes I can brush back over it and it will begin to show what my previous selection was. https://vimeo.com/1091870251?share=copy The video shows that when I brush back over the selection, it selects my previous selection, but it does not stay selected. It continually disappears, but will still generate content there when prompted. It makes it difficult to refine the shape around an object when I cannot see what I am generating.

Environment: LrC 14.3.1 on macOS Sonoma 14.7.6.I moved my LrC catalog (actually, ~/Pictures/Lightroom/) to an external disk on which I store my pictures, so I could attach the disk to another computer when needed. Steps:Ensure LrC is not runningIn Finder, create the target folder on the external disk (/Volumes/ExternalDiskName/Lightroom)Open Terminal.appType: cd ~/Pictures/Library/Type: cp -pr * /Volumes/ExternalDiskName/Lightroom/Type: cd ..Type: mv Lightroom __old__LightroomOpen LrC (note: in the previous step we renamed the local copy of the Lightroom folder so LrC would not find it)Verify that you can access the imagesOptional: move locally store files to external diskClose LrC or open back up dialog (in my case, the last time I backed up the catalog was >1 week, so the backup dialog appeared when closing LrC) When closing LrC the "Back Up Catalog" dialog appeared, with an ambiguous red warning. The weird thing is that the dialog correctly states "Backup
Hello everyone. I’m coming to you with a problem in Lightroom Classic version 14.3.1. The issue is that LRc doesn’t detect the graphics processor, and when using masks, brushes, or generative denoise, the computer starts to restart. Unfortunately, this prevents me from working. In LRc’s performance settings, I don’t have the option to choose whether to use the integrated graphics card or the external graphics card. The steps I’ve taken include downloading the drivers for my graphics card and performing a clean driver installation. This didn’t help. I also performed a factory reset. That didn’t help either. My computer components are: - MSI Z370 Gaming Plus motherboard - 32GB RAM - i5-8600k overclocked to 4.6 GHz - GTX 1080 - Windows 10
Hi,I installed the new Lightroom Classic CC and now experience syncing errors. A collection that should have 370 photos shows up in LR CC (mobile and web) as having only 318. I can see sync errors under preferences, but don't know where to go from there. It just says "Error".Any idea?On Windows 10, if that matters BestHenrik
LRC v13.2m /Camera Raw v 16.2 (Windows). I use a Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I am unable to import .cr2 files into LRC. The software doesn't recognize my latest .cr2 files. Older .cr2 files (which I was able to import in prior versions of LRC) are listed with a "Preview Unavailable for This File" message, and when I try to import them, I get a the error message "The file appears to be unsupported or damaged". I am able to open the same (old and new) .cr2 files in Photoshop's camera raw. All my raw files are on my hardrive. I've uninstalled and reinstalled LRC. No change. Anyone have suggestions on how to resolved this? Thanks.
Hi everyone, I have a M3 Pro Macbook Pro, 18GB RAM I'm a professional photographer using LrC as my main editing software and at some point, after updating from version 13.3, it became very slow: Ai noise reduction was painfully slow and export times took very long. I rolled back to version 13.3 and it went back to normal, with the laptop processing Ai NR at about 5 seconds/photo, for reference. Well today, after being away from the laptop for a week, the same thing happened. LrC is painfully slow, for reference Ai NR is taking 30secs for a single photo and export times are very long. I'm very stressed as my LrC is an important tool in my workflow. What I've done to try to fix the issue (without success):- Restarted the machine;- Updated LrC to the latest available version (14.3.1);- Moved catalog from external hard drive to the laptop's ssd.- Deleted previews and optimized catalog;- Turned graphics processing off and changed Camera Raw cache from 5 to 10GB;- The laptop f
Good morning everyone. I had this problem with Lightroom Classic for many years, and never found a solution.Especially while uploading pictures to Pic-Time, but also when exporting, LRC freezes my pc, even with half of RAM still unused. I have an i9 12900K with 64 gb DDR5 RAM.When I send my pictures to Pic-Time using Publish Services, I can't do anything with my pc, and checking with ctrl+alt+del the memory usage, is at 49% with LRC using only 27 gb of RAM. Anybody have faced and solved problems like this? Thanks in advance.
Somehow I lost many old photos from a migration process from my iMac to my Mac Studio and/or a Lightroom photos update process about a year ago, and I'm just now getting around to trying to resolve this major issue. Can anyone tell me a step-by-step method to rejoin my missing photos I have from old Master Catalogs that I restored from a 2022 backup? Can Lightroom Classic (latest version) intelligently match the missing photos in my current catalog and without duplication? And finally, what choices should I make before I attempt to import the missing photos from my older catalog to my current catalog? Thank you very much!
Hey,Found some contradicting information about the folder, so I wanted the expert's advice 🙂1) Although the Adobe FAQ recommends backing up the folder, and I got an error message stating that the data is invalid without the folder, I've seen in this post that LRC should be able to recover this information if the folder wasn't backed up with the catalog. What is true?2) What exactly are the "AI-based edits" the attached error message refers to?Any additional information about this folder will be appreciated. Thank you!
No one asked for sound effects in Lightroom. They are jarring and distracting, no benifit for them while I am editing. Has anyone been able to turn them off without going into my computer settings? That "swoosh" sound when deleting a heal or remove mark/point is infuriating! Please, devopers, we love metaphorical "bells and whistles" but we DO NOT want LITERAL bells and whistels going off while we are focued on editing.
Ok, I've had three attempts at trying Adobe support to find an answer; first time resulted in an email that didn't fix the problem, second two times the chat "ended" unexpectedly without any resolution. Rather than explain, from scratch, a fourth time, I'll put it here: Lightroom Classic v14.3.1 macOS Sequoia v15.5 I have a separate catalog to sync images that I take on my iPhone, with Lr mobile (v10.3.1), to Lightroom Classic on my laptop. That catalog had/has an external HDD set for the location of "Lightroom's Synced images" The checkbox for "Use subfolders formatted by capture date" is checked The external HDD did, indeed, have all of the mobile images in subfolders. I wanted to move that collection of images to my internal SSD I changed the location, in the preferences. Lr asked if I wanted it to move them, which I did. Lr ran for a while, moved a bunch, and then failed a bunch. Upon closer inspection the destination folder did NOT contain any subfolders (whic
LRc 14 reading every single files images in my catalog disk usage 100%. Ever since migrating from 12.x to 14.x (14.0.1 and 14.1), it seems that Lightroom Classic just want to scan my entire images from my catalog. Looking at the Ressources Monitor (Windows 10 latest), it's scanning (reading) all files from the early years to now, and reading the catalog lrcat file. It's comparing? So I have 250000 pictures, it's scanning everyting from the past years, disk usage (hard drive) is 100%. Right now, after 22 minutes of reading, it stopped reading the storage, and it's writting to the catalog lrcat file (with one or two threads). While it's scanning, I can still continue to work, but it's clower and some stuff is not working, like when an image is "set as rejected" , it's not greyed out. After the scan, the flagged picture are now greyed out. This is the 3rd time it happened. Also, If I close LRc, the app is not on the desktop anymore, b
Hi,I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why Lightroom Classic (14.3.1) doesnt seem to use the performance cores of my m4max macbook pro AT ALL during export? it's slowly chugging along on the 4 efficiency cores, while the real workhorses sit idle. The Gpu is not maxed out either, nor is the Ram. I found many sources stating this behavior on the m4 macbook air, but couldn't really find sources about the macbook pro and find this really odd. Anybody else noticed this?
I'm getting quite frustrated with the seeming inability of Lightroom Classic to import video files from any source. Fails with Nikon, iphone and Olympus video files, all of which play fine elsewhere (e.g. Quicktime). The same problem on an imac with a massive lightroom library, and a macbook pro with a clean install and tiny library. Have cleared the video cache and turned off graphics card acceleration. Doesn't matter if I import directly from the camera, a card, or copy it into an empty folder on the laptop and import from that. Nothing seems to work.Always get the helpful "there is a problem with the video file" error.Has anyone been able to resolve this? Many thanks,Dan
I have just bought a Canon RF 10-20 f4 L Stm lens which I use on EOS R6 mk2. I have noticed that when I import the RAW images to lightroom, bad black vignette is added ot the image when lens corrections are disabled. I am not applying any processing presets for the import so everything is set to default. Default seems to apply lens correction these days, however when I turn off said lens correction this vignette is added. Looking at the RAW CR3 image, no such vignette is present.Attached is screengrab of the RAW file and JPG export from Lightroom in default settings (minus lens correction).I am running : Adobe Lightroom Classic14.3.1 Release Camera Raw 17.3.1Build [202505061331-b063faef]
