Lightroom Classic

I’m coming back to the Adobe Photography Program after a couple of years using Capture One. As I recall, there were some minor differences between the Panorama options between LrC and Lr (Spherical, Cylindrical and Perspective).  Namely Perspective didn’t always work well on Lr.  True? I’m trying to decide which version of Lightroom to go with.

Hello Adobe Communitity, I am unable to open the Lightroom classic app since last update, it crashes at start up when opening my current collection. Starting fresh with a new collection is oK. Any suggestion? thanks

Hi, a bit new to LRC though having used Photoshop since v. 3.0, I find LRC astonishly cumbersome for making lens corrections universally. So, I wanted to have my camera-lens system settings to work automatically with every new Nikon NEF file moved to an appropriate folder. Sure, there was no straightforward solution. By one approach, I only found a way to make the settings to the photo on the screen. Therefore, I needed to make a search in Internet, and I found that there are _a way to many steps_ that I would like to use LRC for anything else than sorting my project's 700 pictures. How come can LR be so important photo app, as it is like MS's PowerPoint some 30 yrs ago??? In that program, there was no intuition at all to make it work. You just needed to remember all its steps by heart. LRC is similar. Regards, Tuomas

Hi, Last week an adobe tech was trying to fix an unrelated problem and uninstalled and reinstalled LRC. I fixed the problem however in reinstalling LRC I see that all of my external programs: Photoshop, NiK, Evoto, Topaz etc are not listed under Edit in. How can I reinstall them in my LRC.   Thanks [removed by moderator]

Hi,I have a client experiencing lag while scrolling. On my Mac Mini M1, using LrC 14.2 under Sequoia 15.3.2, I import NEF files from my Nikon's memory card via a card reader attached to a USB port on my Mac. I have LrC put them into a folder named with the photo's creation date ("YYYY-MM-DD" format) within my year folder ("YYYY" format) within my Lightroom Photos folder on an external drive. After copying them to that newly created folder, Lightroom converts the original NEFs to DNGs, discarding the NEFs. My first editing step in Library is to rename that new folder, adding descriptive info to the date starting the filename. I then do my edits in Develop on what seem to be normal, high resolution files, then return to Library, and select some photos to save as JPGs for online posting. On giving the command to export the JPGs, Lightroom gives a message to the effect that it cannot locate original files, asking whether I still wish to proceed with Smart Previews if available. Ich möchte Lightroom 6.0 auf meinem Windows 10 PC nach erneut installieren. Die Installationsdatei sowie den Registierungscode habe ich noch, bzw. Lightroom 6 in meinem Adobe-Konto ist das auch registriert. Auf dem selben System war es bereits installiert. Bei der Installation erscheint nun jedoch die folgende Meldung:"Browser aktualisieren Um Adobe-Dienste nutzen zu können, aktualisieren Sie bitte Ihre Adobe-Anwendungen, Ihr Betriebssystem und Ihren Browser auf die jeweils neuesten Versionen" Es ist jedoch alles aktuell. Von Adobe gibt es auch eine Seite zu dieser Fehlermeldung; die Ratschläge dort habe ich ohne Erfolg umgesetzt. Ich habe es dann Testweise auch meinem Windows 11-PC probiert, bei dem ein ganz aktuelles System aufgesetzt ist. Auch dort erhalt ich die Fehlermeldung. Woran kann das liegen bzw. wie kann ich den Fehler beheben?

if I don't have the latest app, does it mean that I can't retrieve my previous photos from Lr?

Hello everyone.I am shooting for years now Tehered with Lightroom. As my knowledge grows i am wondering how to manipulate previous during tethered capture. If i import from a hard drive or a sd card or anything else, i can choose during import what kind of previous Lightroom i want to build.But during Tethered Capture?  Neither i do not know what kind Lightroom builds, nor if i can choose what kind to build during tethering!I searched a lot but i do not find an answer. Thank you.

He intentado fusionar los catalogos "lrcat"que se han creado, seguramente porque me di de baja y días después volví a suscribirme en Lr Classic, y han desaparecido todas carpetas con sus fechas y en su lugar ahora tengo en el panel Catalogo, "Todas las fotog...", "Todas sincronizadas" y "Import. anterior" y en el panel de Carpetas, una por cada dispsositivo, Mac, iPad, Iphone e imporatadas desde el discoexterno.Si intento editar alguna foto desde "Todas las imágenes", aparece "Archivo no encontrado"Qué debería hacer para volver al catálogo por fechas como tenía?. In LRC, after exporting using a collection export plugin, all my original files are gone.even the original EOS5d100 folder(Jeffrey’s “Collection Publisher” Lightroom Plugin) luckylly I  have the exported jpg.but there are a full day of work missing. now I can¡t find them even with a data recovery soft.I'm freaking out here.  Do you know if there are a lightroom log to see when they got deleted?

Not much using Lightroom Classic, as I find Photoshop better for me. So, now I have some 700 pictures which I would like to arrange in subcollections under the main collection in LRC; Bridge isn't very good for that. At the beginning, when I created the the original main collection to be able to move pictures freely in and between collections, I was able to create subcollections and to change their position in the collection, so I remember... However, now that doesn't appear possible any more: When I try to change the position of a subcollection among other subcollection there appears some vague gray color with the subcollection, I guess, intending its movement. However, I'm not able to reposition the subcollection! It just jumps back to its original position! This is just that what I rmember from Lightroom From The Past. Ausgangslage: Nutze LRC von Adobe als Abo. Habe einen Track als gpx-File in Register Karte hochgeladen. Erhalte die Meldung: Verbindung zum Adobe-Server kann nicht hergestellt werden. I was in Antarctica & a glacier started to calve.   I swung my camera around and captured a burst of photos.   However, I was moving the camera between images, and I didn't have time to zoom in.   Now, I'm in lightroom classic & I'd like to align the photos.   In this case, there are fixed features, like the mountain tops, certain cracks in the glacier that are constant, and then there's a portion of the glacier that is moving between photos.    I'd like to align the photos so that the mountains and crevasses look steady as I sequence from one photo to the next, watching the ice collapse into the water.   Is there a way to align the images in a burst of photos?

Hi! Not using much Lightroom, mostly with PS, I'm surprised that when I make collections for arranging photos in their (sub)collections, I lose the position in the original/starting collection, that is, when I'm at the number 100 in the starting collection, and I get back after visiting a (sub)collection, I'm somewhere else in the starting collection, let's say at a photo 10. Very frustrating. Scrolling and trying to remember where I was, among some 1k photos. In other words, the collections do not appear to keep their views but they jump somewhere with no sense. Why do I keep getting a LR message that tells me that LR does not have access to all the folders that it needs? As I said, system settings seem to give it access to ALL folders. 

Im using LRC 14.2 on. Mac Mini, runnign Sequoia 15.3.2. How do I load new presets?

Hi!When I try to export a Heic file, this message appears: HEIC files are only supported with an active subscription (1)  IMG_1236.HEIC (heic_unsupported_platform) what that means?? I have my suscription to LR I dont undestand what happen.... What I should do.? I can edit the photo but I cant export it.

I've noticed in the Lightroom develop module that the image is blurry, but when I am in the library module, zoom in, click fill screen, or turn off GPU acceleration this does not happen. I have a 2021 16" MacBook Pro with an M1 pro chip and am using the latest version of macOS, Lightroom, and MacOS. I've done some research about this and apparently, it just happens with certain GPU's so I wanted to post this to file a bug report. If anyone has a fix that would be amazing. I also attached a screenshot of my system info.

Hello, the keywords panel is very very long in my case. Can i sort the keywords panel so that all keywords in use on selected pics or folders appear on top - not strictly alphabetical, but sorted by usage ? (I have the newest LR Classic on Windows.) I understand that i could remove folders and then delete unused keywords from the list. But i don't want to remove folders - i just want the "Keywords" panel to focus on those keywords that are within the files currently selected or displayed, not equally showing keywords for files not under consideration at the moment. I also understand that i could delete or add keywords in the "Keywording"-panel, but that is sometimes tricky especially when deleting a keyword that has accidentally been used on 200 of 300 files. (I know how to do that, but i don't like the procedure.) So i want to sort the "Keywords" panel by keywords in use - can do? Thanks!

Hi, As noise is more likely to appear in dark areas, I was wondering if many people brighten their photo before doing NR so they can fully see whether they are eliminating the noise, OR if you cannot see it clearly i.e. the noise hides in the shadows, you don't worry about it. I guess this question can be related to what order do you do your editing in?, as if you do NR after exposure + highlights etc. then you may see more or less noise in the photo depending on if it got brightened or darkened. thanks

Scenario: Away from home I take a load of holiday photos and upload them onto my Adobe Cloud account. I edit them in LR Mobile on my iPad. Back home I synch my LrC (Classic) and I see all my images in LrC. The images all have the correct GPS data and time log (both taken from 5DMkIV).  All good so far. But I know that there are additional images on my camera CF card that I didn't import or deleted from the Cloud, so, back home, I then import from the CF card to LrC ensuring that "new images" only is checked.Problem: LrC imports ALL images adding a "-2" to the file name. So why are the same images not recognised as the same file?  Is it because the the time and GPS are slightly different? And why are they different? The difference is miniscule: 16° 45'38.004" W on CF card and 16° 45'38.0052" W on Cloud version - so not even a rounding error. TIme is 07:41:25.30 on CF card and 07:41:25 on Cloud version.I don't care about any GPS or time error as it's is too small to w
