I am currently working on a template for headshots with the upcoming election and want to show a 'live area' for clients to reference when aligning their photos to the guide. A cropped artboard would not work in this case, since the program we upload the final to will crop the image according to the info submitted. My idea is to have the ability to turn a layer, into a 'guide only' layer. Like the one in After Effects, a layer that you can leave the visibility on and it won't export with the final. A lot of what we do as designers is to make the hand-off as easy to use as possible. This would be a useful feature for templates.
I would like to request an option in Preferences that allows users to specify a fixed default font size for new text layers. At present, even after resetting Preferences, the default font size may be automatically set to a large value such as “50.” This appears to be influenced by document resolution and zoom level rather than by a user-defined setting. While automatic sizing may be useful in some situations, it creates unnecessary repetitive adjustments for users who frequently create labels, annotations, figures, presentation graphics, or other text-heavy materials. For professional workflows, consistency and predictability are often more important than automatic optimization. It would be very helpful to have an option such as:Default Type Size: [ 16 pt ] Enable automatic default type size based on document resolution and zoomThis would allow users to choose between Adobe’s automatic behavior and a fixed personal default, improving efficiency without removing the current functionality.
..it's the mode I need like 95% of the time - but for some reason it keeps reverting to "Background (default)" or "Transparent (default)" eventually when opening further images....making it necessary to manually choose "Content-Aware Fill" over and over again (I probably do this 300 times a month).. One instance where it changes away from the manually-set "Content-Aware Fill" is when I open a file with more than one layer (background layer being locked by default). The problem is the fill mode then changes to "Background (default) for all open files, and all files I open from there on out.The only "solution" to set it back to "Contant-Aware" is to quit PS, open it again without a file, set crop tool, set "Content-Aware Fill", close PS, open it again..Also it doesn't seem to make sense in the first place as to why the fill mode changes - when opening a single-layer file (with locked background) it will happily stay with "Content-Aware" - see attached screenshots.. This is really doing my
When drawing in Photoshop, a lot of times I like to use Lasso tools to add or to erase the subject; however, it takes so long to continuously lasso every single time when I want to same shapes consistently when using symmetry turns on.By adding extra features to lasso tool that can select shape shapes across with symmetry would definitely cut down the time of manual work of lasso.
Example of not being able to scroll to the bottom of asset at 25%"Save for Web" flowIssues:Cannot fully scroll to bottom or top of asset at smaller percentages of 100% Image Format: When attempting to switch from GIF to JPEG, it will not switch when highlighting multiple slices. I didn’t have this issue before this new update. It will require that I select another option and then try changing to JPEG again. Highlighting slices and locating what type of sxport they will be is incredibly difficult. The UI is awful and the area where it does say the file type and size on the left hand corner above the percentage drop down menu, is small and not user friendly. Requests: Adding a scroll bar to the workflow where you view your asset and its slices. Make file type indicator on left hand corner larger or bold so user can understand what slice they are looking at. Some kind of feedback/connection to the selected slice in that moment.
I am sorry, I don't have much experience (have been designing only since 2001), but have an idea: How about we put a HEX CODE value in the COLOR window? That might be very handy since sometimes some designers work with hex codes because we could paste, remember, type them. Imagine? Might help with the dwindling user base too.. Info window displays RGB Values. I can copy the HEX code, so it is there.. Why do i need to have the friction to open a Color picker? I used to use this lesser known app that masks its name as A.I. but it actually means Adobe Illustrator. It has a working example of this function. Take a look, maybe your devs can take the same idea into Photoshop.
I love using the Pattern Preview function for standard repeats. Is it possible to use this function for a half drop repeat?
please make it possible to have one key for shortcutsi dont like clicking multiple keys for an action i just want one keyit will save a lot time, i use in premier, and after effect but i cant in photoshop“for this screen shot i wanted ‘-’ for save instead of ‘CTRL+s’ which is too much
Photoshop Beta had a whole bunch of incredibly useful actions in the actions panel, and they were reduced. It’s now just a small offering. While still useful, the other actions were incredibly creative and fun, and as a professional designer, I loved exploring them. Particularly the black and white options and color modifications, the sky action, etc. 😭
Gain map support in LR / ACR is great, and it would be helpful to extend it to Photoshop as well.
iPad Pro m5 is well capable to handle the full version of photoshop. It will be worth paying the yearly subscription.
Hue and saturation adjustment layer contains a hand tool which picks the colours which we would like to adjust the hue and saturation of. When we select a colour in the photo using the hand tool only the drop down changes to the appropriate colour while the slider colour remains cyan. If the slider colour also changes to the colour closest to the colour that the user picks , when the user selects a different colour it would match with the slider colour and the user won’t need to scroll through all the colours in the slider.
Please add the ability to use a custom brush instead of the built-in smudge tool in the iPad version of Photoshop, since this is currently only possible in the desktop version. My entire drawing process literally depends on this tool, and it would be incredible if it were available on the iPad. Photoshop is by far the best drawing app I’ve ever used, and I wouldn’t want to give it up just because of the lack of customization options on the iPad. Currently, only one basic version of the "smudge tool" is available for the iPad. In the desktop version, you can add your own smudge tool, customize it yourself, or choose a downloaded one. In my opinion, this would greatly increase the popularity of Photoshop on the iPad among artists, because the basic smudge tool is very awkward to use for "sculpting" a drawing (
It’d be so helpful to have a sound notification when AI finishes generating fills. Since it usually takes a minute or so, people often switch over to something else while they wait, and then forget they have work to do! A quick sound cue would save time and make the workflow smoother. Alternatives (mas user) could be a pop up badge, a shaking PS icon in the dock. Thank you!J
Whaaaaaat.I'm finding it incredibly hard to believe that every graphics program supports using the brush and pen through touch screens EXCEPT for Photoshop, the Queen of them all. Am I really going to have to draw in GIMP?I'm well aware that touch screens aren't nearly as ideal as graphic tablets but really, GIMP even supports pressure sensitivity and Photoshop doesn't support anything? Please, please incorporate this feature, it should have come standard years ago.
Bonjour. Merci.
There’s no way to have true duel color stroke effect when painting. At the moment the only thing we have is color jitters when painting. Thus making every part of the stroke being a different color. It would make life so much easier and faster if we had the ability to have a duel tone brush stroke like this: https://x.com/jferdaous1/status/2066567525446701497?s=20Or at least photoshop gives us the ability make our own script plugins for brushes and tools. I often find myself swapping to other programs for what should be now standard or basic features.Honestly the whole brush settings panel needs an overhaul and push of new features.
When using Generative Fill on transparent backgrounds, the AI constantly generates useless background pixels (like grey artifacts/floors) instead of transparency. When we try to select these unwanted pixels and hit the "DELETE" key, Photoshop completely blocks us with a dynamic layer error message. We shouldn't have to manually right-click and "Rasterize Layer" every single time we just want to clear an area. Adobe needs to either allow direct deletion on these layers (by auto-rasterizing behind the scenes) or give us an option to bypass this restriction. It's totally destroying the workflow for cutting, compositing, and character design.
I believe many others have a distaste for the inability to dock the contextual task bar. It becomes a tedious thing to continually have to move while working in Photoshop. It's always in the way, and pinning doesn't really work well. I suggest making it able to be docked like any other panel, integrating into the control (options) bar like every other contextual task before this, or adding to the properties panel. I'm not a beginner, so why am I forced to have a beginner-like user experience? The beauty of Photoshop and other Adobe software is to be able to customize your tools for your workflow and how you like them. This takes away from that, and other Adobe software such as Illustrator is starting to copy what Photoshop did. I love gen fill, however, so it presents a conundrum. Do I only turn it on when I'm using gen fill or always leave it on? To the best of my knowledge, gen fill is the only thing that the bar has that there's no other way to do other than to go to
I would like an option in Photoshop Preferences to disable the automatic creation of layer masks on Adjustment Layers and filter masks on Smart Filters. While masks are an important part of non-destructive editing, many professional workflows use adjustment layers purely for global image corrections. In my own work, I only need a mask on a small percentage of adjustment layers. The remaining masks are unused and create unnecessary visual clutter in the Layers panel.Currently, every adjustment layer and Smart Filter creates a mask by default, even when it is not needed. This results in larger layer stacks, reduced readability, and extra clicks when removing masks manually.I would like to see a preference such as:Create masks on Adjustment Layers by default: On / Off Create masks on Smart Filters by default: On / OffThe default behavior could remain unchanged for existing users, while advanced users could opt into a cleaner workflow. This would improve layer management, reduce interface cl
Customizable Save As Menu Photoshop’s Save As workflow is currently based on a fixed, predefined list of file formats. An optional feature in Preferences could allow users to fully customize this menu to match their workflow while preserving the current behavior as the default.Proposed Features1. Custom Format VisibilityUsers could choose which formats appear in the Save As menu.Unused formats could either:be completely hidden, or remain visible but disabled/grayed out. This would significantly reduce menu clutter while still preserving discoverability.2. Custom Format OrderingUsers could drag and reorder formats according to their needs. For example:PSD TIFF PNG JPEG PDFinstead of scrolling through a long list of rarely used legacy formats.3. Keyboard SelectionUsers could assign number keys to formats.Example:1 = PSD2 = PNG3 = JPEG4 = TIFFWhen the Save As dialog opens, pressing a single number key would immediately select the desired format.4. Save PresetsUsers could assign one or more
I don’t know why this isn’t a feature for PS already, but please give us the ability to mirror smudging and liquidifying. Procreate has it so it’s clearly possible, and it’s so easy to and intuitive. I will literally leave the PS app just to go use them in procreate. I use symmetry a LOT in my work… So please… I beg
Create a second additional cursor for Windows that is controlled by your AI. The program could use it to teach me, for example, Photoshop.
This will effect a few aspects so I will just go over one example. Canvas size, we are presented with Width, unit, Height, unit… These can be tabbed through but it’s not instinctive, you enter width then have to tab twice to get to height, it should be enter width then tab to height, never have I ever had to change a width unit to be different to a height unit, I wouldn’t ever need width as pixels and height as millimetres… can you just separate the units to be above the size. Work flow is then Canvas size > enter width > tab once > enter height. A small tweak but if this is implemented across New Document and Export, it will save a lot of clicks. Cheers!
When I open a RAW file in Camera Raw, I proceed directly to develop the photograph. In my workflow I immediately create a duplicate of the layer to work on, thereby preserving the original. It would be useful if the preferences offered an option — a checkbox — to automatically create that duplicate of the original when exiting Camera Raw.
