I am using Lightroom Classic 13.4 Camera RAW 16.4. I am using Windows 11 Pro. On a computer I have been using for months, without any changes on my end, my RAW fies are completely disapearing when I import the files. Why are they being removed? I did searches on my hard drive for the photo numbers but they do not exist in RAW form. I am now forced to create 2 folders of RAW files on my hard drive because I know the ones I import to Lightroom will be deleted. I spent hours going through every check box I can find but i do not see anything related to this.
I recently experimente with B/W photography. Thus I have set the camera to produce B/W previews with high contrast and clarity. After the import, I noticed that the contrast slider is way higher than it usually is. I have a preset applied, but it does not change the development settings, only camera corrections and default sharpening and denoising. Investigating a bit more, I found that Lightroom does often change the contrast slider to some value by its choice, also without the B/W setting in camera. So, the question is: When would Lightroom set a contrast value? Is that part of the default Adobe profile or what?
Lightroom Classic on Mac Workbook.I am reorganising Lightroom for a friend (newby on Lr) that has been strugling with Lr the 'trial and error'-way. God knows what switched he has set. After importing images (+ add to catalog) the images do not show in the screen of the import location, even the count of images remains zero. First after restarting Lightroom they appear as expexted same as the counter. After deleting the images (from disk) through Lr the usual way, the thumbnails remain on screen but are GREY. Also the counter remains in the old count. After restarting Lr the results on screen are as expected. Is there a setting wich might be missed or wrongly set?Regards,GeertHolland
After a long hiatus, went to process a recent family photo shoot using LR6.14 (perpetual). Surprise - it's no longer perpetual - it now doesn't work. Seems that Adobe has taken the older license servers offline. Decided to try the photography subscription offerring. Signed up, downloaded LR Classic 13.4, opened and it offerred to migrate my LR6.14 catalog to the new format. Checked the box to verify the catalog integrity - told it to go ahead. It chewed on it for a few dozen seconds then an error popped up indicating that the catalog cannot be migrated. Tried it several times using older verified backups of the LR6.14 catalog - no joy. Kind of surprised - in the past I've migrated from LR3 to LR4 to LR5 and then to LR6 with no problems. Is there any kind of log file produced somewhere that I can look at to ascertain what it might not be happy about ? Has anybody else experienced this SNAFU ? Any suggestions ? Hi, Lightroom has probably shot my/its catalogue. When I just wanted to save the editing of a photo in the DNG (ctrl-s), I realised that the preview image had been recreated - and shows the original image without my edits! What a horror and what a horror programme! In between: what does this mean and what is the full text in this column (‘invalid ...’)? thanksmycc
I'm running Lightroom Classic 13.4 with Camera RAW 16.4 - on a MacMini operating on MacOS Sonoma 14.5. My camera's are either a Nikon D810 or 850. For the life of me I cannot get Tethered Capture to work. On one occasion Adobe promted me to quit Lightroom 13.4 and re-start on an earlier version - and did that for me automatically - but not since. Every time I launch Lightroom then try to start Tethered Capture it will not see my camera's. What am I doing wrong? If there's an Adobe Lightroom genius out there I need your advice. Thank you Spence [personal info redacted]
Does anyone know a way to bulk stack pairs of photos (raw and edited jpeg) so they can be auto aligned and then blended via opacity change in one? Prefer adobe based platform but don't think it's possible. Was ideally looking at doing this from LR to PS, but honestly don't care how it's done. Pretty simple but only know how to do this for one pair of photos at a time.

I haven't printed for a very long time -- months, or maybe a year. Now I need to and everytime I open the print module it opens, then crashes without loading the image I have selected to print. When I couldn't get it to work in the previous version of Lightroom, I updated to the latest version. That doesn't work either. HELP!!!! The system info is below. I'm printing to a Canon Pixma Pro-10, which prints a test just fine from windows. Lighroom import dialogue detects the cfexpress card reader but cannot see any photos in the main direcotry nor in any subfolders. Import of photos is therefore impossible. However, Adobe Bridge can see the cfexpress card in the reader and see all the sub folders and photos. So can the Finder (I am using Mac). It is possible to import photos by dragging and droppring the thumbnails from Bridge to the Lightroom import dialogue. I cannot understand why Bridge can see the photos but Lightroom cannot because they are both Adobe products. Hope Adobe can resolve this issue. BTW the Import Dailogue works normally with a direct USB connection from camera to the computer (a Mac Mini). Thank you in advance to anyone who has an answer to this issue.
Merci beaucoup.
I am reporting an XMP spec error, not a LrC bug, but I can't find a better area to report the issue. An old thread mentioned LrC had no TZ support / didn't recognise offsets in metadata. However, I have noticed that XMP files are created incorporating a TZ adjustment on the end of 'exif:DateTimeOriginal', like this:exif:DateTimeOriginal="2022-09-11T04:28:49.366-05:00" The TZ adjustment in 'OffsetTime' can also include daylight time adjustments too, so one needs to tread carefully. LrC appears to be doing the correct processing from the tests I have done with a Nikon Z6, Canon G7x Mark ii and a Sony Alpha 7 IV. (see attached file for some comparisons). The XMP Spec says:EXIF tags 36867, 0x9003 (primary) and 37521, 0x9291 (subseconds). Date and time when original image was generated, in ISO 8601 format. Includes the EXIF SubSecTimeOriginal data. Note that Exif date-time values have no time zone information. The spec seems to be incorrect and may need to catch up
Some time ago I posted my issue but am unable to find the post, so here goes again: All of a sudden (I may have updated a graphics card or run Norton anti virus) my windows 11 pc takes 8 minutes to launch Lightroom Classic (v13.4). Can someone please offer a suggest route to fix other than gortmating my drive. I have LR 5.7.1. When I'm in library and going through my pictures, flagging some, I''ve suddenly run into a problem where some of my photos, once you double-click them in the loupe view to get a bigger view, are way out of focus. They don't appear to be out of focus in the loupe view .I've never had this problem before. This is in keeping with my changing to another catalog because for my regular catalog I got the message "LR encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit". (an issue I've dealt with before but will probably need help with again.)Also--for the first time in my use of LR, in the tray I've gotten on a couple of photos an exclmation mark indicating I've made some mistake with a particular photo. Now what does that mean? Thanks,Al Marotta
Okay, I'm at a loss at what's going on and I desperately need some advice.Lightroom Classic seems to have gone crazy. It will not save any of my AI masks (select subject, select sky, etc.) or the generative AI fill. Every time I navigate away from the image with either of these, I got a little triangle alert saying I need to update my settings. If I do this, the AI masks comes back, but as soon as I move to the next image and come back to that photo, the triangle is there again. I was in a time crunch and so I spent time manually exporting individual photos. Suddenly, asking Lightroom to export a photo took 5 minutes. The loading screen to save the export. It also takes an extremely long time to erase rejected photos from Lightroom and to open a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop.Additionally, Lightroom will no longer back up my catalog. It keeps giving me an error to check permissions on my computer. I've restarted my computer, I've restarted lightroom, I've uninstalled and reinst
Hello everyone, when using the "Denoise" function for images, a denoised copy of the file is created by default and the image is stacked. I was not aware of this function at first, but it now increases the memory requirements considerably. I have now disabled the function, but would like to know how I can combine the previously processed images into one image. Is there a way to do this? Many thanks and best regards!
Hola!
Wirlklich toll. Helmut
Hi all, I run Classic on both my laptop and desktop. Both are Mac, same OS, same LR Classic versions. I don't use online or creative cloud storage for several reasons, but the largest being that most of my photos are taken on destination trips, and then I do quite a bit of editing in Classic+Photoshop on plane flights, which seem to be the only time I can disconnect and enjoy editing photos. However, if I don't have that time, the rest end up on desktop for me to edit there. I export my keepers easily enough from the laptop, and sync its entire Lightroom directory structure to NAS when back at home so everything is backed up, but I'd really love to merge those missing dates into the desktop copy. Is there any way to accomplish this, whether via export/import, manual work, etc? I have all the raws, they're foldered by date so I can also easily sync the directories in, but that of course does not bring the changes in that only Lightroom knows about so I
Hi, I have been hit with multiple problems after running Lightroom 6 for over 6 years. they are as follows:1. After having a new motherboard installed, I attempted to open LR 6 and informed me I was on a trial license. Note two days before sending the machine to the shop for a new motherboard LR was working OK. 2. Attempting to reenter my product license number was a nightmare. I dont fully recall the steps as I cant repeat them now because of the problem I note in point (). However, roughly the steps were:a. LR asked me to sign in via a QR code but I used the provided URL and did the following steps on my computer in which LR was open .b. I logged in via the URLc. Provided the security code and this was acceptedd. Went back to LR to complete the login but was asked to login againe. Eventually I got locked out 3. I returned to day to try again but this time when I open LR and when I click the button to sign in on the Sign in dialog box (note at th
As i have noticed this is a issue that dates back over 7 years. I didnt like lightroom and want to cancel my subscription as the trial has ended. But the only way adobe let me do this is to update method and PAY! ridiculous.. I need to pay for a service i wont use. I am going to subscription for Premier pro but if I update my method i will pay an additional 12€~ for Lightroom wich i dont accept. So I wont pay for NOTHING until this is solved.
I am using LrC 13.3 on Mac Ventura 13.6.7, but the same problem was in LrC 13.2. My Sony A6700 HIF (HEIF) vertical/portrait photos in the grid view are not properly rotated. When I open one it is also not properly rotated. They are all displayed in horizontal/landscape orientation until I manually rotate them. I noticed the same improper behavior with LrC 13.2 on my Windows 11 PC, but I do not have it with me at the moment.
