Hi,for a while now (probably since dynamic filter were introduced), this issue has been bothering me, dynamic filters mask only follow the position and not the resize, they are not linked like a classic fusion mask : - Create a Smart Object and apply a filter to it (ex gaussian blurr).- On the dynamic filter's mask (not the Smart Object fusion mask), paint some black area to hide the blurr effect on the SO (Smart Object).- duplicate the SO and resize it (larger or smaller, doesn't matter). If you look at the dynamic layer mask (you can hold alt and click on the mask to toggle the mask display); you can see the mask has not been resized. I don't understand why there is this limitation when you can resize a SO with a classic mask and the mask will resize accordingly with the SO (or unlink the mask if you want to).Regards,
Since the update to v. 27.9.1 my gradients are all different. I know you can access the legacy gradients (Adobe hides classic and older preset libraries by default. To get them back, open the standalone Gradients panel via Window > Gradients, click the panel's fly-out menu (the four horizontal lines icon) but only a few of the many legacy gradients load. Is there anyplace online where I can download the complete legacy gradients from the version just before this current update? Thanks for your help.
I keep getting this error: "Catch in IPhotoshopApplication, exception encountered: Failed to create enviroment config: photoshop_exception" I do not know how to fix it ive tried to reinstall it as well as my video card driver and nothing seems to work for me. Any suggestions are welcome
Hello. As soon as I open photoshop, version37.9.1, even without opening a particular photo, the following message is displayed: "A required view could not be created, because the definition file is missing or corrupted". What to do? Merci.
I've spent the past few years using Photoshop for work on a PC. As a part of my workflow (I make posters, social media images and such for concert venues), I'm constantly updating existing flat files: mostly .jpg images and flat PDFs for print. I've just switched back to Mac and I'm kinda shocked at the extra steps in a process that I do maybe a hundred times a day on average: PC (five steps)-Edit my .psd file-Click Save As Copy-Click on the file I want to replace (which, sensibly, changes the file format of my item)-Click Save-Confirm file quality and properties MAC (seven steps)-Edit .psd file-Click Save As Copy-Click on the File I want to replace (does not change the file format of my item)-Scroll and select the correct file format under "Format"-Click Save-Click through mandatory, non-removable dialog box warning that I'm saving over a file-Confirm file quality and properties I realize these are small steps, but the annoyance of having Photoshop nanny me through
I can open the filter gallery and see the image but there is no preview of the filter. And the filter doesn't apply when I click ok. This is the case with any image, all RGB, 8 bit. What am missing? Thanks!
My tools not working correctly. The lasso tool, when clicked, displays straight lines all over the photo. The spot healing tool does not work at all. Many of my actions not working properly either. Its very hard editing when most tools and actions not working. I have tried suggested resets, nothing changes. I have done al I could find to try short of uninstalling and reinstalling which I prefer not to do.Thanks for any help. Debbie
This is a screenshot of the circle I'm referring to. It was changing over time, sort of pulsating. The screenshot is of a portion of the screen showing my browser window. This blue circle stayed in front of any screen I switched to, until I switched to Photoshop. Then it disappears. That leads me to believe it's Adobe software doing it. I'm using a 16" M4 Macbook Pro. Searching the internet for explanations I see other Adobe products are implicated in this same issue. What is the animated icon meant to represent? How can I prevent it in the future? I really don't know what I did to have triggered it. Hovering over it and clicking it did nothing. So it's a useless feature. Worse than that, it's an annoyance, since it encumberts other applications.

The June 2026 Photoshop update is here, bringing more creative choices and meaningful workflow fixes. What’s newThis release expands creative choice in Generate Image with access to custom‑trained AI models, similar to what you’ve seen with Generative Fill. You can now choose from Adobe and partner models, including Firefly Image 5, Flux.2 Pro, and Gemini, making it easier to explore different visual styles, achieve stronger photorealism, and get results that stick closer to your prompts. Whether you’re experimenting with concepts or polishing production‑ready visuals, having multiple models at hand gives you more control over how your ideas come to life. Bug fixes — thanks to you!Your feedback continues to shape these updates. In this release, we’ve addressed several customer‑reported issues to make everyday workflows more reliable:Canvas size relative mode fields display incorrect default values, reject zero and negative values, and use incorrect increment steps. Add support to renam
Photoshop 27.7, Modern UImacOS Tahoe 26.5.1 After you dismiss Finder’s Save panel (where you can edit the filename and location), the Save for Web dialog won’t respond to ESC or Enter key. Steps to reproduce:Open an image and ⌥⇪⌘+S to open Save for Web Press or click Enter Without actually saving the file, just press ESC or click Cancel to close the Finder SavePanel Hit Enter again. The OS-level dialog should popup again, but it won’t. Hit ESC to close Save for Web, also no response.Workaround: Press Tab once or twice to active and move the keyboard hotzone away from the image preview area. This looks like a minor issue but it’s a pain in the ***.
I have a photoshop document open. When I try to export it — whether that’s “Quick Export as PNG,” or “Export As,” I am met with an error. The text of the error is “Could not complete the Quick Export as PNG command because of a program error (854aee.3153)” and “Could not complete the Export As command because of a program error (854aee.3153)” respectively. This is a very new install. I looked for this issue and found others had it through the years. I have ensured that Photoshop has full disk access. I’ve also tried with and without the graphics processor. It’s pretty crippling to be completely unable to export my work in any usable format. Renders the program completely useless, effectively. Hi everyone, this is my first time posting in this forum so I’ll do my best to explain my issue. Today I encountered an unrelated issue regarding Photoshop brushes having seemingly random inputs. So, after a little reading, I saw that the solution seemed to be updating my drivers. I checked my laptop and saw there was a backlog of updating so I went ahead and installed those as needed. After rebooting and launching Photoshop, my brushes were fixed but I noticed the whites on my canvas, color picker, and layer thumbnails were tinted blue. I searched this forum and found someone else encountered this on this thread but the posted solution there did not work for me. Instead, I found a YouTube video from 9 years ago addressing a similar issue (instead of blue, it was yellow). They went into Device Manager and added sRGB profile to their monitor and set that as default instead of the monitor’s native profile. That semi-worked for me. The whites in my canvas and color picker seemed fixed, bu
This issue seemingly sprung up overnight. Whenever I drag using the marquee tool I no longer see marching ants and now get a black line instead. It’s a nightmare when working on dark layers. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled, reset preferences, updated version… Nothing seems to be fixing it. Any help would be awesome.
When I first reported this problem I was told it was because my wacom tablet was old, my computer was out of date etc. Now I have a brand new computer and a brand new wacom tablet and still if I am not careful my clone tool goes automatically alined when I select an area to be cloned the box ticks itself I can see it happen if I accidentally tap the pen twice in quick succession to the tablet when making a selection. Now this may be okay for you younger people with your steady as a rock hands but no matter how careful I am this is still happening by accident to me. Some may see it as a feature me I would just like to be able to turn it off.
When I Save/Save As, I have to click endlessly away from last used to route- can we get a Windows Explorer bar at the top like most every other app?
Went to update a plugin for Photoshop via ccx file apparently managed through Unified Plugin Installer Agent through Creative Cloud. It would not install. Tried all the remedies I could find listed. Nothing worked. Attempted running the UPIA from the command line and it returned a -410! error/status message. Of course, searching for some insights online turned up nothing. The supposed alternative is to uninstall everything and reinstall everything. An absolutely ridiculous approach on many different levels. Curious if anyone has any ideas about what might be able to address this problem. As it stands now, I have a commercial plug in I can’t use. Considering all the other problems and indifference to customers that Adobe has demonstrated over the last few years, seems that if I am going to have to start over ever quarter with software that is not only invasive but constantly being updated an alternative should be pursued. I have used PS since the 90’s. Would hate to change f
As the title says, I'm trying to use the new AI remove tool after removing some people using the Generative Fill tool, as the ai generated grass is usually more accurate when using Remove. This is something I have been doing since the remove tool came out, and it has worked without error until last week. Now, whenever I have used generative fill on an image, and I attempt to use the AI Remove tool, Photoshop says "Could not complete your request because of a program error", regardless of whether my selection includes the area where Generative Fill was used. I get the same result if I rasterise the Gen Fill layer, or if I flatten the image. However, if I undo the Gen Fill, or open a new image without any Gen Fill used on it, the Remove tool will work as it is supposed to. The file type does not seem to matter, as I have tried .dng, .psd, .png and .jpg and got the same results for all. My question is, why might this be happening? Is it deliberate choice by adobe, or an uninte
Hello everyone, I've been experiencing a strange problem in Photoshop since yesterday. When I create a text box and try to write something like "100% cashmere," the % sign automatically moves to the left of the 100, resulting in "%100." Even when I copy-paste "100%" from Notepad, the % sign still moves before the 100. It's baffling! I have the latest version of Photoshop, and I'm on PC. In my screenshot, it's also strange because when I place my cursor just after the % sign and try to delete it, I can't. It's as if this action is blocked. Thanks you all of us
Since PS introduced the new 2026 Actions panel I cannot find a way to remove a stop.My actions were created years ago where there was a checkbox besides every step to include a stop or not. I had usually a stop checked, especially with save and close … in order to decide where I want it to be saved to.But using an action as a batch from Bridge I don’t want the stop to avoid to selecting location, etc every time. I want it to go without intreruption, saving (and closing) to the location determined in Bridge > Photoshop >Batch > select folder. In the past I just opened the first image in PS and unchecked the stop in the action. This allowed the selected location in Bridge Batch processing to override the original location in the actionNow, in the new actions pallet I cannot find a way to uncheck the stop that’s in my action and in general … to make Bridge Batch settings to override..Anyone, please! Thanks
How do I turn off snapping when moving selections? When i move a selection just a tiny bit it snaps back to its original place and its bugging me a lot-Here is a video as demonstration:https://youtu.be/c_nLpqO3RMQ(and yes all the snapping modes are off:)

Hi everyone,I’m having a strange issue with a Photoshop Action that I’ve been using for more than 5 years without any problems, but in the last 2–3 weeks Photoshop always considers the file as “modified” even after the action saves it correctly. We use the same Workflow for many Pictures in our Company, hence we use the same “Action” for almost every Picture. The action includes: paths / clipping paths profile conversion TIFF save At the end of the action the file is properly saved to disk, but the document title still shows the asterisk (*) as if there are unsaved changes. If I manually close the file after the action finishes, Photoshop shows the popup asking:“Do you want to save changes?”Things I already tried: deleted and recreated all Save / Save As steps left only one normal “Save” at the end added “3” and I repeat “3” normal “Save” at the end of the action removed every step after Save disabled “Save in Background” recreated the action from scratch tried Purge Histo
I have a regular Adobe Creative Cloud plan. The oldest Photoshop version currently available through Creative Cloud is the 2025 version.I have a 2019 MacBook Pro and an older iMac, both still very powerful and perfectly suitable for professional work. For quite some time now, however, it has been nearly impossible to work on large projects because the versions released over the past two years are full of bugs and suffer from serious lag across almost every tool.I have just contacted Adobe Customer Support, and they confirmed that, according to Adobe's policy, the oldest version they can provide is Photoshop 2025. Unfortunately, this does not solve the problem at all.I rely on Adobe for my work as a professional illustrator, but I simply cannot work properly if the tools do not function as they should. Considering how much I pay for my subscription, I expect to be able to access a version of the software I am paying for that is actually usable on my machines.I would also genuinely like
