Uso Mac OS Sequoia 15.6.1.
I’ve used Adobe Lightroom for years and have always relied on three 6TB external HDDs (made by G-Tech) to store my photos and Lightroom catalogs. One 6TB external drive serves as my primary drive, holding my images and catalog backups, while a second 6TB drive is a full clone created with Carbon Copy Cloner. I also use Backblaze for cloud backup of my external drives’ photos and catalogs to be as thoroughly secure as possible. Just the other day, my primary HDD external drive became “toast” due to what appears to be a firmware failure—even after assistance and confirmation from Apple technicians. (I suspected that the new macOS 26.2 update may have triggered the issue, but that’s another story.) Unfortunately, there was no Apple solution. Now I need to purchase a new 6TB external drive as a replacement. Should I move to a 6TB external SSD instead of another HDD, and if so, which models have worked best for you? I’m currently using a Mac Studio with a 1
Hi All - I want to apply a color selected with the point color dropper to a mask. Not finding an obvious way to do that, and haven't found anything useful in help or community...
Product:Lightroom Classic (Windows, version X.Y.Z)Description:When using AI Denoise repeatedly in a single session, performance degrades non-linearly. Initial denoise operations complete in seconds, but after processing multiple images the same operation on the same image can take many minutes. Restarting Lightroom Classic does not restore normal performance. Restarting Windows immediately restores AI Denoise to normal speed.Steps observed:After launching Windows and Lightroom Classic, AI Denoise processes high-ISO RAW files at normal speed. After denoising multiple images in succession, AI Denoise becomes progressively slower. At a certain point, processing time increases by orders of magnitude even when applying the same denoise settings to the same image. Closing and reopening Lightroom does not resolve the slowdown. Restarting the operating system fully restores normal denoise performance.Expected behavior:AI Denoise performance should remain consistent across repeated operations w
I recently noticed that the info data was no longer visible in my grid view. Restarts and recent LrC upgrades did not help. I tried to apply the steps used for the v14.x versions to work around the missing info in the Develop mode to no avail. What did work for me: View->Grid View Style->Expanded CellsDoh! Somehow, the Grid View Style -> Compact Cells was enabled. Did I inadvertently press J and cycle to the Compact Cell style? No idea... So posting this for anyone needing to change this Grid setting. It was for me less than obvious.MacOS v15.6Mac Studio, M2 MaxLrC v15.1I will assume this setting works similarly on WinX
Lightroom Classic version: latest (Creative Cloud, fully updated) Version 15.1 OS: Windows 11Camera files: Fujifilm X-H2 (RAW and DNG) Problem:Panorama merge always hangs at the background tasks"Assembling panorama" and "Saving metadata". The panorama DNG is created successfully and appears in the catalog, but the background tasks never finish and block Lightroom. After this happens, no further panorama merges are possibleuntil Lightroom is restarted. Deleting the tasks manually does not help. What I already tried (no success):- GPU disabled- New catalog- Catalog optimized- RAW converted to DNG and re-imported- XMP auto write disabled- Firewall and antivirus disabled- Files stored on local SSD- Preferences reset Reproducibility:100% reproducible.I can always create exactly one panorama after starting Lightroom. The second merge always hangs. This is a serious workflow blocker.
I'm a pretty fluid user in Lightroom. I'm attempting to use Lightroom Classic and sync some images to my iPad. The collection name/album name is syncing - but no photos. I've tried going to Lightroom.adobe.com and seeing if something was blocking it, but it wasn't. However,r if i add something to regular Lightroom, to that album/collection, it shows up. The hangup just seems to be on Lightroom Classic. It's not syncing out. Any ideas?
Hi! I'm a photographer that documents artworks for a living and I recently upgraded my hardware from an old mac to a new one and realized all the color profiles i've made from previous jobs are now missing. the old mac is now gone and wiped clean. I only got to transfer my Catalog and files (since its in an external SSD). For future reference, is there a setting to allow me to back up to the cloud all the color profiles or have them "baked in" to each file or maybe atleast included in the catalog file? Was hoping it functioned like an XMP thing beside the raw, or have it stored in the same folder that you made the color profile from. I now have alot of raw files that are no longer color matched to the original paintings as the DNG profiles ive created with the Xrite / Calibrite Digital SG Colorchecker are now totally gone (good. thing i have exported tiffs that are all finished). Looking forward to solutions.
Can someone help me understand why my edited photos are showing up as “File Not Found”? The original RAW file is still there and opens normally, but the edited version shows the missing file icon. Here’s what I did:I first edited the image in Lightroom. Then I sent it to Photoshop for additional edits and saved it.The edited Photoshop version appeared back in Lightroom in a stack, no issues.I never exported the final edited file.A few days later, when I went back to export the edited image, Lightroom said the file couldn’t be found, but only for the edited Photoshop version. The original file is still intact. Since the edited file wasn’t exported and Lightroom can’t locate it, I have no way to relink or recover it.Does anyone know why this happens or how to prevent it?
The Color Slider in the Manual Denoise Module in my Lightroom Classic v15.1 (and some Versions before too) is always set to 0 instead of the "Default" of 25, even when i apply Denoise!?So what is the official correct Setting i should use? Always on 0 or 25?I observed the following Behaviour on Photos: if the Slider is set to 0 and i apply Denoise, some of the Colors get more Saturated, if set to 25 the Colours stay more or less the same as without Denoise.....In some earlier Versions of Lightroom Classic the Color Slider also jumped automatically to 25 when Denoise was applied, but this doesnt happen, it always stays at 0..Is this a Bug or what? Here is an example of what i mean, on a Heavy cropped and 100% Zoomed in, and because of that not so great Image Quality Resolution wise:There are some strange violet Colours, see the violet Markings, but also some more saturated Brown Yellow colours on the Deers, Orange Markings, when set to 0 ( Left Side Image) The blue
After many attempts at trying to make V15 work, I joined those who reverted to V14 and have enjoyed some success, until yesterday when about half, or more, of the catalog simply didn't show up. After some aborative effort to use the Find Missing File, etc., I gave up and proceeded to import the missing folders and files. That process was going smoothly until about 20% into the project the entire catlog decided to reappear. Happy that the parocess is complete, but I would like to understand what happened to the folderd/files...why did they dissappear and why did they reappear? Thanks for any insight.
I've used LR Classic for awhile. and a few updates ago, something weird started happening when importing images. Once LR finishes the import and brings me back to a library section of the catalog, the thumbnails for the images are gray. Even when creating full previews of the thumbnails it's still gray. I'm not sure what I need to do to fix it. I chatted with support and they've not really been helpful. Any sugguestions? This happens on my macbook pro as well.
Description:When cropping images, changing aspect ratios currently requires opening the aspect ratio dropdown each time. For workflows that involve frequent switching between common ratios (for example As Shot, 5x7, 8x10, 4x5), this adds unnecessary friction. Suggestion:Provide a way to cycle through standard aspect ratios while the Crop tool is active, such as: A keyboard shortcut to step forward or backward through a user-defined list of ratios Or a “sticky” or “magnetic” behavior (possibly a modal key while resizing) where common ratios snap as the crop is adjusted This would allow photographers to evaluate multiple aspect ratios quickly without repeatedly opening the dropdown. Use case:High-volume editing and print-oriented workflows would benefit significantly from faster aspect ratio switching during cropping.
Description:When using intermediate Lights Out mode (L key once) while cropping, the crop tool controls are dimmed along with the rest of the interface. This makes it difficult to see and use the aspect ratio dropdown (for example switching from As Shot to 5x7 or 8x10), especially on darker images. The primary benefit of Lights Out during cropping is isolating the image area. Fully dimming the crop tool interface provides little benefit and reduces usability. Suggestion:Allow crop tool controls to remain fully visible (or less dimmed) while Lights Out mode is active, similar to how the image area remains emphasized. Alternatively, provide an option to exclude active tool panels from Lights Out dimming. Use case:This would improve speed and accuracy when cropping large numbers of images, especially when frequently switching between standard print aspect ratios.
Product:Lightroom Classic (Windows, version 15.1) Steps to reproduce: Open Lightroom Classic Go to Library and switch to People View Ensure the Toolbar is visible (press T) Resize People thumbnails using Ctrl + mouse wheel until the thumbnails reach their maximum size(Reaching maximum size via the toolbar slider produces the same state) Attempt to reduce thumbnail size using Ctrl + mouse wheel Expected result:Ctrl + mouse wheel should continue to resize thumbnails when scrolling in the opposite direction. Actual result:Once People thumbnails reach maximum size, Ctrl + mouse wheel no longer changes thumbnail size.Ctrl + mouse wheel does not resume resizing thumbnails until the toolbar thumbnail size slider is manually adjusted. Additional notes:Ctrl + mouse wheel works as expected in Library Grid view and Develop view. The issue appears isolated to People View. The behavior is reproducible across restarts.
Thanks for the additional Leica cameras in tethering mode. But should I see something in the Live View window with my Leica M11 ?
Merci.
I have noticed for many months by now really, that the Transform/Vertical overshoots the correction routinely, and than I have to use the manual Transform/Vertical slider to usually set it to +9 to +20 in oder to make the lines really vertical on both sides of the image. Do you also observe that problem?
I'm posting my question to find if there's a better way to achieve my goal. My project is based on scanned images, not digital creations. So I do not have EXIF data to capture. I am also actively researching the potential years of past events, so I may be working with images and lack the date of such events. Once I do find the information, I manually update the metadata for the capture date to the month/day/year of each event. What I want to do is search the year a photo was taken, but not required to select month/day. I want to see "all" 1976 photos, for example. I know I can keyword this option, and that is the solution I did use. But I can't help but feel that I'm missing something obvious.I can also sort by Capture Date. This doesn't help as I have over 700k images. So I wanted to ask, is there a way to search (not sort) images based on capture year only?Lightroom classic; on MAC.
I bought a new lens for my Sony a7RV. It is an FE 35mm GM 1.4. I see that it is a supported lens but cannot find a way to add it so I don't have to manually click the correction for every photo. I have attached before and after clicking manually.
LR Classic 15.0.1Camera Raw 18.0MacBook Pro (Apply M4 Max)36 GB MemorySequoia 15.7.2 Lightroom Classic does not seem to bulk apply AI Denoise to images. Despite choosing images of various quantities (2, 5, 10, 200, etc.), denoise only seems to be applied to the initital image. I have tried all of the methods I can find -- copy and paste, sync, shift-clicking images, and more -- but Denoise is not applying across the entire selection. And, images that I've denoised seem to revert randomly. I've also uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled the app. Thesre are Nikon NEF files. Any thoughts on how to proceed?
In some instances when using the generative remove tool on Lightroom Classic, the tool goes through its processing then leaves a black mark where I had drawn. Even after regenerating, it remains black. I have redrawn the selection before to try to fix it but the new selection will remain black. On Lightroom Classic version 15.0.1.
