I wish, I could rate my picture using my evaluation-stars and -colors directly during the import process and adding specific meta-tags maybe just to one photo (and not the entire import). For instance: I am shooting all day for 5 different projects - they all mix on one SD-card. Coming back, I have to go thru the import-process 5 times, looking thru all the pictures over and over again to sort out the pictures for these five projects. Why can ́t I do this straightaway during import? Am I over looking something already there in LR?I hope, you can understand my wish.

Hi, I use LR Classic to import photos and sync them to LR Cloud. In LR Cloud i tag, edit, etc so i can share it with other people. But for quite some time now, my LR Classic isnt syncing anymore. The sync process is stuck and there are 20000 photos pending. I've already checked if there any file with sync problems (Preferences/Sync Tab) and there are none. Can anyone help to fix this issue? Lightroom has never been incredible agile but the latest version are horrible to work with. taks that took seconds now are taking minutes and as soon as I start a task in lightroom it freezes my computer. Photoshop or other video applications that consume more resources work fine. Is there any option to live support? all the options for calls is to sell not support
I'm new to the web-based version of LrC (used LR5 years ago) and have just imported my first folder and created a collection to get my LrC legs under me again. I'm not really interested in saving the little bit of work that I did in LR5 (I've been in a photo hobby drought for years due to work demands) so I'm starting with a clean slate, so to speak. I've always held my original file photos on my laptop internal drive which I've backed up (dragged and dropped) onto two external SSDs. It's been a while, but I recall just backing up my catalog to the default internal drive location (I know, risky business, but I'm learning). Reading through quite a number of posts on catalog backup methods, I'm wondering if, after backing up my catalog internally, if it's okay to just back up/replace the entire Lightroom folder (drag and drop) onto the external SSDs, or is that even appropriate. Also, since I'm importing from my internal drive into LrC, if/when it fails, wou
I'm using Version 13.3 of LRC on a PC, Windows 11. I am unable to open any of my saved catalog backups. When I click on the zip file, I get the following error message. I am storing my backup catalogs on my OneDrive so they are also backed up to the cloud. I have set the permisssions on the LRC folder in my Onedrive to full access - read/write/edit. I would greatly appreciate any advice!
Twice now I've had to spend 2 hours relinking one folder at a time because LRC forgot where my phtos are. It's tedious and actually phuysically painful from the perspective of repetitive stress injury. It does not seem complex that once we've pointed LRC to the root folder that ALL the folders and photos are in it should be able to read the names of the folders and files and relink them automatically. In my opinion, having to do this manually is a nightmare and the very worse thing about using LRC. FIxing this would be a major upgrade and I would think be a priority becuase it's an issue of foundational functionality (as oppsed to having AI stick a bird in a photo for example). Im not a programmer so I don't know.....but this seems straight forward...... Thanks for listening. Comments?
PROBLEM One very common issue users of LrC have are missing files and folders. Well over 70% of my LrC Help clients come to me with some version of this problem. The existing "Find Missing" tools in LrC work as designed, and many times re-linking one photo winds up re-linking hundreds of other nearby images at the same time. However in many cases, depending on exactly how the images became missing, one winds up having to manually re-link images one at a time which can be an impossible task if there are hundreds or thousands of such images (a client yesterday had over 11,000). SUGGESTIED IDEA In the Import Dialog, add a new checkbox below the "Don't import suspected duplicates" box called "Relink Missing Photos". If this box is checked and there is also a version of the photo in the catalog marked as missing, rather than importing the image and creating a new catalog entry for it, re-link the existing (missing) photo to the locati
LR Classic doesn't show properly synchonized files in folder structure for Mobile Downloads. Files are there. Steps to reproduce: Add photos in Lightroom mobile (Android tablet or iPhone); Add them to a Collection (create new album if needed). Open LR Classic on Windows Desktop. Observe LR correctly syncing the Collection and downloading the files in sub-folder structure in the "Mobile Downloads.lrdata"; You can navigate to folder location from the Collection; You can see count next to the folder name; In Collections you will see the image: From the photo in the folder select "Go to folder in Library"; You will see an empty folder (but the tree shows content) Files are indeed there (via "Show in Explorer"): Expected: Photos are properly listed in the view. Note: You can also "Synchronize folder" and "Show missing photos" and get to the list of files in the folder. They are not missing; You can move/copy/edit them from the list. [mo
Can I install an older version of Lightroom Classic to work with Catalina ?
Hi,I have had to reinstall windows and all apps after a significant hardware failure.I have had LRC and LRMogrify for several years and never had this problem before.I am trying to export 2 files from LRC 13.4 with LR Mogrify text anotations:CC25-07-24 (15).ARWCC25-07-24 (12).jpgExport as TIF or JPG there are no issues, export as PNG the following error occurs. The export settings are identical for each other than a change of extension. The export post-processing filter failed to render the file. Please bring back the "Import to subfolder" in the import dialog. Before this was removed, the default import folder was the previous one (e g "2024/08") and I could choose to put the new files in subfolder "03", and everything landed nicely in folder "2024/08/03". That's one click and three keyboard presses. Now the default value is my last import folder (e g "2024/08/02") and I have to click "Other destanation", get thrown out into Windows Explorer, go back up one level, press "New folder" and create the new folder. That's just extra steps. Please bring back the previous workflow.
Running Lightroom on an Mac. My Mac was running out of storage space I needed to move entire Picture Folder to an external hard drive. How do I reconfigure Lightroom so it knows to look at the external drive when using Lightroom so it is not looking at the internal IMac hard drive? Light room files etc were in Pictures folder. Any steps on how to do this would be appreciated.

Keep in mind, that this trashing of the OS-Drive DOES NOT happen prior to some arbitrary number of photos (another community member tested with 35 photos). I haven't pinpointed exactly after how many photos the app starts to misbehave, but it is probably around 100-150+ photos. C s
Hello, I performed the Lightroom CC Classic upgrade, and when it asked to upgrade the catalog, of course I clicked yes. Now the program opens, and there are zero photos in the catalog. I can navigate to only two ircat files now, and they are both brand new files with zero images. My original catalogs are gone! ???? Please help!
The command "Edit in Photoshop" doesn't work with the new update or when reverting to a previous version. When I run that option, all it does is switch the window to Photoshop, and then nothing happens; it just stays there. Photoshop isn't frozen, and neither is Lightroom; nothing happens. Since updating to this version, I've encountered error after error. I have more issues, but the post would be too long. Im running windows 10 with a fairly powerful system. I recently had to create a new catalogue but new images won't sync with Lightroom mobile app. I can see that it is trying to sync but nothing happens. When I first started using Lightroom Classic the images from the original catalogue synced with the Lightroom mobile app without much problem. Now I'm not sure that I have the right location for the new catalogue specified. It shows Lightroom Catalog New Helper.Irdata. Is this the correct file to sync from? See screen shots attached.Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It open the photo straight to PS. After I did some correctionon to the photo, I clicked save and it appered a pop menu to ask me where I want to save it. In the past It never appeaired before that and one I clicked save the copy with the adjustment was directely visible on LC. I do have the app updates and I work on a MAC-PRO 2023. How can I fix this? Thank you so much,Fede

Hello,Using Lightroom Classic V.13.4 (Windows10 last version) i imported a set of pictures into LR and made some operations on them but not all (sort - add sequence - GPS matches etc ...). Nb : Some operations (like metadatas) update directly original files. When i compare the weight of the directory before import and after export, the exported directory was much greater than the original (ie. 7. 63 GB versus 6.28GB originally). This may be logical. But then i investigated on one picture that was originally geolocalised and i discovered that - original picture is 2.7MB with horizontal resolution 72 PPP and vertical resolution 72 PPP- exported picture is 4.35MB with horizontal resolution 240 PPP and vertical resolution 240 PPPIs that normal ? Would that means that the exported picture is better than the original ? May be i did something wrong ?Any feedback will be appreciated (sorry for my poor english)Best regards
Hi, I use an Imac Sonoma 14.5 and when using Lightroom Classic the below message comes up : When investigating I find the folder "pictures" within "users" that contains all the backups. Normally I ignore the message, but now I notice the picturequality of the website I was exporting was inadequate. Also yesterday when I imported a new folder, no pictures were imported, just a set of plain colours. obviously something is very wrong.
