Lightroom Classic

Hi!I saw a lot of videos and tutorials about transfering RAW-photos to a ipad pro. but i really would like to not transfer it:)Heres my problem:- I want to have the possibility to edit photos in lightroom mobile while traveling.- ideal would be one databank (external ssd) for all photos. i have the Toshiba Canvio AeroMobile or RAVPower FileHub in mind. these two have batterylife & sd-slots & wifi!- it would be perfect if i could store all my photos on one of these and than edit the photos with a tablet directly on the fly, without coping them onto the tablet.i see the problem in the apps the external ssd needs to backup the files from the sd-cards. i don't know, if there is a way to browse the files just like in explorer/finder. but that would be great!Is this even possible?i really need a YES before i buy a new tablet plus external ssd thanks in advance for any tip!

I've tethered my Canon 6d to Lightroom (13.2) and everything is connecting just fine but when I shoot the image only saves to my camera SD card but doesn't appear on my computer or Lightroom at all. Live view works and I can change the settings of my camera through tethering, I can't see any final images in my lightroom. What I've done to try to fix it  -Resetting my preferences and relaunching lightroom, didn't work.-Checked if using EOS Utilities would save my images onto both laptop and sd card, it does. -downloaded Lightroom v.13.0 and tried tethering, didn't work. -I initially thought it was because I uploaded the catalogue to the cloud as a backup affected the tethering but I don't think so.  Does anyone using Canon have any problems with their Lightroom tethering?

I'm not the creator, but have an InDesign file and Links.Some of the Links are behaving oddly.If I look in Bridge at .jpg file it shows the Camera Raw Edit Sliders icon top left.If I try to open the .jpg file in Photoshop it always Opens in Camera RAW. I can't see any ACR edits at my end. I'm told that this file was EPSON scan to TIFF then edits in Lightroom circa2016, then a jpg produced.The TIFF no longer exists, and I don't know if there were XMP sidecar files. Does anyone have aqny idea why would .jpg file only open in Camera Raw and not PhotoshopIs there something I could look at in Bridge info?

If I'm reading this Adobe Help page correctly, when I want to restrict an image search to look just at the file path, I should be able to select File Path as one of the options under Any Searchable Field in a text search. No such luck on my Any Searchable Field menu:What am I missing? Do I need to add a plug in to add the option?BTW, I'm on Mac OS 14.4.1 and LRC 13.2Thanks much!Gary   

When I go to import files from an external hard drive, just on one of them when I click the arrow to get to sub folders, it shows none. When I click on include sub folders, I get lots of font images and Adobe stock images etc but not my folders. On every other hard drive attached to the computer, I don't have this problem. Any ideas?

Hi. I'm trying to set my import location to an original save location on my c drive named 2024 after for some reason my one drive started to be the import location and created its own 2024 folder. When I select the c drive 2024 folder when importing it wants to create its own 2024 folder within the original 2024 and in that the dated import. I just can't see how l can import wothout the sub folder being created. Any ideas?

When in Develop, I make adjustments to an image. When I go to the next image, I want to copy/paste settings using the "Previous" buttton without cropping. Ie when using the "Previous" button, I want a way to tell LR not to apply the crop settings from the previous image on to the next (current)  image.Thanks

I've got a photoshoot of new images imported into lightroom classic, I have also sent those same images to a cloud based AI solutions provider who's system generates tags (keywords) and star ratings for them, that system returns a data file that references the image file name and adds columns for the the keywords and star ratings. I'm hoping someone can point me to a lightroom plugin that I can use to import that data into my lightroom catalog.

I have edited a number of images in LR Classic on my laptop and saved them to an external HD. I now want to transfer these edited files to my desktop and have LR recognize them as edited. I have tried IMPORTING them via LR from the external HD,  but what I get are the unedited files. And I've tried COPYING the files from the external HD to my desktop with a file manager and then Importing them with LR, but LR doesn't "see" them via IMPORT, and Synchronize doesn't see them either. Your suggestions are appreciated.

I am unable to preview presets in hover/rollover on my main monitor in develop mode.  I have to click the preset to see what it does.  It used to work, now it doesn't.   Is there some setting that disables it?  Why would it stop working? I'm running lightroom classic 13.2 on a Studio Mac M1 Max.  Garphics Processor is on Auto.   [Moved to its own thread by moderator because of a clearly different subject]  

Hi the radial filter is not working correctly. The circle does not appear but it does seem to be applying some changes but I cant control the circle and it appears more of a tiny oval of change that cant be moved. I have tried to turning the GPU off to no avail. Also my spot removal tool really glitchy. I have recently had a new PC but never had these problems before with my old laptop. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I import images sometimes that I've scanned, and they're already in my macbook pro. But the import function in LRC always wants a destination. When I send the imports to the same folder, it makes duplicates, which can lead to some organizational issues. Any ideas?

Although the HEVC video will preview in the lates LR, the videos are all washed out. Only VLC medea player will show it correctly.This is an Windows 11 (vers. 22631.3593) 

Having upgraded to LR Classic 13, I have been having no end of issues with LR taking ages to write XMP updates.  This usually manifests itself when I go to quit LR, with one of two different messages that LR is still writing changes to XMP, I then have to leave LR running for another 5 minutes or so while it finishes.. However.....just checking on disk activity, I can see LR Classic is updating over 4900 images and I havent even started any edits in this session, what in earth is going on?LR writing to XMP is slow at the best of times, but to start writing that volume of changes for no apparent reason is just ridiculous.Any ideas how to solve/speed this up?

Typically I will import my photos in lightroom, then do my retouching in photoshop, and then apply my colour grading in lightroom. However sometimes I like like to apply a preset first, is there way to edit the original photo in photoshop instead of editing the photo with the preset applied?  The only way I know is to create a virtual copy, revert any changes and edit that, there must be a better way. 

Dear Brains,When trying to synchronise my folders in Lightroom I am told that 16,000 need to be imported and yet when I try and do this none appear. I understand extra large files can cause issues but there are maybe only about 30 that are too big for LR. My images are stored on an external disk array - Pegasus R8 ie 8 drives with a total of 32tb storage. I have around 500,000 images but recently the Pegasus was rapidly filling up.  I had these catalogued as 10 sub folders (1A - 10A) each with individual sub categories eg Landscapes. As I only had a few Tb left I took all the video files on Folder 10A and over a period of days have been moving them to another series of disks in a Drobo enclosure, using either drag and drop (I know) or moving within Lightroom. Either way it thas taken an days. If I now try and sync either my entire Folder or one of the individually numbered folders (1A - 9A) it will tell me anything from 100 - 16000 images need imported. Until today, Lightroom backups were working fine.I had some photos (2022 onwards) on my ext. drive. The rest were on my main PC drive.I moved the 2019-2021 photos from the PC to the ext. drive.They are all in the catalog as usual. However, since then, backup has no longer worked. I get the following error.Lightroom was unable to back up the catalogue named "Lightroom Catalog-v12".Please check your folder permissions, and make sure you have available space on your backup drive and main catalogue's drive.I get the options to Try Again, Choose a Different Backup Folder, and Exit. Try again doesn't do anything. It returns the same error.Choosing a different backup doesn't solve it. I have tried renaming the backup folders, changing the storage location, reducing the file path name length, and more. No luck.How can I get the backup working again? 

I edited my photo in LRC and then performed denoise at about 70%.  Photo looks good while still on my macbookpro.  But when added to a collection that syncs with iPad pro, the photo resolution is pretty bad.  What am I doing wrong?  

Iphotos can delete from camera after improting. What would be amazing would be for LR to delete ONLY those that Ive deleted from LR. Is there a way to do this? I shot Birds at 20FPS and it just consumes a lot of memory. its teious to go back in and delte them ne at a time. THanks!

Whenever I attempt to create a mask, such as the brush, I'll use the brush and outline the masking area, but it will then reset back to the 'add new mask' menu. Using the people funtion will crash the app entirely. Yesterday I updated my Lightroom classic both catalogue and program. Now the masking function does not work. When I do a mask and then choose an option to affect the image my option affects the whole image. If I want to use a mask I have to open the image in photoshop and Camera Raw. Very irritating. I work on a Mac Book Pro Ventura 13.0.1.Many thanks for a quick reply how to solve this issue.

Heeeere we go again. Lightroom is running slow. Even opening preferences takes a min.
