I am running a Windows 10 PC with a 2TB SDD, with 400GB+ of free space on it. I had a problem with my catalog a week ago, and Sameer K helped me get the catalog open, resetting my preferences. Since then, however, Lightroom is exceedingly slow. When I open an image from the filmstrip using loupe view, it can take up to 15 seconds to open it. The problem is worse tryimg to enlarge to a 100% view; the average time takes between 18-26 seconds. Both these issues are new; it used to take just a few seconds to open and enlarge images when I was using my previous catalog. I have cleared my cache, but both problems existed before I did this, and still exist afterwards. I have my cache set to 20GB. Can anyone suggest any remedies to speed up the program? Paul Lebras
Working on MacOS Tahoe 26.1 My Lightroom keeps crashing when I'm working on some of my catalogs (usually larger ones). This started about a month ago with the Tahoe update. It only affected 1 catalog in the beginning, and now another one of my catalogs is crashing continuously. Lightroom is updated (uninstalled and reinstalled). I reset preferences and tested the integrity of the catalog. Turned off "hover previews". De-selected "Use Graphics Processor". I have no idea what else to try, please help!

Lightroom Classic’s Face Recognition currently attempts to detect all faces in an image, including very small, blurred, distant, or partially visible faces. In photos with many people, this leads to slower processing, unnecessary detections, and extra manual cleanup—especially in large archives. I propose adding user-controlled accuracy levels for face recognition, such as: An accuracy/clarity slider to set a minimum face quality threshold Options to detect: Only clear and prominent faces Moderately clear faces Full detection (current behavior) Automatic exclusion of low-quality faces based on the selected level Benefits: Faster processing in large archives Fewer false or low-value detections Better accuracy and user control More efficient workflows for institutional, journalistic, and humanitarian users This enhancement would make Face Recognition more scalable and practical for professional, high-volume archives.
Hello,as you can see in the screen shots every since an update teh color in the color grading wheels is broken. I already tried removing and reinstalling the software twice. No change. The issue does not occur in the cloud based lightroom.Any idea what the issue could be? [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules.]
Using the following LrC 15.1 and PS 27.2 on macOS 15.4.1, "Edit PS" no longer works. This is very frustrating and unacceptable. It should work day in, day out. What do I do to solve this?
It's been a while, and i posted a couple of times, but unfortunatly no group expert replied or helped to figure out the issue. Please advise what i can do. This was such an expected feature, and now it's totally useless for me. Before and after are attached. Mac OS- 15.6.1LrC- 15.1Camera Raw- 18.1.1
When applying tasks to a larger collection of images this might take a considerable amount of time and CPU capacity. In the meanwhile I can instruct LR to do some other taskes. This might impose a very high stress on CPU. Therefore I would like to know if one task has finished before I start another task. For instance.: I like to start with applying all my images with auto AI settings as a starting point and to do a denoise for all images with higher iso values. Both of them are CPU consuming tasks if there are a lot of images. I would like to know if one task has finished before starting the other. I would like to be able to see a task queue and the state (percentage) of the task.
A big userbase for Lightsroom (and Photoshop) are the vast community of photograpers associated to FIAP (La Fédération Internationale de l'Art Photographique) or PSA (Photografic Society of America). In a newly issued breif, FIAP and PSA have stated what use of AI support allowed when particapating in photocompetitions around the word associated to theese two associations. THis means that all theese users need to know in detail what use of LR (and PS) can discualify them in competitions.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vnvyl0jFJW8JP_tvKpFNGiESLLd5REsq/view Prohibited are the use of:"any AI-assisted processes for synthetic imagegeneration that incorporate external image data, visual elements, textures, objects, orscenes not originally present in the authors photograph are prohibited." It is intuitive that functionality like "generative fill", and other functions named "generative..:" will be covered with this, but what about AI-based "Adaptive presets".&nbs
I am reporting a persistent crash in Lightroom Classic 15.1 on Apple Silicon (Mac Studio M1 Max). The application crashes immediately when using AI Masking (Subject/People) or the Brush tool. Troubleshooting attempted: Reset Preferences: Fixed it for 1 day, then crash returned. GPU Acceleration set to OFF: CRASH PERSISTS. This confirms it is NOT a GPU/Metal driver issue. I have analyzed the Crash Report. The crash occurs specifically in the CameraRaw framework (Thread 75), throwing a Segmentation Fault (SIGSEGV) due to an invalid memory write attempt. This indicates a bug in how the Camera Raw engine handles memory/buffer allocation for masking on ARM64 architecture in this specific release. Here is the relevant Stack Trace from the Crash Report: Process: Adobe Lightroom Classic [16777] Identifier: com.adobe.LightroomClassicCC7 Version: 15.1 (15.1) Code Type: ARM-64 (Native) Hardware Model: Mac13,1 (Mac Studio M1 Max) Exception Type
When I add a caption to a photo in Photoshop, then save back to Lightroom Classic, it saves a grey screen. I have tried 'save as' and get the same result. I don't know what else to try. I am using a. Macbook Pro with Sequoia 15.7.3.
Hi everyone, I have a workflow challenge that I believe affects many users working across multiple locations with different Adobe accounts. My Situation: I work on photos at two different locations: Location A: Using Adobe account A (family member's subscription) Location B: Using my own Adobe account B When I edit photos at Location A, there's no practical way to sync those edits to my Lightroom Classic installation at Location B. What I've Tried: Yes, I know about "Export as Catalog" - but honestly, this is too cumbersome for regular use. I'm looking for something more seamless. What I'd Love to See: A way to sync edit metadata between Lightroom installations without going through the browser-based cloud interface. Something like: Lightweight export/import of develop settings that works across catalogs and accounts A "share edits" feature between linked accounts Or simply: CC cloud sync that works across accounts within the desktop app Why This Matters: Multi-location workflows with
I have a new mac mini and have transferred everything over from my old imac. I downloaded the installer for lightroom and creative cloud. I have dragged my LR5 which transferred over from the old computer to the trash and emptied it. When I double click the installer icon nothing happens - no error message - nothing - it will not start the install. I have also tried restarting my mac mini. What can I do or who can I talk to about this? Is there an Adobr support number I can call - I'm very frustrated and losing days on my free trial version.
I've used Bridge for years, but it seems that with later cameras, like the Nikon Z9 it does not show thumbnails of nor play videos, unless there is some secret I don't know about. I've never liked Lightroom, but I found that it does show theses thumbnails, which would make it much easier to add desired metadata without having to use free programs like Nikon Studio to show or play the video. So I was trying to test how compatible the 2 program in the title. I see that LR shows my entered metadata, and keywords. but I also saw that it had dates for the videos, which bridge lacks. I tried exporting a file with the date and also added a keyword, saving with the same file name and location and checking back to see the file in the same folder in Bridge and nothing new added. Is there someone familiar with both programs who can explain why this is so.
My lightroom classic 15.0.1 catalog is behaving strangely for some time and I cannot solve it. All photos seem to revert to their original (pre-edit) state. In Development History, I see entries after the last edit of the following kind (from bottom to top)From Lr mobileMultiple settingsCamera Raw settings.I synch a few albums but not all. When I return to the history element of my last edit the photo displays correctly (i.e. with my edits), and if I make another change of any kind, the above mentioned entries all disappear. My catalog is >100'000 pictures and it seems to affect all of them - initially I thought only the synched albums but I also see it in non-synched ones.I have tried searching the forums for a solution to this and whilst I found similar errors, no solution yet. All help appreciated.
I cannot publish any more (windows), the error message is not very helpful! Newest version of LR & plugin. [Moved from ‘Bugs’ to ‘Discussions’ by moderator, according to forum rules. You cannot file a bug report for a third party plugin.]
[Mod's note: Changing title and moved to Ideas board] To recreate this issue: Create a new catalog Import multiple images Mark several images as picks Mark several but not all of the picks as 1 or higher stars Activate filtering on "Picks" Change the filter type to "less-than or equal to" My expected behavior from this would be some visual indication that the star filter is active, and for there be a way to have the star filter mode set to "less than or equal to" without it being active. The actual behavior is that the star filter remains active even if none of the stars nor the mode indicator are white. If following the steps above, only the images that are "picks" but have no star rating at all are displayed. This is objectively confusing and creates situations where it is unclear what filters are active at any given time. At best it is inconsistent UI design, as the implied convention is that when a filter element is displayed as white, that i
I didn't call this a bug... but do you think I should? If an image in a folder under Folders in LrC is replaced with an image by the same name, and then Synchronize Folder... is picked, LrC discovers that the metadata has changed and puts the exclamation point on the image. When that is click and the new data pulled in from the disk, the image itself is not updated. LrC knows the file has changed but assumes the image is the same image. To me, that is just silly. The work around is to delete and then re-add the image. I hit this because I'm doing a weird publishing chain up to SmugMug. I want to put a name plate on each image for a particular gallery I have on SmugMug. My current (awkward) process:Publish the images to my Hard Drive (publish -- not export so only the files that change are updated)go to my Terminal app and run a script which creates new images that have been modified (via ImageMagick)Import those images into LrCPublish these

The method photo:addOrRemoveFromTargetCollection() adds or removes all selected photos from the target collection rather than just "photo". To reproduce in LR 15.1 / Mac OS 15.7.1: 1. Save these lines to the file "add-remove-bug.lua" in the Lightroom Scripts folder: local catalog = import "LrApplication".activeCatalog () catalog:getTargetPhoto ():addOrRemoveFromTargetCollection () 2. Restart LR. 3. In Library, select three or more photos. 4. Do Scripts > add-remove-bug. Observe that all selected photos are added to the current target collection (incorrect), rather than just the most-selected photo. If the developers consider the current behavior "as designed" (which would be very weird), then the documentation should be corrected to explain that behavior clearly.
I have a keyword of Animals and for some reason in the drop down list of keywords some other keywords have become sub-items of the Animals keyword. I would like to move the out from under Animals so they are at a higher level and be their own keywords. How can I do this and what do you think may have caused this. I use commas to seperate my keywords when I specify multiple keywords in the input box. Thanks! I am on Windows 11 computer.
On the help page describing Assisted Culling, item 3 headline has an error which confuses readers:https://helpx.adobe.com/il_en/lightroom-classic/help/assisted-culling.html3. On my iMac 27" (2017) it's not possible to update the OS anymore. Therefore, the LTR Classic catalogue, which was recently updated by a brand new MacBook, cannot be opened. The question:is there a way to update the iMac OS at least to Mac OS 14?I know there's a possibility to downgrade the LTR Classic to a previous version, but I've recently done so much work with my new Macbook which would be lost if I did it.Any suggestion?Titusminor
