Photoshop Elements

I have signed out Photoshop 14 and uninstalled it on my old computer and installed it on my new one but I get a message on my new computer that the programme is already in use on another computer, which is not right.  Can anyone advise what I can do? KenL

I recently installed PSE 24 and the bottom toolbar has a white portion (which shows fine) and a much larger black portion that extends across the remainder of the screen. I cannot see any tools or photos loaded in this black portion, but if I hover my mouse, it shows things are there and I can click on them (I just can't see it). I have tried rebooting and even reinstalling with no luck in order to get this black bar removed. Any ideas? Stacy

I've just started using photo editor in Elements 2024.  The online User Guide says that "Photoshop Elements automatically keeps track of the file’s edit history and adds this information to the file’s metadata".    When can I see this information?   In Photoshop, there's a history log in File Info that shows all the edits that were done to the image and that remains even after you close the file.   But when I go into File Info in Elements, it looks like there's a 'history' section there but it's empty.    Is there someplace I can see the file's edit history even after I save and close the file?  (To be clear, I do not mean the History panel that opens along the right side of the window so you can undo recent edits.)  Thanks for any information.(I'm using windows 11 if that matters.)

Hi! How do I add presets into Elements? I downloaded the preset I want to add and put it in the "presets" folder within Elements but it is greyed out.Thank you!  

all of my icons in my graphics are the same. i have to right click and view what it is. each ine indvidualy.  

I have Elements 2022 Editor and all of a sudden clone stamp tool has been lagging, I have to wait for it to 'catch up', makes things hard to acurately clone.I've searched PS and the internet and tried unchecking 'Show Overlay', but that didn't work (I've always had it checked)Any suggestions?  Thanks

I have made a white canvas into which I want to import a photo.When I choose "Ctrl + O" to open a photo it comes into a new own canvas every time. How can I get it right into the canvas I created? "Ctrl C" and "Ctrl V" does not work, to move it to where I want it. /Linnea

Hi Skeleton Crew photography, I've had photoshop on my desktop computer for 3 years now I have Photoshop 2020, I don't have internet but I still edit photos. Can I stack photos on this with no internet, or do I have to have internet and if I can stack with no internet can you please explain to me how to proceed with this. See quetion in subject.  I have Photoshop Elements 2020 on my Windows PC.  I can import HEIC files, would like to keep in that format due to its superior file size and quality.  Does Photoshop Elements 2022 now work for editing HEIC files now?  Can't seem to find anything other than on Whats New: Support for HEIF and HEVC on Windows.

I have Windows 11 and have installed the HEIF and HEVC extensions to support HEIC files from Apple.  I can open HEIC files in IrfanView and in the windows 'Photos' app.  But I cannot open them in Photoshop Elements 2023. I've tried opening (importing) them in the organizer, but get a message that "the file is damaged or is in a format that cannot be included ...". I've tri'ed opening them with 'Open in Camera Raw',  and get an error "the file cannot be opened as its an unsupported file type". I've tried opening them in the Photo Editor directly (File/Open) and this crashes the app completely.  Surely by 2023 we should be able to open HEIC files, especially since the native Windows Photos can, as well as IrfanView? 

After a PC problem necessitating a Windows 10 reset, which removed Elements 2020 (and other apps), and needed a restore, I maybe have a problem. I followed the instructions on screen, selected "restore using original file structure" and got photos back, HOORAY. But,  why has it put the Photo Catalog and Program Data folders in with the rest of my folders on the external drive I use for my photos? Surely they should be in the"C" drive?  Can I move them or just leave them where they are?John

I have an old version of Elements 10 that I have tried to install on my Windows 11 PC but it just won't work so I am considering getting the latest version, 2024. Can I buy the upgrade without having the older version installed or do I have to have the older version installed on my laptop to accept the new one? Elements 10 is registered on my Adobe account.

Hi there,when I add text in Photoshop Elements it always shows up in small capitals. I can't find a way to use uppercase only when I push Shift... which is the normal way of writing text.I tried the trouble shooting mentioned here already: https://helpx.adobe.com/de/photoshop-elements/kb/type-tool-stuck-caps-lock-error.html But this didn't work.I hope someone can help me solve this issue.Thank you so much for your support in advance!

Hello - I'm dealing with a lightning strike that damaged my computer and took out an external hard drive (and yes, I was using a surge protector).  All my media was safely stored on a separate external hard drive, so no problems importing photos into Creative Cloud.  I've spent years scanning old film slides & photos and then carefully adding key words in Elements 2019.  When I access the files in Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop or Bridge), the Key Words are gone.  Where are Key Words stored?  How do I find them and how do I import or reattach them?

Every time I open the Organizer in PSE 24, it shows a dialog box saying, “Elements Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close”.  It allows me to send a report.  The first few times, I put in an explanation of what happened (nothing happened) and included my email address.  I got tired of that, so now I leave the message box blank but send the report.  The strange thing is that the program never closes, and it seems to work fine.  Even though the program works, these constant false error messages are very annoying.  How do I get them to stop? Here is the system info generated by the program: Elements Organizer 24.0.0.0Core Version: 24.0 (20230922.Git.master.31442ae)Language Version: 24.0 (20230922.Git.master.31442ae)Current Catalog:Catalog Name: ...Catalog Location: ...Catalog Size: 11.1MBCatalog Cache Size: 109.8MBSystem:Operating System Name: Windows 10Operating System Version: 10.0System Architecture: Intel CPU Family:6 Model:7 Step

Hi! Can anyone help? I had an old version of photoshop elements on my old laptop (disc version) and I've had to upgrade my laptop and has no disc drive to reinstall. I don't use it a lot so not willing to pay monthly/annual fees. Is there a version of elements that can be downloaded for a one off payment? Thanks 

Hi guys, im wondering if anyoine can answer if its possible to install or use external presets on PE 23? and if so are there any videos of how you get them loaded in/ installed? I'm obviously a pure rookie so any help would be much appreciated, Barry

I had someone send me a few files (PDFs) that they needed me to touch up the images in those files. I was able to open the PDF into APSE19 and have the images on different windows/tabs in photoshop, then moved them all to one new file to work on (saving the psd inbetween). Now that I'm done with the file, I needed to save all 30+ images into separate files to send back and I thought there was away to export several layers as images... but the option under File is greyed out. I could just simply save each layer one by one with the other saving functions but the exporting would have been faster. Is there any reason why "export" would be greyed out? 

Hello!I have read MANY books and articles on how to do a channel swap for red/blue and it is THE primary reason I purchased Photoshop. However, ALL of the Youtube and ebooks deal with all versions of PSE EXCEPT this latest version! Can ANYONE help me with this problem?? thanks, Chuck

I posted a query about the interface (window resizing and double spaced file tree) which had several likes but no answers so far - hopefully someone from Adobe will address. I hope it was not a deliberate decision to "fix" something that wasn't broken.  On initial installation PSE2024 found my PSE2021 catalog and appeared to import it. However the vast majority of it simply wasn't there, and most folders were not shown.  As I have 18k+ photos the vast majority tagged to my satisfaction, it is imperative that I do not lose it and keep the ability to use 2021 until any further issues with 2024 are resolved (or I ask for my upgrade fee to be returned !)  So: I uninstalled 2024 and any apparently 2024 related catalogs were removed.  I then reinstalled 2024 with a new named catalog "2024 install" which is empty.   My question is how do get it to use my 2021 catalog without making changes to it that will stop it being used by 2021 if I decide not to co

Just retired and have more time for photography and post processing.I have Photoshop Elements 9 cd rom for Windows & Mac and am considering what to upgrade....It's my intention to move from Windows laptop to MacBook very soonMy questions:1. Is it possible to upgrade to the latest version of Elements when my intention is to move to Mac OS?2. Does the upgrade path need the original software already installed on the target laptop?In my case, Elements 9 is installed on my Windows 10 laptop but I'd like to switch to the Mac platform when I've bought a MacBook.I see that I can pay £70.91 for an upgrade online but it forces me to choose Windows OR Mac.I'd hate to buy the Mac upgrade only to find that I cannot install it on the new MacBook. 3. Does anyone know if there's a tutorial on how the upgrade is applied?4. Is it best just to purchase the new version when I get the MacBook? Sorry if I'm repeating often asked questions but I could not find any similar question. Thanks

Kann man in PE 21 im Gerade-Ausrichten Werkzeug (P) die Farbe der Linie anpassen? In dieser Version ist die Farbe der Linie in Grau. Dadurch ist das Werkzeug in vielen Bildern wegen des fehlenden Kontrasts der Linie kaum benutzbar. Ich haben in den 'Voreinstellungen - Hilfslinien/Raster' leider nichts dazu gefunden. Wäre toll wenn jemand eine Lösung wüsste! Danke!
