Photoshop Elements

Does Elements 2023 support Sony A7iv raw (awr) files

I have Photoshop Elements 2021 installed and have been using it but suddenly my Editor Workspace won't  open. Should I uninstall and reinstall? 

Every time I select Scan the results is a wavy photo, what do I have to do to correct this? Michael

I have been using the Smart Brush problem free until recently.  It simply will not work and I don't know why.  Tonight it froze the whole program and I had to Force Quit. Can anyone help? I am on a Mac OS Sierra. 

I am trying to restore my PSE19 catalog to PSE19 on a new laptop.  The Backup file has been saved to an external harddrive.When I attempt the Restore operation on the new laptop, the Restore menu box does not list "Original Location" as a Restore option.  The only options I get are "Specify Destination" and "Restore Original Folder Structure".Why is the "Original Location" not listed as a Restore option? I Imported photos from my iPhone to an Album as I always have with PE2022 on my laptop..  After organizing those photos I tried to Import some more photos to another Album.  At the point where the Import has all of my iPhone photos (but it doesn't actually show the photos on mhy screen), the process froze.  After waiting for some time, I tried to Cancel the Import, but nothing happened.  I eventually was able to Close out of PE2022.  I tried to Import photos from my iPhone again, but the import did not detect my iPhone.  I re-started my laptop and re-booted my laptop, but the PE2022 still does not detect my iPhone.

 Photoshop Elements  Is it possible, in PSE 2023, to change the file name of 20,000 photo files and put them in appropriate folders without PSE 2023 classifying them as missing files?  Love and Respect to the PSE Community.       

Hello, Please help. I purchased Elements both photoshop and premier last year and specified windows. Now I have just bought a mac and although I downloaded them in Mac versions,the registration numbers dont work in it. How do I fix this pleasse.  Peter

A long time user of PSE 08, recently upgraded to PSE 2023. The thing that sold it to me was the Cylinder Warp function, (which after a web search, even on the Adobe official site, I was assured that this function was included). a hundred bucks later I opened the workspace to find the Cylinder option missing from the warp menu?! Have I been lied-to, or mis-sold this product? ...Or am I missing something obvious to others in this forum, but obscured to me? I'd hate to think I've just wasted my money, but it seems I may as well as stuck to my old PSE 08. I bought PSE '23 specifically for this function.

I am bringing up a Dell Precision 3660 and currently in the process of moving my software and data to it.  I was able to install Photoshop and Bridge without issues.  When I tried to install Photoshop elements the installation script runs for a few seconds and then aborts with an Installation Error 176.  When I look up that code it says I'm tring to install on a network drive.  I get the same result when trying to install to the default location on the system's C: drive and when I try to install on a disk I added as an E: drive. What gives?

At one time, PSE used to be my goto program.  After suffering through constant crashes with first 2021 and now 2022, I give up.  I cannot even open a single image without the program locking up.  I am running macOS Big Sur, Version 11.6 on an iMac (5k, 2017) with 3.8 GHz quad-core and 40 GB of memory.  I have deleted and reinstalled multiple times, but the crashing remains.  Today I had to restart the program 7 times just to get on image processed. Am I missing something here?  Has Adobe just turned to pure crud on this program or is there some known issue where it no longer works with apple computers?  I give up and am hoping someone can recommend an alternative program.  I used to recommend this to my photography students, but I can no longer recommend such crud.

I have been forced to buy a new laptop running Windows11.  My RAW files in the Pictures folder do not have an image on them, just a blue cartoon icon.  This radically affects my workflow.  Is there a downloadable fix to make the image visible? 

HiI have recently installed Elements 2023. I am using Windows 10. I am using dual extended screens. I opened Organizer to import edited images from my folders.It first imported my General catalog from my previous version 2018When I try to open "Import" to load new images from my folders , I do not get a dropdown menu to select an option. I wanted to check if my set-up was correct and tried to open File. This would also not provide a drop-down menu. I checked Edit, View & Help, none of them produced the appropriate menus.In the organizer itself, none of the following Tabs produce the appropriate dropdown menu :Sort by, Create or Share, but tabs, Media, People, Places events and Search all worked perfectly.I am also able to open an image in Organizer and access the Grid from the open image.I rebooted and tried again, same non responsive Tabs. I rebooted, opened the editor and accessed the Organizer from there. Still no response from the Tabs.To check to see if I had a mouse or c

I want to delete all the files and  folders I have in PSE 2020. Photos are all mixed up in the wrong folders.  Once they were in the correct folders.  From Tree view, I plan to delete all the dated folders and some of the unusual ones named 1, 2, 3, etc. Then I plan to attach my external hard drive, my backup, and re-install my photo catalog. Is this the correct way I should handle this situation on a MacBook Pro? I welcome any guidance, including step-by-step advice.

When I make a selection and create a layer using layer via copy (CTL-J), is there a way to go back to the background layer and have the selection I made still visible so I can then select inverse and make a seperate layer of the inverse selection? Right now my only path seems to use the selection tool to re-select a new selection and proceed from there. thanks

Hello, I have a problem with PE2023.I'm following a course/ tutorial and in a lesson they says to use the Mixer Brush. Now, Adobe Elements , I don't know why don't have a mixer brush (since it's similar to the smudge tool), I hope it will be introduced in the next update, as,  it's a simple tool and can fit good , also together the smudge tool, to be added in Photoshop Elements.   For now, I can 't go on on the tutorial, as the mixer brush it seems different from the smudge tool, or , do you know if there's a way to reach the same effect with other options /tools?I don't know, maybe the most expert could find a way to obtain the results the same (since elements it reach the effects in less time and is more 'immediate', but I don't know the software well yet. How can I find a way to make a mixer brush in Photoshop Elements 2023?  Thank you in advance for the help! 

Camera nikond600 imported into Lightroom thought I was shooting raw came over as Jpeg need to editusing Photoshop.  save the file in PSD file format while you work on the editing ?.   is it tiff ?is it png? is it psd? what format? TO EDIT, from what I read you should not continually save in jpeg format. What about Smart Object features?. Change your image into a smart object before editing to keep the original image at its highest quality.?  The highest quality can  this be done to all my photos , how do I select highest quality in photoshop? where is this located in photoshop? once for the bulk of my photos or is it photo one at a time? to get highest quality. When finishing editing whatevver format I use , do I save? save as? will it be what format? tiff? will it be png? or psd?  when do you use "export as" ? when you are at the point of sending to printer or everytime you want to edit?An Export As command allows the user to save the image

We just started taking photos with a Galaxy S23.  We use the photo downloader to load the images from the phone to the Organizer.  Lately all the photos appear pixelated when they appear in the Organizer.  We tend to try to load about 800 photos at a time.  We have never had this problem with our older phones.  I'm a very amature photographer.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using PSE 2019 with Premiere Elements 2018. I installed  the latest version of both programs (2023) then tried to convert the existing catalog which I have stored in a custom location on my hard drive. It seemed to be working fine until I got a message saying the conversion had failed. I looked at the pse-conversion-log file and everything seems to have worked up to the end when it has the folowing entries. conversion log: Completedconversion log: Failed to rename new catalogconversion log: Conversion Failed

I have been using Elements 8 for many years and am now running it on Windows 10. As Elements 2023 now has support for importing HEIC files from iPhone I am thinking of migrating to 2023. Is it possible to achieve this by : Backup Elements 8 CatalogUninstall Elements 8Install Elements 2023Restore Elements 8 Catalog into Elements 2023    ?I was wondering if there would be any catalog structure differences that might complicate things ?. Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks, Peter.

Hi I'm trying to open a new file (or use an existing one) and  type text on it and get a program error . any idea why? or how to deal with it? 

Bought a new Windows computer.Installed Photoshop Elements 18 from Adobe web page.Onedrive took care of syncing the photos from the cloud.Restored catalog from full backup Organizer's Media view shows all photos correctly.Organizer's My Folders shows only folders to which I have imported since the restore. Show All Subfolders shows the expected subfolder tree. However:Almost none show the binocular icon for folders holding imported files. Those that do have been created and the media imported after the installationSelecting a folder gives the "No files from this folder have been imported into Elements Organizer. To add any files, right click on the folder and select "Import Media"All of the folders hold imported files:Import Media for a folder takes a long time and then says all files were skipped because they are already in the catalog.The folder still does not show the binocular icon.Selecting the folder still shows no content. Repairing the catalog does not help.Optimizing
