I'm using Photoshop 24.5 on an Intel iMac running macOS Ventura. I work in multi-channel everyday for my work in commercial print design. Since updating to the latest version of Photoshop, I'm experiencing an issue causing black to display instead of the colors in the art. Sometimes the issue is not there; sometimes the images are all black; sometimes a part of the image is solid black. This can changed depending on my zoom level. Sometimes it goes away when I restart. Sometimes it doesn't. I've also been seeing the issue across different files, but I think I've only seen it while working in channels. Below is a screen recording of the issue.
When I place a photo (default as a smart object) into a master file 800px wide, it is showing the wrong dimensions when I try to transform it (it's showing 242px wide). If I rasterize the smart object it will show the correct dimensions at 800px wide. The smart object and rasterized images are exactly the same size. NOTE: the dimensions that show up when you drag the transform boundaries are showing the correct dimensions (on both the smart object and rasterized image)I've never seen this until today (and I do this dozens of times a day). What am I missing?
Hello, everybody! I am... and I'm many years old. I am far from being good with Photoshop, but I am even further than being a beginner. Having that said, I've been occasionally working on Photoshop for several years, now, and it's was only two weeks ago when I found out what "smart objects" are, and how great they are. ... so, yeah!, I am basically here thinking that my features suggestions are cool, but... who knows!... they might already exist. Although I doubt it. Who should I talk to about submitting 3 such suggestions at the price of 2? Kidding. I just have 3 ideas, and I'd like to submit them. Maybe Adobe will give me a free licence for Photoshop, as a reward. Who knows! One never knows. Lookin' forward to hearing from you, people. Regards.
Why is "auto-blend" command grayed out an remain unavailable?

Mac OS I'm on the PS April 2025 edition. When I open an image, I get the contextual task bar but no adjust colors.Anyone know why? Any help appreciated.
I have a subject and a selection in Photoshop. The selection is very close to the subject but not perfectly aligned—there are slight mismatches around the edges. Is there any script or automated method (like an Auto Liquify script) that can deform or adjust the subject to match the selection exactly? Ideally, I’m looking for a way to warp or reshape the subject so it conforms precisely to the selection boundaries.Any suggestions, plugins, or scripting approaches would be appreciated. Thank you!
when i am using camera raw in photoshop one error is showing like graphics processor has encountered an out of memory error. i have 8 gb graphic card and 32 gb ram
Hello !After the lass update, I can't batch process anymore. My actions are still in the list, but neither can they be edited, nor applied or anything. The whole interface has changed, there are no longer checkboxes for any step saved within the action. Anyway, all the steps, except ofthe layer attribute seem to be lost. So no longer the things like "pixelize style, save, close" - I cannot create any new action, it says "library cannot be edited".This hits me in the middle of a bigger and longer project.
(related to this post>> https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-bugs/smart-object-gray-layer-at-top-of-file-causes-blocks-when-working/idi-p/14787126) Hoping for updates made in my previous post (made with my work account from prior job)... Working in high end commercial photo retouching most--if not all--of my files have grain applied to the image using a 50% gray layer converted to a smart object with noise and blur smart filters.Very frequently I will be working on the lower layers with the grain layer on and as I clone, heal, brush, etc blocks of pixels of everything below the grain basically disappear and reveal the gray grain information instead. It corrects itself the moment I turn off/on that or any layer. This is obviously very annoying. My workaround is to work with the grain layer off which is almost as annoying, almost counterproductive. This has been going on for a few years now on (I believe) every version of PS on various suped
I want to use a JSX script to freely transform the image. My image has two horizontal reference lines: one at the top of the head and one at the chin. When I perform a free transform to the chin position, the distance between the top of the head and the top reference line creates a gap. How can I keep the top of the head aligned with the top reference line while also ensuring that the chin stays aligned with the bottom reference line?
Is it possible to have a "active layer and below" swatch option with the "delete" or "healing brush" tools, in the same way that this option exists with the "stamp" or "eyedropper" tools?Currently, only the "all layers" or "active layer" swatch option is available.
The eraser tool is not the marker, and it makes long marks
I have a large number of images to process. Briefly, they're all scanned negatives and I want to add a levels adjustment layer. A look at the first few suggests that pullling the left slider up to about 35 and the right slider down to 225 will be near enough in 99.99% of cases. My thought process - record a suitable action (two steps: create levels layer, set layer with "Input:35,225"), start a batch job, go get a brew. However, the action pays back fine (dialog is off), but stops with the cursor in the input box waiting for input. If I add another step the action continues without applying the inputs. What do I need to do to get the action to enter the specified input? Many thanks in advance,
Hello, I am trying to remove this branch from in front of the bird face.. I have tried the quick select tool and the healing brush and with all of them they become muddy and you can totally tell that I photoshopped it out.. Does anyone have any tips or tricks? I am fairly new at photoshop so any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive watched the tutorial on the video and it just doesnt work that easy haha
How do I revert to the old swatch layout? This new one is so cumbersome and counterintuitive. Thanks [PS - yes, I have read other posts about accessing the act file from an old version, which I no longer have, or manually moving everything into another folder, which is pretty ridiculous]
I am running on Mac 10.15.7 Catalina and have upgraded to Photoshop 2025 (26..6.0). When I attempt to open an image that I have previously worked on, the image is black. The layers panel is visible but toggling the layers on and off has no effect on the image. How do I resolve this?
I accidentally detached the image screen I was working on from the workspace and I can't seem to re-attach it back again. I used to be able to simply drag and drop it in. Same goes for my Tools strip and my Layers box. Once they get detached I can't seem to drag and drop them back onto the workspace. See attached video please.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much.Brian
In Photoshop 2025, I was trying to bring an image into photoshop from Photos on my mac. Photoshop asked if I wanted to get access from my my photos, I clicked on it, went to see Photos and all of my Photos are gone and the whole library of images are gone. Help!
Is it even possible? If so, how to trim a rectangle that is exceeding the canvas? I do it with background images all the time without a sweat using Image->Trim
[PT/BR]Bom dia Galera, estou tendo problemas com a ferramente 'Dissolver" do Photoshop. Sempre que abro a ferramenta tanto usando o menu suspenso como o atalho a tela fica desta forma. Já tentei resetar as configurações (Alt+Ctrl+Shift) e nada, outrora já havia reinstalado Photoshop porém o erro permanece, e como sou fotógrafo isso me atrapalha muito. Alguém pode me ajudar?[ENG/EUA]Good morning Guys, I'm having problems with Photoshop's 'Dissolve' tool. Whenever I open the tool using either the drop-down menu or the shortcut, the screen looks like this. I've tried to reset the settings (Alt + Ctrl + Shift) and nothing, I had previously reinstalled Photoshop, but the error remains, and since I am a photographer, it disturbs me a lot. Can someone help me?
using the shape tool, no matter how simple is so slow, whereas the rest of the program is fine. Just clicking on a shape takes a couple seconds of nothing before it is selected, and even worse if you want to create, edit one (changing colour, stroke etc, all super slow). As you can see, selecting a rectangle takes seconds to complete, whereas a smart object is instantanious. Any ideas what might be causing this, and how to fix it? An older version of PS (CS6 iirc) was the same on this machine, never got to the bottom of it but its becoming intolerable.Current version should be up to date, same with drivers etc.Running a AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 core CPU and nvidia RTX 2070 GPU.I remember a LONG time ago this issue was never present on much worse hardware.
After setting a mask's feather or opacity setting in the mask properties panel I frequently am stunned when at any random moment the file looks corrupt with blocks appearing in random areas of the image. Zooming in/out can change this effect but it's scary not knowing if it's just a graphics issue or an actual corruption of the file. This has been going on for many years--maybe as long as the mask properties function has existed. I have discovered that I can solve the issue by zeroing out whatever mask opacity or feather I had set and then re-applying it. I have gotten very used to just blurring with filters or adjusting masks with levels/curves but sometimes the function of being able to keeping record of the adjustments is very useful. Is there any way to solve this issue on my end?
When trying to use any kind of image generation in Photoshop, it starts loading the usual 3 variations at first, but after a few seconds the generation stops and the screen reverts to its previous state before the prompt was entered. Nothing appears in the history either. Additionally, information about plans, billing history, and payments does not load on the website, and the Firefly site also fails to load data. What could be the issue and how can it be fixed?
