Photoshop 2025 bug: auto numbering in lists using text tool causes file corruptionI have identified a bug. I noticed that a new feature was when you use the text tool and type1. text 2. text 3. text this triggers auto numbering. Well it took me four hours to figure out this is what was currupting my files and it is very repeatable When you try to reopen the file, it says a problem wont allow it. The auto numbering in text tool had been working ok without file corruption until very recently. If I paste a list in text tool with numbers alread in place, it corrupts the file if I start inserting numbers before a list in the text tool, it corrupts my work around is this: I type or paste this: text text text to create a numbered list i do this: t1. ext t2. ext t3. ext than i backspace to remove the first letter to create my desire: 1. text 2. text 3. test the auto numbering feature either needs to be removed or fixed under
Applescript error: file ([filename]) doesn’t understand the “open” message." number -1708 This error is currently only happening within Adobe Photoshop. To be clear, most of these are scripts that have been running fine, some for years, until just recently. This only just started happening with a recent OS update to Mac OS Tahoe 26.5. (I have also posted this in Apple forums. I was suggested I post it here.) I can write: tell app "Finder"open file (choose file) ...and the files open (even Photoshop files, when initiated from the Finder) Also: tell app "Illustrator"open file (choose file) ...works just fine within Illustrator but if it's: tell app "Photoshop"open file (choose file) ...then I get "error: file ([file]) doesn’t understand the “open” message." number -1708 " I've searched every forum I can find and nothing addresses that error code specifically. (Not to any point that I can diagnose a solution.) other direct commands to Photoshop also do not function, including: return cur
I have a registered Photoshop CS6 upgrade license (upgraded from CS4). The CS6 serial number is visible on my Adobe account and matches what I am entering. I properly deactivated CS6 on my old PC (Help > Deactivate) before moving to a new Windows 11 PC.On the new PC I have tried, over many attempts:Clean installs from multiple sources: my backup installer, the download from my Adobe account page, and finally my original purchase disc Full uninstall and registry cleanup between attempts Running the installer and the application as administrator Installing the Creative Cloud desktop app and signing in before installing/launching CS6 Offline activation Verified correct system clock/date/timezone, no antivirus interference, no Adobe entries in the hosts file The new QR-code sign-in method (per helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/reactivate-older-apps.html)Current state, using the original purchase disc installer:The installer accepted my serial and displayed: "Your serial number for Adob
Hi everyone, I would like to report this explicitly as a bug report, and I kindly ask that it not be moved to the Questions section again. The behavior is reproducible in my setup and appears to involve the interaction between Photoshop 27.6, Windows Ink, the Remove Tool, and assigned Wacom pen side switches. Short description In Photoshop 27.6, using the Remove Tool repeatedly causes a massive memory increase. Photoshop then becomes unresponsive for a while and eventually shows the error message: “The operation could not be completed because there is not enough RAM.” In my tests, this happens when using the Wacom pen, but not when performing the same Remove Tool actions with the mouse. Key findingI ran several comparison tests with the same file while monitoring Windows Task Manager. Test 1 – Remove Tool with mouse inputPhotoshop 27.6 Windows Ink enabled Remove Tool input with the mouse 46 Remove Tool strokes no freeze no RAM errorMemory usage increases somewhat, but remains controlle

Hi,I’d like to ask a question regarding Photoshop's 3D features:- When I have an EXR file open and click the 3-axis icon, a small window appears in the top-left corner of the monitor. However, when I change the view there—to "Top," for example—and click the "swap main and secondary view" icon, the main window displays only a checkerboard pattern (or pixelation) instead of the image corresponding to the view I selected.Could someone please tell me what I might be doing wrong? Many thanks.
I’m setting up a Photoshop layered file with a bulleted list. It will be easier for the other users if the text has the bulleted list style automatically applied, so I used the bullet style in the Paragraph panel. But is there any way to change the bullet color? Right now it’s the same color as the text, and I would like there to be a contrast.Drawing the shapes manually is not the best solution for a template that various people will have to use. Is there a hidden option somewhere that would allow me to change the color, as in InDesign?
selection and deletion of objects are done on the device or in the cloud, but the device has not been working for six months, so I use the cloud version. However, now the cloud version starts the search slider, and after a couple of seconds, it displays that no objects have been found
I want a layer to be transparent but also have visible layer effectsAttached are three screenshots that hopefully explain what I mean**There seems to be some chatter that simply turning fill to 0% would solve my problem. But that is not the result I’m getting***Working on latest PS in latest MacOS
Hi,Since recently, any new fonts which i install don't appear in Photoshop unless i restart the application. I have to close all my projects and reopen just to see this new font. It’s a bit annoying !Thanks for your help !Photoshop version 26.11.2Apparently, same issue with Illustrator...
Since updating to 27.5 yesterday I’m encountering a bug where when I switch between channels of a Curves adjustment layer the active point is deselected. This breaks flow and slows down the process of getting the color right, which for me typically involves bouncing back and forth between 2 or all 3 color channels (working in RGB) and making one or two point adjustments with the arrow keys. To reproduce:Make a new Curves layer Add a point somewhere in the middle of each of the R, G, and B channels. Press Opt + 3, 4, or 5 to switch between the channels. Prior behavior: you would still have selected and active the same, nth point on the curve. So, if you were on the Red channel and had tweaked a point in the middle, then switched to Blue which you hadn’t touched yet, you’d have the 255,255 point active since it was the second point on the curve. Once all three channels had a point though, switching between them would keep the midpoint selected for tweaking with the arrow keys. Current
I have some feedback and idk where else to put it! With the new update, while using Camera Raw to edit I’ve noticed some changes with the crop tool. I used to click on the crop tool and it would automatically make my image a little smaller, leaving me space on the side to grab the crop tool and you know, crop. With the update, the image size does not change when you select the crop tool, which means there’s no space between my image and the side panel, making it harder to grab the crop window. Now I have to zoom out, crop, then make my image full size again, where this step used to happen automatically.
The program has been working fine for a few months but has suddenly started crashing (momentary freezes, then closes) for no apparent reason. I have tried all the fixes (each in turn) that I have found on line, but to no avail:Turning off all programs while PS in use Checking no background Adobe processes running Resetting preferences Updating graphics car driver Unchecking multithreaded compositing & GPU compositing Switching off ‘Use graphics processor’ Adjusting memory usage - set at 70% (17185 MB available to PS) Clearing cache Checking sufficient scratch disk space Disabling 3rd party add-onsI have a reasonable PC (AMD Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core Processor (3.80 GHz), 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (8 GB RAM), 2.3 TB of free space on 4.5 TB hard drive, Windows 11 Home v25H2 - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor). HiSince the last update of Photoshop to the current version, I've noticed a very high RAM consumption. According to my research on the internet, I'm not the only one with this problem. Compared to PS 26.11.6, 27.8.0 consumes twice as much RAM, without even loading a single image. Both versions are configured identically, with the same actions, plugins, etc.Immediately after starting PS, it occupies about 11.5 GB of RAM in 2026, but only 5 GB in 2025. If I load the same photo, which contains layers etc., in both versions, then 2026 occupies 13.9 GB, and the 2025 version occupies 7 GB.Kind regardsHans-Joerg Fritsch Attached are the system information determined via PS 2026. this version makes Photoshop not work on Ventura anymore. At least mark it as “not compatible” instead of making me download an app that just refuses to boot
Hi, after a recent Photoshop or macOS update, I noticed a problem with Save As on Mac.When I open a PSD file and use Save As, the filename field shows the current file name with the .psd extension. If I replace the whole filename with a new name, for example testname, and keep Format: Photoshop selected, Photoshop saves the file without the .psd extension. So the saved file is:testnameinstead of:testname.psdThis did not happen before. Since the format is set to Photoshop, I would expect Photoshop to automatically add .psd.Adobe Photoshop Version: 27.2.0 20251213.r.15 e3408e7 arm64 (final, Release) Number of Launches: 654 Operating System: Mac OS 26.5.1 System architecture: Apple M3 Pro, DOTPROD, HybridCPU(6:6)
Since Microsoft Intune was installed on my Windows 11 machine, PhotoShop, InDesign and Premiere Pro regularly freeze for 20 to 30 seconds. During this time the applications do nothing but I can switch to a browser or email client and use those just fine. Once the Adobe app ‘recovers’, it continues to work fine for another few minutes, at which point in time it will freeze again for 20 to 30 seconds.Task Manager shows no excessive CPU load during these freezes. There is still plenty of spare RAM available on the 64BG i7 portable. As I already said, all the Adobe applications that I use do this, but I spend the most time using Photoshop. The freezes are very annoying and sometimes force me to redo actions that were interrupted. Tips and tricks to resolve this are appreciated. Our own IT team cannot fix it and claims no one else in the company has this specific issue.
In Photoshop 2026 UXP, batchPlay duplicate document returns [{_obj:"error", result:-128}] inside executeAsModalI am developing a Photoshop UXP plugin. In Photoshop 2025, duplicating the current document via batchPlay or Document.duplicate works. In Photoshop 2026, the same command returns [{ _obj: "error", message: "", result: -128 }] even inside executeAsModal.Recorded command from Alchemist:await batchPlay([ { _obj: "duplicate", _target: [{ _ref: "document", _enum: "ordinal", _value: "first" }], documentID: 59, _options: { dialogOptions: "dontDisplay" } }], {});This works when replayed manually, but inside my plugin workflow it returns -128 and no new document is created.Questions:1. Did Photoshop 2026 change restrictions around duplicating documents from UXP plugins?2. Is document duplicate blocked in some modal/plugin contexts?3. Should plugins use core.createTemporaryDocument instead?4. If createTemporaryDocument is used, how can we access layers or use it as a norma
Hi everyone,I’m looking for help with a recurring issue when saving scanned PNG images as PDF files in Photoshop (27.3.1). Recently, the PDFs generated are partially corrupted or misread by Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and Photoshop. The Problem: When I open these PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, I get the following error:"The dimensions of this page are out-of-range - Page content might be truncated."The page size appears as 1x1 mm, making the content cropped and pixeled. What I’ve discovered so far: Third-party viewers: If I open the same PDF with PDF-XChange, it displays perfectly with the correct dimensions. Re-opening in Photoshop: If I open the "corrupt" PDF back in Photoshop, it also shows the wrong 1x1mm size. The "Workaround": If I check the box "Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities" when saving, Photoshop is able to reopen the file correctly, but Acrobat still struggles with it. Has anyone encountered this "out-of-range" dimension issue recently? Is there a specific setting i

Color Mechanic (plug in filename is ColorMechanic2-64.8bf) is a plugin that's not been supported for several years. However, I have receently installed it on another Windows 11 machine running Photoshop 2025 and it works fine. However, when I first try to use it (Filters>Digital Light & Color>Color Mechanic), it prompts me to enter the activation key. Before I can do that, the activation window disappears and Photoshop locks up. Is there a reason this plugin won't work in PS 2026? I had no trouble activating it on machines running earlier versions of Photoshop.
Is there any way I can download all my Photoshop Cloud files to my desktop? Either from the Creative Cloud App or from the Web. Please Help!!
Every so often I run into a situation where I've created a full bleed design but when I go to set it up to print I realize that I forgot to include the bleed area past the trim line. Where this is especially annoying is when it is a photograph or piece of art that I don't really want to enlarge to account for the bleed.A work around is copying and then reflecting the image on each edge and butting it up against the trim line. Also, you can generative fill the bleed area. Both of those tactics work, but they are annoying. It would be awesome if there was a simple button to press where you said "create bleed" and you could set the size of the bleed you wanted and AI would just generate the bleed for you without any fuss. This would have to be in Photoshop.Maybe this is just a me problem, lol, but we have the technology!!
