I updated LRC today from v15.3.1 to v15.4. Upon loading, it said my catalog was outdated and needed to be upgraded for this version. Afterward I opened the program, and while the edits still seem applied to the photos, each photo’s edits have been wiped from the History panel. I rolled back to v 15.3.1 and went to import the backup it made before upgrading (from the Old Lightroom Catalogs folder) but the backup zip has no .lrcat file in it. All the previous backup zips have their respective .lrcat files, so it appears Adobe broke both the upgraded catalog as well as the backup. My secondary backup is only recent up to a couple weeks ago so I will have lost a lot of work if I have to roll back to that one. I read in a Reddit thread from 2 years ago that v14 did the same thing to a lot of people, and Adobe quickly released a 14.1 hotfix that apparently fixed it. Hopefully they’ll correct this, just want to register the bug and see if anyone has any other solutions. The backup zip does ap
When searching my library I often use the metadata KEYWORD drop-down. Instead of having to scroll through hundreds of keywords, it would be super helpful to have a text box into which I could type the keyword instead of scrolling. Also, as an added bonus - have the feature begin preloading options from the list as the typing progresses.
All four of the new filters that allow to filter by EXPORT status, STACK status, LIKES and COMMENTS need to be manually toggled off to disable them. None of these allows to select the NO FILTERS option from the drop-down menu to reset them, especially when combined with other filters. When any of these filters is enabled, the drop-down menu only shows choices CUSTOM FILTER (which this is), SAVE CURRENT SETTINGS AS NEW PRESET and RESTORE DEFAULT PRESETS.This is a bug or overlooked necessity. Ever since LRC 15.2 I’m no longer able to create AI masks on any image. It starts to createthe mask then exists the mask creation with out creating the mask. I’m on the latest build of LrC and have updated the drivers for my Nvidia 5020 GPU. I do not get the same behavior on Mobile.
I added masks to about 140 photos yesterday, closed Lightroom Classic and when I reopened LrC, about 50 images had lost their masks; I can’t think of any steps that I had done to delete these masks, and I have .xmp files being created for all of my images, so I don’t understand how I lost the masks.I do have a fairly large (probably around 50,000’ish, could be more) collection of images on my hard drives, and my LrC catalogue is getting quite large (it takes a while to save); I’m not sure if this has affected LrC saving my masks. I’m a reasonably advanced LrC user, and this is the first time that this has happened to me (I’ve been using LrC extensively for about 3-4 years).Any reason why (like user error?) that I could have lost my masks?
The SDK call folder:getParent() raises the error "?:0: attempt to index field 'parent' (a nil value)" when called on the root folder of some catalogs on Windows -- it should return nil instead. To reproduce on LR 15.0.1 / Windows 11 ARM and Windows 11 Intel: 1. Download and uncompress this catalog folder:https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/t1gksh5hw2ov8g48tcca6/folder-getparent-bug.2025-11-20.zip?rlkey=kxqi5d5bx3tqcalrne14fyv2k&dl=0 2. Move the file "folder-getparent-bug.lua" from the catalog folder to the LR Scripts folder. 3. Start LR and open the catalog. 4. In the Scripts menu, invoke "folder-getparent-bug". Observe this output: When tested on Mac OS 15.7.1, no error occurs: Note that on Mac, the call to folder:getParent() returns 0 results rather than nil (though in most contexts, there's no difference).
I only recently discovered the LrC ability to edit filenames during import. However, LrC has no Filename Text Editor in the right pane of the import window. The two panes available are File Handling and Apply During Import.Adobe Help keeps referring to “Restoring Filename Editor in Adobe Learning Manager Desktop Application” but I have never used Adobe Learning Manager! Or “In Adobe Learning Manager, if the filename text editor is missing in the import window, it may be due to missing instructor assignment for the course instance” which makes no sense to me. Ok, I’m a newbie to LrC. Maybe I have missed something, or my search input is misworded but is there a human out there who knows how to solve this dilemma? I really could use this feature in LrC. Thanks.
I just updated to Lightroom Classic 14.0.1. All develop history on edited photos is missing. Is there a way to get the history back?
Well maybe high end is not the best word because its RTX 5060 but still this is not normal. So it goes like this. I open lightroom, i click on masks and detect people, detect sky etc, almost anything that requires AI. It completes normally but then after I switch to another image in develop preview and start using sliders or zooming in photo my whole pc starts to stutter so bad that only solution is to close lightroom and reopen it. If i have music in background it starts crackling, my mouse cursor starts to freeze and stutter, just unusable. AI things that trigger the problem:Masking but smart features like detect people, objects, sky etc. Super Resolution Lens BlurAI things that don’t trigger it:Remove tool DenoiseThings I noticed when problem starts:GPU memory fills to max, Lightroom system info reporting GPU memory is at 120% (is that normal ?)GPU usage jumping to 100% when zooming photo causing stutter to PCGPU memory doesnt go back it stays at max all the time even when AI job is
There is a recurring issue where the Loupe view displays an entirely incorrect image immediately following a folder import. Specifically, if a user enters the Loupe view before the initial preview fetching is complete, the view will load a cached image from a previous session - even if that image belongs to a folder that has already been removed from the catalog. While toggling between images can sometimes force the view to refresh, the incorrect preview sometimes gets “stuck”. This allows the user to browse the gallery in Loupe view and randomly see photos from long-gone folders, despite the thumbnails in the filmstrip displaying correctly. Steps to ReproducePrepare two folders containing a large number of high-resolution photos (to ensure preview generation takes a noticeable amount of time). Import the first folder into Lightroom Classic. Select any photo and press Spacebar to open it in Loupe view. Press G to return to the Grid view. Remove the first folder and its images from the L
Background: I was in the middle of restoring a Lightroom Classic catalog after a drive recovery. During the process, two folders got merged, let’s call them “June” and “July”. Both folders exist correctly on my external drive.Current situation in Lightroom Classic 13.3:Only the June folder appears in the Folders panel It shows 1212 photos total — approximately 300 June images and 900 July images All images appear normal (no question marks or error badges), but they do have a white square that says Smart Preview. All images have edits I need to preserve When I click "Show in Explorer" on a July image, it correctly shows the file in the July folder on disk But the metadata panel shows the June folder as the location When I try to drag July images to a different folder in LR, it says "All files selected are missing. No files can be moved."What I've already tried:Adding the July folder via Add Folder — resulted in 900 duplicate catalog entries, so I deleted the folderWhat I need:A safe w
Running on Macbook M5 Pro 2026. MacOS 26.5.1.Fonts, including the application menu on 4K external display are not rendered correctly. They look like they are being smoothed for a retina display. Built-in display on the macbook looks fine.In the screenshot below, the width of the vertical lines vary depending on position.
after recent edited files they are getting lost and files cannot be found even though original file exists in LR classic
When in Libary, move to a day with has a DJI Mavic 4 still photo .dng (114MB) the application becomes unresponsive showing the spinning colorwheel. When Importing from the DJI media, it also imported the .jpg file. The apps needs to be Force Quit.Loading a .dng file takes very long (~15 sec) and then after another ~15 sec it becomes unresponsive.Easiest to see experience with a second monitor, but also happens in Library single photo. The import also contained .mp4 files. I wanted to follow up on this topic as it's been radio silence on it for nearly 8 months since AI DeNoise was launched. In the meantime we've not only had multiple updates by Apple to Ventura, we've also had the release of MacOS Sonoma which is rapidly approaching the release of version 14.2. While I have pretty much left Topaz behind with the release of Adobe's DeNoise and my dissatisfaction with earlier releases of PhotoAI, I just checked it again and with their model updates its now back to being the equal of Adobe's Denoise, but it's a lot faster--it takes less than half the time to process a file on my M2 Ultra with Topaz as it does with Adobe DeNoise. They are using the Apple Neural Engine, regardless of any bugs--and this is confirmed as I can monitor the power draw of the neural engines in the console as I process images. DxO is also using the neural engines. Clearly there are ways to work around the bugs, or these companies have already taken adv
I’m getting the “AI Edits Storage Error” in Lightroom Classic, and I’ve already followed all the steps listed on Adobe’s help page, but the issue is still happening. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Confirmed there is enough free disk space Restarted Lightroom and my Mac Ensured only one instance of Lightroom is open Gave Lightroom Classic Full Disk Access and Files & Folders permissions in macOS Verified my user account has Read & Write permissions Checked that the catalog and .lrcat-data folder are accessible Not using any cleanup tools or cloud sync on the catalog while Lightroom is open Despite all this, the error continues to appear and AI edits fail to save properly.
Lightroom Classic 15.3.1 on macOS Tahoe 26.4.1, Apple M4 Max, hangs with “Not Responding” during Loupe view / quit / preview build. Full Disk Access is enabled. Fresh install and fresh catalogue tested. macOS hang report shows: “Deadlocked: 1 thread - Thread 0x2be29 AgServer” and “Blocked by Deadlock: 7 threads - AgServer”.full hang report here
It will not let me open lightroom classic. It pops up as repair and the process stops, and wont move. I’m paying for something i can’t use.
Comment faire?Merci
in a RAW landscape photo, when I want to emphasize distance I should be able to use the Depth Range mask. I should be able to access it via the Range Masks. where one can find Luminance Mask, color mask and Depth Range. Depth Range is greyed out and not available. Using Shift D yields no response. why can it not be used? Isn't it available to LRc version 15.3.1?
Is it possible to import my PSE26 catalog to Lightroom Classic? It seems looking at the list only up to 2021 might be supported. Lightroom Classic 15.3.1 Photoshop Elements 2026 Organizer PSE26DB catalogIf it isn’t, is it likely to be added or do I need to make a decision about whether I can be bothered to start over with 50000 photos which have been tagged, faces added, albums created, dates and places all checked?
This error message appears when I try to open LRC. The version I have is 15.3.1. I have exited LRC on my other laptop. I’ve also tried to uninstall LRC but it isn’t doing so. Any suggestions, please?
